I totally with you re: Olivia pulling on Harry’s heartstrings. I’m an empath and I fully believe that Harry is too, I see a lot of my own empathic traits in him so I don’t think it’s easy for him to cut people off and be done with them just like that because he feels other peoples feelings. It’s so difficult to look after yourself and do what’s right for you when you can literally feel what the other person is feeling.

As a side note, I’ve watched some Zarry videos (I like to look into everything to make a fair judgement for myself, I’m wholeheartedly a Larrie after making these judgements and doing research) and I feel like a lot of Harry’s behaviour towards Zayn is empathy being mistaken for romantic feelings. Zayn struggled in the band, it’s no secret and I feel like Harry took on a lot of Zayn’s feelings and felt them himself, in an empathic way ❤️

Oh, what a lovely way to connect to Harry. I can definitely see what you mean. He’s very sensitive towards other’s people’s feelings, yet being an empath doesn’t (have to) mean, he can’t set boundaries and make his emotions a priority too.

I hope that he’s able to distance himself when needed, and can still be empathetic enough to be respectful of other people’s feelings.

Empathy is a gift first, and shouldn’t be a burden. But knowing first hand - some can only learn that later in life. Therapy is a great resource if one is privileged enough to get one that is.

Hello, love! (Just keep in mind that English isn't my first language and yeah I'm new on Tumblr so I don't really know how to use it; so bear with me please). So I wanted to ask you, what do you think about zarry? I mean I'm a Larrie but my irl is a zarrie and we were having an argument about it and they convinced me to watch videos about zarry and let me tell you, I was so confused like Zayn and Harry sharing a bed (in the "it's time to wake up" video), the lighter on nightstand of Harry's bed which imo was Louis' but Zayn also smoked, Harry writing walking through the wind about Zayn leaving, Harry being plain rude/angry whenever Zayn was brought up in interviews (when we all know he's such sweet person), Zayn having songs called she and golden and Harry naming his songs she and golden. Plus they were pointing out that the fish in adore you mv and Vibez mv is kinda connected? I was so confused and didn't know what to tell them and I haven't talked to them since.

So, what do you think should I say to them?

Hi sugar. There’s nothing to say to someone who wants to believe stuff like that. Harry and Zayn are both very attractive. People like to imagine them together. That’s the extent of Zarry. They’re not writing songs about/for each other. But I don’t have the energy to go into debunking everything, I’m afraid.

As for Zarry, There’s too much evidence that there something going on with these two more than friendship. Not just video clips although there’s plenty of them, (sneaky ones that happened right under our nose- like Harry licking Zayns ears), but outsiders who’ve become invested after seeing and hearing things. When people in the industry spoke up is what got my attention. I can explain coincidences all day long, but just watch Zarry docs on YouTube it’s all there. She debunks Larry with all video proofs, etc. and the fact that they wernt like 16/17 it went on the entire time. Of course believe what you will, and I don’t believe every connection she makes about them, but at least check it out.

I'm not all too interested in discussing Larry or Zarry but here's a response for the anon who requested it! Personally, I don't believe it but that's just me. I do think they were friends though

Hi.. I have a sort of theory but i don't if anyone ever made the connection, i'm kinda new here... So I think walking in the wind song is about zayn or probably at least want it to be and then in the sign of the times video harry is literally walking in the wind, when i actually heard the song for the first it sounded lost love... but i know there is official narration of song inspiration, a lot of Z & H seems to be back and forth convo betn them, i might be reaching here but what do u think?

and god, I didn’t see the connection till now…. I’m such a fake™ but anyway, I recall a lot of people screaming about the song being about zayn so I listened to it again and damn, they right. I also did my research and it seems like harry wrote the song. None of the other three boys contributed to it. It was all harry. (Funny how the only one direction song that is rumored to be about zayn is written by Harry. Right? What. A. Coincidence.)

Also, since you brought up sott and most dark zarries™ agree that FTDT is about Zayn, no one metioned how sott is… somehow about zayn.

what makes larry so different for you, doesnt zarry and lilo and all the other ships have matching tattoos and sexual tension as well im very new like i found this fandom last week and i havent made a lot of research but id like to know :)

Oh wow. What a time to enter the fandom! Welcome. Yeah, it’s a HUGE amount of information to absorb and then process. Look, you can’t take my word (or anyone else’s, for that matter) on why one might be more real than another, but I’ll give you my thoughts and then give you a bunch of links to hopefully help you make up your own mind about what you believe. Sound OK?

I’ll put it under the cut because it got quite long.

Let’s start with tattoos. 

Louis & Zayn both have Bus 1 tattoos. 

They’ve explained that tattoo as being a reference to the tour bus they both spent a lot of time on. All the boys (barring Niall who has no tattoos) each have a screw on their ankle.

I’m not a huge Ziam stan so I don’t know about their matching tattoos, but I’d check in with @sexatoxbridge​ or @mellygrant​ because both would know WAY more than me about that ship/relationship. I’m super familiar with Harry and Louis’ tattoos, but much less so when it comes to Zayn & Liam I know some people think Harry & Zayn have matching Pink Floyd tattoos.

They’re similar, yes. But I don’t know if they match. And I haven’t heard any stories about a deeper meaning behind either of these tattoos. There’s been speculation about Harry’s possibly being an LGBT triangle and the light refracting through it being a rainbow, but that’s just a theory. And yes, Zayn has a skull tattoo and so do both Louis and Harry, but they don’t seem to go together to me.

The thing about Harry and Louis’ tattoos isn’t that they match, it’s that a lot of them correspond. And very often there’s a significant event or time frame involved that makes the fandom feel that they connect. Which is why even if the other boys have a matching tattoo or two, Harry and Louis have MANY sets of corresponding tattoos and that’s just too much coincidence to be coincidence in my opinion. 

Here’s a tattoo timeline master post for Harry and Louis’ tattoos that can help you see what I’m talking about. As far as I know, it hasn’t been updated with Harry’s newest tattoos: the bee, the “R”, “Jackson” and “Arlo”. There are a lot of reasons to believe the bee is connected to Louis and to babygate. 

Sexual Tension

So, I do think there was definitely some sexual chemistry between Zayn and Liam - particularly in the early years. There are some videos of them where it’d be hard to explain what the heck was going on if you didn’t think there was some attraction between them. Like I said, I’m not deep into Ziam because I just don’t have the mental energy to devote, but I do think there was something real going on there. Whether it still is going on, I wouldn’t know, but there are definitely people in this fandom who can give a good rundown.

As for the rest of the “ships”, I just don’t see sexual chemistry there at all. I think Harry is often very flirty and physical with everyone, everyone was a bit in love with Louis in the beginning (and he definitely is someone whose attention all the boys seem to want all the time), all 5 of the boys are exceptionally physical and affectionate with each other - some of which was, I believe, to take the heat off of Harry and Louis’ naturally affectionate behavior towards each other, but some of it is just how they all are with each other. Liam was perhaps the least like this at first, but he didn’t stand a chance. LOL. 

When I look at how Harry and Louis react to each other’s presence, how they respond to each other - both physically and verbally, when I look at the lyrics of the songs each of them have written over the years, when I watch videos of them in interviews and performances, when I think about their corresponding travel schedules - all of it points to a real, committed, romantic, long term relationship. Not just a “ship”.

Some of the links may be redundant, but if you can actually go through the bulk of these I think you should have a pretty good comprehension of the background. If you have time to watch any of @freddiesmyqueen‘s videos on YouTube, that’s a fast road down the Larry rabbit hole.

There are tons of people in the fandom who may disagree with my thoughts, but that’s cool. You should absolutely do your own research and your own thinking and decide for yourself what’s real and what’s not. I don’t always 100% agree with everything Larries theorize, but the bottom line is that I do believe those two boys are in love. 

I’m not sure if this fully answers your question, but it’s one of those things that’s really hard to sum up in a blog post.
