also bc i am Talking today fun fact about me. I have never seen any breaking bad BUT i did watch an episode of better call saul once. when i got my wisdom teeth out it was Horrible And Awful and i was in Mouth Pain for an entire week and because of it i was far too miserable to hide out in my room so i ended up hanging out with my parents while they watched tv instead and it just happened that that week the third to last episode of better call saul was broadcast. Seeing more and more blogs without a [username].tumblr.com site which means you can only view their blogs in tumblr.com/[username] mode, and I realized just the other day that nowadays you have to manually go to your blog settings and toggle the "enable custom theme" switch to have a browser site activated.

I REALLY recommend activating this! Especially if you're an artist or if you have a themed blog, like if you reblog fanart for a specific fandom or ship. First and foremostly you can change the whole theme if you want to, you can really just go wild with building your personal aesthetic for your page.

But what I think is even more important, is that you NEED to "enable custom theme" to enable access to your archive!* The link [username].tumblr.com/archive doesn't work if you don't have this enabled!

If you post art or archive fanart or fandom content of any kind, letting people access your archive makes it so much easier for people (and yourself) to find older art on your blog or to look for something you drew a while ago that they remember loving and want to look at again.

We talk lots about how on Tumblr old art gets to circulate, and the archive is part of how that works. It's a really useful tool in finding good content that isn't brand new. And especially if you are good at tagging, it's very easy to filter the archive to find ship content or meta or fics, whatever you want to find.

*edit: It seems that the ability to see the archive actually has to do with the Visibility toggles. You can have custom theme deactivated and still access the archive if your blog is set to visible without an account and/or searchable on Tumblr and through search engines. Something like that, it seems like for some people... it also just glitches? IDK I didn't expect for this to take off. I'm just some guy on the internet. HOWEVER. I still recommend activating custom theme for several reasons that people have pointed out in different tags and reblogs. All of these toggles are under "edit appearance" or by going to your Settings and then navigating over to your Blog Settings. Peace ✌️

On “Insecure Jikookers”…

Alright. I might lose followers for this and that’s very okay; curate your timeline and protect your peace babes. But for YEARS, every time the phrase “insecure jikooker” has come up on my feed my eyelid has done a little twitchy twitch 🤨🤨

And I have always ignored it, because I’ve never wanted to be out here policing ppl’s language and we are literally supposed to be having fun and celebrating love, like for me that’s the whole point, but —

I’ve been seeing the phrase popping up again surrounding the release of AYS and I just gotta say it.

You guys the term seems so culty 😬🥲

Like I think I get the origin (maybe)? It probably started when some of the early jikook bloggers (if you are one I salute you, I am not worthy, trust me this is NOT a dig at anyone, jikook bloggers are by and large cool and kind af 🙇‍♀️) would get these sketchy asks that were antis or cultists in disguise just casting aspersions on jikook’s bond or being blatantly homophobic and/or in general being rude little anonymous internet gremlins. Or maybe it was people who did want to believe that jikook was real but kept nagging and begging for reassurance at every turn, which I can totally see becoming annoying as hell and prompting people to start using the term.

But it feels like it’s used now as like a catchall for anyone who expresses any doubt or asks any critical questions? Even like… reasonable ones? And I used to see a lot of “hey believe what you want to believe but this is what I believe” but now it seems like the sentiment around jikooker communities has by and large become “if you don’t believe you’re an idiotic dumb person who has never known love — you’re either a rival shipper in disguise or WORSE (dun dun dunnnnn) an Insecure Jikooker — and we don’t want people like you around.”

And idk it just feels weird for a community that has always seemed to kind of pride itself on being the “rational, fact-based” ship… like we LOVE to be smug about how jikook don’t need edits to be obvious, don’t need slo-mo zooms with red circles and arrows because their chemistry and fondness and affection is just plain to see in basic footage. We’re the levelheaded ones 😌.

But doesn’t that mean that we should always be encouraging critical thinking, and if someone comes to a different conclusion than us, so be it? Like it or not, none of us have foolproof confirmation that jikook are anything more than very close friends. That’s literally all we know. The rest is our best guess based on vibes, anecdotes, dot-connecting, subtext and body language observation, experience, perception (!!This is a big one because confirmation bias is real!!), and suspicion. That’s literally it.

Look maybe I’m just projecting 😅 but when you criticize people for expressing reasonable doubt over something that is literally not confirmed, it’s just a little too religious fundamentalist for me! (This is why I was a bad Christian, because I always raised my hand and asked questions the Sunday school teacher didn’t like.)

Feel free to ignore me. I never want to come across as pushy or trying to stir up anything, it’s just a phrase that grinds my gears and I’m sort of hoping I’m not alone in that… but if I am, so be it! 🤣 would love to hear people’s thoughts because maybe I’m missing something.

I once said that he doesn't prioritise personal connection, but it's more nuanced than that, so very badly worded from my part.

Gojo very much understood personal connections and relationships.

Gojo however loves being the strongest, he loves his strength, revels in it infact and wouldn't give up on it for anything, even if it caused him loneliness and that's why his dehumanisation comes from HIMSELF too. He is fine being a tool and being lonely if it means he can have his strength. Yes, his mindset is fucked up, that's the point.

That's why I never subscribed to all the "bring back nerfed" theories because chapter 236 made it ever clear.

Sukuna calls him (and kashimo) greedy, because unlike sukuna who thinks "love" is worthless, gojo very much wants both connections AND strength.

It wasn't that people were not reaching out to him, it's just that, he wouldn't stoop to their level, he wanted them to become stronger so that they can become as strong as him, so no one is lonely, so that strength doesn't isolate them like it did with him.

He pushes away people while at the same time craves attachment and understanding, but since he would NEVER give up on his strength, that results into largening the gap/distance even more. He causes his own misery and is ready to live with it.

The recent chapter was pretty much very consistent with his portrayal, he fully committed to his role by becoming the monster he was stopping himself from being all these year, for his students. Even in this chapter yuta very much reached out to him, in a way gojo couldn't to geto during that kfc meet, but it's gojo who again decided that it's his burden to bear alone. His was being reached out, it's HIM who didn't close the gap.

People are not ok with him just being treated like a tool and just being seen for his strength, but my point is, when has he ever had any identity beyond being "The strongest," not to imply he doesn’t have any other identity at all, but everyone always prioritized his identity as the strongest, EVEN he himself.

That's the reason why he loved his youth so much and considered it the best time of his life, because then, he had BOTH, strength and a equal buddy (geto), that's why that friendship lasted such huge impact on him. (Also imma just say here, people both underestimate and overestimate his relationship with geto, it's very funny to watch)

People were complaining about characters seeing him as a tool, but they were quite unironically doing the very same thing. Putting him on pedestal, using him to continue being in series for their own happiness and enjoyment of the series, not respecting his wishes from chapter 236, and treating him the same way characters within the story do with him.

Also, you can dislike the way he was treated, that's precisely the point, but don't go around claiming the gege assassinated his own writing because your dislike ≠ bad writing. People are using morality of their real life within a story where everything is being questioned, the so called "good guys" of the story keep repeating that they are not heros, most of them are murderers themselves.

The curses are showing humanity, everything related to normal human morality is being questioned.

So the "he would be happy powerless" doesn't work because thats what YOUR morality tells you (its fine to feel that way), but he most likely wouldn't be happy with it, he isn't a real person either lol. Dude has nasty aspects to him, it’s one of them, they add more to his character, he is selfish (and selfless too), and let him be like that.

In the very end, Gojo very much managed to raise a bunch of students who will carry his will, he is alive in them.

Pretty much my rant after this chapter because of the discourse going around is creating wayyy too many misinterpretations. Also I don't care what you think of the series as long as you just stop forcing your beliefs on others and saying its bad writing, when it's not. I don't think a character can exist outside of the narrative or story he was created in, gojo is amazing because of jujutsu kaisen story, outside of it, who is he?

During the finale, specifically Ari screaming at Fable, ny brain was yelling that one audio that says "murder me like you murdered my mother" multiple times, screaming, cuz Ari deserved to say that to his face, she deserved to tell that bastard how much *damage* he caused not only to their family but to thousands of others, to tell him how much of a fucking asshole he is for tearing thousands of souls just trying to live a peaceful afterlife away from their home, to tear the allays away from each other, to kill those he did.

He's the reason (among others but still) that they lost so much, the reason she can't look her siblings in the eyes and say that they can go home, the reason their friends lost family, the reason they had to fight so much just so the allays weren't vexed, and even if they lost some of those fights, she still *tries*

Not to leave out what he's done to their new family, to Fenris, to Rae, to heck even Ven, to *everyone*, he's the root of so much suffering and he *still* tried to make them forgive him, make them think he's the good guy even though he's done so fucking much to them, like they would turn a blind eye to what he's done

Where's the fandom at now?

It's a huge project and that's why I want you all to help me with it! What do I want your help with? At the moment this is my list!

Research and Fact Checking on the "Content" Section, especially on lesser known topics like the musical or the cut content! (Pspspsps calling the five of you who actually know what the musical is)

RESEARCH AND FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCES OF THE ONCELER FANDOM'S EARLY DAYS!! I joined this place in 2023 so I don't know much about the early days of the fandom, and I want to know SO much more than I do! I want to know the scope, everything from the in-jokes to the aus to the deoncelerization. If you've been in this fandom since 2012 I would LOVE to hear from you!

Last but not least, I want the end of this video to be a love letter to this community, sharing firsthand experiences of what the Onceler as a character and the fandom means to you! I want to conduct interviews with people over discord (which is going to be a lot less fancy than it sounds so dw, it's not going to be an interrogation LMAO)

Specifics are subject to change but one thing will stay, I want to end the video to be made out of raw Love and Appreciation for this fandom, showcasing the side of this little corner of the internet that people who brush it off as mindless cringe don't see. All I've seen from this community is love and support and I want to be the video essayist who shows it for what it is!

At the moment I don't really have much of a plan (I'm not a very good planner lol), but if enough interets garners I know it'll help me streamline my motivation and come up with a game plan!

Feel free to leave me suggestions for where to go from here, maybe give out my discord? Make a Discord Server? Maybe there's something I can do solely on tumblr? I don't know! I don't know at all how Tumblr works! Help Me! Am just a little guy!

If she doesn't feel well, he will understand that, and won't force her to go outside if she refuses to. But he will always be in the same room as her, comforting her with pats and snacks

He's not good with words at all, and will comfort her by watching shows, playing games, or just buying her food

If she has the power to go out, Hanma will spoil her with gifts

Takes her to her favorite bakery and eats sweets with her, trying to make her forget about the encounter

Gives piggy back rides, deffo

For shits and giggles, he will tease her about their childhood memories and probably will chase her around a field, or play hide and seek with her

Always makes sure to check up on her, though, and walks with her to and after school

Definitely gets Kisaki involved and both devise a plan to hunt the bastard down and kill them

Hanma makes sure their death is slow and painful, torturing them first

Kisaki is filming everything

They touched you? Both their arms are now broken

If she has a strong stomach, Hanma won't hesitate to show her the video

Even after months and years, he will still interrogate every single new friend his sister makes, especially if it's a guy

No, really, he deffo will cry with her

Buys tons of dorayaki and taiyaki to eat with her and bawl their eyes out together

Has a big blanket wrapped around them and asks Emma to make them lots of ramen to eat together

He will bring her with him at all times, and even when he cannot be around, he will tell either Draken or Takemichi to look after her

Follows you like a dog, he's way too afraid to let you out alone anymore

Emma will also comfort you with him, taking you shopping, making you cook with her and etc.

Mikey will be goofier so he makes you laugh, or he will do stupid shit that will make your life flash before your eyes, just so you forget about all that for a while

Always tries to talk to her and develop very deep topics (without any sexual ones) so she can relax around him and talk in peace

Asks for in depth narration of how her day went, listens to all the new gossip from school or just in general

Goes to the arcade with her. A huge try-hard that wins all the games and gets her plushies, competes with her on who will eat more taiyaki (he always wins but lets her win instead)

However, deep inside, under all this happiness, Mikey will be boiling with rage and is desperately trying to find the person who did this to her

He wants to deal with them alone, and he does so

Manages to get some information from her beforehand, and he makes sure the bastard never touches another human being again

Mikey ambushes him, and beats him to a pulp, carrying the blood of the assaulter with pride

Oh lord

He will be furious, and it will be prominent even under his blank expression.

Goes insane, trashing and walking around the entire building like a maniac searching for their stash (after she's left, he doesn't want her to see him like this)

Asks her to tell him everything, absolutely

Immediately orders Kokonoi to take her out shopping, buy her all the shit she lays her eyes upon, and lets her order everyone around for the time being

If not, he doesn't leave the room without her, always supervises her and stays near her

Not good with words , but somehow tries making his presence more.. comforting around her

Doesn't act too harshly in front of her, so to not scare her

Pats her head and tells her "It's not your fault" "I'll make sure this never happens to you again."

Teaches her self defense, and buys her all sorts of pepper sprays, knives (he'd never let her use a gun or katana in her life) and etc.

Still asks his subordinates to keep an eye out on her when she has to go out (he cannot go out for obvious reasons)

Doesn't sleep until he finds who did this to her

Makes sure their death is gruesome and slow, and uses all torture methods bonten has to offer

Doesn't say anything, nor has a hasty reaction

Would take her to a bakery, order cheesecake and listen to her vent about it

Listens attentively, and doesn't dare to interrupt

Abides by her wishes the entire day, buys her food, carries her on his back, does everything she asks him to

Another one who isn't good with words. But his love languge will be cleaning her room and taking over her chores, placing a packet of snacks on her desk, every time

Tells her teachers not to bother her too much until she's feeling better

Hugs her, but for no longer than 5 seconds

For the sake of her wellbeing, Sanzu lets her do his hair, his skin care, pluck his eyebrows, and even try on new make up

Watches her from the shadows, all the time. She doesn't notice him at all, but he's there, ready to act when needed

If she manages to give him information on how the person looked, Sanzu will hunt them down with Muto

Muto will beat them to a pulp, and Sanzu will cut off their fingers one by one

Man's furious

Doesn't even fucking wait, demands to find the fucker right now on the spot

He cannot sit straight knowing that the person hasn't been dealt with

Makes her choose how the bastard is dealt with. She wants him to get killed? Good. Drugged to death? Done. Tortured to the point of complete insanity and desperation? Hell yeah.

If she doesn't want to watch nor stay around, Sanzu will keep the bastard in a basement, torturing them every day.

As for comfort, he's not much different from his younger self.

Will probably ask her to do drugs with him but Ran and Rindou will punch him

Brings her random stray animals for her to pet and play with

Long, long night walks around the city, talking about random shit that makes her forget about everything

Lets her style his hair, again

Books trips to whenever, asking Koko to help with the money, of course. Most of the time it is outside Japan

Makes sure the memories are unforgettable (most of the time it's him doing crazy shit like starting random fights, tripping over, doing hand stands on children's playgrounds)

Enjoys playing their favorite music and dance with her

Gives her in depth lessons of how to use weapons, and would even lend her his katana (but will always supervise her)
