Below are excerpts from this article about the Hell's Angels gay tag team -- Ron and Paul Dupree (aka Chris Colt) -- from the July 1969 issue of Inside Wrestling that I recently stumbled upon.
Before exposing their big secret, the article describes how they got together as partners when Ronnie Dupree, tired of playing a Good Guy, went looking for his biker brother, Paul, in San Francisco so they could form a Heel team.

[By the way, I had to look up "Frank Merriwell," the character that Ronnie Dupree was likened to. This was a fictional character in old 1900s dimestore novels, continuing on to 1950s comic books. Merriwell was the ultimate Boy Scout, an older version of Gallant from Goofus and Gallant. He was a model of healthy, obedient, positive behavior for straight American lads to hopefully take after.]

(The above image is NOT from the 1969 Inside Wrestling article.)
Back to the article, which included the following photo of the "brothers" in their leather vests with Paul down on his knees:

How implicitly gay can you get with Paul's face at bulging crotch level?
The next part of the story provides a kayfabe explanation for how Paul (aka Chris Colt) was convinced to take up pro wrestling in addition to biking.

Of course Paul refuses to abandon his biker buddies. Motorcycle gangs have long held gay overtones and homosexual associations in the popular imagination since they began in the 1940s and 50s. I mean the whole point of the hobby is to go around with other bad boys in leather, while your vehicle offers no easy way to bring your wife and kids along for the ride. There were even explicitly gay biker gangs like the Satyrs, founded in 1954. And of course, one of the Village People (a 1970s gay disco band) had to be a biker -- an icon of gayness.
I recently read an article claiming that the actual Hell's Angels members would kiss each other on the lips, supposedly to shock the squares in their vicinity... Even the 2024 film The Bikeriders about the rise of motorcycle clubs included a really, really gay conversation between the two (ostensibly) straight male characters.
So during the 1960s and 70s, you couldn't BE any sketchier, any more gay adjacent (or outright gay) than to don leather gear and join a (male only) biker gang. And this is exactly the gimmick adopted by the Duprees, as noted in the article -- how much louder could they possibly scream, Yes we are totally gay!?
My next post will reveal the shocking secret that, according to the article, these bikers/wrestlers are trying to hide. Prepare to be underwhelmed.
To be continued...

DIP Camille Bordey Meta
I realized the reason that I don’t like Camille/Humphrey in later season is because my girl loses the light in her eyes. Which there is a more obvious reason why, but I just missed when she was having fun and bringing the best out of Richard. Like, they really brought the best out of each other and were written in many ways to be the perfect partner for each other.
It’s nasty work that Camille hears Richard’s voice when she can’t figure something out because he rarely did that, if at all when they were together. They didn’t exactly agree on many things but they learned to listen to each other and try to connect their separate pieces together.
For example, in S2 E3 Camille is explaining to Richard how she heard that Mrs. Dupree might’ve been having a “lovers tiff” with one of the other guests, specially Paul Vincent, he asks her if she believes him. Almost as if, “what is your gut telling you” and you can tell that she’s thrown off by the question but he doesn’t say it in a negative way. Like, Richard has grown to trust her instincts and navigates it in a way if they should follow that lead any further.
Even in S2 E5 when Camille is clearly distraught by her friend’s death, she calls herself “useless” and is automatically reassured by Richard that she’s not. (I have so much more to say about this in terms of confirmation of Richard’s feelings but that’s a different post, if anybody even wants to read it).
TLDR; Richard and Camille were written to bring out the best in each other and when they tried to do the same with Humphrey, it made CamiChard all the more lovable.
#death in paradise#rant#meta post#META#camille bordey#Richard Poole#humphrey goodman#DIP#otp: you have me#idk if anyone will actually read this#but I’m suddenly in the mood to realize the CamiChard tag for a minute#if anybody wants to hear my insane parallels I found#I’ll be happy to try and sit down long enough to continue#CamiChard

"Black and White Blues" (1971), un documental muy interesante que enlaza los orígenes del blues con el blues rock blanco de finales de los sesenta. La diferencia entre ambos parece casi abismal, pero en la película nos explican que hay aspectos que se mantienen, quedan, permanecen.
Tocan o hablan, o las dos cosas, Fleetwood Mac, Jeremy Spencer, Chicken Shack, Savoy Brown, The Who, Pete Townshend, Champion Jack Dupree, Muddy Waters, B. B. King, Marshall Hooks & Co, Alexis Korner, John Mayall, Paul Oliver, Mike Vernon... Sale hasta el "suedehead" (es broma) Duster Bennett.

So what would you love to see for Disney TVA's 40th next year? asking this in terms of celebration from Disney themselves
I would love to see more greenlights for new shows many from BCG crew members, in terms of reboots i think there should be official PRs for the TaleSpin and Recess reboots but specially would love to see series greenlight order for C.H. Greenblatt - Disney Channel series, i think he really deserves to find sucess at Disney.
Speaking of D23 Expo, would love to see Disney Legends Awards giving awards to Tad Stones, Bob Schooley, Mark McCorkle, Rob LaDuca, Bob Roth , Bill Motz, Paul Germain, Joe Ansolabehere, Dan Povenmire, Jeff Swampy Marsh, Jose Zelaya, Bobs Gannaway, Craig Gerber,Mark Seidenberg, Paul Rudish and Noah Z. Jones for their contributions on the studio over it's 40 years.
Would love to see something akin to Once Upon a Studio, my perfect idea would be Mickey and the entire characters of the studio getting ready to welcome to StuGo, Sam Witch, North Woods, Dog & Frog, Fantasy Sports, Neon Galaxy, InterCats, Rhona, Witchverse, Dusty Dupree, Cookies & Milk, North Woods, Tiny Trailblazers casts on a big party for the 100 series and next 100 shows.
Finally would love to see Very Important House getting revived this time for Disney Channel as next year is also the 10th anniversary of the pilot getting picked up for Disney XD
Finally something like Wish did with it's end credits with each show created at Disney TVA on the credits of The School Of Sensitive Souls.

Let's continue our review from yesterday of this tell-all exposé of the Hell's Angels tag team, published in the July 1969 issue of Inside Wrestling. The photos and text that I'm posting are taken from that article. Toward the end of the article, we finally begin to learn about the big secret the Dupree Brothers are hiding:

So this is their big secret?? That the brothers will cut each other's hair. That is not very shocking. What else?

So we learn that they can cut hair and sew on buttons -- big deal. I want my 50 cents back!
Does their ability to sew on a button imply that they are weak and can't fight?? Actually back in 1969, that is exactly what it meant! To have domestic skills was to be possibly queer, and to be queer back then was to be weak, incompetent, submissive, and cowardly.
So for the fans who could read between the lines, this article is absolutely calling them gay and poking fun at the sissies from start to finish. There is no blatant accusation of sodomy, which would've probably gotten them thrown in jail in 1969 (especially if they're brothers, as the article purports, which would be even more scandalous!)
Instead, the descriptions of their behind-the-scenes activities are meant to raise our Gaydar Alarms. Noting their physical contact in the photo, calling Ronnie the "Golden Boy", using the term "domestic serenity" which implies marriage, and calling their needlework "a little fancy." Noting that they are actually "not that tough" -- i.e., not masculine. Mentioning that Paul lived in San Francisco (perhaps you've heard what goes on there!)
Also, dressing them up as bikers -- icons of queer counter-culture. Even the title of the article, Hell's Bells, seems emasculating given that a "belle" is a pretty girl.
These coded terms and imagery convey to a savvy reader these big strong bikers in their tuff leather vests are actually a couple of prancing nancies, probably sewing and doing raunchy gay stuff all night long -- we just can't print that in a magazine in 1969.
It's interesting how the Hell's Angels could travel around sharing hotel rooms, could dress as explicitly gay as they wanted with their bleached hair and Village People clothing, could be outted by these magazines -- yet in the ring, they maintained this veneer of threatening, merciless, hyper-masculine toughness.
It's as if partaking in pro wrestling and joining a biker gang are two of the most daring, dangerous, hyper-masculine activities a man could do. Yet if we look with a queer eye and dig into the behind-closed-door activities, pro wrestling and biker ganging can be the very gayest pursuits for a man. This dialectic is exactly what makes me (and I suspect Chris Colt) love pro wrestling so much.

Posted below is the entire three-page article if you want to dig more into the subtle outting of these "partners" and their shocking secrets:

Thats right its The Golden Blog with a brand new look, brand new graphics and brand new way of doing things. I also have a co-writer who will be joining me from now on. This will now simply be good and bad points.

So starting with the women's Royal Rumble match.
👍Good points:
The lasers give it that big time feel and the info on screen graphics are a nice touch.
Its great to see Naomi back.
Bayley got a huge ovation.
Great to see Jordynne Grace in WWE they also acknowledged the fact she beat Naomi in TNA.
Im guessing Tegan Nox eliminating Natalya leads to a match between the 2 so if this means a push for Tegan then im all for it.
A good pop for Zelina Vega.
I liked how they made Nia Jax look like a threat.
Alba Fyre got a good reaction.
R-Truth as funny as always thinking he was in this.
Jade Cargill has made her debut and got a huge pop.
Tiffany Stratton certainly impressed here.
Good to see Liv Morgan back.
Bayley winning. She more than deserves it.
👎Bad points:
Candice Lerae hardly got any reaction, neither did Indi Hartwell same goes for Ivy Nile and Kitanna Chance.
Bianca Bel Air almost slipping on the top rope as she jumped over it.
Kari Sane,Tegan Nox,Kayden Carter,Chelsea Green,Piper Niven,Xia Li,Maxxine Dupri,Shotzi,Shayna Baszler,Valhalla,Michin,Zoey Stark,Roxanne Perez also with zero reaction.
No Sasha Banks.

Undisputed WWE universal championship fatal four way match.
👍Good points:
Roman Reigns entrance looked awesome.
I love they addressed fans complaining online that Roman only defends the title every few months.
This certainly went the distance.
All 4 men looked good here.
A great sequence of events that lead to the finish.
👎Bad points:
This shouldn't have gone on 2nd.
The Slim Jim commercial during the entrances.
Solo Sikoas interference wasn't needed i feel.

Us Championship match.
👍Good points:
Logan Paul targeting Kevin Owens broken hand.
Logan Paul just seems to get better and better.
A great finish,a most certainly stacks heat onto Logan.
👎Bad points:
Logans freind Jeff really didn't need to get involved here.

Mens Royal Rumble match.
👍Good points:
Having Jey and Jimmy Uso start this was very smart.
Grayson Waller came out to no reaction but quickly got heat on the mic.
Great to see Andrade back.
Carmelo Hayes got a good pop.
Many boos for Dominick Mysterio, what a heel.
Good pop for Bobby Lashley, also Kofi Kingston.
Good to see Bron Breakker in the match and damn was he impressive.
A great surprise Pat McAfee entering the rumble.
A big pop for R-Truth,he wanted a hot tag to enter the match,so funny.
Huge pop for Cm Punk.
Good ovations for Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn.
👎Bad points:
Little reaction for Shinsuke Nakamura,Santos Escobar,Karrion Kross,Austin Theory,Finn Balor,Bronson Reed,Gunther,Ivar,Omos,Jd McDonough,The Miz,Damien Preist and Ricochet.
They popped for Ludwig Kaiser but booed him when they saw who it was.
Cody Rhodes had to do his full entrance like a goof ball.
No Rock.
Cody Rhodes winning,Cm Punk losing.
