First of all, thank you for making a visit here <3 we really appreciate it!

I’m the new owner of the AU “Pj’s Daycare”! Nice to meet you!

I always loved the idea of the universe (parents turning into kids, kids turning into adults and taking care of them 😭💖) and the designs too!

The original comic was discontinued so I plan on making right from the start! I’ll be rebooting some stuff like the age, personality, surnames etc.

I hope I’ll be able to turn this AU into a better one! (If I do anything wrong, please inform me personally since I can be quite distracted in excitement sometimes 😓 I’m sorry)

Research

So...I was doing some research because I wanted more of the PJ’s Daycare comics dubbed by Ania and made by BlogTheGreatRouge (because, cute anime babies spark joy in my soul and Ania’s voice acting was fun to listen to). And, I was like, huh??? The original artist deleted all their content. D: I was confused as to why but then I saw a few Youtube videos this afternoon after work that explained everything. Boy...that was a shock. 

Apparently, some of the content in the comics Rouge drew was problematic in various ways. Looking at a video that analysed the comics, it was easier to see what parts were causing issues. It’s kind of embarrassing that I didn’t realise those things straight away on my own. I took them as jokes or not seriously, mainly due to it being fiction. But, since I’m an adult, I know what’s not right and what is. Yet it was told that the artist of that cute anime art style (it really is a super nice art style) had a lot of followers that were minors and the things she drew were influencing them incorrectly and in negative ways. 

So, that’s definitely not a good thing. :( I don’t hate the artist for drawing those things, though I do feel it’s unfortunate they did so. If they happen to learn from their mistakes and correct their misguided thinking, then it would be nice to see a reboot of the daycare series, without any of the bad stuff in it. I love Rouge’s art style so much. Cuteness overload to the max!!! :D All of the characters look so nice in her style, though. 

Either way, I decided to just take the good parts from the comics that I loved, and leave out the bad stuff that shouldn’t have been in there. So that way, when I write fanfiction or my own interpretations of AUs of other people’s AUs (lol), they won’t have the kind of problematic content that caused people to be upset. Why not take something flawed and make a better version of it, right? :3 

For instance, I DO ship FreshPaper muchly. It’s a good ship and I love how colourful it is. However, in my version, the two skeleton monsters are both consenting young adults or similar in age, etc. Though there may be slight age gaps, it wouldn’t be anything unacceptable. Some people say that age doesn’t matter, but I’d never portray like, minors with adults. Please, don’t be doing that. That is not a good thing to do.

So, with talking about wanting to write such fanfiction or even get art commissions of those creations, I just wanted to say I will be as careful as I can to not make the same kinds of judgement errors as Rouge did in her older works. 

I enjoy the various scenes I’ve imagined and I hope I can write some stories and commission some art that others will also enjoy. I’ll just have to create the works first and then see what people’s reactions and feedback are.

Neal/Alexandra (Shoe White)- I mean the son of Snow White and the daughter of Cinderella. It just would have worked out SO well. They’d be the happy little perfect little hopeful prince and princess couple that Snowing was. Snowing ADORE Alex and Ella1 & Thomas love Neal to death, he’s a chemistry teacher, she now runs the daycare... they’d be adorable af

Roland/Hope (Dimpled Cygnet aka my next gen OTP) - Dude... Okay. So- we have one poor thief who grew up in the forest. He’s lost his father, he lost his mother, his sister’s mother killed his mom, his father’s soulmate is the overall reason he’s dead... He’d have SO many issues. Then in comes Hope. The perfect slightly spoiled blonde princess with perfect nuclear family, perfect grandparents, no family drama... Opposites would 1000% attract. They’d be the new OQ (kinda stuck up royal meets a forest smelling thief) and they would have been perfect. Hook & David would SO not approve, Emma & Snow would find it adorable.

Gideon/?- He’d have to be with a new character but I can see him with someone who’s kinda a bad girl. He was a dork, he was intelligent, he went to elf school... he’d fall for someone who laughs at his lame jokes but who’s willing to listen when he talks about how scared he gets that he’s turning into his father or grandfather OR grandmother.

Phillip Jr/Drizella (Step Prince)- IDK why but I see him as like this pompous sorta jackoff type stuffy prince. Whereas Neal is the David of princes, PJ would be the James. I can see him wanting Hope though and dating her but, obviously, she would choose Roland instead. But Drizella is just as snarky and stuck up and kinda bitchy as he is. There’d be lots of arguments and hot angry wall sex.

Robyn/Alice (Curious Archer)- I love them but I would have made it so we didn’t see WH try to assault Emma so that CS fans would accept her more. Like make WHook die while defending her or something, just SOMETHING so she isn’t so hated. Or hell, make her Hopes sister. I believe she was supposed to be Hope if JMo had stayed anyway so why not make her Hopes full blooded sister? And Hope can be kinda jealous that Alice was the one with all the guardian magic and all the pure love (kinda mirroring the Zelena/Regina relationship a bit except Hope doesn’t turn green and try to kill everyone)

Henry/Ella (Glass Believer)- I... didn’t love them. I think it had to do with the actresses who played Ella and Lucy, like they couldn’t act for shit. I think if they had another actress it would have been adorable but I mean Henry is basically the leader of NG so I kinda have to include him lol

Falling Into A Different Destiny - What Is To Come

I wanted to tell you about some other stories I am working on for this book. I have been getting requests or suggestions for stories, and while I love that, I wanted to let you all know what I have working on or a idea for so you're not all suggesting the same thing over and over again. If you have suggestions for the stories themselves, I am happy to hear them. I also am happy to hear other places Error can land in as well. I can't promise I can make them or use the idea/suggestion, but I always enjoy hearing them. Keep in mind I am also working on other parts of stories I have up as well, like I have part two of Cops, Robbers, Strippers and Error on the works, but because the story is already up and running, I will not put that up on the list I have made.

I like how the newest version of Daycare PJ (and by extension the series as a whole) is all nice and wholesome, and then there's mine. He's just the living embodiment of "Breaking the Habit" by Linkin Park with a resting bitch face to match.

I know that song by heart, don't test me lol. I grew up with Linkin Park. Anyways... what habit is my Daycare PJ breaking? Alcoholism. Yup. I wonder what would happen if those two met. It'd be interesting, I bet. Oh also I decided to play around with his paint stylings a little bit. Because I realized in my original drawings for him, I forgot my signature for all the Paperjams I create! Whatever the fuck that is at the front side of their heads.

I plan on doing more with him, because I wanna see him find peace.

Back at it again with more PJ's Daycare shit! WOOOO! This time with more of a focus on PJ and... Hudson~

OKAY. So. First image here... more focused on PJ. With Hudson's very early concept design. I threw in some of the other daycare employees (Melon and Cali) as little cameos, and I even did a scene of them reenacting that one funny video of the kid because I was watching a meme comp. and I thought it would be funny. Plus, let's be honest... PJ's new addiction to coffee definitely has... side effects.

Yes, I believe PJ has an "addictive personality". Which basically means it's really easy for him to get addicted to things. Well, hey... at least coffee is better than alcohol.

Plus, PJ's sudden bisexual awakening!

Second image, more focused on Hudson and PJ. I tweaked his design a bit, but I still wasn't quite happy with it. You'll see that later. But here I established these things: - PJ has a son with his previous partner, Omni. Unfortunately, shit happened, Omni was fed up, and they got a divorce. His son's name is Monochrome, and due to current circumstances, PJ cannot see him until he is cleared by the program he is in. In order to get a sense of how PJ might feel about this, I would listen to "My Little Love" by Adele. - Both Hudson and PJ are tall. But Hudson is only slightly taller than PJ. - Hudson has a daughter named Elaine, and he drops her off at the daycare PJ is assigned to do community service in. Hudson probably works a very demanding day job, hence the nachos. I'm thinking this day job is something within the medical field. - Hudson having a daughter means he also has a previous partner. His previous partner, in Hudson's words: "He was very controlling. Had to have everything a certain way, including me." They got a divorce two years ago. - Hudson's daughter is biological to both him and his ex. This is because Seedling (his species) anatomy is VASTLY different compared to other species, making this possible. I would delve into it, but that's a bit NSFW for this post. - PJ is head over heels for Hudson. But due to past and current trauma, he is having trouble letting Hudson inside. I mean that he's afraid to let Hudson in on his... whole world, so to speak. - PJ probably has a fear of abandonment, as well as issues with intimacy. (Again, caused by his past trauma.) - Hudson, on the other hand, is very chill. He goes to therapy and is actively trying to better himself. He also works out. It's part of his self love campaign. - They probably have one night stands a lot, but because PJ is not fully healed, he's afraid to make it something more. Hudson probably wants to be more, but PJ isn't ready/scared to.

Third and final image! Woo! And here we see Hudson's final, official design! Isn't he cute? Yeah...

So I mentioned that he's a Seedling, yeah? Well, to be more specific - he's a type of Seedling called a "Clover Seedling". No duh, right? Now, all Seedlings are characterized by having skin like soil, moss on their bodies in areas, hair like grass, and three to five "tails" or "sprouts" coming from their tail bones. Different Seedling types have different flora growing from their person naturally. Clover Seedlings have clovers, Apple Seedlings have apples, Buttercup Seedlings have buttercups... you get the gist.

Seedlings are a plant based Monster. Meaning... long walks in the rain or Sun are Hudson's cup of tea! Hudson can even make clovers grow around him by touching the earth. Isn't that cool? Also... no. The blue tipped clover on his chest is not a layering mistake. That's because Seedlings have a sprout on their chest that senses the moods of others. When Hudson is around PJ, it's either an intense pink (passion, lust, love) or varying shades of blue (sadness, depression). Sometimes, it will be purple (fear, anxiety, uncertainty).

Anyways... this image basically solidifies that PJ is holding back a lot with Hudson. Almost like he's not allowing himself to be happy.

WOW THAT WAS A LOT OF INFORMATION. But I hope you enjoyed it somewhat. At this point I might as well just start a Rebooted PJ's Daycare comic.

PJ's Daycare [Interpretive Reboot]

WARNING: Mentions of drugs/alcohol. This post has been marked mature. Read at your own discretion.

Hot take warning: I think PJ's Daycare was meant to be a story told by adults, for adults. I know most people see PJ's Daycare as a quirky little AU idea, and that's fine. Got nothing against that. But after the dream I had of this AU where PJ was a recovering alcoholic battling depression and childhood trauma, I can't see it as anything but mature now. Yes... my dreams are really that lush. Most of my story ideas come from dreams... how do you think Student's Echoes came to be? Anyways, hear me out here. And remember that this is just my interpretation of things, you do not need to "follow this canon" so to speak.

My idea for the story of PJ's Daycare is mature. Not mature in the sense that it has a lot of nudity/sex or crude humor, but mature in the sense that it deals with very heavy topics. Such as drug abuse, addiction, rehab, major depressive episodes, loneliness, feeling like you have no direction in life, etc.

Such as PJ here. A few weeks after his 26th, he was arrested for drunk driving after a night at the local bar. He had just started experimenting with heroin, because one of his bar buddies said it would help him drown all those sorrows. We all know that doesn't work. When presented in front of a judge, they sentenced him to community service and rehabilitation. PJ will be provided housing near the police station, with weekly visits from his parole officer. PJ will also be required to go to group therapy as well as personal therapy. And, of course, he will serve his community service - in a local daycare/orphanage.

At first, PJ HATES IT. Not only because he doesn't have access to his "best friend", but also because he has withdrawal headaches that stab his temples. And his group therapy peers are annoying. Aaaand his parole officer is quote, "Too happy." Aaaaaaaand his best bud since high school keeps dropping by to talk about his growing career and pregnant wife. Ugh. Noisy little snot-nosed brats from a daycare don't exactly help with that. Over time, do you think it grows on him? Better hope so. Omni may be his ex wife who never wants to give him anymore chances, but they did have a son together. And Monochrome misses his daddy.

Ramble (cw: general sex talk/implied triggering topics [nothing explicitly mentioned])

I've been thinking about the uh, shall we say, "sexy" parts (quotes because if you know you know) in the OG NaJ AU, the Vampireverse, PJ's Daycare, and the other AUs the artist (that's what I'll refer to her as) has created. AFTER ALL OF THIS IS SAID AND DONE, do not think I'm excusing the actions of the artist. I'm simply making an observation. This is a ramble, so it's just a stream on consciousness put onto a post with no sense of rhythm. Ramble under the cut.

Anyway, a lot of the sex stuff was sort of haphazardly handled, I think we can all agree on that. It was thrown in there without much thought put into how the story and how its characters will handle it. In short what I'm trying to say is... it was very porn coded, if that makes sense. Like, a lot of the subject matter in there could have worked in the story... if it was handled with the proper care it needed. But instead, it more or less felt like someone was drawing out a fantasy someone on Rule 34 might have.

As I said previously, those topics can work in a story. But you just have to have a level of couth when writing them. The artist... didn't have that. Those subjects were portrayed in a way that almost - actually, blatantly, mocked the subject matter and made it seem light and "cute" (gross). Which leads me to why I wanted to ramble about this...

I've been thinking of a way to reboot the Vampireverse, since I haven't seen anybody do that yet. At least, nobody I know of. Anyway, I want to include sex as a part of the story, but it's not going to be triggering. Instead, I want to show the tenderness and vulnerability in sex. This might be my own sappy self talking right now, but I feel like we don't see enough of the "real" side of sex. Everything that I've seen is glamorized (as in, only the hottest and sexiest parts are portrayed), or it's just flat out not realistic. Where's the slight awkwardness in first time sex? Where are the little moments of embarrassment? Kinks? Don't see her. Where is the part where they explore their needs and wants? I don't see it much, so I want to provide that representation.

I made a mental note to not mention anything explicit here, so I'm not going to share my plans for that side of the Vampireverse here. Maybe if I get asked about it, I will. But for now, I'll be vague. Jasper and his new love interest, Lucy, are essentially going to be young and in love. They'll experience all the sweet and tender moments that comes with real love. With the fact that he's a Vampire and she's a Vampire Hunter, because drama! When it comes to sex, I plan on having something that's a little, shall we say... taboo. But in universe it'll make sense.

Whenever I write sex stuff, I try to keep an air of reality to it. Which is why I feel like a lot of the artist's stuff fell flat. It wasn't realistic, and it was just flat out disgusting the way they were handled. In reality, someone would've been put in jail. That's true for most of those AUs, surprisingly.

Rolling back to the taboo thing. I so badly want it to be portrayed as sweet, like a true intimate moment between two people. I guess my goal is this: I want people to see that sex isn't just porn. Because yes, while I won't deny that it is a part of sex (with fantasies and such), I will also say you can't base your whole view of it on unrealistic crutches. I want to show people the true beauty in sex. Because that's what sex is to me. Beautiful.

I'd love to see other's views on this topic. Just to add some food for thought or to start a conversation. Or if you're just curious about my reboot for Vampireverse.
