Okay so looks, sounds and abilities all come behind personalities for piper, she really does not care for that

If anything, she is delighted to learn sign language for you

And it helps with her insecurities, because there is this inkling of fear that maybe, just maybe, she unconsciously uses charmspeak all the time to get her way.

In a way, communicating with you makes her lose her voice, willingly, she loves the silence you bring to her and she indulges in it.

Piper starts using sign language more and more, and when she sees you struggle with communicating with the campers she makes it her goal to teach the whole camp.

This works out verily well, Piper is apparently an excellent teacher to have.

Sometimes, Piper likes to take you to a place secluded for a little picnic, and will sing for your deaf ears. She loves when you put your hand on her throat and feel the vibrations of her voice. It is as close as you come to hearing you, and it makes her feel closer to you.

You two would mostly do walks or hikes around Camp, given that outside of camp is more dangerous and other environments are harder to manage with your disabilities, although you can manage yourself just fine.

If you move with her to her dads house, beach dates are a must. She loves trying to teach you how to surf, and together you two grow a shell collection. Not all shells are pretty, but if they come from you Piper will keep them forever.

“I thought you told me you stopped this, Piper?” you whisper worriedly, examining her surprisingly soft hands in your own, ignoring the heat that ran to your face. She had a horrible habit of picking and biting at her nails whenever she got stressed or nervous. You’ve tried nearly everything to help her stop before she bit away the nail completely, but nothing stuck.

She sighed heavily, cutting her ever-changing eyes at you. You couldn’t tell what she was thinking, as per usual, but that didn’t stop you from clutching her hand in your own.

She smiled softly and moved to brush a stray hair from your eyes, “Don’t worry, I’m working on it!” With one swift glance at your intertwined hands beneath the lunch table, she continued to shovel food into her mouth.

You wish you had pressed her more about it after that, you really should’ve. But the warmth her hand gave, her slim fingers slowly falling between your own and resting there comfortably until the bell rang. The feeling was so intoxicating that you didn’t push the subject, choosing to just bask at the moment at present.

You moved slowly, trying not to jerk her around or move too abruptly and drop her hand. She’d been adamant about holding onto you. She always joked it was because you’d get lost otherwise and she didn’t know how you’d survive on your own, but you kinda figured out that that wasn’t entirely true.

She wouldn’t admit it, but you knew she had abandonment anxiety. As much as she loves her dad, she was desperate for his attention, and she would do anything to get it. Though it seemed everything she did, every outrageous stunt she had pulled hadn’t done the trick. Mr. McLean was always too busy to deal with her.

From here you could see the wrinkle in her brow, way too in her head to notice what she was missing at the moment. You could hear every lyric her earbuds spat out, once again way too loud to be safe. You shook your head and stared at your hands, thumb smoothing over the small heart tattoo on her index finger. 

She swore she didn’t care what Ed tatted on her, but when she saw the shitty outline of a heart, the sigh of disappointment she let out was enough to show that she regretted it. It was cute if you squinted at a distance, but she’d never believe you.

Of all the places you could’ve had your first kiss, you never thought you’d be kissed on the slide at the elementary school playground. But honestly? You can’t imagine it anywhere else

She met you at the end of the slide, watching you slide down the bright yellow plastic with a huge grin plastered on her face. You thought it was an accident at first, assuming she was leaning down to help you up and maybe lost her balance, but she pushed you back instead.

Her choppy brown hair hung freely around her face and the sunset’s golden hues washed over her features, making her skin almost shimmery. Her eyes resembled kaleidoscopes and her lips were pretty and full. You could never forget the feeling of overwhelming love that washed over you that day, at that moment.

And when she closed the gap, locking her lips with yours, you froze. You were so captured by everything that is Piper McLean. From the tickle of her hair across your cheek, her nose brushing against your own as you kissed, and the sweet citrus scent that lingered around her.

In that moment, pressed against the burning plastic of an elementary slide, you knew that Piper had captured your very being. And you weren’t going to fight back.

You watched her carefully as she placed to bandaid over your knee and smoothed out any creases. She looked up with a grin and moved to peck your forehead gently, calling you clumsy and helping you up off the concrete. The skateboard you’d fallen off of rolled off to the side, almost forgotten the moment you hit a rock and fell off.

It was embarrassing. You just wanted to show her how hard you’d been practicing and you managed to find the only rock at the skate park and eat shit. You scratched the back of your head, fiddling with the strands that were now shorter than before. 

Piper let out an amused hum and moved a hand to your hair and brushing it softly so she wouldn’t mess it up, “I like this,” she mumbled, trailing her lips up to your ear and kissing the corner of your cheekbone lightly, “it makes you look more grown-up.”

You inhaled sharply, too sharply. You choked suddenly, eliciting a hearty laugh from the girl in front of you. You playfully glared as you collected yourself, clearing your throat and moving away to collect your board.

“Jeez, i’m a whole ass clown today.”

“Just today?”

You groan and she chuckles, wrapping her arms around you from behind, resting her head on your shoulder.

“Why don’t you try it again?”

You shook your head, “No I’m gonna fall again and then you’ll just laugh at me again!”

She gave you a firm squeeze, “Promise that I won’t. C’mon, I’ll be cheering you on the whole time!”

Nobody would think it with how much trouble she puts herself in, but she’s actually very thoughtful. You could spend hours on end listening to her plan out the future, trying to push away the butterflies that appear each time she mentioned you as apart of it.

She had everything planned out in this perfect little scenario and it was so sweet... and a little sad. She spoke about how she would convince her dad to leave the fame behind so they could do things like they used to. She wanted you to meet him and have him tease you about your relationship with her. 

“Like a normal dad, y’know?”

You’d hum and scooch over to snuggle into her side, wrapping an arm around her middle and burying your face in her neck. Her sweet scent filled your nose, intoxicating you and coaxing you into a peaceful sleep.

“You’ll see, Y/n. It’s all gonna work out.” 

“Say that I happen to make you cry

You didn’t argue often, but when you did it was never easy. Piper has always been a really sweet girl, but she has a tendency to lash out when cornered, you knew that all too well. You tried leaving her alone to calm down but then she brought up the one thing you never expected to hear.

You turned with an icy glare, “Did you just...?”

Piper’s expression faded into a one of shock, not believing the words that came out her mouth. She stuttered, reaching out for you and flinching when you brush her off.

“Y/n I’m sorry--”

“That was really uncalled for, that’s not okay.”

A tear fell from her eyes, “I shouldn’t have said that, I wasn’t thinking. Please don’t walk away!”

You huffed and glared down at the floor, trying to stop your hands from shaking, “You never think, Piper. Whenever you get angry you just say whatever you’re thinking!” 

“Y/n I--”

You gave her one more glare before turning on your heel and marching away, ignoring the ache in your heart when you heard her breakdown behind you.

You stared across the street, frozen in place as if you’d seen a ghost. Your eyes welled with tears, watching the girl who never left your thoughts carry on as if you never existed. She looked nearly the same, hair still choppy and braided, that mischievous glint in her kaleidoscope eyes. She looked happier.

Beside her stood two boys, one stood taller with short blonde hair and furrowed brows, the other stood shorter with a mess of curly black hair and an impish smirk on his face. By the looks of it, they were waiting for the bus to arrive, Piper and the shorter boy sharing stories and jokes while the taller one sat deep in his thoughts.

You sniffled, your heart racing and aching and you tried so hard to ignore it all. You urged your feet to move forward, begging your legs to take over and continue walking home. But you were stuck.

Funny how you were the first to walk away when you had her and now, now you were stuck in place; longing for the girl who sat a street length away.

The blonde boy looked up suddenly, tensing as he probably felt your heavy stare. He stared back with a stony look, tilting his head in confusion when you didn’t react. 

It was only when he brought it to the attention of Piper and her friend that your body began moving again. You shuffled down the street at an awkward pace, never looking back despite the gaze on your back.

Piper McLean may never see you again, but you sure do hope she thinks of you. A least a little bit.

001 – “You’ll be safe as long as you’re with me”

You glance down at Piper who was slumped against the side of a convenience store, her usual colorful eyes growing dim with each laboured breath she took. She was exhausted and running on energy from berries and saltine crackers, she couldn’t keep fighting anymore. She took a blow to the arm, causing her dagger to go skittering across the parking lot.  The gorgons took that as a chance to strike Piper in the face, sealing her fate right there.

If you hadn’t of shown up that is.

Your heart lurched in fear, seeing the blood seep from her wounds sent you into autopilot. Before you could even comprehend that you were moving, you had already fatally struck one gorgon, blinking thorough the golden dust and dodging another attack from one of the others. You could see Piper struggling to stand up, blindly searching for her dagger so she could help you. If she tried to help, she would only make things harder.

You kick the gorgon back, distancing the fight from the struggling girl on the ground. Your body knew exactly what to do, but you knew that if you let your focus slip for one second, you could be joining Piper on the ground shortly. You made a quick job of ridding the parking lot of any mythical monsters, tending to Piper and leaning her against the wall where she could rest.

Her tired figure nibbled on a few pistachio nuts, sipping water every now and then. Chiron had warned you not to follow her, assuring you that it wouldn’t take her more than four days to return. Even so, you had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right. She wasn’t far off from camp, she had almost made it back successfully. But your guess was that she wasn’t able to find a place to rest up, maybe monsters had been on her trail the entire time?

Whatever it may be, you swear that she’ll never leave camp without someone with her again. Even if you had to sneakily tag along.

She loves loves loves going on hikes or walks with you. Finding old playgrounds or cool monuments makes her feel like she’s adventuring with you. 

Beauty - What do the admirer s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

You’re so considerate of everyone around you, even if you aren’t aware of it. She thinks it’s incredibly beautiful how kind you are to everyone, but knows that she’ll have to keep an eye out for people who try to take advantage of that.

Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Piper is the type to sit with you quietly when you’re having a down day. She might bring you some snacks and cuddle with you, but understands that some days are just like this. She’s similar with attacks, but usually tries to distract you with your surroundings like “Pick out 5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, 3 things you can smell…” and so on.

Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

Piper wants to travel the world with you, trying new things and having new experiences with you. She fully plans to spend the rest of her life adventuring with you and if you have siblings that have kids, she plans on being the cool auntie that brings trinkets back.

Equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

It’s fairly equal, but she likes to mess around a lot. If she walks in on you changing, she’ll tease the shit out of you for it and make the embarrassment last a whole day.

Fight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

Piper can be petty ngl, if she gets angry she might make it obvious. Kinda how kids do things to show their parents they’re angry like angrily sweeping while glaring or something. But she’ll get pouty if you laugh at her antics and the issue will be resolved soon after.

Gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

She has this cute habit of saying thank you when you do the smallest things. You could give her a glass of water and she’ll go “:3 thank youuuu”. There is almost never a moment where you feel underappreciated for anything you do.

Honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

There isn’t a lot that she doesn’t share, but just like in The Lost Hero, if there is something huge bothering her or if there is a potential threat, she will struggle alone. It kills her to hide something from you, but when it comes to light, she nearly breaks down in tears as she gushes out everything she withheld.

Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helping them overcome personal problems?

She’s still working on bits of herself, but it's not drastic changes. She may have a tendency to fall back on her bad habits, but when you scold her for it, she makes a mental note to do better.

Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Piper hates to admit it, but she gets jealous just like everyone else. It was more prominent when you two weren’t dating, but it still happens even as you begin dating. It isn’t major, but you’ll know when she feels as if someone is catching your attention or vice versa. 

Kiss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

it’s unfair, but being a daughter of Aphrodite makes her good at all forms of love and affection. Her kisses are absolutely intoxicating and you feel drunk after each one. Even a short peck has you in a daze.

Love Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

You two were up late because Leo wanted to show Piper his new invention and you were already on your way to visit him to make sure he wasn’t forgetting to care for himself again. The late hour impaired your decision making abilities and you just… went for it. So you two ended up kissing in Bunker 9 as Leo dozed off on his work bench. Luckily he never found out.

M = Memory (What’s their favourite memory together?)

You both got the chance to hide in the lot of a drive in theater that was playing the movie UP. The monster never found you, and you got to cuddle up with Piper as you both cried in the first 5 minutes of the movie.

Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?

Piper calls you by nickname usually, but will use cute pet names like lovey or baby when it’s the two of you and no one else is around.

On Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

Piper is constantly hitting on you, even after you started dating so when the lines get bolder… it can be embarrassing. Everyone tries to ignore you two now, but sometimes the free entertainment is funny as hell.

PDA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

Corny pick up lines are a regular occurrence, but Piper also really likes keeping you beside her. She’s not clingy enough to not let you do your own thing, but she enjoys keeping and hand or arm on your shoulder at all times. Even if it’s just throwing a leg over your lap as she sits down on the couch.

Quirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

She brings a spark to the relationship, something that keeps it feeling like you never left the honeymoon phase. She often spoke about hating being Aphrodites daughter, but it was beneficial in her relationships. The spark would have been there without her godly parent, but it sure gives emphasis.

Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

Despite being the daughter of love itself, she is terrible at planning out romantic things. However, she seems to make the trashiest moments slightly romantic. You two could be on a quest together and sleeping in the back of a truck full of rotten veggies and she’ll make you feel like you’re in a truck full of… fresh veggies.

Support - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

One of your biggest cheerleaders. She’ll drag Leo along as well just to be the loudest at your events, be it by voice or by holding up signs with your name in big glittery letters.

Thrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice up your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

She’s had quite enough of thrills at a young age, but she won’t mind traveling and trying new foods. She’ll find out she’s allergic to some obscure spice and the humorous panic she spouted on the way to the ER was enough for you to want to strangle her yourself.

Piper is very empathetic. It’s often scary how much she can understand your feelings even if you aren’t exactly open about them. She’ll pick up on your mood and somehow pick apart what caused it and if she can, she’ll fix it as best as she can.

Once Piper sees you as family, she’s ready to risk it all for you. If she has to walk the earth just to find you and ensure you’re safe, she would in a heartbeat. 

Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

Her hair had gotten too long one summer and  she had given you permission to grab a pair of scissors and go nuts. She never really cared about how her hair looked anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt for you to do it. Her only request was that you wouldn’t make it look nice. Her hair would look great anyway so you cut randomly, feeling like Piper was your personal Barbie doll and you were an odd child, cutting away the hair of the doll.

SHe likes touching you, be it an arm or holding your hand, maybe even kissing your temple when you’re around people. She’s not a cuddle bug entirely, but she does welcome those moments when you just flop down on her, groaning as she wraps her arms and legs around you  tightly, “Hah! Now you’re trapped!”

Yearning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

Absolutely whines to you before you leave, but once you do she acts like she’s not all too affected. “Like yeah I miss them but I’m not gonna cry about it.” What a lie.

She’s willing to start a war with every god if you were in question, now she wouldn’t want to come down to that, but she’s willing to fight for you.

Halloween Cuddles (Annabeth xPiper xGN!Reader)

Request: Could you do Annabeth x Piper x gn!Reader, where the whole gang went trick-or-treating or something and eventually the others went home and the three of them end up having a horror movie marathon at Annabeth’s house? Y/n was going to go home afterwards but took one step outside and,,, scary. Decided to stay the night, much cuddling ensues?🥰

“Are you sure you guys don’t want to stay?” Annabeth leaned on her doorstep, watching as her friends organized to either get a ride or waiting to be picked.

“We’re gonna stay up all night watching horror movies,” Piper said, leaning on the opposite side of the frame.

“Nah, I’m fine,” Said Leo.

“Yeah, gotta study for some tests tomorrow too,” Jason replied, climbing onto    Leo’s motorcycle.

“What about you, Y/N?” Annabeth nudged their side as Y/N walked back into the living room.

“I think I’ll have to call it a day, girl,” Y/N sighed.

However, Y/N did stay longer, chatting with Piper while Annabeth made sure everyone got into their rides safe and sound. Suddenly it was 10 pm, and Y/N had to hurry, they said hurried goodbyes and rushed to the entrance. Once outside a chill ran up their spine.

The place was deserted, only the soft sound of branches hitting against each other and some crickets coming from everywhere. The lights were dim and soft against the gravel, distant cars could be heard too, and even laughter coming from the houses. I would’ve been a warm, cosy ambience, hadn’t been for the Halloween decorations adorning every corner of the street.

Y/N gulped, clinging to their backpack and backtracking all the way up to Annabeth’s house. They knocked on the door several times before a very confused Annabeth opened it.

“What happened?” She eyed them up and down looking for any sort of injury. “Are you okay?”

“Change of plans!” Y/N squeaked. “I’m staying!”

“You are?” Annabeth smiled softly. “Why?”

“Y/N chickened out, didn’t you hear the knocks! Dude’s terrified!” Piper yelled from the living room.

“I am not!” Y/N defended, stepping into the house and hanging their backpack next to the entrance.

“Don’t worry, the ghosts can’t get you here,” Annabeth teased, leading them back to the living room.

“Shut up, Chase,” Y/N pouted, sitting down next to Piper. “What are we watching, then?”

“Nightmare on Elm’s street.”

“Tacky.”

“Hey! You dare to stay and judge my movie choices?” Piper scoffed.

“Don’t tell me you like it,” Y/N argued.

“Hey, we’re not here to judge horror movies,” Annabeth interrupted. “We’re here to get spooked… no matter how shitty the movies are.”

Forty minutes into the movie the three of them were a tangled mess of legs and arms, Y/N was hugging Piper, Annabeth was cuddling Y/N, and Piper was playing with Annabeth’s hands. It was cosy and warm, then Y/N’s stomach made a loud noise and they blushed.

“Should I get you something to eat?” Annabeth smirked, looking down at them.

“I… hmm,” They cleared their throat. “I mean, I could help you get it.”

“No need!” Annabeth disentangled from the hug -not without a few complaints from both, Piper and Y/N- and vanish into the kitchen.

Piper looked up to them and poked their nose.

“You look cute from this angle.”

“Thank you,” Y/N grinned. “The view is great from here as well.”

Piper winked at them,  Annabeth walked into the living room ten minutes later balancing three cups of hot chocolate on her hands. Piper and Y/N helped her out, settling everything on the coffee table.

“Enjoy!” She said proudly, kissing Y/N’s forehead.

“You’re so nice to us, honest,” Y/N grabbed their mug and took a sip of their chocolate. “I could get used to this spoiling…”

“Oh, I love spoiling people,” Piper grinned. “Tell me what you want, I can get it.”

“Really?” Y/N raised a brow.

“Don’t, she’ll get it for real,” Annabeth warned them.
