Okay! My first plush restoration/customization :) I started with this one because she was the most worn out of the lot, so I figured even a really minor transformation while I learn the basics would be significant. I removed and repainted the face (and made a lot of mistakes there but I think she still looks cute), and washed, brushed, and restuffed the body. Then I remade new accessories for her because the old ribbons on her collar and tail were really threadbare. Since her face came out much more peachy than the original, I tried to bring some of those darker colors into the design. I also trimmed down the tail fur to make the shape read better, and since her head fur was too thin to pull back into a ponytail, I gave her a feisty little pixie cut instead lmao

Kamikotized Hero Design

Working on writing the first Hero Shadybug and Claw Noir fought. It’s rather long so in order to save space, I wanted to describe the costume’s finer details here, along with reference pics. If anyone is a talented artist and is accepting commissions, I would be most grateful~

Mireille Caquet as kamikotized hero “Faerie Weather”

Her design is a combination of her weather powers and a korean “fairy” from folklore, a tribute to her korean heritage as well has a pun on “Fair weather” which is the opposite of the “Stormy Weather” akumatized villain that Hawkmoth created.

(In the universe of Shadybug and Claw Noir, Aurora became the weather girl instead of Mireille, but rather than being bitter about it, she is supportive of her friend but wishes there was something she could do when terrible weather conditions threaten to destroy a very important event)

Her hairstyle is the same but her hair is now a pale lavender and her eyes a golden sun yellow. Instead of her normal human ears, she has long, pointy, elf-like ears that stick out of her hair for a cute, pixie-ish effect.

She wears a korean hair band and the ornament in the middle of her forehead looks like the sun peeking out from behind a gray cloud and there are 3 strands of blue, raindrop shaped beads that hang down. (See reference photo for hair ornament placement)

Via make-up, her face is just slightly paler than her usual color and she has more pink peachy blush on her cheeks than usual, a bold, bright lucky red lipstick (to symbolize strength), and peachy-red and white eye make-up that is dramatic but modernly stylish rather than traditional. (See eye make-up reference photo)

Her costume is similar to hanbok (traditional korean wear) with the jeogori (top) being a bright sky blue with white trim and canary yellow ribbon bow. There is sparse embroidery on the blue section and it looks like fluffy white clouds with an occasional rainbow. Sleeves are traditional shape and length.

    The chima (skirt) is shorter than traditional length, like a casual modern hanbok style or that of a magical school-girl (but not pleated or ruffled) it comes to just above the knees but the majority of the upper thigh is still covered because while Mireille is a modern teen, she still dresses modestly because that is her comfort level.

The skirt is white, as is her leggings- not only because it symbolizes purity and innocence, but because white hanbok in korea represent resistance and petition against injustice and abuse of authority (it does not symbolize death like a white kimono does in japan).

     There is very little embroidery on the bottom edge of the skirt and it looks like golden outlines of shining suns. (Optional if you think it looks too busy)

          Her shoes are traditional unhye in canary yellow- to represent taking action.

         (These are to incorporate the 5 colors of korea which is found in most traditional wear, with the exception of black (death) which has been replaced with the pale lavender for a gentler look.)

Her item that contains the kamiko is a traditional rounded hand fan, dandeon.

The tasseled knot hanging from the bottom of the fan is rainbow. The picture painted on the paper part of the fan changes depending on the power she wishes to use- if she wanted to use the power of wind, she would spin the handle to flip the fan to the other side and you would see a picture of a gust of wind blowing away clouds. For rain, flip again and the picture changes to dark clouds with rain falling, etc. Then it is simply a matter of waving the fan in the direction she wishes the selected weather to go, just like how in canon, Stormy Weather/Climatika had to point her parasol to direct her powers. Please draw a weather symbol of your choice. It should be simple and cute- like the kind you would expect a teen weather girl to show the forecast on a map. 

She does not fly with wings, but like an asian dragon does not fly but rather grabs clouds to crawl across the sky, Fairy Weather steps on tiny blue balls of flame (no bigger than tennis balls) like stepping stones. (This is another nod to old Korean folklore).

 She still has Mireille’s gentle smile.

Unlike the garish/clownish villains that Hawkmoth creates, the kamikotized heroes that Betterfly creates are beautiful/handsome/cute and actually stylish.

Sirius burst into the four marauders’ shared dorm to find James and Peter engaged in a very intense game of Exploding Snap with Remus as spectator. All three heads jerked up from their game to see Sirius’ blinding smile.

James immediately jumped to his feet. “What is it?” he asked excitedly, “Filch is retiring? You got a new package of dung bombs? Your mother died?”

“I...” Sirius announced.

He raised his head high and paused dramatically. Peter’s eyes widened in anticipation. James hopped up and down. Remus raised an eyebrow.

“am back on the market, baby!”

James, Peter and Remus deflated in unison, instantly turning back to their game of Exploding Snap, grumbling as the cards reshuffled.

“Thought it was something interesting.”

“Melodramatic as always, Black.”

“Ground-breaking news for sure.”

“Hey!” Sirius said, sounding a little hurt his best friends’ quick dismissal, “I was expecting a little more reaction here.”

Remus snorted. “Maybe there would be if this wasn’t your fourth break-up this month –and it’s only the seventeenth,” he added with a hint of venom in his voice.

Sirius looked taken aback. “What? My fourth— No, that can’t be. Have you been counting, Moony?”

To Sirius’ immense surprise, Remus’ face had turned a severe shade of crimson.

“Oh, dear!” James exclaimed, pressing the back of his hand against Remus’ forehead, “You’re not coming down with a fever, are you, Moony?”

But Remus seemed unable to answer. Indeed, as Sirius dropped to his knees beside them, Remus seemed unable to even hold eye-contact with anyone.

“Peter,” James commanded urgently, “Go fetch a wet washcloth from the bathroom. We need to—“

“—get out of here,” Peter interjected, standing up.

James looked confused.

“Me and you, James,” Peter continued, a curious gleam in his eye, “We need to get out of here right now.”

A look of dawning comprehension passed over James’ face.

“Right you are, Wormy my boy!” he chirped. All the worry in his voice was replaced by a sudden joviality.

And just like that, James and Peter had rushed out of the dormitory, leaving Sirius and Remus behind before they could get the chance to ask any questions.

“Uh, hi,” Sirius said, suddenly nervous after realising he was alone with Remus.

“Hi,” Remus replied, his voice sounding unusually high-pitched and not masculine at all.

“So… you’re not actually sick, are you?”

“Nope.”

They both chuckled nervously, and before Sirius could stop himself, he blurted out the question that had been nagging at him for weeks.

“Why are you avoiding me?”

Remus blinked. Sirius blinked. Remus blinked again.

“I’m not avoiding you,” Remus said, sounding doubtful.

“Yes, you are!” Sirius insisted, all his shyness vanishing, “This is the first time we’ve been alone in weeks! When it’s all four of us, you act like everything is just peachy. But whenever James and Peter aren’t around, you start making up lame excuses to not hang out with me. Sorry, Pads, I have to finish homework. Sorry, Pads, I have to do Prefect rounds. Sorry, Pads, I have detention with McGonogall; she wasn’t too happy about that pixie stunt I pulled.”

Remus was so scandalised by Sirius’ horribly inaccurate impression of him. He stood up and yelled rather shrilly, “Well, it’s not like I’m the only one who’s been busy lately!”

“What do you mean?” Sirius demanded, standing up too.

“While I’ve been trying my best to distract myself with school and pranks, you’ve made it your goal to shag every breathing body at Hogwarts! Do you know how much I’ve had to put up with? You bringing a new person to the dorm every week, each one better-looking and more charming than the last!”

The redness of Remus’ cheeks was spreading down his neck. His words were coming out fast, louder, rawer.

“Do you have any idea how painful it’s been for me? How excruciating it is to see you snogging someone else? To see you laughing and talking and holding hands with someone who isn’t me? Do you know how much it hurts to know that you will never love me like-like I love you?”

And with that, Remus descended into tears. He covered his face with his hands. His shoulders shook. His throat ached from sobbing.

He was so, so embarrassed.

Then he felt Sirius gently pull his hands away from his face and envelope him in a tender embrace. All the reckless mistakes Sirius had made over the last few months came crashing down on him in huge waves of regret, and a great realisation hit him.

“Oh, Moony,” he whispered, rubbing Remus’ back and sounding on the verge of tears himself. “I love you too, Moony. I always have.”

I have to confess, it amused me how mortified Sanderson was to have his first real birthday party. He'd always been a difficult nut to crack. I knew of little that could fluster him. Of all the things to do it, it would be a birthday celebration. To my own surprise, I actually didn't mind the event… or the shifting of attention from me to him. Let him have his day. Things would be back to routine again soon enough.

"Are you still sore?" I asked when I fetched him from his apartment that morning. Hawkins and I had already started cooking breakfast in the other building. It wasn't like Sanderson to be late when it was his turn to help. Granted, at 159k myself, I'd been a loudmouthed rebel- but Sanderson? Nah. He was too dependable to bail on me without a two weeks' notice.

… Huh. I'd been 174,000 when I fled the Academy, jumping from Fairy World to Earth. I was over 491,500 when I came crawling back. And over 650,000 now, though Venus Eros had worked the best magic on my body that she could in an attempt to keep me youthful. How strange. A full 650k years of life experience under my belt, and sometimes I still felt only as mature as that sharp-tongued little "fairy" juvenile who dropped out of school. This body that I wore had been twisted up, dunked in the wash, scrubbed with bleach, and hung to dry again. I lived now on extremely borrowed time and Venus held my leash in the palm of her hand. That's not a favor I can ever repay. I am in her debt for the rest of my existence, and I suspect the rest of the pixie race is too. Which is just peachy. Love that for me.

"Incredibly sore, sir," Sanderson mumbled. He gripped my forearm with both hands, every step slow and wobbly as we made our way through the apartment hall. He'd put on fluffy snowflake socks that I didn't remember ever seeing him in before. No shoes. Still had his casual clothes on. His heels scraped along the thin carpet, scritching and scratching.

"It will pass."

Sanderson glanced over his shoulder at his new long, sweeping wings. I drank him in too. He's grown several inches taller than he'd been as a mere juvenile. Not quite as tall as I was, but getting closer. His wings now matched mine in length, though mine glittered transparent blue. His were tender, still smudged and milky-colored from the moulting. They reminded me in their haunting way of that afternoon nearly 160,000 years ago when Kalysta held him to her breast, nursing him until the flight casings cracked off his wings. He said, "The return to normalcy can't come soon enough, H.P.… I don't think I've ever ached this harsh in my life."

I trailed my eyes to his again. Sanderson, weak and winded, hadn't put on his shades. Those little lavender flecks looked just like mine. How strange. As a gyne, I was bulkier and more freckled than he was, but we shared every single one of our genes. We even shared the Ivorie brand cowlicks in our hair.

"That's only to be expected," I told him (in response to his complaint about the soreness). "You've just shed every pore on your body and put on several inches. The elasticity in your new skin isn't fully developed yet. Things will hurt more than you're used to. That goes for both inside and out. Be careful."

I didn't pressure him to help with breakfast, and especially not when he kept scratching off flakes of skin. His scalp had gotten the worst of it, so he kept pulling off little flakes from around his hair follicles. The younger pixies badgered him constantly about his new shape when he arrived at the pavilion. I had 320 of them now. 320 pixies who left me dripping with exhaustion and insanity every other day. Pregnancy had dealt a heavy blow to my once-youthful body, even though I didn't carry them the way that Fairy drakes did, but so far, Venus's medical intervention was winning. Hadn't died yet. And when we were in the pavilion and I sat across from Sanderson with my plate… it almost seemed a guarantee.

159,426 years.

Sanderson had his adult wings now. I'd known it was coming. Not the date, but I was just over 154,000 when I moulted into mine. He'd used less magic growing up than I did, aging more slowly because of it, but apart from that minor delay, our shedding patterns seemed nearly identical.

159,426. His inner organs, up until now the size of raisins in his tiny juvenile body, finally had room to grow. Exactly 500 years from now, he'd be fully fledged. Capable of reproducing… Well, if he were a Fairy, at least. I wasn't sure how things worked for pixies… I hadn't had Sanderson until I was almost 490k. Would his body draw the time out equally long? Or would there be third-generation pixies just a few centuries from now?

Three generations. My employees with offspring of their own. Yikes. Was I getting that old?

Bayard, holding little Featherstone (who scrambled over him), let out a whistle as Sanderson clumsily tried to push his new, longer legs between the picnic table and its bench. "Well, moulting sure acts fast. Your hips have already gotten wider, studmuffin."

"Have they?" Sanderson lifted his shirt and started to check himself over. I yanked it down down.

"Not here. Wait until you're alone."

"Yes, sir."

I contacted the Eroses during breakfast. Drk. Cupid answered my call, but he and his brothers had their hands full of work. That was fine by me. I was just glad a responsible adult - Drk. Ludell - poofed out in their place with his clipboard and wooden examination tools. Sanderson protested his probing, still wanting to eat his breakfast, but I held firm.

"Stay here and let him run his tests. You're the first adult pixie besides myself the Eros family has ever been able to observe. I need to get in contact with your Refract anyway. While I'm gone, show due respect to the Triplet of the Evening. He's overworked and underhyped."

Sanderson rolled his eyes, but that was the most youthful rebellion I saw from him.
