Things were soooo much easier when I could just hate his obnoxious ass.

I've only recently finished the quest, so I haven't really formulated a full opinion, but yeesh, Aventurine was definitely the highlight of that for me. And I say this as someone who spent all of 2.0 trying to telepathetically set him on fire.

He still annoys me (as you can tell from the bingo choices) but now that I've gained a new appreciation for him after seeing things from his prespective, it's more of the fondly annoying sort. And also the sort that makes me wanna give him many pats and roll him into a warm blanket and take him far, far away from the IPC. I won't spoil anything, but yeah. Yeah. He's a certified poor little guy now.

Would love to see more of Aven in the future, honestly- love him or hate him (or both, which is me rn), he's still a treat to have on screen!

i would like to imagine that after machete dies, vasco starts collecting red things. red, like the soles of machetes shoes and the hems of his cassocks, the front of his nightgowns after a heavy nosebleed. or maybe he collects pink things, like machete's nose and ears and paw pads, or things white like his fur. he never collects anything black, however. red like the hems but never black like the fabric. black is too sad. it's grief, it's unfathomable loss and it means admitting machete is actually gone, stolen from the world. but ludovica is there, and she indulges his collections in little ways on the occasion. it's a small comfort, her love for her husband in their lavender way.

I think we should put these two on a team and call it "ice ice baby".

Look at my little dudes!!!

1) Misha is a recent favorite of mine, even though I had my eye on him since he first showed up in leaks. He's just a sweet little nerd doing his best and chilling around.... well, and also having a crapton of foreboding story implications, but shhhhhhhh don't worry about it!

His character stories and animations are insanely adorable also. I love this little guy and I wish him much happiness and peace (and also maybe a visit to the Express at one point)!

2) Yanqing!! My beloved idiot who I've been missing since he stopped showing up every patch!!

I'll admit I didn't care much for Yanqing before the game's release.... but then I got him as my first 5 star on day 1, and he immediately stapled himself to the fave list! This dork and his funny flying swords carried me for a solid 2 patches, and are still chipping in every now and then when refrigeration is required!

Gameplay aside... I'm honestly really sad about how his character is handled most of the time. There are highlights like the end of his companion mission and his segment in Foxian Tale of The Haunted, but otherwise, Yanqing is there for the sake of being there, or he's there and acting unusually out of character to prop up someone else. It's really annoying, honestly. Messes up what would otherwise be very great scenes for Yanqing and everyone else involved. I'm glad they're starting to depart from that (see once again: Foxian Tale. God, I loved his part in it so much).
