Team Umizoomi reboot if it was PEAK!

Hey guys! What if Team Umizoomi reboot is totally awesome and not garbage? Featuring my take on Alphonse and Zigzag, which you guys may know is from the TUZ pilot (The Umizumis). If Nick Jr makes a reboot of this show, which I highly doubt they do, then I would be very umi-excited!!! (as long as the reboot doesn't look like Cocomelon). And I hope you guys like this piece of art. This is the first one that I made in ibisPaint.

I've been thinking of ideas for a hypothetical reboot of Ash and Pikachu's journey focusing on the Original Series, and one of them is adding a Johto Trainer to the main cast for the GS chapter with a subplot involving the Pokéathlon from Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver, similar to the Pokémon Contest subplots from the Advanced Generation and Diamond & Pearl series.

I haven't decided on the Trainer yet, but I got three possible candidates for the role.

I know that Ash and Lyra didn't meet until Sinnoh, but as long as I'm including elements from HGSS into the GS chapter, I may as well add her into the mix. Ash has traveled with female player characters who also appear as NPCs if unchosen in Hoenn (May), Sinnoh (Dawn) and Kalos (Serena), so Lyra would be no different other than participating in athletic competitions instead of being stereotyped into Contests or its sexist knockoff.

Lyra does have her own Chikorita, but maybe I can justify both her and Ash having one if one of them fully evolves while the other one doesn't. But then again, there might be a risk of having too many Chikorita users if Casey and Jackson/Vincent stay. If I add her friend Khoury into the mix as a recurring character, then this would also mean more time to properly develop their relationship if I decide to pair them up.

Casey has been compared to Ash in his early days of Pokémon training, albeit with different styles of training and different tastes in Pokémon, so by adding Casey to the main cast, Ash could serve as a mentor to her throughout the GS chapter. And given that she's a fan of a sport as well as her sporty outfit, I don't think she would be out of place in athletic competitions like the Pokéathlon.

Alternatively she could act as a recurring rival not only as a Trainer, but also as a Pokéathlete. Either way, she deserved better in the Original Series so this would be a good way to remedy it. The same applies to the final candidate.

With the Kimono Girls appearing outside the dance theater in HGSS, it only makes sense for Sakura to meet Ash's group earlier in Johto. What inspired the idea of her being a Pokéathlete was the fact that one of the Kimono Girls, Kuni (Sumomo/Komomo), was one of the Pokéathlon participants at the Pokéathlon Dome in the Johto remakes, specifically the Skill Course in the Supreme Cup.

The mentor thing I mentioned regarding Ash and Casey would also apply to Sakura in addition to spending more time with Misty. The only caveat with this one is that I'm considering adding an Espeon to Ash's Johto team which would clash with Sakura, so either her own Eevee doesn't evolve throughout the GS chapter (in which case another older sister would have to be added to fill in the gap), or keep her as a recurring rival for either the Gyms or the Pokéathlon.

And those are my choices for an additional Johto companion. Let me know what you think.

What if: Bionicle Reboot

So I was watching DuckBrick’s video about the challenges that Lego faces regarding bringing back Bionicle, and I had a thought as to how they could throw out the lore while still being connected - the series would occur PRIOR to the cataclysm that broke Spherus Magna

Given how the first generation provided no explicit information on what their society was like, there’s lots of room to play around with.

Furthermore, being Pre-calamity provides a convinient in-universe explanation for why they look different - a Watsonian justification for the Doyalist explanation of Old Molds Got Thrown Out.

My mental image is of a TV show akin to the Clone Wars animated series; while we knew how everything would fundamentally end, that didn’t stop us from getting invested in the smaller conflicts.

As for actual plot? The overarching plot of everything would tie into Climate Change, and how the actions of people/groups accelerate the pace at which it happens. In addition, you’d have episodes where they’d have to deal with the disasters, while it drains the resources we could (in theory) focus on fixing the big issue it’s not something people would tolerate. I can even see potential for episodes dealing with Identity, as their Genders are LITERALLY an artificial distinction.

The one thing that would connect to Generation 1 (and possibly even Generation 2) would involve the Mask of Time - it would be responsible for characters, most notably Tahu & Vakama in the original, getting Visions.

We know from the novels that Primordial Masks like the Mask of Time & Mask of Life are more self aware than most. (Tahu gets the Mask of Time to Vanish, never to be seen again, by telling it “begone”) so it would be perfectly feasible for it to be involved somehow.

Funny enough, the way that they canonically have Creating various things as part of the lore, you could easily work in a similar theme to the Lego Movie, but without all the Meta Plot that was happening in them.

In the wake of the absolutely vile James Gunn Superman reboot -- where the poor, much-degraded Kryptonian looks like a cross between a boy band reject and a ridiculously cheap and incompetent cosplayer -- I felt compelled to share these AI art pieces I generated of a version of Superman that people would actually like.

For a while now, I've wondered if perhaps what Superman could use to refresh the character and appeal to young kids again is a makeover in the vein of Disney's animated Robin Hood. All the classic characters we know and love, but taking place in a parallel universe where's they're all anthropomorphic animals. (And also, being written and produced by people who aren't left-wing activists and/or total hacks.) Certainly with the evil of the World Economic Forum and its transhuman agenda on full display, the shameless corruption and campaigns of death waged by the likes of Bill Gates and Anthony Fauci, and everything spilling out about MK-Ultra, suddenly the likes of Lex Luthor and the rest of Superman's earthbound rogues gallery are a lot more plausible. (Luthor alone could be a composite analogue for both Gates and Fauci, but without any true loyalty to the globalist powers he works for.) There's now a real-world context for much of the Superman mythos to exist without much question, and an opportunity to engage in some Rod Serling/'60s Star Trek social commentary as an underscore to the high adventure and sci-fi action.

Personally, I think that would a winning combination. Wild sci-fi/fantasy adventure and epic stakes for the whole family, cute cartoon animals for the kids, and weightier real-world subtext for adults. Not to mention that presenting Superman as an anthropomorphic bunny would go a long way toward undoing the trend of the last 32 years of making him a punching bag and a victim. Regular humanoid Superman has been emotionally/verbally abused, beaten, mutilated, and killed off so much that people are desensitized to it. The Superman pictured above? Only the most malicious, nihilistic and meanspirited of fanboys and fangirls would want him treated the same way. Everyone else would actually want this Superman to be a hero, to kick ass and take names and be a leader of men. In other words, a Superman who actually lives up to his name.

You could also have fun with reinterpreting the other Superman characters as animals as Robin Hood did with that mythos' regulars. Lex Luthor? A hairless cat (although that would be his own fault due to an unfortunate lab accident). Brainiac? A mechanized jackal. Darkseid? A pit bull. Doomsday? A deformed rhinoceros. Lana Lang, Superman's ex-girlfriend from childhood? A red squirrel, similar in design and personality to the horny squirrel who stalked King Arthur in The Sword in the Stone. Mxyzptlk? A weasel. And so on. The possibilities would be pretty endless and potentially very marketable to a younger audience that otherwise wouldn't be interested at all in Superman. And let's face it; younger, newer fans are exactly what the franchise needs.

But obviously, good writing and restoring the integrity of the major characters would be paramount. There's been a glut of bad Superman media across all bases for decades now. A GOOD version of the character is long overdue, and a Robin Hood-style take on the mythos wouldn't be a bad place to start,

ok im going to #seriouspost for a second here. I don't think Harry Potter is a manifesto. I think it was a flawed passion project that millennials latched onto because of the fantasy of sticking it to their mean teachers and arbitrarily categorizing themselves (hogwarts houses; it's the thinking millennial's astrology). I think the fact that the series got popular when and how it did was very much a product of its time.

I don't think Harry Potter is the biggest symbol of JKR's bigotry. I think the most flagrant sign of that was how she responded to critics. I watched her become radicalized in real time. I watched how she doubled down on her racism when she was called out for the ways she promoted her tragically mid fantastic beasts movies. I watched her chase marginalized teenagers with a double digit follower count off of twitter for daring to criticize her thought process, and no one with any kind of power standing against her because she was the one who was paying them. This isn't to say Harry Potter is without flaws. This is to say she really didn't give a shit about that. Getting rich and powerful is a hell of a drug, and she had enough sycophants that she had no reason to care about what her critics were saying.

She was convinced that she was a martyr; a voice for the unheard; a leader for the ages, so of course her detractors were the bad guys. And I think we should take this to heart. We should see this as an example of how easy it is to get radicalized; if you think of yourself as a paragon of virtue, you are going to think that whatever you see as good and right is an objective fact. Most people don't know this, but the majority of terfs start out as trans allies. You are not immune to propaganda! You are not immune to falling into dangerous ideologies!!!

This is why the most important thing you can do as an activist is to listen. Do NOT think you're above being wrong; do NOT develop a god complex; do NOT form an identity out of being right all the time. Involve yourselves in the groups you claim to speak for. Listen to trans women; share resources that help trans women; familiarize yourself with the diversity of experiences that trans people have and the struggles they face.

No, none of you are as bad as JKR because you don't have her money or her power. You will likely never have the capacity for harm she does. But check yourselves. Do not affirm yourselves into thinking you always have the moral high ground. Watch yourselves; humble yourselves; check yourselves for signs of cult behavior and internalized prejudice. You are always learning. You will always be learning. Do not allow yourselves to get a power trip from brushing off marginalized voices.

Possible Flintstones Reboot

Good evening everybody. As of recently, I had begun reminiscing about the Flintstones. More specifically, the grand finale movie: Hollyrock-a-bye Baby. I bought off of Amazon and watched it from start to finish. Needless to say, I loved every minute of it. The point I'm trying to get at is: what ever happened to the new Rubble family after that? More specifically: Chip and Roxy Rubble?

If there was ever a time to launch a reboot, it would be now. So my idea for a reboot would a Flintstones series centered around Chip and Roxy Rubble with their parents Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as supporting characters. It would be in a manner similar to the Pebbles & Bamm-Bamm Show from back in the 70's with just a hint of Flintstones Kids & Regular Show mixed in for good measure. Maybe even feature a callback to the original Flintstone/Rubble gang who've probably long since passed away by now; especially Pearl Slaghoople.

The first half of the season or so could feature the kids growing up in a prehistoric version of the 90's since that's when they were born and the other half would feature them as teens/young adults leading up to the present day. Who knows, maybe they'll start families of their own. It would put them in the same positions their parents were in at the movie's end; life really is a cycle people.

I mean Supernatural had 15 seasons; so surely this show would be worthy of such a feat. It would be interesting to see how the new Rubble family's life is like post Hollyrock-a-bye Baby. Not to mention see Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as senior citizens, given that the former's 61st birthday was a couple months ago this year.

I get that Warner Brothers wanted to do something similar to this back in the day, but scrapped it for whatever reason. I kinda get it: life's a never-ending cycle and this had to stop somewhere. Even so, now seems as good a time as ever to launch a series about the next generation of Flintstones/Rubbles. If not, it would make a great idea for a fanfic series if anyone else is willing to take that on.

As I've stated before with my last post regarding the modern stone-age family, The Flintstones was Hanna-Barbera's prehistoric representation of life; from its symbolic start to its triumphant end. As such, this possible reboot should be given the respect and love its predecessor had back in its prime.

Two old farts in a haunted house? One has a kid from an old marriage, the other has a banshee x-wife who tried to kill him? Like, he meets her while trying to escape his ex and she agrees to marry him instead since her fiancé admitted to not loving her except for her money. But she needs to be married to keep the house and he wants to be human, so marriage of inconvenience but they end up liking each other and stage ghost stuff for her show. Something something he lives or she dies and we get a dramatic ending.
