Now that our beloved show is coming back for two seasons, can we do another round of “who is still in the pnf fandom”? Because I’m definitely following people who are no longer in the fandom and NOT following enough people who are currently in the fandom.
So please like and/or reblog if you’re in the pnf community!

A Future Return For O.W.C.A. Files? (Discussion):
Tumblr media
A frame from the OWCA Files theme song sequence.
O.W.C.A Files is a 1 hour special that premiered on Disney XD November 9, 2015 a while after Phineas And Ferb’s “final” episode.
It was one of the possible spin-offs the creators thought about doing, but it didn’t really go anywhere. It followed the B-plot characters post Doofenshmirtz turning good which is a smart idea for a spin-off since most people tended to like the B-part of the story better while more were bored with the A-plot.
However, among the fanbase it is a pretty controversial episode. Some complaints are that Doofenshmirtz is too annoying in the episode, the character design isn’t great, animation is mediocre, the pacing isn’t good, and the existence of the “Bits of All Of Us” song which some found very pre-school-like.
Tumblr media
It definitely could have used Norm or Vanessa to balance out the absence of another talking being while also toning down Doof’s annoying-ness over the course of a series, but I still think it was a pretty solid episode with other Phineas And Ferb level songs and shows the Doof n’ Perry action packed secret agent show spin-off that could have been.
Other spin-offs like a Fireside Girls one and Doof 101 were also contemplated, but out of many different show pitches, Milo Murphy’s Law would ultimately become the next show Dan and Swampy would work on instead, as well as the next Dwampyverse show.
Tumblr media
But could O.W.C.A. Files still be?
Before the revival was announced the creators have always talked about how they might one day revisit the show in “the next summer”.
Since it’s starting to look more and more like the Phineas And Ferb Revival will take place in the next summer while also visiting other episodes of the characters in the future it is possible that we could see an O.W.C.A. Files like B-Plot in a future episode once again, especially since Doofenshmirtz might likely be good after he turned good in the Season 4 Finale and after the events of Milo Murphy’s Law.

Doof does return to evil in the timeline though.
When it comes to the episodes that Doof is still evil in, but take place after the events of the Summer, (the Christmas and New Years specials/ etc.), Co-Creator Dan Povenmire’s explanation was that sometime after the events of Doof 101 (the fall after the summer) and before or after OWCA Files (I forget) Doof relapsed to an evil phase again which is believable, but after the events of Milo Murphy’s Law where his new, less evil, destiny is revealed it is less likely the creators will want to make him evil again unless they decide to switch of the Dwampyverse timeline once again🫠.

Milo Murphy’s Law and O.W.C.A. files both proved the B-Plot does not rely on Doofenshmirtz to be evil for entertainment. Not to mention some of the most memorable moments of the B-plot in the series have Doof being pretty tame and actually working together with Perry to accomplish a task.
However, it still seems unclear whether the crew or executives will decide to make him evil again or not in order to capture the same charm of the original show. We’ll just have to wait for the next announcement of new details soon.
Overall, it’s probably about a 50/50 chance whether the B-Plot will be an O.W.C.A. Files like Doof n Perry duo fighting evil, or not.
Even if nothing like that appears in the revival, Povenmire did sign a deal with Disney to make additional shows for the Disney Channel, including properties for the Dwampyverse, which means something like O.W.C.A. Files could still be on the table as a future show.
Tumblr media
How do you think they will handle the show?
Also, feel free to point out any details in the essay that should be changed.

Everyday I think about the fact that new Phineas and Ferb episodes are being made again, and that season 5 is supposed to be coming out sometime this year, I can't help but desperately hope that it is set in the next summer.
I almost feel like they should just make the new seasons a sequel series instead of just literally more episodes of the same series.
Like it's been nearly 10 years since the original run of episodes ended, and 17 years since the series originally aired for the first time.
I feel like most kids who are going to be watching the new seasons are going have been introduced to the show by an older relative who grew up with it.
But having the new seasons start the following summer means it can start with a completely different status quo compared to the first one, which means a new fan could just jump into the newer episodes without necessarily needing to watch the old episodes.
I mean, in the original series they made references to things that happened pre-series a number of times. During the first episode Linda references a time where Candace insisted Phienas and Ferb were teaching monkeys to juggle bicycles.
Not to mention they have status quo changes that happen during the original series that means some episodes only make sense if you've seen a previous one.
For example during the first 4 episodes (well 8 segments), Buford and Beljeet hadn't been introduced yet. Candace and Jeremy don't start dating until Summer Belongs to You, which is the end of season 2. The episode where Norm is created, the episode where Love Handal gets back together.
Phineas and Ferb is an episodic show for the most part, but it does have some level of continuity, where things that happen in earlier episodes are referenced or reused later. Even if it's actual timeline has the integrity of well cooked pasta.
And all I'm saying, if they literally pick up right were they left off, constantly making jokes and references to things that happened earlier that summer (because honestly by the last season I feel like the show referenced something that happened previously in the series once an episode).
I feel like that would confuse new viewers just getting into the show more than just starting over with the first day of the following summer.
Also they had like a finale finale at the end of season 4 that was the literal last day of summer. And I don't know how just trying to continue on with the same summer would work when they very firmly closed the book with Last Day of Summer parts 1 & 2.

PnF Revival Episode Title Predictions PART 1
The new episode titles just came out, so I'm gonna start making predictions about the new batch (some more outlandish than others just to get more of a laugh if they turn out to be true). I'll come back later after watching the episodes to see how I did.
Summer Block Buster - Something about making a movie, probably. I got nothin.
Cloudy with a Chance of Mom - This one sounds interesting. Possibly a Meatballs reference? Some sort of mom storm? Moms falling from the sky? Might be figurative for a mom getting angry? Perhaps a mom who is also a meteorologist? Badass mom thing. Let's go with that.
Appetite for Adventure - This brings back Remains of the Platypus memories (the cheese thing with Monogram). This has to be a joke about figurative versus literal appetites. Eating contest again, perhaps?
License to Bust - Candace gets her driver's license? Candace gets some sort of license. Or someone gets a license. Candace gets a license to kill, I dunno.
Dry Another Day - Drying. Dry ANOTHER DAY? Rainy day?? So it'll be dry? Another day???? Somebody goes to the dry cleaners? Phineas and Ferb start a dry cleaning business? Clothesline ziplines???
Deconstructing Doof - Either exploring his character more in depth, or literally deconstructing him somehow. At the molecular level, perhaps.
Tropey McTropeface - Everybody turns into an anime trope except for one person who's just watching it all go down, confused as hell. Either that or it's just a really corny plot.
Biblio-Blast! - Baljeet gets book-themed superpowers. Or somebody studies a lot.
A Chip to the Vet - Squirrels go to the vet. Perhaps Perry goes to the vet and has to hide his beeping watch and stuff the whole time. Maybe an animal has a chipped tooth.
More Than an Intern - Carl's epic story. Like Delivery of Destiny, but with Carl. Carl gets a weird musical number to go along with it, perhaps?
The Aurora Perry-Alis - Perry has a mission to help Santa in the North Pole and basically becomes an elf for a day. And/or Phineas and Ferb recreate the Aurora Borealis and make it go into all kinds of different shapes in the sky somehow, like you could draw an image of Perry with the northern lights.
Lord of the Firesides - Like in Lord of the Flies, the Fireside girls get stranded on a deserted island. Perhaps a Fireside-focused episode like Bee Story and Temple of Sap?
Agent T (For Teen) - Stacy helps out with OWCA somehow AND/OR day-in-the-life of Vanessa at her internship.
The Haberdasher - A Haberdasher is a "dealer in men's clothing" according to Google. We already had a fashion episode in season 1, though... Maybe we get more of the fashion designer from that episode? Or, for a crazier idea: The Haberdasher turns out to be some kind of Drusselstinian urban legend, like the Kinderlumper. The Kinderlumper episode was called "Der Kinderlumper", with "der" replacing "the", so maybe The Haberdasher is like the Kinderlumper's anglicized alter ego. Maybe the Haberdasher doesn't have anything to do with fashion at all!
Out of Character - Either everyone's personalities flip, everyone's personalities flip except for Candace's, someone's personality is explored on a deeper level and it has nothing to do with personality flips, or it has something to do with the second dimension.
Favorite episode prediction: Out of Character
Phinabella counter prediction: 13
Song/jingle counter prediction (not counting D.E.I.): 10
Laugh-out-loud counter prediction: 8
Let's see how this goes!! I'm excited!!!

My latest posts have been about the Phineas and Ferb revival. On that subject:
What will the theme song be?
Will they use the og, Bowling for Soup song? Maybe an excerpt from "We're Back"? Or do you think it will be a new song entirely?
