I’m bringing back the oldies baby. Portal au but y/n is a kid?? Maybe young intern Sans took under his wing before shit went down? Would things be more or less the same, or would everyone act differently with this hyperactive curious kid running around?
oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god. big robot trying his hardest to love and look after a child when he's already broken. i love it
Well, for one, it would be a smart move on Hit's part. Remember, Hit is the Portal AU's Rattmann. He's the one responsible for getting Mc to the top of the queue for testing. It makes even more sense in an AU where Mc is a child that Sans cared about- Hit's hope is that Sans' parental feelings will awaken in the cold machine.
And boy, do they.
Sans: Mc will not be tested. Obviously. As soon as he realises that it's a child, his 'this is my baby' instincts light up. He creates a robot body for himself, that can function like a physically present parent. Soft synthetics replace hard metal, warmth artificially flows through his bones, smiles can be played on his face. He obsesses over the creation of play rooms, entertaining non-serious puzzles, a kitchen where he can cook for her, a pretty bedroom with glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling. He essentially builds a house, right in the middle of the lab.
He knows her memory will be foggy, from the stasis. He intends to tell her he is Sans, rather than Sans' organic shadow uploaded into a digital mind where it festered and turned sociopathic. As far as she knows, he decided to turn into a robot because it was cool, and this is simply their new home together. Nobody died. Nobody was hurt. She is fine, he is fine. They are all fine.
... She wakes up in his arms. He never wants to let go.
Red: His directive, assigned directly from Sans, is to be the fun one. 'Uncle Red' must always be a joy to be around, a break from Sans, a distraction to keep her entertained. Sans makes him pretend he also used to be human, to keep her from asking too many questions. It sounds like it would be terrible... but honestly, Red delights in being the fun one. He has direct permission from Sans to play around with a child he's inherited Sans' fatherly attachment to, you can bet he'll be sneaking her off to cool secret parts of the lab.
... However... the more he spends time with her, the harder he finds it to see her living a lie. She doesn't know what happened, she doesn't even realise she's trapped, growing up in a perfect lie that Sans built for her. Red starts to wonder if he was really borne from Sans' consciousness... the two have completely different ideas of what her future should entail.
Skull: Skull is surprised when Sans requests his return, and promises not to kill him. Sans never makes promises. Sans, rather begrudgingly, understands that he needs Skull for Mc to be happy... after all, Skull is literally the conglomeration of all of Sans' most emotional parts, that he tried to throw away to stop feeling pain. Sans doesn't want to admit it, but he needs Skull- he knows he has lost the ability to easily display the love human children require. Mc will unconsciously seek out that missing part of Sans... but she'll find it in Skull.
Skull gets to enjoy a sleek new body, and he gets to care for his baby. Since Skull is raw emotion that turned into a living thing, for better and for worse there is probably no entity capable of loving her as much as Skull does. This is probably the best version of the Portal AU in which to be Skull.
Skull and Sans are happy to keep her forever. Red... Red is the only one who grows to have objections.

i don’t know what to call this AU. But, basically this is an antropomorphic AU and the bureau gang runs a cafe, while lune is the son of a powerful and influential CEO.
Here’s the bit of the story, Haru is a klutzy, college senior year girl, after saving lune, suddenly she is now the bride-to-be to the son of the famous CEO. Scared as she is, she seeks ways to cancel the engagement and suddenly found a cute cafe called ‘the cat bureau’ where she trips and met baron and the gang.
anyway, feel free to give me some suggestions !!

Devil's Minion AU but it's Armand and modern mortal!Lestat instead of Daniel. Send tweet.
Idk if this has been done before, in terms of set up let's say Lestat has been pursuing Louis (who Armand still spent all those years with, Louis just gets to the theatre via other means and situations) because he met him a few times in a bar and fell head over heels despite Louis disinterest. Anyway Lestat goes too far and finds out too much about what Louis is (completely unperturbed) and that is how he comes to Armand's attention.
What in your opinion happens next? Does Lestat play along with the cat and mouse chase? How well does he hold up over the years in comparison to Daniel? What is the dynamic like with Lestat as the guide to the mortal world, and how well does he do at it? Does this stories version of Night Island look different? When does Armand turn Lestat, is it sooner than he turned Daniel or does he still wait to the last possible second? This is a lot of questions and obviously you don't have to answer them but I can't stop thinking about the different ways this could play out 🤔
I'm supposed to be sleeping but this is my intrusive thought, I can't relax because OH. MY. GOD. Like, I know I've talked on here about what if Lestat and Armand had gotten together in 1781 Paris and it was Lestat that re-introduced him into the world, but I never thought of this.
It's so interesting for me to consider because we know what Lestat was like as a young mortal man! We know about his abusive childhood, his early education, religion, personality, everything! There's no guesswork/pick-your-headcanon like there is with Daniel.
I wonder... knowing that Armand's first time seeing Lestat in Paris immediately conjured up the memory of Marius, would he have felt the same seeing mortal!Lestat? Because I think he would've. And then my follow-up question is: in light of that, do we think Armand would treat him better or worse than he did Daniel in those early days because of it? I could work with either scenario here, but I'm inclined to think that he would have been more merciful because Lestat instantly reminds him of someone he so dearly loved.
So maybe he skips the whole let's-play-a-game Jigsaw bit and jumps to "You will be my teacher", only 'no' is not an option. There's definitely an element of fear and coercion here, which is missing within that particular scene in Pompeii in Devil's Minion. And on the flipside, we're missing the love that was present then with A/D because Lestat and Armand do not know each other at all yet, but it is kinder than Armand and Daniel's initial meeting.
I think the London/New York years would've played out similarly with mortal!Lestat as they did Daniel. Perhaps a bit wilder even, because Lestat himself has an extremely hedonistic streak (Dionysus and all). They would fall in love incredibly quickly; it was lust at first sight and love at a-couple-sights-later between them in canon, so I'll just translate that over here.
Lestat would probably want to be an actor or a performer of sorts, and Armand would finance him! Think the dancer in QotD but with music or the theater or film! It's weird for me to separate the context of Daniel from Night Island, but Miami could still work for them. Although if Lestat's in entertainment, perhaps an island off the coast of Southern California might make more sense. Armand could create his own film and recording studios for Lestat to do his thing, and if Lestat ever has to make appearances for movie premieres or concerts, it's always at night and via Armand's private jets with Armand in tow.
The most fundamental difference to this AU though is the fact that canonically... Lestat did not want to become a vampire! He was turned against his will! So this immediately eliminates the source of conflict that Armand and Daniel had. Armand and Lestat are not having fights (about that anyway), Lestat's not running away, etc. It's much calmer and less all-consuming because that complete and utter helplessness and desperation on the human's part isn't a factor.
It is the insane '80s though, and Lestat's living it up with his usual enthusiasm for life and absolute recklessness. Maybe he drinks a lot, maybe he's overdosed a couple times and been brought back. And he is shacking up with a vampire that straddles his lap and sucks at his throat every night. He's not dying but he's certainly gambling with his life, and not realizing it in the name of enjoying his youth. Opposite to Daniel, Lestat thinks he's invincible. Armand knows he isn't.
At this point, we have to remember that the whole Devil's Minion arc was for Armand to rediscover his humanity and ultimately make the final surrender by breaking his vow and turning Daniel. I don't think Armand ever intended to turn Daniel during their first years together, it wasn't supposed to happen, this was just an era in Armand's life (like he'd said to Louis about Claudia). But I do think that definitely changed as time went on, and he knew he was going to turn Daniel sooner rather later well before Chicago.
So to think about it with regards to mortal!Lestat, I can easily see a similar outcome where something happens (maybe he's 32, maybe he's older) and Armand arrives in time to ask Lestat for the first time if he wants the Dark Gift. And now, with nothing to lose, Lestat says yes.
~ fin
*remembering when I posted Devil's Minion: Loustat Edition and in the same post noted it just wouldn't be Devil's Minion without it being Armand and Daniel. The Armand/Lestat version is more like Devil's Playmate lmao less edgy and more flirty, a completely different dynamic but oh wow so fun to consider!

I have three different “routes”/versions of Wendy for the Carnival AU and they’re finally bursting out of my chest after being in containment for so long!
“Canon”! Wendy: Wendy is an AI with their own level just like the rest of the cast. Wendy and Jax’s relationship goes back to the early days of sentience, before they started losing their minds. Unlike the other characters, Wendy refused to leave Jax all alone. Just like in canon, cartoon violence is something of a love language between these two. Jax and Wendy are “Crazy in Love” (sorry I had to ;D) and fully adore one another. Wendy’s like “Free my man he did all of that stuff but he’s my specialest boy ever”. Jax can be in the middle of a vivisection and it’s like a switch has flipped when Wendy comes in: “Hi Baby. What can I do for ya? How’s my Pretty Little Clown? <333”
Player! Wendy: Enemies-to-Lovers. Wendy is a player who gets sucked into the game like Caine and Able. Wendy and Jax start out as enemies, with Jax trying to kill any player who enters and Wendy going “No thanks I choose life”. As time passes with Wendy stuck in the game, they begin to explore the levels more outside of their main games and get to know the bosses better. Despite everything, Wendy actually starts to sympathize with Jax the more they learn about him; he’s trapped in a world where he constantly lives with the possibility of being violently reset and has spent years being isolated instead of anyone trying to help him. Wendy starts leaving things like food and puzzles and art supplies whenever they replay his level. Jax is frustrated, thinking that Wendy’s just trying to win his favor so he won’t kill them. “Newsflash asshole: If that was the goal, I wouldn’t be coming back in the first place.” I imagine they even have a Beauty and the Beast moment like where they’re arguing while Wendy patches Jax up after he’s just saved them. They begin to form a weird truce, where they banter while Jax tries (but makes sure he doesn’t actually succeed) to kill Wendy while they try to win his level. Their banter takes on a flirty tone and they’re both left with the awkward realization that “Oh shit they’re actually pretty cute I think I’ve just found my type”. Jax claims Wendy as ‘his’ human and officially moves them in with him. They start to really fall in love. Jax becomes pretty clingy with Wendy, both out of possessiveness and wanting to protect them from the other dangers of the deteriorated Carnival. Wendy doesn’t mind- far from it, actually- but sometimes worries that Jax likes having them as his more than he likes them. But they manage to make it work, with Wendy not fearing Jax and Jax respecting Wendy’s personhood. Pomni and Caine are VERY concerned for Wendy when they first find them in Jax’s level and assume that it’s an abusive situation Wendy needs to be rescued from. They realize that Jax genuinely loves and respects Wendy as his partner either when Wendy asks Jax to spare them and he listens OR when Wendy simply helps the pair themself and stands up for them all when Jax catches them; they realize that Wendy is fine when 1) they argue with Jax on Caine + Pomni’s behalf without any trace of fear, and 2) Jax, despite being royally pissed off, actually listens to Wendy and debates with them as an equal before relenting and letting Caine and Pomni go.
Beta Tester! Wendy: Wendy worked at the company as one of the beta testers for the game and actually saw the characters become sentient. Jax was always Wendy’s favorite level, and they became good friends after Jax gained sentience. As their friendship grew, they began to fall in love and even built a romance together. When Jax first started lashing out at players, he actually begged Wendy to stay away, scared of hurting them too. But Wendy was determined to figure out what was wrong and help him. Even though Jax never hurt Wendy, it became clear that it was too dangerous for him to be alone with other players. Wendy desperately tries to stay with Jax but is eventually fired when they start digging a little too deep. When Wendy finally finds their way back, things are like they are in the present, and they’re actually scared that Jax won’t even recognize them. But through a mix of what memories haven’t been fucked up and his old tapes, Jax remembers Wendy, and they have a tearful reunion. Jax is even more possessive of Wendy, terrified of losing them again.
One constant across all of these AUs is that Wendy is the only person who can convince Jax to spare other players and dissuade him from violence.

Au Pair Girls https://bit.ly/3G09FkO Known in the US as The Young Playmates, Au Pair Girls is a ripe chunk of British cheese from 1972 and a prime example of the sort of film the UK was making at the time. A simple story of four girls arriving in the UK and then having various adventures, most of which involve them losing their clothes, Au Pair Girls really benefits from its feisty female leads, Astrid Frank, Gabrielle Drake, Me Me Lai and Nancie Wait. They’re an interesting bunch. Astrid Frank appeared in French, German and English language movies, switching from a French movie with Jean Gabin (1970’s Horse) to sexploitationers such as Swinging Wives or Swedish Love Games. … Read more

Ghostbusters AU: okay so like are sun and moon attached to the building bc they died there? Or manifestations of emotion from [Insert example here]?
Also is there an eclipse ghost mayhaps?
They're manifestations!! When a place has a large amount of emotions surrounding it (occurring from tragedies and whatnot) those emotions can turn into spiritual manifestations!! (Think of a place being "haunted" by a terrible past so to speak)
These emotions surrounding the newly refurbished og Fazbear pizzeria cause the spirit "Eclipse" to manifest. They are meant to be a protector but also a friend to children there. They answer the last calls of the children that died there, becoming what those kids needed before their demise. However, the spirit clashes with itself. It's want to scare away adults and protect children and it's want to be friendly and nurturing makes the spirit split in two! Becoming Sun and Moon!

So has anyone considered the possibility of William (or Dave, depending) having a Spring Bonnie plush that he plays with to age regress? Now, I get that regression is usually harmless and sometimes a coping strategy. But take this as a semi-good timeline with no MCI.
He might not even regress super often but talks to his rabbit stuffy as a way of dealing with getting spring locked or having his family die or something, acting like a kid instead of... you know, killing them
He'd keep it a secret, mostly and would only go into little space after a bad day to blow off steam, or talk to the plushie at night to calm himself down. Not sure what else or how it would connect to the greater FNaF Lore because I'm no sure what kind of Purple Guy would even consider little space (rather then just murder, as he's known to do.) I've also written Afton as jealous of children's innocence while hating his own corruption/fragile mental state (turned self loathing) and projecting his childhood trauma onto Evan so... I'm not sure if that's consistent or contrary
I am but a humble sleepy writer with too many ideas who uses Tumblr as a place to keep them instead of a notebook like a normal person so I can dig up ideas later and surprise myself

TW: suicide mention below
One extra thought on the Devil's Plaything AU that wouldn't fit in the replies. What if Lestat ran away from home with his boyfriend Nicki to the US, but lost him after he just disappeared in a suspected suicide, and that's why he becomes so obsessed with finding Louis again after their encounter since they look so alike and Lestat is losing his mind with grief.
When Armand finds Lestat he is in this extremely rough, lost, impulsive and self-destructive place and being with Armand helps give him some focus and structure again and helps him refocus on his goals (not to say that it's the healthiest thing all the time). For extra drama, what if it turns out that Nicki answered one of Armand's calls for those no longer interested in continuing with life one night.
What if that's an additional reason Armand feels so much towards Lestat when they first meet, he'd first seen Lestat through the eyes of someone who loved him during the very same act that practically ruined Lestat's life and sent him off the rails. So he feels extra responsibility to make things right and make Lestat happy, though as we see with Daniel he doesn't always know how best to moderate that with the health and wellbeing of his human lovers/pets.
Then of course there is the drama of what happens if Lestat finds out. Maybe Armand kept something he found in Nicki's pocket that was a gift from Lestat, and Lestat finds it and puts 2 and 2 together.
It's all getting very soap opera, this is what happens when I think about these guys first thing in the morning haha
Part I of the mortal!Lestat/Armand AU is here, for context.
Besides myself at you for introducing this much angst into the AU... Like, of course, that's what initially caught his eye when he saw Louis.
Suppose Lestat even managed to snap a photo of Louis in the bar where they met and he's so blindly fixated on tracking him down that he's taking out a page in the newspapers (it was the '70s, people got away with a lot back then), phoning in radio stations during the "missing connection" segments, the whole nine—he's totally losing it. He's in a new country and the only person he had left in the world to rely on is dead and gone.
So Armand is in his flop post-Louis phase, aimlessly prowling around when he happens to see a discarded newspaper on a park bench one night and randomly picks it up to see Louis's photograph alongside Lestat's contact information. How could Louis be so careless? Why was a mortal seeking out one of their kind? Did he have any idea the nature of the creature he sought? And Lestat... the name of the beautiful, golden-haired young man that had all but glowed like the long-forgotten warm summer sunshine in the dark, tortured mind of his victim a couple weeks prior. Could it be?
Of course, Armand needs to gather himself and it takes him approximately three days and nights to do so. He wakes up on the fourth night, having decided to let things lie, and perhaps move on to another city, when he hears Lestat's voice for the first time coming through the radio of a car stopped at a red light. Doesn't realize it's the same person from the paper until he gives his name and it matches the one Armand read... it's such a unique name too, it can only be him. And his heavily accented voice is so young and pleading and desperate.
He's begging someone, anyone to reach out to him if they know the person he's describing.
So someone, anyone does.
It's not hard for Armand to track Lestat down to his crappy little studio apartment where he's drinking heavily and enters through Lestat's open kitchen window like the wraith from the netherworld that he is.
Lestat promptly has one of those cartoon moments where he holds up the liquor bottle and considers that perhaps he's had a little too much to drink. That passes quickly and he's understandably terrified; Armand is more viciously curious and not caring at all about the shock to a human being that revealing himself as a fucking vampire would trigger. He's thinking he'd figure out how a mortal had been allowed to survive an encounter with Louis (and furthermore, run his mouth about it). And he's also more than a little angry and resentful at having had all his repressed memories of Marius come bubbling to the surface ever since he saw Lestat in Nicki's final moments.
But then he takes in Lestat's appearance and it's a knife through the heart and suddenly, without Lestat ever knowing it, Armand's at his complete and utter mercy by virtue of Lestat looking like the veritable son of Marius. Armand thought he was prepared but to see it right in front of him... He frantically catalogs Lestat's features and pries through the turmoil and confusion in his mind to see into his soul, and instantly decides he wants this human for himself.
Lestat's in a proper state though; this isn't Daniel looking for a fun story and being charmed by a gentleman vampire to be eased into accepting the supernatural as part of the reality. This was feral Armand climbing through a six-story window and standing over Lestat like the Angel of Death. It's nothing a simple illusion can't fix (Armand doesn't want him hysterical) and within moments Lestat's docile and sweet and silent while Armand recalibrates, tucking Lestat's curls behind his ears and cleaning him up on autopilot.
It's terrifying—the fierce and abrupt protective instinct that over takes him—knowing right then and there this one would be different than all the other pets.
He talks to Lestat softly, as though he were soothing an infant, as he gradually lessens the illusion bit-by-bit. Tells him Louis is no ordinary man, reminds Lestat that he put out a call for "somebody, anybody" and Armand's answered it. No need to think any further on Louis, however, he's lost to himself. Armand's here, and he wants him. Says he'll give Lestat everything he's ever wanted in this life and more—he's already looked into his heart and seen his wildest hopes and dreams, and he'll give him whatever he desires but Lestat has to do something for him first.
At this point, Lestat's come back into himself and sobered up as much as he's going to under the circumstances, and he's convinced the devil himself has come to offer him a deal.
"And what could you possibly want?" Lestat counters, because he's got a touch of attitude even when talking to the devil. And Armand offers, "You will be my teacher in this new era. You will teach me the ways of the century. You will belong to me. Then you have my word that I will grant you whatever your heart has ever desired, tenfold."
Lestat can't resist, "And if I refuse?" That's when Armand smiles his beautiful, fanged smile and shakes his head, saying, "We both know that you won't."
Then everything I mentioned in Part I takes place, etc etc. It's fairly smooth sailing, like I said—they have no reason to argue. I love what you said in the comments of the other post about Lestat having his own aspirations and ambitions separate from Armand, because yes he would! He's not simply living in Armand's world and going along with his whims, it's a mutual intertwining.
Daniel was all swept up in wanting to be a vampire and wanting a vampire, human life in itself held no interest to him.
Canon!Lestat loved humanity. When Magus told him to ask for the Dark Gift, he said 'no' repeatedly. So yes, I think in this AU, he would definitely insist that Armand provide X in exchange for Y, Armand would love the challenge and enjoy seeing him happy and satisfied with mortal pleasures and achievements.
Like an indulgent owner giving their most favorite cat a treat.
Now for that final nugget of drama you mentioned... let's presume Armand took a ring off Nicki that caught his eye that fateful night. A ring that Lestat had given him, and something Armand had kept with his few trinkets in his coffin until he'd made a permanent home with Lestat on their West Coast island. Armand hadn't realized the significance of it, hadn't counted on Lestat recognizing it since his memories pre-Armand were largely muddled due to his lifestyle and gorging on vamp blood nightly, and so he was careless in placing it in the jewelry box in the massive bedroom they shared for a few hour precious every night.
Understandably, Lestat falls to pieces at the realization and the horror of it all, full on existential crisis a la TVL, everything. This would their first real fight, in which Lestat calls Armand all kinds of names like "you monstrous, repulsive, demon from hell!" and at least several others. Armand breaks down and cries and tells Lestat that at least Nicki died a quick, merciful, painless death; by far the kindest option from anything he would have done to himself. Lestat cusses him out yet again and insists that he doesn't believe him, so Armand offers to let him see it in his blood if it would bring him any closure (Armand doesn't know that much about humans, remember... this is hardly the best idea).
Lestat accepts Armand's offer and is horrified to see in stark clarity Nicki's final moments, and also overwhelmed by the outpour of love he feels from Armand and Armand's own pain underlying it all. He pulls off and falls into a fitful sleep before waking up the next day close to dusk. Yet Armand is nowhere to be found. He's never missed a night with Lestat since he'd climbed through that window in the old apartment and it never occurred to him that Armand just wouldn't appear one day. Every single one of his childhood abandonment issues comes surging to the surface, compounded with the renewed grief of losing Nicki.
By the second night and no sign of Armand, Lestat's pacing the mansion and the beach outside their front door, screaming Armand's name at the top of his lungs like a crazy person, willing him to appear like the apparition that he is.
And he does, silent and repentant. Lestat's not sure that he forgives him yet, that he can forgive him, but nonetheless he clings to him and bends down to bury his face against the cold, dead skin of Armand's throat and swears up and down that he does. Tries to say something about predestiny, that he always knew deep down Nicki wasn't going to be okay, so on.
Eventually, he believes it (because what choice does he have?) and life goes on (for now).
