I think that my Top 9 or 10 games don't really change very much so I have decided to do something a little different (a lot of people do this, but it is different for me) this year. I'm going to post my current Top 9 games at the beginning of every year to see if/how much they change. I love the look of Everdell. Such a great table presence. A giant tree in the middle of the table, lots of little forest critter meeple, beautiful artwork and cards. This is a very interesting game by #JamesAWilson and published by #StarlingGames. I have to say that the first half of or play I was confused and not enjoying the game. I couldn't figure out how we were going to be able to do anything meaningful in the with so few workers and resources. But about half way thru I "got it" and saw how the card combos could really work together, get a lot of resources (or enough) and let you do SO much on your turn. I love it when a game surprises me like this! I think calling this a worker placement game is a bit misleading cuz there are so few workers to play with. After just one play I thought it was more of a tableau building game. I can't wait to play it again and try the new game expansion coming out soon.
