It's hump day people! So that means it's time to find out what everyone is working on! 😎 As for your girl Nerdie, I have a few things in the works: two Dieter fics, two Marcus Pike fics, and Dave/Santi.

@iamasaddie Popped out a dark Valentine's Day prompt and past Nerdie said sure! Thus we're going to have a different version of Marcus Pike. (Not “Daddy” I made a slight edit to the prompt). He might be a bit manipulative, but it's for your benefit. Not odd at all. It's still in bullet points and some of them may change I gave @ramblers-lets-get-ramblin a preview so have to ask her if it makes any sense. 😄 (The above gif is how I picture this Marcus. Like he looks so sweet, but sir, SIR! But also we're okay with it, maybe.)

@magpiepills gave me an excellent idea for meeting Marcus Pike at a motel based off a Tag game we did a week or two ago. I've thought of three parts for the thing. I just gotta write it. That will be the Marcus fluff we know and love. 💕

@angelofsmalldeath-codeine Sweetly asked if there was an update on my chapter Dieter series "Weddings 101 with Dieter." I am working on chapter 4, I just have to work out the details. The devil is there and he is mocking me. 😈 The Horny Delegation's High Chancellor has high expectations. Maybe I should have written it a little worse. 🤗

Dave/Santi have their bullet points mostly. I did start on them. Maybe February @for-a-longlongtime It needs a lot more meat, lube, cargo pants and zip ties. There may be a preview of that next week along with some Santiago smut. The Santi x reader smut will be @rhoorl (she started it with her ask) and @legendary-pink-dot fault who sent me one journalist's investigative piece on Oscar's Dune beard. 🤣 I also blame Pinterest. You search “Oscar Isaac beard” one time. Sheesh. 😒

I finished my addition to the PMAMC 2024 challenge organized by the talented @wannab-urs and, well, it's done and out there. 👀 Read the other ones and come back to mine, if you think about it. This week is everyone is posting so there will be a masterlist up later with everyone who participated.

I'll end with a small preview of my Dieter Brovo one-shot:

God he needs to feel you, the pocket pussy he has is alright but he needs your full weight on him. You mewling at him, giving him silent direction as he tries to make you vocalize more. Dieter’s aware he’s often loud enough for the both of you and he finds that hearing the few moans that you will give him, fill him with a sense of accomplishment. He remembered that you’d told him that it was difficult to climax sometimes and actually you’ve reached your peak so much more often with him than other partners, because he cared to find out where your spots are, what makes you feel good. Your hushed noises weren’t an indication that he wasn’t doing well, you just weren't used to making sounds during sex. Since the two of you met at a club where you had misplaced your shoes and Dieter let you borrow his crocs, you’d been seeing each other when you could. It was one of the few stable relationships Dieter had outside of his business team.

The BBC’s 13th Annual Celebration of Audio Drama

2023 marked the centenary year for audio/radio drama at the BBC. For 100 years of this unique genre, audio drama and comedy have provided enjoyment, diversion, illumination, insight and escape for listeners, evolving in approach and style as audio practitioners have responded to new ideas and technology with ingenuity, imagination and inspiration. These awards celebrate the creativity of actors, writers, directors, producers, musicians, sound designers and all who work in this vibrant art-form.

The winners will be announced on Sunday 24 March 2024 in a ceremony in the Radio Theatre at BBC Broadcasting House London. The winners of the Imison and Tinniswood Awards (judged and administered by the Society of Authors and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain) will also be announced at this ceremony.

Cette année, la fusée Rémi Bonnet a proposé au monde entier 3 voyages dans l’espace :

1) Neirivue Moleson : 10,6 kilomètres / 1290 mètres de dénivelé positif. 54 minutes et 41 secondes, 5’26’’ au kilo de moyenne, record de l’épreuve battu de 1’27’’, les deux derniers kilomètres à 1821 m/h de vitesse ascensionnelle. Cote : 970, plus gros score de tous les temps. La légende raconte qu’il a touché le sol deux fois dont une fois pour monter sur le podium.

2) Marathon du Mont-Blanc : 42 kilomètres / 2540 mètres de dénivelé positif. 3h35, 12km/h de moyenne. Rémi avait tellement d’avance sur le deuxième qu’il a eu le temps d’écrire une thèse de 100000 pages pour répondre à la question « y a-t-il de la vie ailleurs dans l’univers ? ». La réponse était oui.

3) Pikes Peak Marathon : 21 kilomètres / 2382 mètres de dénivelé positif, arrivée à 4302 mètres d’altitude. 2 heures et 20 secondes, plus de 10km/h pour un semi-marathon avec 11% de pente et 2382 mètres de dénivelé positif. Ce jour-là, on a décidé de mettre « exemple : Rémi Bonnet à Pikes Peak » à côté du mot « extraterrestre » dans le dico. 

On ne sait pas ce que Rémi Bonnet nous réserve comme dinguerie pour 2024. Sûrement un Sierre-Zinal de toute beauté. Une chose est sûre : ne l’encouragez pas sans porter une doudoune, vous pourriez prendre froid.

Bates Hunter Gold Mine and History Extending to the Colorado Gold Rush

With the history of Colorado gold mining extending to the mid-19th century, GS Mining Company has assembled an extensive portfolio of mine holdings spanning the Central City/Black Hawk region. In 2024, 85 percent of the gold under Central City remains undiscovered. The Bates Hunter Mine revival centers on sustainably exploiting assets in a mine first operated in 1859.

After teaser discoveries in 1858, George Jackson found a significant placer deposit in Chicago Creek, near Idaho Springs, in January 1859. The discovery of gold near Black Hawk by John Gregory quickly followed it. Then, tens of thousands of miners rapidly entered the Denver region, and this influx led to Colorado becoming a US territory in 1861. The Pikes Peak Gold Rush focused on the easternmost of the state’s Fourteeners, mountains extending above 14,000 feet in the Rockies - the signpost that wagon trains of immigrants first saw on the horizon as they approached the mountainous west after months of crossing the Great Plains.

However, the major riches promised never materialized in 1859, and by mid-May, the gold rush had turned into a tale of “go backers,” with a cycle of boom and bust occurring in just a few months. Of 100,000 gold seekers who set out for Colorado in early 1859, only 40,000 reached Denver, and by August, only 10,000 miners remained in the region. An estimated 2,000 miners reached Denver, with the remainder engaged in lode gold mining operations deep in the mountains. As late as September, some hoped for a significant find, with 2,000 miners surveyed in a key gulch region spanning six square miles along the Clear Creek’s North Fork and Central City. By the time winter hit, most of these miners left, and major commercial operations did not commence again until the 1890s.

The Bates Vein, within the Gregory Lode, was part of John Gregory’s initial 1859 discovery in Central City. Neglected for decades, it witnessed a late 19th-century revival. By the turn of the 20th century, it became part of a region populated by small mining operations, which National Geographic called “the richest square mile on earth.” The Bates-Hunter Mine closed in 1936, and the point the shaft reached a depth of approximately 800 feet.

In 1987, the Central City Consolidated Mining Company attempted to reopen the mine, followed by a mid-2000s Wits Basin Precious Minerals, Inc. venture. Neither project made much headway. Then, the emergence of GS Mining Company, LLC acquired the property and started extracting significant gold by 2020.

Bates Hunter Gold Mine spans a series of proven gold veins with potential gold recovery estimated between one to 3 million ounces. The existing infrastructure, including an elevator system servicing the entirety of the 800-foot main shaft, would require around $40 million to construct, adjusted for inflation. With an EPA water purification system in place, the Bates Hunter connects to the Becker Bates Mines at around 500 feet. In the area of connection, the highest gold readings (several ounces per ton) have been recorded. Characterized as one of the richest gold-bearing veins in the region, the current operation can potentially deliver significant returns on investment.
