Assuming they let get, I think it would be because she guilted Logan with something like "you don't think I'm serious enough for the job *fake sob* you always underestimate me *more fake sobs*"

Logan told her she can be dean for a week (because for some reason the person they hire couldn't make it in time, idk maybe they're from another state and ran into some troubles with their moving company)

Lyric did a pretty decent job, but as both Logan and Quinn predicted, she got bored of it before the week ended.

still, not wanting to admit she wasn't up for the job and this was just a whim, she pushed through the week, with Logan watching over her quietly, to make sure she doesn't overstress and stuff (protective older brother mode)

lowkey, she wants to make both Logan and Quinn proud, but she won't admit that.

definitely wrote a song to sing in a big circle with the new students, Logan clapped the loudest to make up for the confused applause from the rest lol

Quinn showed her support as well, even when Lyric got them all making musical bonding exercises that shouldn't have lasted that long.

on the first days, she tries to break fights amongst the new students, comically making things worse, but at the end she manages to fix them.

by the rest of the week she realizes she really doesn't need to interfiere on every single problem amongst the students and leave that to the counselors.

(assuming Lyric is 25ish on this AU) working with kids younger than her made her realize she's no longer part of the latest generation. As in, she's having that revelation gen Z is having about whatever name they gave to the new generation. She does not like that at all.

she also realizes kids suck and the only valid child is her new nibbling (if you're not following this AU, i hc that Logan and Quinn had a kid in the middle of the school reopening), in her opinion.

speaking of said nibbling, when Quinn or Logan pop up to check on things (check she hadn't break chaos somehow), they bring along the baby, much to the new aunt's joy.

she spends a lot of time either on "her" office or taking pictures of her on campus, just to prove she has been doing her job.

she throws herself a goodbye party to conclude her week (and by herself I mean Logan organized everything but it was *her* idea so it's almost the same)

Quinn and Logan do tell them they're proud of her, and they honestly mean it. She lasted more than they expected.

if she learned a lesson on that week, is that she's never offering her help again when it comes to that school. She's way to busy to deal with kids that are not her precious nibbling.

just went into my op tag “speak boy!” and man I really HAVENT been posting on here!

WELL. I’ll tell you what I’ve been up to!

For starters, I quit my grocery store job because my back pain got so severe that I was not physically able to do it any more. I couldn’t push the pick-up cart on my route fast enough to make deadlines. And it was making me REALLY depressed to know I had to get up and go hurt for several hours without knowing why. 

So I got a DIFFERENT job. I’m a PCA now! That means Personal Care Assistant and I go to folks’ homes and help them with whatever they need. It’s pretty fulfilling. I sit a fair amount and am able to take breaks when I need them when I am doing physical work.

I’ve also been able to investigate what’s wrong with my back. First I got an MRI which cost a shitload and didn’t find ANYTHING. Luckily they referred me to a pain specialist who did an Xray and found the problem. Two joints in my spine never fused when I was a baby and are causing Problems. So it’s a chronic condition. 

About two weeks ago, I went and got trigger point injections in the muscle groups most affected and it’s helped SOME. I can clean the litter boxes without having to sit down halfway through. I haven’t gotten the bill for them yet, so we’ll see how much my insurance covers. I may or may not be able to continue this kind of treatment.

Money is tight. Veeery tight lmao.

I had visited private Christian schools in the past, and usually will ask "how do you deal with the topic of evolution" to see if they're too extreme. They either soft pedal around it, or some come out and say they're young earth creationists (my eyes, but they say they believe in 6-10000 year old earth - as an aside, I'll usually try to pin them down to just one of those numbers, and they tend not to choose). I'll also ask how they handle a student with same sex attractions (usually they point to their morality clauses all students sure to). What questions would you all that would help show clearly whether signing up would be a non-starter, or possibly an option? Note: I'm an atheist (since marriage), wife's a Christian (since before we meet, I don't want to dismiss her desires, but I do struggle against any indoctrination into woo

I felt guilty that I couldn’t be there for you again. So, I waited a couple days and called you, trying to be a good friend…” she hiccupped again “and you didn’t answer. So, I figured okay, we don’t spend every second of every day together anymore, that’s fine, but you never called me back. And when I saw you a month later for the PCA’s, you- you practically ignored me. We posed for a few pictures together, sure, but you acted like I was your weird cousin that your mom was forcing you to be nice to. It really hurt me, Lauren.”

Lauren pulled her mustang up in front of her mansion and turned it off. “So, Lauren, if this call seems out of the blue, it’s not. It’s been coming for a long time now. So, I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t put on the award show charade anymore. I’ll find out when you’re scheduled to arrive and make sure I get there an hour earlier or later. And I guess this means you can’t visit me anymore, but that shouldn’t be too big a deal, with your busy schedule and all.” She sighed. “I’m breaking up with us, Lauren. It just doesn’t work. I’ll see you…or I guess I won’t.”

Lauren’s phone beeped, signaling the end of the message, and Lauren determinedly pulled her keys out the starter, got out of the car and locked it.

As she entered her house and slowly walked up the stairs, she wondered how much it had taken for Camila to make that call. To end their… whatever. Lauren hadn’t treated her well, it was true, and though she knew there wasn’t a lot she could do about it at this point, she hoped Camila was much happier now.

She finally made her way to the bedroom, opening her door slowly and carefully placing her bracelet, phone and keys on the dresser next to it changing into her pajamas and sitting on her bed, facing the woman sitting up next to her.

“Hey,” Lauren said quietly, “did I wake you up?” She made a small exasperated noise and Lauren chuckled lightly, leaning over and kissing her on the cheek. “I’m sorry, angel. I was an idiot. We can name the baby anything you want.”

“You listened to it again, didn’t you?” Camila asked, rubbing her eyes slowly.

“What do you mean?”

PIXI TONICS OVERVIEW AND UPCOMING EVENTS

Well if one brand has owned the word ‘tonic’ in the last however-many-years in the skincare world/beauty blogosphere it’s Pixi.

The Voicemail

“Fuck you, Lauren Jauregui.”

Lauren swerved nearly to the other side of the road as she heard these rude words from her phone’s speaker. The beautiful, soft voice of her one-time love and never-quite girlfriend had never to her knowledge uttered the first of those words, and they sounded so foreign in her voice that she jumped in surprise. Lauren turned into a side road leading to her neighborhood in Miami and turned the bright lights on her mustang on in an attempt to see in the darkness of the late hour.

“It’s fucking unfair. Who puts two teenagers in such close quarters and then rips them apart? It was the best and worst four years of my life. I never wanted to leave your side, and then I had to. All of a sudden there was this void in my life that I had never known was there, and I couldn’t do anything about it. And all I needed was for you to be there, Lauren. I needed to know that this wasn’t how it was going to be forever, that this wasn’t right. And it wasn’t even like I needed you to be my girlfriend, I just needed…” she cut off as Lauren heard what sounded like a cross between a sob and a hiccup. “I needed you to tell me everything was all right. That even though neither of our lives were ever going to be normal again, that we were still in it together. And you ignored me.”

As Lauren keyed in the code at the entrance to her neighborhood, she felt a tear slide down her face. But the voicemail wasn’t over yet. “For a two years, Lauren. You ignored me for two years. And you couldn’t be a total asshole about it and ignore me at public events too, you had to come up to me like everything was all right, like I was just an old friend. And Dinah and Ariana and Shawn and everyone would come up to me asking me if I was all right because they knew that that’s not how it works after what we went through, that those people you go through it with are never just normal friends.”

She was hysterical now. “And then you kissed me at the concert. Like nothing had ever changed. Like you hadn’t done anything wrong. And I just let you, because after all that time I still loved you. You still had the same effect on me, with your sweet words and that kiss that you felt too Lauren, I know you did. And then you fucking did it again!”

As Lauren turned down another street, she gripped the steering wheel tighter and tighter to stop from shaking. What had sparked this in Camila? What had made her dial Lauren’s number on this night, during her late-night class rather than any other night when she might have answered?

“Do you know that Dinah and Normani are getting married? Dinah proposed to her last week, Lauren. Of course, you wouldn't know that, since we don’t seem to be as important to your life as you are to us. Even your mom calls me at least once a month, Lauren! And somehow you couldn’t be bothered!” Although she seemed to be rambling at this point, Lauren understood the anguish behind her voice. She tried to wonder when evidence of her anger had shown- but true to her point, Lauren couldn’t think of a time when Camila had shown her true feelings when they were together. And she hadn’t known about Dinah and Normani.

She’d paused, seemingly to collect herself. “Lauren, the day after I got home from the Jingle Ball concert in Miami- when I really, truly didn’t know the next time I’d see you- I cried for hours. And not all of it was for whatever our relationship was- I was sad for you. I knew how uncomfortable you were, and how many times you purposely diverted the attention to me because you knew I could handle it and you couldn’t. I felt guilty that I couldn’t be there for you again. So, I waited a couple days and called you, trying to be a good friend…” she hiccupped again “and you didn’t answer. So, I figured okay, we don’t spend every second of every day together anymore, that’s fine, but you never called me back. And when I saw you a month later for the PCA’s, you- you practically ignored me. We posed for a few pictures together, sure, but you acted like I was your weird cousin that your mom was forcing you to be nice to. It really hurt me, Lauren.”

Lauren pulled her mustang up in front of her mansion and turned it off. “So, Lauren, if this call seems out of the blue, it’s not. It’s been coming for a long time now. So, I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t put on the award show charade anymore. I’ll find out when you’re scheduled to arrive and make sure I get there an hour earlier or later. And I guess this means you can’t visit me anymore, but that shouldn’t be too big a deal, with your busy schedule and all.” She sighed. “I’m breaking up with us, Lauren. It just doesn’t work. I’ll see you…or I guess I won’t.”

Lauren’s phone beeped, signaling the end of the message, and Lauren determinedly pulled her keys out the starter, got out of the car and locked it.

As she entered her house and slowly walked up the stairs, she wondered how much it had taken for Camila to make that call. To end their… whatever. Lauren hadn’t treated her well, it was true, and though she knew there wasn’t a lot she could do about it at this point, she hoped Camila was much happier now.

She finally made her way to the bedroom, opening her door slowly and carefully placing her bracelet, phone and keys on the dresser next to it changing into her pajamas and sitting on her bed, facing the woman sitting up next to her.

“Hey,” Lauren said quietly, “did I wake you up?” She made a small exasperated noise and Lauren chuckled lightly, leaning over and kissing her on the cheek. “I’m sorry, angel. I was an idiot. We can name the baby anything you want.”

“You listened to it again, didn’t you?” Camila asked, rubbing her eyes slowly.

“What do you mean?”

“You never give up that easily unless you listen to the voicemail. I don’t even know how you still have it saved, that was like three iPhones ago.”

“Well maybe I did.” Lauren kissed her lips this time. “I never want to forget what it felt like to lose you. I don’t want to feel that again. Besides, you’re right, Emerald Cabello-Jauregui is not a good name.”

“Thank God,” she smiled. “I still can’t believe you waited until Dinah and Normani’s wedding to talk to me again. That was eight months later.”

Lauren climbed under the covers. “I wanted to be different. I needed to grow up, to prove that I was who you wanted me to be.”

Camila leaned back against her pillow, closing her eyes as she did so. “Well I’m glad you did. I barely remember that night, I was so upset. I think I may have even cursed at you. Are you ever going to let me listen to it?”

“Never,” She pulled Camila against her. “There may have been some rambling, but it was all well deserved.”

She let out a “hmm” but did not reply. “I really am sorry about those first few years, Camila. You did mean a lot to me.”

Camila opened her eyes and looked into her green ones. “I know, Lauren. You’ve long since been forgiven.” He relaxed and closed his eyes. “And Lauren?”

“Yeah?”

“Lana Cabello-Jauregui is not an option, either.”

RB week 7

The presenter Nancy Duarte describes several orators along with their presentation styles. The points that grabbed my attention were two: that you as the presenter “are not Luke Skywalker, but you are Yoda in this situation” (Duarte, 2011); and Steve Jobs’ presentation style. The point I believe she is attempting to make showing Luke and Yoda is getting your audience to believe. Yoda had to inspire Luke to believe in the force, as it was something he could not tangibly hold in his hand but a belief of a higher order.

Duarte describes the art of storytelling as you the presenter, are attempting to put an idea in the minds of the audience that they may not believe in, and you must influence their decision making to achieve your desired result of conveying your idea. I have previously discussed in prior reflection blogs the art of filling each other’s emotional tanks. In essence, this is the idea of coaching to have your athletes believe in themselves, and each other to a level they may not have thought about yet. The Positive Coaching Alliance states: “people perform best and have full tanks when they get about five pieces of truthful, specific praise for each time that they receive a piece of specific, constructive criticism” (PCA, 2020). This relates directly to the methodology that Duarte has explained to the audience by making the audience relate to you as the storyteller and making them the hero.

If they can reflect on self, but also conclude with a happy ending; they are more likely to believe in your idea that may have sounded outlandish to them in the beginning of the story. They will be able to “pick up what you’re putting down”. I identify with Steve Jobs’ presentation style, as I like to interact with my audience and think of what I would want to hear if I was sitting in their position. I wouldn’t want to simply read PowerPoint slides and lecture, but have the audience involved in the story.

I want to vicariously have them as the main character not only in the idea, but even in the personal story, just as how Jobs would have the audience clapping, laughing or eager to listen to what he will say next. While it takes true skill to identify with the audience who you are presenting for at times, a good speaker can find common ground, even if you have nothing in common with the audience.

For example, everyone likes food. You can take someone completely out of their element and bring in the topic of food/restaurants/home cooking and they will immediately have some middle understanding of each other. My spouse, who is a professionally trained chef calls food the “conversation starter, emotional connector, and ultimate token of gratitude”. Through MSLD 511 (Organizational Leadership) I discovered that I have more in common than I previously knew with Steve Jobs. He was always known as a charismatic, transformational leader. I see my leadership style as one in the same.

The authors Shah and Mulla describe charismatic leaders as having: “…self-confidence, dominance, feminine attributes, pragmatism, nurturance, emotional quotient, self-awareness, proactive personality and cognitive skills” (Shah, Mulla; 2014). These creative qualities will assist in making a sound presentation for this course and those after it.

Just got back from school & saw the announcement. It’s the first prediction I got right… They’re attending the ceremony the 18th. Now, I’ve got a few questions on my inbox asking for my opinion & what I think will happen. Like I mentioned on the 2k17 predictions theory, being given the award is a high probability. Why? It would mean it’s Camila’s last win with the group therefore, the correct thing is to give a quick shout out to her during the acceptance speech. This shout out can only come in two forms: A grateful cordial one. Don’t expect a whole speech dedicated to C, if this happens they’ll include her on the “thanking people list”. Some don’t like when I do the comparison but just so you can get an idea, check out 1D’s first award won without Zayn: https://youtu.be/-6lN00iFAHE Personally I feel it’s going to be something like this latter. The other call out option comes in subtle shade. I don’t expect them to throw any sort of shady comment yet however not acknowledging her at all would be taken as it. Both methods guarantee headlines cause either way it’s their FIRST APPEARANCE AS A QUARTET (as soon as this becomes old news, you can bet their team will opt for making use of the “drama starter pack”) Certainly they’ll be one of the acts with more attention. I'm praying for interviews to not be hard on them.

To be honest, it’d be really nice to see that.

The performance…No idea what they could be singing. The 7/27 era is basically over so there are three options: acoustic performance of TMG, I heard of a possible 7/27 medley, or the new single for 5H3. What do you guys think?

Dir. Ashary A. Banto of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Caraga likewise committed to provide scholarships for the Fishery and Agriculture Sector. Mr. Romel M. Also, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office through Ms. Silver Joy Tejano pledged on the inclusion of the beneficiaries to the agency’s Food for Work program, while Ms. Rose Murphy of the Provincial Tourism Office committed to spearhead the training on Tour Guiding.

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) thru PENRO Rosendo Asunto, represented by Mr. Rodel Mendez has included Brgy. San Antonio in their National Greening Program (NGP).

Ms. Cristina Cassion of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-Caraga committed to provide a route from RTR highway to Barangay San Antonio which is estimated at 3 kilometers distance.

Dir. Brenda Corvera of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Agusan del Norte will conduct training on abaca weaving (tinagak), while Engr. Charlyn Binghoy of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) will conduct training on Culture Sensitivity.

Mr. Andre Atega, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer of DAR-Agusan del Norte through Ms. Marlyn Negrido already released 25 heads swine to Women’s Group in the said barangay.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) likewise has committed to provide assorted seedlings and technical assistance to the beneficiaries.

For the part of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Mr. Rustico Ranoco committed to conduct training on Tilapia Production and Hydroponics, as well as the provision of tilapia fingerlings.

Furthermore, Mr. Keith Duran, Provincial Head of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Agusan del Norte has already given P1 million cash for the establishment of Green Charcoal Project which is already transferred to Barangay San Antonio. It was learned that the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) already spearheaded the conduct of the technical training.

Further, DOLE-Caraga provided hilot massage starter toolkits composed of massage oil, face towel, steamer, body powder, and lotion.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Army are tasked to provide security to all member-agencies during the conduct of all PRLEC-related activities.

Finally, the Provincial Agriculturist Office through Mr. Alvin Aclan will also provide 50 heads Kaber, 2 pairs goat, 2 pairs swine, and 1,000 pcs. Tilapia fingerlings. The DA’s regional office through RD Abel James Monteagudo will also be providing assorted seedlings.

It can be recalled that the establishment of the Agri-Tourism Enterprise is one of the PRLEC priority projects that has been identified by Gov.
