made cheese :)

it's got dried rosemary on top, that's the dark spots. made it for vappu, or may day! it's piimäjuusto, a traditional finnish cheese, soft so it doesn't keep long, but tasty and pretty easy to make :)

Daniel Juslenius totesi vuonna 1700, että Turun seudun laitumilla oli lehmien ohella myös sikoja ja vuohia. Turun kaupungin asukkailla olikin hänen mukaansa käytettävissään runsaasti maitoa, etenkin kesäaikaan erityisen paljon. Lehmät heikkenivät talviaikaan siinä määrin, että ne menivät umpeen eli lakkasivat lypsämästä. Samaan aikaan talonpojilla oli runsaasti tekemistä siinä, että he saivat ruokittua lehmänsä talven yli. Kesäaikaan maitoa sen sijaan riitti, mutta tuoretta maitoa ei siitä huolimatta juotu juuri ollenkaan. Osa maidosta erotettiin kermaksi ja kirnuttiin voiksi, joka suolattuna ja puupyttyihin tiiviisti pakattuna säilyi viileässä kellarissa nautintakelpoisena hyvinkin pitkään.

I really really hope BC would participate in more shows like Posse 😭 I could spend hours, no, DAYS, watching them just breathe. Maybe they should go to Big Brother??

I'm DYING for them to do more talk/game shows that activate the whole band. Of course I understand that they're busy with their actual musician's jobs, so they can't be visiting these kinda shows that often, but like...every once in a while, please? 🥺 and tbh, with the way their latest visit at Posse went (the interview being cut short literally mid-sentence, the activity part being ridiculously short) I wouldn't be surprised if they'd say no to participating in Posse next year 🙄

Personally I love all those kinda "who is the most likely to ..." kinda activities, at least if the questions are original (i.e. provide actually new information about the guys). I also really enjoyed the "what's in the box" video they did as part of their Eurovisioin promo after UMK. Them drawing Donald Duck characters was great fun too. And I will not shut up about how much I want Blind Channel to do a similar kind of tattoo roulette which One Direction did with James Corden 😩

Oot sie päässy maistaa suomalaisii ruokii (esim. salmiakki, piimä, mämmi, hernekeitto, makaroni- & maksalaatikko yms.) ja jos oot nii mitä mieltä?

muutamia oon maistanut! sijoitus seuraa:

rahka - mahtavaa, täydellistä, taivaasta ruokaa. söin sen kerran 16 vuotiaana ja sitä kaipasin joka päivä kunnes kävin suomessa viime vuonna

viili - niin paljon parempi ku jogurttia! tuntu ei mua haittaa ja tykkään siitä et se on jogurttia taajemman

hernekeitto - en tiiä kuuluuko tää tässä listauksessa koska söin sitä yhdysvalloissa, mut maistuu hyvältä! En yleensä pidä sopasta mut tää on poikkeusta.

lonkero - hyvä mut tilasin sitä ulkoravintolassa ja useat mehiläisiä hukkui siihen joten en juonut paljoa siitä.

puolikkahillo - herkullista! se on ostaavaa täällä ja oon ostanut pari purkkia vaikka mieluummin marionberry hilloa (paikallinen marjalaji). maistoin lakkahilloa vaan leipäjuuston kans joten annan sen toista mahdollisuutta

riisipiirakka - en odottanut tykkäämään siitä, mut maistuu yllättävästi hyvältä! yhtä paljon voita ku mahdollista, tietysti.

leipäjuusto - ehhhhhh, ei oo mun juttua. maistuu paremmalta kuumana mut tuntuma ja vinkuminen on outoja :/ tuntuu vähän siltä ku liikaa sitruunaa syö ja hampaat vinkuu toisiaan vastaan.

salmiakki - anteeks, syön sen jos on syötävä mut en tykkää.

terva - ei. miksi.

erikoista mainitusta kotipizzalle - kummalista mut hyvää! mun pizzalla oli vain sieniä ja kastiketta ja söin sen veitsellä ja haarukalla.

I found a 22 year old Finnish joke book, like stupid jokes I'm guessing, one liners.

And they're difficult (for me).

Here's an example:

Q: Miksi turkulaiset eivät juo piimää?

A: Koska piimäpurkissa lukee: Ravistettava oms kakas.

Okay so, this is something like:

Q: Why don't people from Turku drink piimä?

A: Because the jar reads... uh, what now?

I think, this must be a joke playing on two things: the Turku dialect, and something on piimä packaging?

I'm about to post this when I have an idea! Oh my god, Omskakas is SWEDISH for shaken!

So, so, is oms supposed to be like oma? And kakas like poo? (Is kaka poo? Google doesn't think so but...) So, maybe, like shake your own poo?

Is that it? Is it? I've been puzzling over this stupid joke for two days. I have no idea. And anyway, WHY TURKU?

So many questions, and still another 399 jokes to go...

(If you're reading this and you're not Finnish, you might wonder what piimä is. Google blandly translates it as buttermilk, but most piimä has extra, added bacteria that much of the world decided against persisting with, but Finland kept on it.)

I translated it, put it on google, was totally confused by which one is the correct but was left thinking buttermilk is the right translation.

BUT yes i just found out Valio itself calls it sour milk so yeah u right thanks, i'll change it ✌🏻
