Pajama Party - Star Trek
Tumblr media
A/N: inspired in part by this work of Art, and also by my obsession with cute pajamas. Mostly just a fic about the crew, but had to throw in a little reader x Leonard, cause you know me. Also let’s just pretend JJ is not there.
Pairing: Leonard McCoy x Reader, Enterprise crew x Reader Word Count: 2.5k Synopsis: When the power goes out in the Enterprise, the crew must navigate through the darkened halls in their pajamas to restore power.
You can find all the pajamas in this post here!
When the lights went off, you had just pulled back the covers of your bed.
You gave it a moment. You were in deep space, after all, much farther than anyone had travelled before. Hopefully, this was just a brief glitch as the Enterprise acclimated to the new territory.
A few seconds later, you heard the sound of machinery powering down, and the steady hum of the thrusters stopped.
“Fuck,” you muttered. Emergency lights came on in your room, leading you towards the exit. When the door slid open, you knew that the Enterprise at least had some power. The hallway was littered with bright red emergency lights every few feet, and at every cabin door, a crewmember’s head was popping out.
“What is it, Y/N?” a crewmember three doors down from you asked.
“I don’t know. I’ll see if I can find Jim,” you said. “Everyone just hang here for a while. When there’s an update, you’ll know.”
“Are we in danger?” someone asked.
“No, we are not.” All heads turned towards the opposite end of the hallway where Jim Kirk was strutting towards you. Also dressed in his pajamas, Jim looked as if he had just woken up, with his hair mussed at the back of his head.
“What’s going on?” you asked as he stopped in front of you. His pajamas had you doing a double take. “Is that . . . the Enterprise?” you asked, unable to hide the smile on your face.
“What?” He looked down at his pajamas and a soft blush appeared on his face. He stammered over a response before shaking his head. “Is it wrong for a man to be proud of his ship?”
“When that pride manifests itself like this? Absolutely. You are such a nerd.”
“Oh, come on, like yours are any better,” he said, motioning to the floral pattern of your own pajamas.
“They are. One hundred percent better than yours.”
“So you’re telling me you always dress in matching three piece sets? You weren’t expecting someone, Y/N, were you?”
“Please,” you said with a roll of your eyes. “The only thing I was expecting was a full night of sleep.”
“As was I. So what happened?”
“What, just because I work in engineering you think I know what’s going on?”
“Yeah,” Jim said, looking at you incredulously.
“Fine, I can figure it out. I don’t know what happened just by sound. Let’s go down to engineering.”
“Why do I have to go down, too?” Jim asked, “I really could use a good night’s sleep.”
“How can you take pride in your ship if you don’t help her in her time of need?” you asked, your eyes flashing back to his pajamas.
“Just lead the way,” he said with a roll of his eyes.
As you walked down the halls, you took note of what was still functioning on the Enterprise. You were still standing, so the gravity levels were still normal. Oxygen levels were normal, as was the temperature regulator.
“All necessary functions are still running, meaning that it wasn’t a complete shut down of the system,” you said. “It has to be something with the energy core, then.”
“My thoughts exactly, Ms. Y/L/N.”
You and Jim both turned to see Spock and Uhura walking towards you from the hallway connecting their sector to the main corridor. They were both dressed in pajamas, and when they stepped into the light, your jaws dropped.
“What are you wearing?” Jim asked at the same time that you said, “What’s on your face?”
“Nyota was applying an avocado based facial mask to my skin when the power went out.”
“He has very dry skin,” Nyota said as explanation.
“Does he?” Jim considered, studying his first officer’s face.
“Captain, as interesting as Lieutenant Uhura’s face mask recipe may be, I believe our primary focus should still be on returning the ship’s power.”
“I agree,” you said, tugging on Jim’s arm to lead him back down the hall.
“The energy core has three distinct parts, every few months, these pieces must be rotated to ensure that none of the parts are drained of their full energy, in the case of an emergency. It is my theory that perhaps one of these pieces was not rotated soon enough, and thus was drained of its power, sinking us into this darkness,” Spock explained.
“That sound about right to you?” Jim asked.
“I don’t usually deal with the energy core,” you said, “But yes, I believe Spock’s theory is correct. Once we get down to engineering, we’ll know for sure.”
“And you can fix it?”
“Like I said, I’m not an expert on the energy core. Mr. Scott should be able to, though.”
“Let’s hope Scotty’s awake then,” Jim said.
The turbolift was apparently not deemed a necessity, because when you tried to use it to bring you down to engineering, there was only a hum that came from the doors that never opened.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been this far down here,” Nyota said. “Never walked down here at least.”
“I have,” Jim said. He stopped in his tracks, looking around at the number of doors around your group. He followed the numbers back a few doors before knocking loudly on a door.
“No,” a voice yelled from the other end. Leonard.
“Come on, Bones, I know you heard us.” The door slid open and Leonard stepped out, dressed in a long nightshirt that made your jaw drop.
“How the hell could I not?” he asked. “I’ve heard you coming since you were three levels up. What happened to the power?” he asked, looking at you.
“What are you wearing?”
“Pajamas.”
“You look like Ebenezer Scrooge,” Jim laughed.
“Why did you wake me up if you were just going to make fun of my pajamas?”
“Because I had no idea you would be wearing a dress.”
“It’s not a dr--”
“Gentleman,” Spock said, stepping between the captain and his CMO. “Instead of making comments about each other’s nightwear, perhaps our time would be better spent bringing power back to the ship.”
“Yeah, alright,” Leonard said, rolling his eyes as he stepped away from Jim. “It’s not like yours aren’t even more embarrassing.”
“How are mine more embarrassing than a dress?” Jim asked. “And speaking of pajamas,” he said, turning to Spock, “What are you wearing?”
“My sleepwear falls under Starfleet regulation, as does Dr. McCoy’s. Not only are your pajamas out of regulation, Captain, they are also, by far, the most embarrassing.”
“Okay, okay,” Uhura said, “Let’s just get down to engineering. Clearly, we’re all a little sleep deprived.” You exchanged a glance with her and found the same smirk on her face.
“I never would have taken you as a nightgown person,” you said to Leonard as the rest of the group fell into step around you. He seemed annoyed when he looked at you, but there was a soft smile on his face. You also never would have thought you could be attracted to a man in a nightgown.
“What should I be wearing? Colorful, floral pajamas like you?” he asked.
“Well, mine are a lot cuter.”
“They are,” he said. A slight blush rose in your cheeks, but thanks to the dim red light from the emergency lights, no one noticed it.
“If you two are done flirting,” Jim called. “Can we please just get to engineering.”
“You’re the one who stopped to pick him up,” you said, pointing a thumb at Leonard.
“And you’re the one slowing us down to flirt with him,” he said, “We can blame each other all day.”
“Whatever, let’s just--”
“Captin! Captin!”
The entire group turned to see Chekov and Sulu rushing towards the group. Chekov had been the one to yell, and when he reached the group, he was panting, and sweat was slicking his skin. This was easy to see, because despite a pair of plaid pajama pants, Chekov wasn’t wearing anything. A quick glance at the group, you saw that you weren’t the only one surprised by Chekov’s muscles.
Conversely, Sulu was wearing the exact opposite. Fully clothed, Sulu's pajamas were designed to look like a penguin.
“Ha!” Jim said, pointing to Sulu. “His are more embarrassing than mine!”
“My husband, daughter, and I all got matching ones last Christmas,” he said, “I like to wear them. They remind me of home.”
“Yours are still more embarrassing, Jim,” you said. He waved a hand to shut you up.
“Why did you guys run all the way down here?”
“The ship has dropped out of warp,” Sulu said.
“Are we in friendly space?”
“We’re in unknown space, Captin,” Chekov said with a sigh. “As far as we can tell, there are no nearby life forms.”
“Either way, shields up,” Jim ordered.
“Already done, sir.”
“Good. Now, no more interruptions,” he said. “Let’s go figure this out.”
“All of us?” Leonard asked.
“We’ve all made it this far,” Jim said with a shrug. “I guess we’re all going to engineering.
You were not aware that the ship even had stairs, the thought never crossed your mind that one day you might have to go down twenty flights of them. When the group finally arrived in engineering, you all took a moment to catch your breaths.
“Everyone alright?” Leonard asked. Everyone grumbled in the affirmative.
“What are you all doing down here?” Scotty asked, walking up one of the metal staircases that led deeper into engineering.
“We’re here to fix the energy core,” you said, your eyes widening as he reached the top of the stairs. He was wearing red plaid pajamas, which would have been normal, if not for the matching nightcap on his head.
“If you had one of those you really would be Scrooge,” you muttered to Leonard. He let out a breath of laughter but shook his head.
“What?” Scotty asked.
“What are you wearing?” Jim asked.
“What are you wearing?” Scotty asked, putting his hands on his hips, “I know the Enterprise inside and out, and I wouldn’t even wear those.” The group all tried to stifle their laughter, especially when Jim glared at them.
“Scotty, the energy core.”
“I’m working on it,” he said.
“What’s the holdup?”
“I am missing a piece,” Scotty said sheepishly. “I have Keenser looking for it now, seeing as he is the one who lost it!” he yelled over the railing. “But so far--”
“What does it look like?” Uhura asked. “We can all look for it.”
Scotty described what he was looking for, then set all of you off in different directions of engineering to see who could find it first. You were walking through a section of machinery, all still humming quietly, with lights blinking every few seconds, when you heard a muttered curse.
Turning the corner, you spotted Leonard rubbing his toe as he glared down at a box of supplies. You laughed softly, and he looked up.
“You alright?”
“I’m fine. Just can’t see anything in this mess, even if I knew what I was looking for.”
“Want to search together?” you asked. “I can point out boxes of supplies to you.” He smiled weakly at you but nodded his head.
“Thank you.”
“Of course, anything for--”
“Do not call me Scrooge again,” he said, following you to another shelf of supplies.
“I wasn’t. I was just going to say you,” you said. Leonard kept your gaze for a moment longer than expected. “So, um, I think it might be in this mess here.”
“Mess is right,” Leonard said, jumping on the change of subject. “Who keeps their stuff like this?”
“Oh, that would be me.”
“Ah hell, Y/N, I’m so--”
“Don’t be,” you said, “I know how I work. Maybe if I kept my stuff more organized we all wouldn’t be stuck searching in the dark.”
“You don’t know it’s here,” Leonard said, “Besides, it’s nice.”
“What is?”
“Tonight. I’ve always wanted to have a pajama party with the crew.” You laughed and crouched down to check the lower shelf.
“Found it!” someone called. You looked towards the sound and your eyes locked with Leonard’s.
“Shall we?” he asked, holding out his hand. You took it and let him pull you to your feet. As the two of you walked back towards the group, he didn’t let go of your hand until you were in view of the crew.
“Keenser had it the whole time,” Nyota said, leading Spock and the alien in question into the gathered group. Everyone’s jaws fell open when they saw what Keenser was wearing.
“Where the hell did you get those?” Scotty asked, his face reddening with annoyance as Keenser walked up to the group with the missing piece and a matching pair of pajamas to Scotty’s.
“Scotty, please, it has been a long night,” Jim said.
“Right.” He took the piece from Keenser and within a few minutes, had the energy core back up. It hummed and started to rotate normally again.
“No power though?” Sulu asked.
“The core takes a little while to heat up,” you said, “Unless in emergency situations, the core should be given twenty minutes to return to proper functioning.”
“Why did this even happen in the first place?” Jim asked.
“We switched models last year,” Scotty said. “This one doesn’t need to be swapped every few months, except it wasn’t updated in the ship’s programming. The Enterprise turned it off as a security precaution.”
“So this won’t happen again?”
“No, sir.”
“I’ll make sure the ship is updated first thing in the morning,” you said. Jim let out a sigh and nodded his head.
“Alright. Thank you all for your help. I’ll see you in the morning.”
The group made their way back up the stairs. Jim followed Chekov and Sulu onto their level, muttering something about getting a drink with Chekov. Nyota and Spock said their goodbyes at their level, until it was just you and Leonard.
“Thank you for helping us look,” you said. “Sorry Jim dragged you out of bed.”
“Don’t be,” Leonard said with a wave of his hand. “He usually finds a way to ruin my night one way or another.”
“Did you have plans tonight?”
“No. I intended to make some, but . . .”
“But?”
“I sort of chickened out,” he said, looking at you with a smile.
“What kind of plans? Not a different pajama party?”
“No,” he said with a laugh. “I wanted to ask someone out.”
“Oh.”
“But it’s alright, I got to spend the night with them anyway.”
“Oh,” you said again, your eyes locking with his as he stopped in front of his door.
“Not my idea of a first date,” he said, “But still an enjoyable evening.”
“I agree. So when are you going to get the courage to ask for a second date?”
“Right no--” He stopped talking when you were plunged into darkness, even the emergency lights going out. “What’s the matter now?”
“Nothing. When the core starts up, everything is shut down for two minutes.”
“Really? In that case . . .”
If anyone had been left out in the hall, when the lights came on, they would have found you and Leonard entangled in each other’s arms, in the middle of a hell of a kiss. You broke away with the lights and looked at him, breathless.
“So? A second date?” he asked.
“Yeah, yeah, I’d love to.”
“Me too. Goodnight, Y/N.”
“Goodnight, Leonard.”

Adorkable (Pavel Chekov x Young!Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: [y/n] boards the Enterprise as a new recruit and meets a flustered Pavel Chekov.
Word Count: 2000+ Warnings: reader is like, 15, though it’s probably not possible but that doesn’t really matter; fluffy af :) also cursing but that’s a given  Posted: Tumblr, Wattpad Requested: No
A/n: Sorry if the Russian is incorrect, I used Google translate. I also left some un-translated because some of my favorite Chekov fics made me look it up myself and it made me smile. It’s also more fun that way :)
Today was the day. Today was the day you were finally going to be boarding the Enterprise and working as a full-time ensign, as well as training to be a backup engineer. You were so excited you could barely sleep, and once you woke up the next morning you already had so much energy you had no idea what to do with yourself.
After stress-eating several bowls of [your favorite cereal] and pacing so long you could've worn holes in your floor, it was time to leave your home in San Francisco. You smoothed out your new gold uniform, making sure it wasn't riding up and tugged on your boots. Deeming yourself acceptable, you grabbed your things and left.
After reveling in the beauty of the massive starship, you boarded successfully and started looking for your quarters. You had to admit you were a little self-conscious. The Enterprise had already been flying for five months and everybody seemed to know each other already. You clutched your backpack straps, keeping your head down as you navigated through the crowd of officers.
Chekov stood awkwardly by Sulu who was talking with someone he had never met. He scanned the crowd, seeing the same usual faces... Except for one. Her [hair length] [hair color] hair shielded her face for a moment until she suddenly looked up and scanned the room. Butterflies exploded in his chest, sending his heart pumping at a furious pace as he caught a glimpse of her features. He was unable to move, unable to breathe, as the same four words echoed in his mind.
You're in love.
She suddenly made eye contact and her face burst into pink and she hastily looked away, causing his own face to redden as he averted his eyes. Unfortunately, Sulu noticed.
"Hey, it was nice talking to you, but I gotta go," he waved goodbye to the person he was talking with and dragged Chekov to the side.
"Who are you looking at?" he smirked.
"N-no one," Chekov tried desperately to get his heartbeat to calm down. "It's nothing."
"Okay, I know that you know that I'm 'batting for the other team'," Sulu made quotes with his fingers. "But I really want to know who you're looking at. Is it someone I know?"
Chekov shook his head. "I've never seen her before." Sulu sighed.
"What color uniform does she have?" he asked.
"Gold," Chekov gulped. "Like us."
"Excellent," Sulu snickered. "Easier to find."
" о боже, помоги мне, " Chekov muttered. (Oh god, help me)
You scurried down a random hall, gripping your PADD with a map of the Enterprise in one hand and the other randomly twirling the hem of your dress.
What just happened?
That boy was outrageously attractive and he was staring at you. You tried your best to brush it off and continue to find your quarters. The captain had requested that you meet him on the bridge so he could let you know what you were supposed to do and you really did not want to show up with your face a blushing mess and your backpack.
When you finally found it, you tossed your backpack down, splashed water on your face, and you were back out the door. Your heart raced and your palms were sweaty as you entered the turbolift.
"Bridge, please," you said, trying to sound confident. The lift went faster than you expected and before you knew it the doors hissed open to reveal the busy space.
Quickly remembering protocol, you called; "Permission to enter the bridge, sir?"
The captain turned around, immediately grinning.
"Ah, Ensign [y/l/n]! So glad you made it aboard," ha pat you on the shoulder. "Let me introduce you to some people."
Does he do this with all the crew?
"Bones, this is Ensign [y/l/n], the fifteen-year-old Ensign I told you about!" Kirk led you over to a tired looking man arguing with a Vulcan. They both looked up when you approached.
"Dammit Jim, since when are we letting fifteen-year-olds join the crew?" Bones grumbled. "Chekov's seventeen and I'm already fed up."
"This is our Cheif Medical Officer, Bones McCoy," Jim introduced.
"The name's Leonard," he muttered, sticking his hand out to shake. You gladly shook it.
"And this here is the First Officer, Commander Spock."
"Pleased to meet you, Ensign," he greeted. "I understand that you have taken the record of youngest Starfleet officer, am I correct?"
"I understand that you have taken the record of youngest Starfleet officer, am I correct?"
Chekov tensed.
That was my record.
He stood up suddenly to approach the person who had taken his prized possession but stopped in his tracks.
дерьмо. (Shit)
It was her. It was the girl from before. Before he could go back to his seat unnoticed, the captain called him over.
"Keep cool," Chekov muttered, getting desperate to calm his reddening face. He tried not to look her way, in fear he would freeze up like the last time he beheld her.
"Ensign [your full name], this is Ensign Pavel Chekov," Kirk introduced.
He finally allowed himself to look at her, which was an immediate mistake. Her smile launched butterflies in his stomach and, if it was possible, his eyes reflected hearts.
"Hi! It's nice to meet you Pavel!" she beamed at him, and held out her hand. Chekov shook his head slightly and reached out to shake her hand.
" Это хорошо для - I mean, Its good to meet you," He stuttered awkwardly, muttering, "Я испортил это." (I messed it up)
"You too!"
"Chekov, sorry to tell you this but this Ensign has beaten your record for 'youngest crew member'," Kirk said with a grin. "I'm lucky to have the two youngest members of Starfleet aboard my ship!"
"Wait, how old are you, if you don't mind me asking?" she cocked her head a bit as she looked up at him.
О боже, почему она такая красивая.
"I-umm," he struggled.
"He's seventeen," Kirk winked at him.
"Wow! Seventeen! That's amazing!"
Oh god, that smile.
"Ты великолепен (you’re wonderful)- I mean, you're amazing," they both turned red. "I- I mean that you're amazing for getting in at fifteen."
"Thank you," she smiled sheepishly.
"Chekov why don't you escort Ensign [last name] to her quarters," Kirk instructed slyly.
Sulu didn't tell him, did he?
дерьмо.(Shit)
"O-of course Keptin," Chekov stuttered. He was gonna kill Sulu.
"Thank you," Kirk clapped her on the back and started walking away. "Have fun you two, but not too much fun."
They both stood there awkwardly.
"Um- ladies first," Chekov said when the turbolift opened.
"Thanks," she said softly. The lift was silent before you started speaking.
"So, you're the navigator?" She asked him.
"да- I mean, yes," Chekov cursed himself. "I am also shadowing the Cheif Engineer."
"Hey me too!" she said, smiling. "I actually have to go down there next... Do you wanna come with?"
"S-Sure," Chekov gave a small smile. "I would love too."
"Great!"
There were a couple moments of silence.
"Are you-" she started.
"How did-" Chekov interrupted.
"Sorry!" they both said at the same time.
"You first," she giggled as the turbolift opened.
"No, ladies first," he insisted, smiling as he let you out of the turbolift first.
"Okay fine then," she sighed. "Are you from Russia? I mean of course you are- I mean-"
"It's okay," Chekov chuckled. "I am from Russia. I was born there in 2241."
"I see," she nodded. "I was born in [birthplace], 2244."
"You're fifteen, yes?" Chekov asked.
"Yeah, but I'm turning sixteen in a few weeks," she replied. "Anyway, your turn. What were you going to say?"
"Oh, uh," Chekov rubbed the back of his neck. "I was going to ask how your parents let you join Starfleet so young. Mine barely let me go to America."
"Well it took a lot of convincing by me and my teachers, but once I skipped to the ninth grade when I was ten, my parents agreed to enroll me," she explained.
"That is amazing," Chekov blushed at his words. "Well, we are in engineering. This is where I leave you."
"I'll see you later?" she cocked her head to the side again, making Chekov's insides turn to mush.
"да- I mean, yes," he stuttered. "I can meet you for dinner?"
"Its a date then!" and she disappeared into engineering.
Your face was so hot you were sure it would explode. Grateful for the door that now separated you from Chekov, you started towards the Cheif Engineer's office.
Once you got there, he shook your hand and started explaining a whole bunch of things that he was going to teach you later and started showing you around the basic parts of engineering. You couldn't focus. All you could think of was Pavel and how flustered he looked when you looked him in the eye. Four words bounced around your mind for the duration of Scotty's tour.
You're in love.
"Well, that seems to be it. Your first day down here will be in a few days. You'll know the exact date later," he concluded, handing you your PADD back. "Can't wait to work with you, [l/n]."
"You too Mr. Scott," you smiled at him before moving away. Your thoughts went back to your dinner "date" with Pavel, and your cheeks flushed. Unsure when dinner was, you looked on the map on your PADD.
                                                  ~спустя два дня~
                                                    (two days later)
You waited patiently for your new best friend on the ship by the turbolift. You were both going to shadow Scotty for the day, and you were anxious and excited to work next to him.
"[Y/n]!" He called as he jogged up to you.
"Hey Pavel!" you greeted cheerfully, getting into the turbolift. "Ready to be a shadow?"
"You bet!" he replied stepping in after you.
The ride was short but sweet, and before you knew it you were standing in front of Scotty.
"Okay, here are the rules," he said. "No running near the warp core, don't mess with the tools, and don't be making out while I'm not looking."
Both your faces erupted into blushing messes.
"Alright, off we go," Scotty waved over his shoulder as he walked away. You hurried after him.
Forty minutes in, you were bored to death. You could tell Pavel was too, judging by his slouching shoulders and sagging eyelids. Scotty barely did anything; signing reports, checking in on his underlings, etcetera, etcetera.
"Hey," he whispered. "I have an idea."
"I'm down for anything. Just end my suffering," you whispered back. He nodded.
"Mister Scott?" Chekov called.
"What is it, lad?" Scotty replied, looking slightly irritated.
"Can [y/n] and I take a break?" he asked, flashing his puppy eyes.
"Oh- alright. Just don't tell the captain," he warned though laughter twinkled in his eyes.
"Yay!" you and Pavel cheered. He grabbed your hand and started running in the other direction.
"Thanks, Mister Scott!" he called over his shoulder.
"No prob- Hey! No running...." he trailed off at the sounds of your laughter before chuckling to himself. "Kids these days."
"So, what are we doing?" you giggled, trying not to think of how perfectly Pavel's hand fit into yours.
"Jefferies Tube C," he huffed, still running. "The gravity control doesn't work there."
"So in other words," you smiled. "It's fun."
"Precisely," Chekov slowed to a stop, still gripping your hand. "Here's the entrance."
You climbed up the ladder first, praying you remembered to wear booty shorts under your uniform. You barely got the latch open before you felt your feet lift off the ladder rung.
"Whoa!" You yelped, gripping the latch as your feet rose higher, tipping you upside down.
"It's okay," Pavel chuckled, pushing himself lightly into the tube. "Here, grab my hand."
You blushed as you gripped his hand with one of yours and let go of the handle.
"You can do it," he encouraged. You nodded, slowly letting go of his hand. Before you knew it, you were flipping around and laughing your head off.
"Now you've got it!" He laughed.
You smiled at him, head full of bliss and heart fluttering.
"Thank you."
"You're always welcome."
                                              ~две недели спустя~
                                                 (two weeks later)
"I can't believe I'm doing this," Chekov grumbled as Sulu thrust a pink rose in his hand.
"You'll do great!" Sulu enthused, leading his friend into the dining hall. "There she is!"
Spending two weeks with his best-friend/ love of his life had been amazing and fun. But he couldn't wait anymore. He had to know.
Pavel's heart raced in his chest as he looked at her standing there. The mess hall was not the place he wanted to do this. He pushed the thornless stem of the rose into his waistband and quickly walked over to her.
"Hey, Pavel-"
"Follow me," he said, putting his hand on the small of her back as he led her out of the busy room.
"Pavel- where are we going?" she asked, struggling to keep up with him.
"It's a surprise," he said, tilting his head down at her small form and grinning. His cheeks turned pink at the sight of hers doing the same.
Once he found the room he was looking for, anxiety spiked through him.
I am really going to do this.
"Wow! Is this the astronomy room?" you gasped, looking around in wonder at the galaxy in front of you.
"Y-yes it is," Pavel stuttered. "[Y/n] I... Uh."
"What is it Pav?" you asked, cocking your head. His grip of the rose stem tightened.
"I-I just-" without thinking, he thrust the rose out in front of him and squeezed his eyes shut.
She's going to reject me. He thought desperately.
Oh God, she's going to reject me.
Instead of being slapped or hearing footsteps run from the room as he expected, he felt a hand cover his on the rose and soft lips touch his. His eyes fluttered open, but seeing hers tightly shut he closed them again. She pulled away.
"S-sorry-"
"No!" he interrupted, giving a soft laugh. "That's what I hoped would happen."
She beamed.
"Will you go on a date with me?" he asked sheepishly.
"Of course," she nodded. "Pasha."
With that, Pavel attacked her lips once again.

Kelvin!Pavel Chekov x Ensign!Reader: Room
Tumblr media
Summary: Help is on the way!
Rating/Warnings/Tags: All
Challenge: "160 Collective Drabbles" challenge by BobaPop on Lunaescence Archives.
Notes: I don’t write out accents. Also, I wrote this after having only seen Star Trek (2009) and Into Darkness. I have tried to make some corrections now that I’ve become a true Trekkie, but it’s still not going to mesh perfectly with any universe.
Room
You began your studies at Star Fleet Academy at a very young age--far from the youngest student ever, but still much younger than the majority of your peers. Studying and learning came naturally to you (especially since there weren’t many students interested in socializing with you). By the end of your second term, there was a bit of kerfuffle over which career path you should take. Just about any had been open to you…except navigation. It became clear from your first day onward that you couldn’t find your way out of a dead-end transporter room with directions.
You’d missed your entire first day at the Academy by accidentally leaving the state. You only arrived at graduation just in time, having inadvertently ended up at a local high school’s. And now it was happening again: Your very first evening on the Enterprise, and you didn’t know up from down.
Wherever you were, it could not be the right place. Your blue uniform was almost entirely washed away in a sea of red and yellow. The few fellow pinpricks of blue you spotted did not respond to your calls for help. Trying to follow them just got you more lost than ever.
After nearly an hour of aimless wandering, you started to get a little more than panicked. Your first shift didn’t start until the next morning, but how were you supposed to tell when the next morning arrived? At this rate, you were never even going to find your room. You were going to end up lost for five whole years. They’d find your decomposing body while cleaning the ship when it returned!
Fear was the enemy of concentration, but by then you didn’t care. You’d ended up in some hallway that remained empty, save for when some of the engineers sped past with a piece of heavy machinery. As the third such group in so many minutes passed, you seriously considered throwing yourself into their path so as to avoid the shame of never showing up for work. They were gone before you could.
You had no other options, then. You found a wall, sat against it, and then blanked out. For how long, you didn’t really know. The point of the exercise was to disconnect long enough to remain unaffected by your situation. Before you could really get that far, however, someone woke you up by roughly shaking your shoulder.
“Huh? What? I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to be late!” you squeaked as your eyes flew open.
Crouching before you and looking slightly concerned was a young man about your age with thick curly hair and a shirt in Command Gold.
“Are you okay?” he asked in such a thick Russian accent that you almost didn’t think to listen to his next question: “Why are you crying in the hallway?”
Crying? You had meant to stop your crying, but when you lifted your wrist to your cheek, it was indeed wet. “I…I…I…”
His smooth brow crinkled with concern; you felt his fingers contract around your shoulder. “Do you need to see a doctor?”
“No!” you blurted, then had to pause for the rush of relief you felt after managing to complete a sentence, one word though it might have been. The young man blinked. You could feel the heat finally fading from your cheeks. “I’m just…lost.”
“Lost?” he repeated.
Was that a question or was he just echoing the sound? It seemed to you as though he could speak English perfectly well. Not to mention that he didn’t look like he’d grown up on some backwater planet that would require several updates to the Universal Translator for the two of you to communicate. Whatever the problem, he was the first friendly face you’d seen, and he was close enough in age to you (at least in appearance) that maybe he would help you instead of mock you.
“I can’t find my room.” The words sort of chipped out of you, slow and splintered. People were used to you succeeding and excelling; admitting your drastic lack of direction always made you feel embarrassed.
The man nodded his head once and gestured for you to continue. “Where is it?”
“Where is what?” If you knew where your bedroom was, you wouldn’t be in this mess.
“What section is your room in?” he said slowly, as though English was your second language.
“I, uh…” Your fingers scrambled through the front pocket of your bag–more for something to take your mind off your nerves than anything else. You’d long since memorized the actual number. Still, you pulled out the scrap of paper and rattled off, “D950-29.”
You expected him to point you in the right direction (which wouldn’t help at all) and then leave. What you got instead was an immediate change of expression. He beamed, moved his hand to yours, and, before you could so much as ask what he was so pleased about, yanked you to your feet and took off running with his vice-grip still around your fingers.
“I can do that!” he shouted over his shoulder, as though that explained what in the world was going on.
All you could do was slip and skid after him while clutching your bag with all of your might. Soon you’d made it back to the more populated area. The workers dove this way and that in a mad attempt to get out of your way. A few even called after you, wanting to know just what it was you thought you were doing.
“S-Sorry!” you cried back, but by then you were always too far away for them to hear.
The young man led you though four different sectors and five turbolifts, barely pausing for breaks even in the latter. Your legs burned and your lungs ached; you couldn’t catch your breath long enough to ask what was going on. You were just beginning to regret asking for help (sort of…he’d really done it all on his own) when he came to a very sudden halt. The prior momentum he had going sent you several steps past him, but he graciously brought you to a stop before releasing your hand at last.
Still puffing and huffing, it took you a few minutes to finally look up and gather your surroundings. When you did, you realized that you were nowhere near where you’d been ten minutes before. The boy, looking much less out of breath than you were, grinned and threw his arm out toward a marker beside the door.
“D950-29!” he exclaimed.
Hardly daring to believe it, you looked from the now-sweaty paper in your hand to the room’s sign and back again. Sure enough, they matched. “How did you–”
“Ensign Pavel Chekov.” He thrust his hand out toward you, and you took it without thinking. “Tactical officer and navigator.”
Tactical officer? At his age? Forget what everyone was always saying about you. Ensign Chekov was really something. In fact, you were a little star-struck and could only manage staring at him as you introduced yourself.
He did not seem to notice. All he did was smile again in response, and patted your shoulder. “Will you be okay now? No more crying in the halls?”
“I…” You swallowed, really wishing that you could achieve saying something that didn’t make you look like a first-class idiot in front of him. “Yes. And no. I mean–no more crying in the hallways. Until tomorrow, when I get lost again.”
“I will have someone come help you. Your shift starts at 0600, yes?”
“Yes, but–”
Ensign Chekov watched you expectantly, but the next bit of your sentence wouldn’t come. As much you wanted to reject the offer, you wanted more not to have a repeat of this incident in less than twenty-four hours. The last thing you needed was to become known as “that ensign that always loses their way.”
So, instead of speaking, you screwed up your courage long enough to peck him on the cheek. “Thank you so much.”
You darted through the nearby door before you could see his reaction. The kiss had been meant as a polite gesture, but what if he thought you were insubordinate? Thirty seconds passed before you could bring yourself to stand on your tiptoes and peek out the peephole. When you did, Ensign Chekov was walking away, but you saw him–just once–turn around to look back, with yet another smile on his face.

Pavel Chekov, your boyfriend, embraced you one last time, before he had to embark on the USS Enterprise. You pulled him closer and sweetly kissed him once more, reluctant to let him go.
“I have to go” he said sadly. You knew duty was calling him, but the separation wasn’t any easier.
“I know” you almost just whispered, as you layed your head on his shoulder, still not letting him out of your embrace, where he was safe and here, with you. Above you could here the last call for everybody to occupy their position, the shuttles were leaving just in a few minutes. You slowly stepped back, but your arms still hold onto his shoulders. “Please be careful”
“I am always careful” he exclaimed with a smile spreading on his lips. You chuckled at his statement, he could always make you smile even in the most serious situations, he was your sunshine. “But don’t you forgot about me while I am gone” he voiced his half-serious, half-joke worries.
“How could I?” you laughed softly “You are the most amazing person I have ever meet” you reassured him. When he didn’t seem convinced, you take his face between your hands and averted his gaze to look into your eyes. “Hey, look at me, it doesn’t matter how far you are, if you are at the other end of the galaxy, because you will be always here with me, in my heart, because I love you Pavel Chekov” you said, your eyes never leaving his. The smile finally returned to his face.
“I love you too, [y/n]” he kissed you one last time, before he had to leave. You stepped back and watched as he jogged to the entrance of shuttle. He looked back before boarding the ship, sending a last smile your way, you smiled back, but when you lost sight of him, your tears threatened to fall. It’s going to be a long few months, but every moment of the wait will be worth it, just so you can see his smile again.

Brighter than the sun (Part 10/10)
So this is it. This is the last chapter. I'm a little bit sad that this story found it's end. But it was a long journey to get here. Too long sadly. Even longer for me posting this also on Tumblr when it has been on AO3 for nearly a year.
I hope you enjoyed it and my mistakes weren't as bad as it seems to me. Friendly reminder at this point that English ist not my mother tongue. And I tend to make mistakes.
I would like to say thank you to the kudos and the few comments. Thank you very much for it! This means a lot to me!
At the end I have a tiny little wish: maybe if you have a few minutes it would help me if you could leave a comment on how you think the story was and if it was good to read or found some mistakes. Thank you very much!
Here you can find the last part
Warning: no warnings yet
Word count: 4492
Part: 10/10
Translation:
пожалуйста (pozhaluysta) - Please
The weeks passed, the Enterprise was nearly rebuild. Over these weeks you got closer to the crew because all of you'd met frequently at a bar to chat if you not met through your work at the station. Uhura and you've got the closest. You've became really close friends and you were really happy about that.
It was one of these nights you met with the whole crew at the bar, having some drinks and fun. You were sitting along with Uhura, Scotty and Sulu at a table. Scotty was talking about something Keenser happened a few days ago while they worked on the Enterprise. The poor one got sick again and refused to see the doctor even though it was obvious that he had a high fever. So it happened that Scotty had to catch him in a 'very 21st century movie worth move' (his words) before he would have fell down several meters – from what you assumed would have been just like 3 meters, but you didn't want to ruin his heroic story. Since then Keenser was tied up in med bay and wasn't allowed to leave for about another two days.
Sadly Pavel wasn't able to attend this evening with you because he was sent on a little mission at the side of Kirk and Spock to escort some important Andorian politician from Yorktown to a nearer planet for some negotiations with their population. He was just gone for a few days but you missed him already. As you found the solid ground for you friendship again and built an even stronger friendship than before, you couldn't help but being constantly by his side and missing him even just minutes after you had to separate. The others joked about you two being like one person actutally.
But by all the saying that you were just friends and acted like them, something between the two of you changed. It was strange that you somehow knew how Pavel was feeling some times. When he was down without showing it you knew. When he was overwhelmed by your sheer present you knew. And you gave him just what he needed. Whether it was a friendly ear, a shoulder to cry on or some space. You gave it to him just because you knew he needed it. It was just a mystery to you how this was actually possible.
As Sulu and Scotty were about to get a new round of drinks Uhura leaned into you with a little smile. “You miss him, aren't you?”
You looked at her a little bit confused. Of course she knew what was going on inside you. Sometimes you thought that she was able to read your mind because it seemed like she knew more than you. “How is it possible you be so calm with Spock not by your side? And I mean...Pavel is just my friend.”
The smirk appearing on her face made you even more confused. But you knew that smirk it was often followed by a 'Sure you're just friends?'. Not this time. “I just do. You know, over the years the bond between me and Spock grew quite strong. So strong that it allows us to send just short little telepathic messages to know the other is alright. It's rare that soulmates are able to do that and it takes sometimes decades to develop this power but here we are. Whenever he feels that I need comfort by him he reaches out to me.” She was right, not every soulmate couple was able to do this. As far as you knew it not only needed a strong bond between the two but also one part must been capable of telepathy. Spock as a Vulcan was.
“Wish I had something similar...” You admitted with a shy smile. You know that its was really rare to find you soulmate. But you knew that it was possible.
“Just take a look to what you have. Chekov is mad about you. All you have to do is to let it happen.”
“I'm not in lo...” You stopped yourself in midsentence. Suddenly you felt this warm feeling inside combined with some excitement. Where was this coming from?
“(Y/N), everything okay?” Quickly you shook your head to get you out of this thought.
“Uhm, yea. Sorry just got this strange feeling. But it's okay and gone.” Whatever it was again you needed to focus. “As I wanted to say I'm not in love with him so it won't happen. We're just friends and will always be.”
Gladly the both men came back before Uhura could say anything against your statement. It was a topic you liked to avoid because it made you feel a little bit uncomfortable. So the drinks Sulu was arranging right in front of your were just the perfect distraction you needed. Immediately you took one glass and raised it. “To this wonderful evening and never ending alcohol!” The other started to laugh but raised their glasses too. With one gulp you emptied you glasses.
“I see my crew knows how to get themselves off!” A familiar voice shouted from the entrance of the bar. The four of you turned your heads toward it. But actually that wasn't necessary because you all knew that it could have been only one person. It was your captain. And by his side was Spock. You felt your heart sinking because there was no sign of Pavel. Disappointment spread through your veins followed by worries that something happened. But wouldn't Kirk otherwise look heavy-hearted or so?
The both of them walked towards your table. Spock took immediately the empty seat next to Uhura, while Kirk took the one next to Scotty. With a bright smile he looked at all of you. “Hope you all are still in for more drinks. Sorry that we arrive so late but well the flight back wasn't very pleasant.”
As you stood up to excuse you because you wanted to leave – not saying that you wanted to look for Pavel – you stepped exactly next to your seat when someone was arriving so that you nearly run into them. “Oh sorry!” Gladly to your and their reflexes there was no bumping into each other. It would been a mess because their were having a lot of drinks on a serving trail.
When you looked up to the person you felt your heart jumping again. Damn heart why was it always doing this? It was just Pavel, even though the sight of him made you really happy. Maybe you could trow your intention to looking for him over.
“You're leaving?” He said with a questioning look.
“Uhm no I just...uhm needed to use the restroom” You lied though you know that at least Uhura wouldn't buy this accuse. With a smile he stepped aside so you could pass. Quickly you took the way to the restrooms. You looked into the mirror and wondered what just happened these past weeks with you. More and more you found yourself thinking of Pavel when he wasn't by your side. When he was your heart was beating so fast. You could tell that you were not in any way inn love with him. Shaking you head you splashed some water into your face and took a deep breath. Then you left the restroom again and headed for your table.
All of them were laughing. In the absence of empty seats Pavel took yours. When you came nearer he made the attempt to stand up for you but you gestured towards him that he should keep on his seat. Quite natural you sat down on his lap and smiled at him. “You don't mind, do you?” As he smiled at you and laid his hand down at your hip to keep you from falling down all he did was nodding. You laid one of your arms around his shoulder and neck and smiled back. “Glad that you're back!” A slightly cough came from across the table. You turned your head to look at Kirk. “Of course I'm also glad that you're back, Jim!” Everyone started laughing again.
“That's good. For a tiny moment I thought my Stellar Cartographer doesn't care about me.” Kirk joked and raised his glass. “To this wonderful crew I call my family! Cheers!” All of you raised your glasses and drank.
The night was so much fun with the guys joking around and you and Uhura rocking the dance floor. The more you drank the more loose you became. The glaces some males gave you and Uhura didn't bother you anymore, the both of you ignored them and just had a wonderful time. The only glance you couldn't ignore was Pavel's. It was the only glance you wanted to feel on you right now. And to keep it on you you caught yourself some times that you put on a little show for him. It wasn't probably the best - thinking about his feelings for you – but you couldn't help wanting his attention. The fault for this was only on him. Why didn't he changed out of the formal uniform he was wearing? It made him look so damn good and handsome. More than once you found yourself checking him out and biting your lip. You blamed the alcohol for this, being sure that if you would be sober you wouldn't act that way.
One by one the others left until it was just Kirk, Pavel and you. Though there were now plenty of empty seats you decided to keep on sitting in Pavel's lap. It was way more comfortable than any seat. And he wasn't complaining so what. But the time came that tiredness overwhelmed you and you had a hard time to keep awake. It wasn't unnoticed by the two others so they called it a night and left the bar.
Of course Pavel didn't let you walk home by yourself so he insisted to bring you to your quarter. What a gentleman he was. So perfect. When you reached your quarter he even came inside with you. You turned on the light just enough that you could see where to walk but low enough to not let it blind you. It gave your room a strange atmosphere. When you turned to look at Pavel you could swear that the air got hotter. In the pale light he looked even better than at the bar. The outlines of his face got more defined and hard. His eyes seemed to glow. It felt like something was magically pulling you towards him. But you resisted. Kind of.
“What in the name of god did I've done to deserve you in my life?” You whispered, not sure if he was able to hear. “You're too perfect, too precious for this word. I don't deserve to have you in my life because I'm such a horrible person.” Even though it was so dark in the room you could see his face tensing up than soften again. His hand reached out to lay down on your check, slowly stroking.
“You're not horrible.” He was wrong. Maybe he couldn't see or didn't wanted to. But you were hurting him all the time. You could see it, feel it. You provoked it tonight at the bar while you were dancing just for him. While sitting on his lap, your hand in his hair. You played with his feelings although you didn't want to.
“Why me? Why do you love me, Pasha? There are so many women out there. So many who are way better than me. Who don't hurt you. Why me?” When he wanted to disagree you laid a finger on his lips to hush him. You weren't finished yet. Maybe the alcohol made you saying things you always kept for yourself. “And why can't I get away from you? Why are you always on my mind since you came back into my life? Stop being there. I get head aches because you're permanently in there. Stop making me confused by it. Stop making my heart pounding so hard in my chest. Stop making me feel these strange things.” Your finger left his lips, wandering down his chin along his jawline. Down his throat. Over his chest. Playing with the Starfleet badge. “Why didn't you changed before you came to the bar? This uniform was way to overdressed for it. It makes you sexier than you should be. It makes me wanting to get it off you so bad. And I shouldn't feel this way. You're my best friend.”
Slowly you looked up to him. The expression in his eyes took your breath. His eyes were screaming at you full of hunger and lust but also full of love. Automatically you're thighs pressed together as if they could stop the warm, wet feeling that spread through your lower body. The alcohol may had given you the strength to speak your mind but your body was reacting all by itself.
Minutes passed without no one of you saying anything. You kept staring into each others eyes. All the talking was done. There were no words left to say. Without you doing anything you body started moving towards Pavel. One step towards him was needed to stand right in front of him. Your breast touching his chest. Your hand which was laying on the badge on his chest was moving upward, curling around his neck. He was not so much bigger than you but enough for you to get on your toes while you were dragging him down. It took just a split second then your lips touched.
First the kiss was sweet nearly shy. Then it grew more wilder, hungrier. Pavel put his arms around your waist, brought you more to him. You wrapped your arms around his neck to pull yourself closer to him. There had been many first kisses in your life before but non has felt like this. Somehow you felt like you were flying high above the clouds. Everything spun around you. You started to feel dizzy. You really needed to get some air so you broke the kiss. Neither of you opened their eyes for several moments. Afraid of losing this magical moment. Then you slowly open yours seeing that Pavel did just the same. Even in this pale light you could see that his cheeks were flushed. The sight of it made you arouse even more. You couldn't hide your desire anymore.
“I want you”It came harshly out of your mouth. You wanted to kiss him again but this time it was him stopping you. Backing off you looked at him with confusion. Was there anything you did wrong? It wasn't possible that he didn't want you because it was obvious.
“This is something I was dreaming of for so long” His confession sounded like there was something unsaid in it. Something you didn't want to hear. He put a hand on your head to let run through your hair. “You can't imagine how long. But you're drunk and I don't want to take advantage of it.” Another pause. His eyes drifted of to his hand which was still running through your hair. Actually you didn't feel drunk anymore. You felt much more sober after this kiss. The only drunk you were was drunk on him. But when he looked at you again you knew that the moment between was over. “You should go to sleep. And if you still want this in the morning when you're sober, I'll be waiting for you. Like I always do.” His last words were more a whisper than speaking out loud.
Without any other word he lead you to your bed, helped you out of your dress and into a way more comfortable sleeping shirt. When you laid down on your bed he gently covered you with you blanket. He kissed your temple before wishing you good night.
Just before he was about to leave you raised your voice again and called out for him: “Stay!” You weren't sure it was loud enough for him to hear because you drifted into a deep sleep right away.
-
After a few hours you woke up with a little head ache. The hangover wasn't as bad as you expected. Laying there in bed, staring at the ceiling you thought about what happened last night. You had a lot of fun and alcohol. A few jokes by Scotty or Kirk came to your mind and made you grin. And then there was a lot of dancing with Uhura. And there was Pavel. You sitting in his lap, running you fingers through his hair. Him escorting you home. His hungry eyes. And then the kiss. A moan escaped your throat by the sheer thought about it. His lips have been so soft but rough at the same time. His tongue in your mouth had been perky. His arm around your waist that'd pulled you as close as possible. You'd wanted him so bad, you'd been so wet for him. But he'd been the wiser one of you. Had pushed you away even if it has been obvious that he wanted you so bad too.
You sat up, seeing that the bed next to you was empty. Disappointment spread out inside you. So he didn't stayed. Of course he didn't. Probably the torture would have been to much for him. But he said that if you still wanted him in the morning he'd be there waiting. Why did he always torture himself with such a promise? He should have walked away from his feelings a long time ago. It would have been the best for him. You weren't good for him.
Slowly you got out of bed. Your dress was neatly rested on the stool nearby your bed. But there was something else. You walked towards it to get a better look just to discover it was the uniform Pavel was wearing last night. Was he still here? The sound of steady breathing was the instant answer to that unspoken question. When you walked around to your living area and the couch standing there you found him sleeping on it. He wasn't wearing more than a Tshirt and boxer briefs. The thin blanket he probably used to cover himself was laying half on the ground and was twined around his legs. So he did stayed. But as a gentleman as he was he kept his distance to you presumable because it could have been that you regret what happened the night before. Smiling you shook your head because he was really the sweetest guy in this universe.
You really should regret what happened but somehow you just felt happy. And truth to be told you knew the reason of it. Whatever made you push the fact aside that you had actual feelings for is guy. Not the feelings you had for you best friend. No you actually liked him a lot more than a friend. At some point and you don't know when you really fell in love with him. How could you have been so blind? Even after Uhura pointed it out to you so many times. You've been such a dumb-ass.
Slowly you got on your knees in front of him and watched him sleeping for a while. He looked so peaceful and beautiful. His hair was a mess, his Tshirt was a little bit shove up so his abs where visible and this little trail of darker hair which disappeared into his boxer briefs. You had to bit down on your lip to not moan at this view especially at the sight of his slightly arousal. How was it possible that you resisted him for so long?
Gently you started to run your fingers through his hair. They felt so soft . With a quiet grunt Pavel started to wake up. Wrinkles appeared between his eyebrows and on his forehead before he slowly opened his eyes. After he blinked a few times to see properly he turned his head towards you. A tired but happy smile came into sight.
“Vat time is it?” His voice was still a little bit throaty from sleep. Did he always sound like this when he wakes up? You hoped so because it sounded good combined with his Russian accent.
“I don't know. Probably still to early to get up. But I had enough sleep to sober up...” You eyes were searching for his, looking for a reaction before you continued. “I hope you're still up for your offer.” It took some time for him to put the words together and realize the meaning behind them. As his eyes grew big you knew that he got it. He slowly got up keeping his eyes on you. They were asking you silently if you were absolutely sure. All you could do was giving a quick nod before getting up, straddling him and kissed him with all that desire you felt. His arms came around you, pulling you closer while petting you back. Your heart burst into flames because of the pleasure you felt.
Moans escaped both of your throats as you started to roll your hips in his lap, his arousal clearly growing bigger. Both of you were very hungry and not really patient at the moment. You broke the kiss and nearly at the same time pulled of Pavel's shirt as he done with yours. It was very surprising how fast he undid your bra and tossed it away to your shirt. He bent down to take one of you nipple into his mouth. He sucked at it briefly before he let his tongue to lick at it. You let a little scream get out. A hand of yours gripped automatically in his hair. How was it possible that he pushed you just the right way the first time? It was like he knew exactly what you needed and wanted.
Your hips started to move a little faster in need. His groan sent a shiver down your you spine. You got up just enough to get a hand between the two of you and grab his dick through the fabric of his boxer briefs. Stroking him fast and hard just before he laid his hands on your hips, lifted you up just to press you down on the couch. A surprised gasp came off you. You were on the edge and you needed him right now. And by the look in his eyes he was exactly the same. So you got up to pull down his boxer briefs with his help. In a blink he also helped you out of your panties and spread your legs. Then he hesitated and looked at you. You could tell that he wanted to make sure that it was really what you wanted.
“Pasha, пожалуйста (pozhaluysta)! I need you right now!” Your begging came out harshly. He nodded before he bent down and kissing you wild. As you wrapped your arms around his neck, he carefully he pushed inside you. Instinctively you dug your nails into his back. The feeling of him inside you was nothing you ever felt before. It was like he fit perfectly, like your body was made just for him. Both of you moaned loudly when he pushed fully inside you. For a brief moment he just stayed in this position, looking into your eyes. You did the same with a smile on your face. This moment was just perfect.
Slowly Pavel began to pull out of you just to push back inside. Again you moaned loudly. It felt so good having him inside you. You began to move against him. It took you some time to find a common pace but as you did it started to feel even better for both of you. Never had you such a pleasure while having sex with someone. Everything seemed to be better with Pavel. Way better.
You were looking into each others eyes while riding each other towards your climaxes. It wouldn't last much longer. Pavel again bent down to you to kiss you quickly and the kissed down your throat and neck. You laid your head on the side to give him more space. His strokes got more rapid and hard as the nearer you came your climaxes.
And then he did something you haven't expected. He bit down on the space between you neck and shoulder. The pain running through you body hurt but also gave you some extra pleasure. You dug your nails again into his back surely leaving some marks. But it was the only way to ease the other feeling that suddenly rose inside you. It was like something inside you loosened and connected to something inside Pavel. It was like you were becoming one. And so felt your climax. You came along with Pavel in a way you never experienced.
When he let got of the part he just bit down to, he gently kissed it. You tried to steady your breath as Pavel did. Exhaustion made him lay own on you a little bit, trying not to lay to much weight on you. Your hands rested on his back slightly petting him. You were exhausted as he was but also so damn pleased. Slowly you brain started to work up what just happened just moments before you came. You knew that you read something about that. But what was it? Then it came to you like thunderstruck. You couldn't help but started laughing.
When you were just a little child your mother has told you stories of princesses who found their princes and lived happily ever after. You'd loved these stories even though you'd known that they weren't real. But she also told you stories of real people who'd lived life better than any fairy tale. People who said they'd found their soulmates. When you were just a little child you'd believed in these stories even your father had laughed at you and told you on and on that the were just modern fairy tales people had started to tell because they had got tired of the old ones.
Now at the age of 30 you found out the truth. These weren't just fairy tales. These stories about soulmates were true. Uhura told you she found hers in Spock years ago. Even though you heard her stories about this you still had a hard time to really believe it that it was true.
Now at the age of 30 you laid next to your best friend. After all this time and the fighting against your actual feelings, you let it happen and found happiness. The greatest happiness you could found. Because you found your soulmate in Pavel Andreievich Chekov.

Seeking Peace
Pairing: Pavel Chekov x reader
Prompt: reader is a peace strategeist, she helps with dioplomatic missions and she’s been assigned to the Enterprise. She’s on a Starbase waiting for the next mission to start and she meets new friends before starting her new job
Word Count: 1,259 words
For: my lovely sister @cazale !!! It’s your birthday happy birthday I love you sm!!!
Tumblr media
“Lieutenant y/l/n reporting for duty,” you said, handing your PADD over to Captain Kirk.
“Excellent,” Captain Kirk said, “I’m glad to have you aboard! I really need your guidance, don’t tell anyone this but I kind of suck at diplomatic missions.”
You laughed, shaking your head at him. “Well, that’s why I’m here!” you said cheerfully.
The Captain smiled at you before glancing down at the PADD you gave him and signing the document that was pulled up, confirming your assignment.
“Well, I’ll definitely be seeing you soon,” he said, “and I look forward to getting to know you better. We’re gonna be a great team, I know it!”
“Thank you, Captain,” you said happily, “that means a lot.”
“Don’t mention it,” the Captain said. “Now, why don’t you explore the Starbase a little before we leave tomorrow? Maybe you’ll run into some members of the crew. Go have some fun! But not too much fun!” he laughed, then put on a more serious face. “If you have any problems or issues, just come talk to me and I’ll get it fixed for you.”
“Thank you, Captain,” you said, smiling. “When do we leave tomorrow? I don’t wanna wake up and realize I’m three hours late.”
Captain Kirk made a face. “We leave at 0700 hours,” he said, “bright and early! If you’re like me and you don’t sleep well, you can just go in early and comm me, and I’ll come meet you and get you all set up!”
“I just might do that,” you said, “I don’t really sleep that much.”
“Great!” he said, then he shifted on his feet awkwardly. “Um, I have to go somewhere, so if you’re all set-”
“No yeah I’m all set! You’ve been so kind to me, I really appreciate it!” you said in a rush, feeling glad that you didn't get a mean Captain.
“It’s really no problem at all!” he said, “I know how you feel, when I became Captain I had no idea what I was doing, I was just winging it the whole time. Not that I’m fully aware of what I’m doing these days either,” he laughed, “but you didn’t hear that from me.”
You smiled at him. “Hear what from you?” you joked.
The Captain let out a loud laugh, then looked off into the distance towards a group of Admirals that were standing and talking.
“I’ll see you later, sir,” you said.
“You will!” he agreed, then he winked at you and moved away from you, walking towards the Admirals.
You sighed, the tension easing form your shoulders as your first meeting with your new Captain was over. You could tell he was trying to be friendly and make you comfortable with such an important, stressful assignment, and you were immensely grateful. He seemed like a nice guy, and you were sure you would work well together.
You clenched your jaw before glancing around the Starbase and, choosing a nearby bar, you made your way to it.
You walked inside and glanced around, looking for any fellow Starfleet officers. You really didn’t want to start your new job early tomorrow morning without any friends. You usually had a strict “no friends at the workplace” rule, but you had decided that this was a special circumstance.
You sat down at a table alone and sighed, fiddling with your uniform.
“Hi!” a voice said loudly next to you, and you startled.
“Hi,” you said, turning in the direction of the voice.
The voice belonged to a young man with curly brown hair and warm brown eyes, and he was smiling back at you.
“I’m ensign Chekov!” he said, “but you may call me Pavel! While we are not working, of course.”
You laughed, letting your eyes quickly flick up and down his body. ““I’m Lieutenant y/l/n! You may call me y/n while we’re off duty.”
“What lovely names!” Pavel said to you, and you smiled at him.
“Have you seen her yet?” he asked.
“Seen who yet?” you asked, scrunching your nose in confusion. “I just got here, I don’t really know anyone.”
“That’s okay! I will introduce you to everyone!” Pavel said, still cheerful. “And I mean the Enterprise! She is a beauty!”
“That’s so nice of you, thank you so much Pavel!” you said happily. “And yes, I’ve heard! I haven’t gotten the chance to see her yet, I was thinking about starting early tomorrow to see her without many people around me.”
“What a wonderful idea! I will go in early as well, help you around!” Pavel offered.
“Thank you, Pavel, but Captain Kirk has already offered,” you said, “but I do still want to be friends! And I’m sure the Captain will be busy tomorrow, what with the launch, maybe if you have time you could help me around when I’m on my lunch break?”
“Yes, yes, of course!” Pavel agreed. “I will be there for you! I understand what it is like to be new.”
“I’m very grateful,” you said.
“It is no issue at all, don’t worry!” Pavel said, smiling at you. “May I please introduce you to my friends?”“I’m Lieutenant y/l/n!”
“Yes, of course! I would love that very much, thank you!” you said, smiling back. You two couldn’t stop smiling at each other, you noticed, but you didn’t care. You really liked Pavel, and you were very glad he had started talking to you.
“Come, come!” he said, waving his arms before walking away slowly, looking back to see if you were following. You got up and moved with him as he continued to walk through the crowded bar, and he finally stopped at a large booth.
The group of people at the booth stopped talking when you and Pavel arrived, and a few of them smiled at you.
“Everyone, this is Lieutenant y/n y/l/n!” Chekov announced.
“I’m assigned to the Enterprise to help with diplomatic missions!” you said. “I’m a peace strategist.”
“That’s so cool!” a blonde woman said to you. “Please, sit down. It’s so lovely to have someone new! I hope we can make you feel as comfortable as possible!”
The officers at the large booth moved over to make room for you, and you sat down, softly saying thank you to the person you had sat down next to. Pavel sat on your other side, and you shifted nervously in your seat as everyone stared at you.
“I’m Nurse Christine Chapel,” the blonde woman said, “and these wonderful people are Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu, Chief Engineer Scotty, and Keenser! I’m not exactly sure what his rank is but everyone just calls him Keenser anyway, even the Captain.”
You quickly memorized everyone’s names as she pointed them out (literally), then you nodded and smiled at Christine. “It’s so nice to meet all of you!”
“You as well!” Nyota said, “there aren’t many women on this ship, I’m so happy to meet another woman! We’re going to be really good friends, I can tell. How did you become a peace strategist? That sounds really cool.”
You smiled at her, then started to explain how and why you had become a peace strategist. While you were talking, you couldn’t help but feel as though everything was going to be okay, and that these really were good people.
Pavel gently took your hand in his, maybe somehow sensing your anxiety, and you relaxed.
You felt so happy to have made new friends so easily and quickly, and you smiled at Pavel.
You couldn't wait until tomorrow.

I think that's a little more than a cut Chekov plz
This is your warning that most if not all of the Road Trip Drabbles contain descriptions of blood and injuries. And some may contain death. This has been your warning proceed at your own discretion.
Being second in command in engineering wasn’t so bad. You didn’t get yelled at by Scotty, you got special treatment, you got to boss people around. Though sometimes it felt more like babysitting. Especially to today when Scotty was letting Pavel practically free rein down in engineering, with you over his shoulder.
You were watching over the lower levels when you heard a clatter. You spun around on your heels, looking towards the source. “Chekov?”
“I’m fine,” he said a bit too quickly for your comfort. “I-it’s just a cut,” he justified as he wrapped his hand in the hem of his shirt.
“Let me look,” you approached with an expectant hand out. He pulled away and you noticed blood seeping through his yellow tunic. “Pavel.”
“I promise it’s fine.”
“I think that might be a little more than just a cut Pavel.” You reached in and grabbed his hand, revealing the large cut on the palm of his hand oozing blood. “Shit, Pavel. I have an emergency regen unit in my office. Let’s see if I can’t handle it.” You pulled the clean hand rag from your back pocket wrapping it around his hand. “Come on.”
In your office, you gently cleaned the wound with only mild complaining. “You can’t tell Scotty,” he pleaded.
“Why do you think I have an emergency regen unit? Every new engineer that crosses my path ends up getting hurt. Then they worry that Scotty is going to put them on report duty and I bet you are worried he won’t let you 50 feet near engineering if he knows.”
“Because, ‘How can I trust you with the warp core if I can’t trust you with yourself?’” you repeated in tandem with Pavel and he smiled.
“I once rewired a panel with a cut hand, because I was afraid of Mr. Scott. I didn’t get this position by being honest with my superior.”
Soon the regeneration had almost completely healed the wound, and you reached for some gauze to protect it. “Thank you, again.” He fiddled with the wrapping standing.
“Take your lunch break and get a new shirt. Scotty and McCoy will be none the wiser.”
“You are truly are a godsend,” he half-joked, starting to leave.
“There’s a reason the engineers like me best,” you winked at him. “Now get out of here and back to work.”
Pavel saluted and backed out the door. He sure could be a handful in the coming months but you wouldn’t train that for the friendship that came with it.

Distractions - P.Chekov

"I'm not going to stop poking you until you give me some attention"
     +
"can you stop playing connect the dots with my freckles?"
Tumblr media
Life as a redshirt is stressful. With the never-ending fear of something blowing up in engineering, mixed with the minor but tedious repairs that needed to be done on the ship, Y/N was always busy.
Currently, Y/N is working on a pile of PADDs that have gone haywire after an electrical surge scrambled them. It was easy enough, but with a majority of the crew not knowing how to do it on their own, Y/N was getting tired of it. Engineers were spread thin all over the ship fixing other things like replicators, meaning Y/N and some other unlucky few were stuck with the PADDs.
Pavel had been patiently reading one of Y/N's classic books while he waited, and after taking a quick glance at the clock on the desk next to her, Y/N was glad to find that he had been silent for the past hour and a half.
The PADD in Y/N's hand comes back to life, and after skimming through all the essential functions seems it okay and adds it to the fixed pile. Just as she picks up another one, Pavel lets out a drawn-out groan. Y/N curses under her breath.
"Y/N-"
"No. I already told you I'm not fixing these in the bed. They won't get done."
"But I'm lonely and cold, Y/N," Pavel wines. Y/N ignores him, already used to his antics. She focuses on the PADD, grumbling to herself when she finds that it only needed to be reset. When the screen turns black, she feels a light poke on her arm. Y/N shoots Pavel a glare but quickly turns away when the PADD turns back on.
Quickly moving to the next one,  Pavel delivers three more light pokes. Y/N looks down, and rolls her eyes, "If you could stop poking at my freckles that would be great."
"I won't stop poking you unless you give me some attention."
"You and I both know you'll keep poking me no matter what."
Pavel gives Y/N a cheeky grin at that. With an exaggerated sigh, Y/N puts the PADD in her hand down and stands up from her desk. Pavel happily slides back to makes room, throwing his arms open to let her in.
"You're unbelievable," Y/N grumbles as she climbs into bed, settling into his arms. Pavel just snuggles into her, burying his head into her neck as he wraps his arms around her tight. Y/N lets a small smile breakthrough when she feels his grin pressed into her skin. The arm under Y/N’s head shifts and she rolls her eyes when he starts lightly poking at the freckles on her shoulder.
Y/N moves to play with his curls, and Pavel melts, moving even closer then Y/N thought possible. He starts mumbling against her neck, and even though Y/N can’t really make out words she knows it’s in Russian. Pavel presses a light kiss to her neck, and soon after his hold on her loosens as he falls asleep.
After a couple of minutes, Y/N slowly slides out of bed, pressing a quick kiss on Pavel's forehead before moving back to her desk. Pavel curls into himself slightly, making up for the missing warmth. With one last look at her boyfriend, Y/N turns back to the pile of PADDs on her desk with determination, wanting to get back to bed as fast as possible.

Below Freezing (Pavel Chekov x Fem!Reader) [Request!]
Tumblr media
*Gif not mine*
"Well the transporter is broken so we’re stuck on this cold planet alone together guess we’d better cuddle for warmth" with Chekov please” -anon
Hi there anon! Thanks for your request :)
Sorry for slow updates, school has been kicking my ass :( I’m really mad because I wrote this super good the first time and then my power went out and it didn’t save so now it’s not as good :(.
Send in a request!
Word Count: 1900+ Warnings: Fluffy AF, the ending is a bit rushed but that's ok
You were late and you couldn’t believe it. It was your first away mission on the Enterprise and you were running so late, all because you couldn’t find your stupid botany kit in your lab. Your boots thudded rhythmically down the white halls, dodging people left and right, barely muttering a quick “’scuse me’” as a cacophony of ‘Hey’s and ‘Watch it’s’ followed behind you.
You nearly collapsed in relief as you rounded the corner and the transporter doors came into view. You slowed to a stop as you burst through them, huffing and out of breath.
“Ensign!’ Kirk greeted, walking over to you. “Ready for your first mission?”
You nodded enthusiastically, trying to steady your breathing. “Yes, sir.”
He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by someone else crashing through the door. You weren’t the only one who was late.
“дерьмо (shit),” he gasped. “I’m so sorry keptin, I-”
“It’s fine, Chekov,” the captain hushed him, grabbing two large parkas folded neatly from a nearby console. “You two are going to want these.”
He pushed one bundle in your arms and the other in Pavel’s. You sent Jim a quizzical look.
“The planet’s temperatures drop below freezing once the sun goes down. We’re hoping the mission will be finished before then but better safe than sorry,” he explained, reading through the mission requirements on a padd. You nodded.
You quickly glanced around the room, realizing that you were still missing a member of your team. “Captain, where’s Ensign Faust?”
Jim looked up. “Oh, he called in sick unexpectedly last night. It’s just the two of you today.”
You stiffened. You noticed Chekov freeze next to you as well. You started panicking. You were terrified. Not of Pavel, you had a crush on the ensign for a while, but of being alone with him. You had only interacted in group settings, always surrounded by a comfortable amount of friends where the threat of possible embarrassment was very low. Now that it was just the two of you, failure was nearly imminent. Before you could figure out how to get out of the mission, Jim looked up from the padd and motioned towards the transporter.
“Alright, you guys are cleared. Good luck,” he started walking out of the room. It was your last chance to protest, but something held you back. You mumbled a thanks and moved towards the transporter pad, unease and despair bubbling up in your stomach.
“Energize.”
Oh, no no no. дерьмо. He was internally screaming, cursing his luck to the high heavens. He knew, oh god, he knew he was going to make a fool of himself within the next hour. He was terrified. Not of you, he had a crush on you for months, but of slipping up in front of you. He had only talked with you in group settings, a close friend always nearby for emotional support, but now he was going to be alone. Alone with you. He wasn’t sure he was going to be able to even function.
The narrow window of escape he saw as Kirk left the room was missed as a million thoughts zig-zagged through his brain and before he knew it he was standing on the face of the white planet next to you. The climate was mild, leaving him wondering how they were going to need such heavy coats.
“Don’t forget your goggles, Pav,” your sweet voice said softly, causing his heart to drop suddenly.
“R-right,” he stuttered, digging through the pockets of the large coat and pulling out the protective glasses. He tugged them on, the blinding terrain easing into a muted grey landscape. It was breathtaking nonetheless. “Wow.”
“Pretty, isn’t it?” you looked around, in awe of the foliage. Chekov stood there, unaware that he was staring at you as you got to work, pulling out your botany kit and taking samples. He shook himself out of it,  pulling his tricorder out of his small satchel. Nearly fifteen minutes later, Pavel began noticing the temperature starting to drop. It was a few degrees at first, but it suddenly dropped several."Hey, I'm done," you came up behind him. He jumped slightly, but you pretended not to notice. "Me too," he replied, glancing back down at his tricorder. The temperature had gone down twenty degrees. You shrugged on your coat behind him, shivering slightly. Chekov did the same, suddenly very glad that they had brought them along.
"Keptin," he spoke into his communicator. "We have finished the mission. Two to beam up."
"Locking on to you both now," Jim replied. He was relieved. He hadn't done anything stupid, yet, and the mission had gone by smoothly. If only he could get off the rapidly cooling planet sooner and into a nice, warm shower.
"Chekov? [y/n]? Are you guys still down there?" Jim's voice came through a bit static-y. You leaned over Pavel's shoulder, speaking into the small device. "Yes, captain. Is there a problem up there?"
“Somt- ... interfe- sig- trying-” and with that, the signal was lost and the communicator went dead. Your eyes met his and worry dropped like a rock in your stomach.
Shit.
You sat awkwardly next to Pavel, shivering even through the warm coat around your shoulders. In the span of about ten minutes since you lost contact with the Enterprise, the temperature had dropped twenty degrees. The light was slowly fading and the landscape morphed from a blaring white to a soft grey, allowing a few stars to peek through the sky. You were a bit anxious, fear had rooted itself in your core after you swore you heard something shriek off in the distance, and it caused you to tremble a bit more.
Since the mission was only meant to last a bit over an hour, nobody informed you about any, hostile or not, lifeforms on the surface of the planet. You clutched your survey kit closer to your chest. You were a botanist for god’s sake. Your specialty was plants, not warding off hostile aliens. You weren’t a hero-warrior goddess that would courageously protect (and hopefully woo) Pavel. You were just a shy botanist who wasn’t even cleared to carry a phaser during an away mission.
You shook as a freezing breeze swept over the landscape, somehow able to go straight through your coat. You felt Chekov shift beside you and before you knew it his arm was around you pulling you into his side. Despite the cold, your cheeks flared up. You considered moving away from him but his body heat was nearly to die for. You were just getting comfortable when the horrible shriek split the almost-serene terrain a second time. You froze, feeling Pavel do the same. The sun had dipped behind the rolling white, now grey, hills, but it was still bright enough to see them. And the thing hurtling down one.
“Pav,” you shakily raised your hand to point at the figure speeding towards you. “What’s that?”
Without a word or hesitation, he grabbed your hand and booked it in the other direction. It made that horrible sound again, taking chase. You ran faster than you had ever run before, adrenaline pushing your muscles to the limit. Pavel pointed to a small opening at the base of the small mountain you were running towards and you understood. That was when you made the mistake of looking back. The creature was hideous, at least ten feet tall and it’s large boar-like head had huge protruding fangs dripping with saliva. It was only some-15 yards away. That was when you tripped. You flew forwards, hands catching your fall and you felt the skin break. Pavel barely missed a beat, scooping you up in his arms the second you hit the ground and continuing his sprint for the small cave. You squeezed your eyes shut, hearing the thing’s breath only feet away.
He dove into the small opening, accidentally tossing you on the cold floor of the cave. The thing screamed, feeling though the small hole with its clawed feet but it wasn’t strong enough to break through the stone. Chekov was laying next to you, arm stretched out protectively over your chest, breathing heavily but staying quiet even after the horrible thing went away in search of an easier meal.
“Oh my god, are you alright?” he still grasped one of your hands, inspecting the cuts riddling your palm. “I’m so sorry, I-I couldn’t get a grip on my phaser fast enough and I dropped it somewhere.”
You shook your head. “No, it’s okay! We’re safe now.” You looked away from his worried face bashfully. “Thanks for saving me when I fell.”
It was his turn to shake his head. “It was the gentlemanly thing to do. I don’t know what I would do if I had let it get you.”
You blushed at his words, fiddling with a loose thread on your jacket. “Thank you. If only I hadn’t lost my kit. I was really excited to study them.” You frowned at the grey dust coating the floor.
“Actually...”
You looked up, a smile spreading on your face as he held up or kit.
“Oh my god, thank you so much!” you jumped on him, engulfing him in a hug. It was too late when you noticed what you had done. You pulled away quickly. “S-Sorry.”
He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. “Don’t worry about it, it’s fine. Here you go.” He handed you the kit.
“Thanks,” you beamed up at him. He returned it, getting up and looking around the very small cave.
“There are some vines to make a fire with,” he said, tearing some of the dry plants from the walls. “And guess what.”
“They’re white, aren’t they?” you giggled.
“You got it,” he replied, breaking the longer ones into smaller pieces. He arranged them on the floor, lighting them with his backup phaser refill.
“Whoa,” you gasped as the fire breathed to life, flickering in shades of grey. “I’ve never seen white fire before. It’s kinda like we’re in a black-and-white movie.”
He nodded. “Yeah.”
He waited a moment before getting up again and pushing a small-ish boulder in front of the doorway. “Better safe than sorry.”
You nodded. He sat back down next to you, trying to warm himself by the fire. The light was completely gone now, and the temperatures were even colder. It was definitely below freezing. You knew the only way to keep from getting hypothermia was to share body heat.
“Um, Pav?” your voice sounded small.
“Yeah?”
“Uh, do you want to... share body heat?” your face warmed, unable to meet his eyes.
“Sure.”
You looked up, surprised. “Really?”
He nodded, grinning. “Yes, I’m sure.”
You returned the smile, shrugging out of your coat and laying it on the cold ground for something to lay on. Chekov unzipped his as well, laying down beside you and throwing his oversized parka on top of you both. He let you snuggle into his side, wrapping his arms around you with his head resting just above yours. It was here where you felt at home, cuddled up in his side. Without being able to control yourself, you moved your head, your face only inches from his. His eyes flickered down to your lips and back to your eyes. You moved closer, allowing him to close the gap. The kiss was chaste and sweet, conveying thoughts without needing to say them.
You broke away. “We should do this more often.”
He chuckled. “Yes, we should.”
He kissed your forehead and you moved your head back down to his shoulder.
“But for now, sleep.”

Star Trek - Werksliste
These are all stories about Star Trek I reblogged so far. They’re all in alphabetical order and not in some kind of ranking.
And although it might sound a bit cliche, it’s true: I love every single one of those stories and every single one of them is a masterpiece in it’s own way. I’m more than happy to be able to read those works. So thank you, dear author, for publishing those stories. For bringing up the courage to share them with the world.

25 Days of FicMas
December 19th prompt: The Magical Adventures of the Santa hat
Word count: 1,581
A Kirkian Christmas Set Up
Sort but cuuuute. Read it, love it, write songs about it. It would have been longer if I didn't feel the strong need for sleep. Remember to drink water and love yourself. Cause I love you. I need you so...now you can't leave me. No returns.
-H❤🖖
No one knew where it came from. The damn thing just showed up a few days before Christmas, and of course Captain James. T Kirk had to wear it. The crew snickered and grinned at the little decoration, “Nice hat sir!” one ensign called out when Jim entered one of the rec rooms with Spock following behind; it was a Tuesday night and Tuesdays were always chess days. Kirk grinned at the young ensign, “It’s in the spirit of the holiday,” he bowed his head a tad letting the ball of the Santa hat sway over his shoulder. You sat in a large comfy chair in the corner with an old fashioned book in your hands, you watched as The Captain and The Commander set up at a table right next to you, “Hey Lieutenant, good read?” Kirk asked casually sending you a kind smile. You shrugged glancing at the front of the book, seeing the title was faded somewhat, “Just some Dickens sir. Like you said the spirit in the holiday and all that,”
Kirk gave you a look, “Jim, (Y/N). Call me Jim when we’re off duty,” he ordered. You rolled your eyes good-naturedly, “of course sir,” you said almost teasingly making Jim groan annoyed. “We’ll get there,” he muttered moving a piece on the chessboard, “Which ghost are you at?” he asked not taking his eyes off of the Commander’s movements. “Present,” you answered absentmindedly as you read; Jim smirked making another move, “Most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom unless the writing be erased,” he quoted like he was reading over your shoulder. Raising a single eyebrow you breathed out a laugh, “I’m impressed sir,” you said honestly and Kirk shrugged. “Gotta love the classics, isn’t that right Mr. Spock?”
The Commander looked up from the game in front of him toward his superior, “Yes Captain. I too enjoy old Earth literature. I find the works of George Orwell and Oscar Wilde fascinating,” he said as he moved a rook to the next level of the board. Jim narrowed his eyes in thought, “I love Tolkien personally,” he murmured. You chuckled and nodded, “I knew it! I totally pegged you as a Lord of The Rings fan. Ginly owes me fifty credits,” you grinned at the prospect. Kirk barked out a laugh, “Well I’m glad I could help you out. Let me know if I can do anything else for you,” he winked. You huffed mildly amused but not exactly surprised; Kirk was a known flirt so you didn’t think anything of it. You certainly didn't notice him check the time.
The conversation lapsed into a comfortable silence until Sulu and Chekov collapsed into the chairs by you to watch the ‘exciting’ game going on between The Captain and Commander. “Nice hat sir,” Sulu complimented flicking the white puffball so it swung and smacked Kirk in the face, the man scrunched up his nose in response. He took off the Santa hat and threw it in Sulu’s face with a huff, he moved another piece on the board calling “Check,”
Sulu pulled the hat from his face and secured it on his head with a snicker, “Checkmate,” Spock announced making Kirk curse under his breath. Spock raised a single eyebrow but otherwise said nothing and began to reset the board. Glancing up from your book you saw that Kirk was whispering lowly to Sulu who was grinning madly, ‘Oh this is going to end badly,’ you thought with a snort. Shifting in your chair so your legs were now over the arm you looked up again when the rec room door swished open. Scotty and Uhura were walking through talking about upgrades for the comms relay, Kirk jerked his head toward the CE smirking. Sulu bounced up and whispered hurriedly into Scotty’s ear, “What are you planning Jim?” Uhura asked dryly walking to Spock’s side, arms crossed over her chest she leaned against her boyfriend. You gave her a little wave in greeting before getting back to Dickens.
Scotty grinned at the little plan Kirk had cooked up and gave Sulu a little salute. Hikaru deposited the Santa hat on Scott’s head and watched him scurry out the door. You didn’t notice Sulu casually get close to your chair before it was too late, the helmsman snatched the aged book from your hands and raced out the rec room doors like a bat out of hell. “Damnit Hikaru!” you shouted floundering in your chair. You flipped out of the thing landing on your hands and knees, jeans getting dirty on the floor and mild stinging on your palms didn’t stop you from chasing the man out the door. Uhura stood there shocked and wide-eyed for a moment, “Okay Jim seriously what have you cooked up!” she scolded. She stopped abruptly noticing Spock hadn’t said a word or did his customary eyebrow raise, “you’re in on it,” she accused looking between the Captain and his second in command. “Let’s just say we know a couple of people who need...a little push,” Jim explained moving a knight on the chessboard. He looked up at Uhura with a cheeky grin and nodded at Pavel who pulled out a PADD with Enterprises schematics. It took a moment for the comms officer to catch on but when she did she couldn’t help but grin, “I can’t believe I’m saying this but damn Kirk you’re a genius,’ she said gracefully plopping down in your vacant chair. Jim grinned and held out his arms in a “Ta-da” motion.

Scotty dashed through the corridors of the Enterprise like his life depended on it; mostly because it did. He poked a bear and now he was running from said bear; that metaphorical bear was the ship’s CMO Leonard McCoy. “Damnit Scotty come back here!” McCoy shouted eyes blazing. Montgomery Scott refused to say that he was afraid of anything but at that moment he practically screamed like a “Wee lass,” as he ran through his lady. Glancing over his shoulder he saw McCoy gaining on him, yelping Scotty picked up the pace hoping to get to the drop-off point in time.
Scotty whooped when he saw Sulu at the end of the corridor running toward him with you hot on his heels. “Drop it, Scotty!” Sulu shouted passing by the man dropping the book he was holding on the floor before continuing like hell itself was after him. Scotty bent down and gently dropped the object he was holding before sprinting past you. Santa hat flying off his head he dove into an empty turbo lift laughing hysterically as the doors closed him in. You skidded to a stop before you tripped over the object Scotty dropped on the floor, panting you picked up the hat and what looked to be a holo frame. Looking down you saw a smiling little girl with a missing front tooth, “I think this belongs to you,” you said holding up the picture. McCoy huffed and picked up your book from the ground, “Dickens?” he asked impressed. You blushed and held out the picture frame, “ I like the classics,” you mumbled nervously. Leonard smirked as you traded items, “My daughter just finished To Kill A Mockingbird,” he said weighing the frame in his hands. You grinned, “I loved that one when I was little,” you said excitedly. “How did she like it?” you couldn’t help but ask. McCoy chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, “She loved it if I could guess by the video message she sent me,”
You were walking back down the corridor with Doctor McCoy when suddenly the lights dimmed and Christmas lights sprung to life lining the walls with holiday cheer. You laughed nervously, “Is it me or are we being set up?” you asked rubbing the back of your neck. Leonard raised an eyebrow, “now darlin’ whatever gave you that idea?” he asked dryly making you giggle. “So this is what he was up to,” you murmur with a shake of your head, “I’m not sure if I’m gonna kill him or…” McCoy trailed off muttering curses under his breath. You bit your lip to keep from smiling, “Well better make the most of it, “ you said and placed the Santa hat on your head. Leonard laughed a wide smile breaking across his face; you couldn’t help but follow suit. Your smile caused Leonard to pause his walking, his heart thudded in his chest and his breath caught. He had to admit he had always thought you were beautiful, smart, funny, and genuinely kind but he never dared to ask you out or even if he should. The divorce was such a messy painful thing he didn’t want to experience something like that again.  You cocked your head to the side curiously, Leonard cleared his throat nervously. “I uh I’m running out of book titles to recommend to Jo, I was wonderin’ if you could help me make a list…” he trailed off clutching the holo frame in his hands tightly. You beamed, “Of course I’ll help! Does she have a favorite genre?” and with that, you were both off again. You and Leonard talked for a good portion of the night, neither minding waking up tired for shift the next day. For the future was bright and full of new stories to tell. Like the one, Joanna McCoy would ask for every Christmases to come: “The Magical Adventures of the Santa Hat,”

Pairing: Chekov x Reader
Notes: My first Chekov fic, which was really hard to write for a multitude of reasons, so it’s short and sweet. This was requested (a long time ago, sorry!) by @the-sound-of-the-bees-blog
Please leave a like/comment if you enjoyed - it means the world. If you have a spare 5 minutes please help me improve my blog! <3
If you'd have been paying attention, maybe you would have heard the noise of pounding feet along the hallway or Pavel Chekov’s distant shouts telling you to move - maybe even his strong aftershave you had come used to smelling and adoring - instead you were too absorbed in the PADD in your hands and the files you were reading over as you walked.
Despite Chekov’s best efforts, as he weaved around one of your colleagues, shouting “I can do zat!” with a rush and a hint of enthusiasm, he didn't have nearly enough time to avoid you either. So even as he tried to move away as he continued running, his slender frame collided with yours - and the PADD fell to the floor, you following it.
As the stinging of the floor’s hardness against your hands and knees finally hit you, you couldn't help but cry out in pain. This managed to briefly catch the young man's attention.
“I'm sorry!” He called behind him, offering a brief grimace in the split second he turned his head to look at you.
If it were anyone else - you would've been completely furious - but it just so happened to be the young Russian you’d been crushing on for the longest time. You knew you'd forgive him in no time, but you were curious where he was running and what he was doing.
A nearby crewman helped you up and offered a sympathetic smile before handing you your PADD - luckily not damaged. Then, you were off on the rest of your day, though with slightly stinging limbs.
It hadn't taken long for Pavel to find you the next day - at breakfast, he was rushing over to you with an upset expression on his face - his own food forgotten at his table as soon as he saw your face.
“Please, (Y/N), I'm so sorry.” He said as he approached you with a pleading look on his face - he picked up your hand closest to him and held it in both his hands - helping convey his seriousness. Whilst you appreciated the gesture, you were feeling a new rush at holding his hand.
“Pavel, it’s fine.” You say sincerely. “I heard what you did, I was impressed.” You decide to give his hand a reassuring squeeze.
He blushes at your comment.
“Thank you for saying that, it is very kind .” He pulls your hand up to his lips and places a gentle kiss on the back of your hand.
“And thank you for accepting my apology.”

For the heartbeat prompts: could you do #4 with AOS!Chekov please? I love your beautiful writing by the way! 🥰
Pavel looks drawn and unsteady as he joins you in the bedroom after a lengthy comm with his grandmother.  You couldn’t make out anything he was saying as it was all rapid-fire Russian, but you can tell by his tone and his expression that the call did not come bearing good news.  You pat the bed beside you as he drops his comm on the bedside table, wordlessly encouraging him to join you.
“Everything okay?”  You ask.
Pavel sighs deeply as he crawls into bed next to you, lying on his back and staring at the ceiling.
“My grandfather is ill,” he replies.  “It might be serious.”
Your heart aches for him and you shift closer, slipping your arm under his shoulders and coaxing him to snuggle into you.  He shifts around, draping an arm around your waist and resting his head on your chest.  You tip your head down and press a kiss into his curls.
“Have you thought about asking the captain about taking a sabbatical to go and see him?”
Pavel shakes his head.
“My grandmother told me not to worry,” He explains.  “It is in God’s hands, she says.  She does not want to me to jeopardize my career over this.”
“But is that what you want?”  You question gently.
Pavel shrugs, reaching up to rub a hand over his face.  Taking that as a cue to end the discussion for now, you fall silent and simply resort to carding your fingers through his hair to comfort him.  After a short while, you feel some of the tension start to leave his body, his weight pressing into you a little more heavily.  Minutes pass, the calm in the room broken only by the sounds of your breathing.  Eventually, Pavel breaks the silence.
“I could fall asleep to your heartbeat,” he murmurs.
You smile softly, gently resting your hand on his head, pressing it to your chest just a little more firmly to encourage him to relax into you.
“Get some rest,” you encourage.  “I’ll be right here when you wake up.”
He nods, tucking into you just a little closer, his hand gripping the hem of your shift where it rests at your waist.  He’s asleep within minutes and you’re content to watch him as he slumbers, occasionally whispering soft reassurances as uneasy dreams plague him.
