I hear what you’re saying and I love and appreciate the positivity but I’m just tired at this point. It feels like Fox all over again where its roads leading to buddie until the end of the season when it’s suddenly *storylines drive off in a random unsatisfying direction for Buck and Eddie and their LI’s* as the network goes hahah you silly shippers. You’re insane for thinking that was happening. We have no idea what you’re talking about or why you would even think that was a possibility. (But please stick around as we gaslight you into thinking it’s happening again next season before we do this all over at the end. 😜)

I understand why you'd feel that way and trust me I've been around for all of it and been burnt by the show time and time again so I get how you feel but I do believe this time is different. I think we're closer now to Buddie than we have ever been before.

If Buddie wasn't happening I truly believe Tim would have handled Buck's coming out in a way different way. He's not stupid and he knows how much people ship Buddie. Yet he made Buck's bi awakening ep all about Eddie. He's also had Buck and Eddie more connected than ever this season. There's also been very little of B/T and T*mmy. That's not the way you get an audience to become invested in a new ship. If Tim was really all about T*mmy and B/T we would have had more development with them yet they've barely had any real meaningful conversations

I also think that there would have been so much less press about Buddie. We've had more talk about Buddie by major press sites (ones that never talked about them before) like Rolling stone and People mag than we've ever had before. Tim and ABC (and the actors) could have made the decision early on this season to answer the Buddie question a couple of times to be firm and make sure people knew it wasn't in the plans. Yet not only have they not shut Buddie down but they continue to talk about it time and time again and the response is always basically that they want to take their time and do the story right. Also remember that questions are preapproved by the network and the actors team. If they didn't want to talk about Buddie they wouldn't be like in previous seasons when most of the time they didn't.

I get being scared to get your hopes up and of being let down again I'm scared about that too. More than anything I just really want to see Buck and Eddie finally be together. Not even just because I ship them but because I know how momentous and important it will be when that happens. I'm also tired of waiting for 911 to finally bring them together but I think we just have to be patient for a little longer because Tim and the rest of them only have one chance to get this right. I know a lot of us have been waiting years but considering they just moved to ABC and Tim just came back in a way it's like we're starting over again. But that's been a good thing I think for the characters and the show and everything feels like it's on a good track for Buddie to happen way more than we were after seasons 5 and 6.

Another thing is that the closer a will they/won't they ship gets to finally coming together shows will usually up the drama so we think it's not going to happen so then when it does it's more emotionally rewarding. So whatever is in store for Buddie right now even if they have a falling out (like some of the spoilers hint to) and even if B/T make things official going into s8 that doesn't meant Buddie is off the table. S7 did the most to let us know that Buck and Eddie know each other and get each other and are there for each other more than anyone else is for them and that relationship will always shine through above any other.

Try not to let the drama in fandom and whatever happens in the finale get you down. We can and always will be able to ship Buddie and celebrate that relationship regardless of whether or not they're canon. Message anytime. ❤️

thank you for what you said I really appreciate you explaining it so concise. Where do you stand on the whole Buck and Tommy thing if it's okay to ask? Because just based on what Oliver said in his latest interviews it sounds like that is going to be a very casual thing/fling which makes sense I suppose. Especially if Tommy is just a catalyst to get us to Buddie this season or at least Buddie getting confirmed as going canon.

Also can I ask why do you think Buddie is gonna go canon in your opinion, I agree with you that everything feels different and I truly think Ryan spilled the beans without actually saying it that now Oliver has to be with him at all times during interviews.

ABC is really towing the line on promoting Buddie without queerbaiting, a fine line to walk and a risk, but they're taking it, I presume for a very good reason

ABC has very much positioned themselves as the saviors of the show, not just literally but also giving them/us all the things they/we wanted but evil meanie FOX didn't - makes sense to me that would include Buddie (I'm sure they already have visions of GLAAD awards dancing in their heads)

they took Ryan's muzzle off - okay all jokes aside, Ryan was infamous for blurting stuff out during interviews, so the PR team has to know that letting him do interviews again (especially live video/audio that can't be ignored or deleted like a written article) will be a risk, so they have to be taking that risk for a reason

it's the only logical place the writing for these two has been headed since season three. I have four years' worth of meta on this blog about it by myself and others so feel free to dig around! (Please note: after three hours of writing out this response, I realize I may have misunderstood your question 😂 If you meant "what do you think a buddie sex scene would look like given tarlos", please let me know and it would be my genuine pleasure to describe that in great detail. What follows is not that.....)

I have been thinking about the potential of a buddie sex scene more than I ought to, I'm sure. You could say I've been a smidge preoccupied since realizing all the legit sex scenes in the show happened in season 1/early season 2. In seasons 3/4, the closest I think we've gotten to textual sex is Madney having sex to induce labour and that consisted of Maddie throwing her shirt at Chimney from off-screen.

Someone on that post (can't find it now of course) said that 911 Lone Star took over the original 911 later time slot and thus took over the ability to have sexier content.

As someone who hasn't watched a television show live in like 5 years, your ask has prompted me to do actual research to confirm this 🤓 According to pogdesign, 911 currently plays Mondays at 8pm and 911LS plays at 9pm which supports the theory.

That said, it kind of strikes me as weird that 8pm is considered too early for sexy content? But maybe I'm just out of touch with cable television??

So I did more research! So much research omfg this took 3 hours of my life. ��

First we define the issue at hand

I'm defining a "sex scene" as a scene that involves two or more people mackin' on each other with any of the following:

the beginning of clothing removal onscreen

the movement towards a bedroom or bed

getting into someone's lap as a sign of escalation

post-coital pillow talk or cuddling

actual shots of naked skin and writhing (softcore porn essentially)

So 911 got moved to 8pm. Do any other 8pm shows have sex scenes?

CW - The 100 🔥 (I know there was a minimum of 2 wlw sex scenes, though they may have been post-coital)

CW - Riverdale 🔥🔥 is another teen show that I don't watch so I youtubed "Riverdale sex scenes" and I'm led to believe at least one couple is banging semi-onscreen well into season 4 (it has 4 seasons???)

NBC - Chicago Med 🔥, a procedural show not about teenagers and seems to have a least 1 couple with sexy scenes (the other Chicagos air at 9pm and 10pm) and I saw lap sitting for a hardcore makeout for the other couple!!!!! TIM TAKE NOTES!

NBC - Superstore 🔥, a half-hour comedy that played at 8pm on NBC, did have at least this one cut-away sex scene

So 2 teen shows, 1 procedural and 1 comedy all had something in the way of "sex scenes" while airing at 8pm.

But what if Fox the network is the sex-scene-killers??

Apparently Fox literally has only 5 scripted dramas of which the 911 is one and the others are:

The Resident 🔥🔥, a medical drama that plays at 8pm as of season 2 (9pm for season 1) and the main couple seem to have several sex scenes, but interestingly from what I can glean from YT, they may have stopped after s2 (though the couple stays together until at least s4 from what I can tell)

LA's Finest 🚫, a rebroadcast through Fox, it airs at 9pm and YT didn't show me any sexy scenes

Fantasy Island 🔥🔥 which plays at 9pm and looks to have sexier content based on the trailer

911: Lone Star 🔥🔥🔥 which plays at 9pm. Tarlos have had like 2 heavy makeouts/implied sex scenes plus a pretty hardcore-for-tv sex scene in the s2 finale

So it seems like even for Fox, the 8pm timeslot isn't necessarily what's vetoing the sex scenes in 911. But just to hammer that home, I did even more researching into the watershed hours, which is apparently the designated time broadcasters can show sexiness, but in the US that's 10pm to 6am so if the restrictions were such that they couldn't show any sex scenes before 10pm, Tarlos wouldn't have gotten that finale action (thank you, IRL bff who watched 911LS so I didn't have to!)

TL;DR - a summation of our findings

The 8pm timeslot is not the sex-scene-killer I once thought it was (see: all them filthy shows)

911 being a cop show is not a sex-scene-killer (see: dramas, procedurals and comedies all had sex scenes)

Fox is not anti-sex in their 8pm scripted dramas in general (see: The Resident)

Fox is not anti-sex homophobically (see: Tarlos, Hen/Eva)

However!! There seems to be a somewhat weird, somewhat isolated trend of Fox shows either cutting off or tapering off sex scenes (see: 911, The Resident) after 2 seasons or specifically after 2019.

So what are the theories (from least to most favourite)?

Theory #1 (Buddie loses 🚫): "Something" happened at Fox in 2019. The Resident is the only true analogue to 911 as it's also on Fox, also premiered in January 2018, also started at 9pm but was moved to 8pm (in season 2, not season 3 like 911). If my very brief googling can be trusted, The Resident saw a lot of sex scenes in season 2 (at 8pm) but after 2019 there isn't much to write home about. That lines up with what we've seen in 911. If something happened internally at Fox that changed broadcasting guidelines for 8pm, then canon Buddie will not get sex scenes unless the timeslot changes back.

Pros: It would be a hell of a coincidence wouldn't it?? Both shows airing around the same time, both stop showing sex scenes around the same time???

Cons: It's pretty weak, I can't find anything that supports "something" happening in 2019 that would affect an 8pm timeslot but not the 9pm one.

Theory #2 (Buddie loses 🚫): Sex as a short-term sales tactic. Fox uses sex in the first two seasons of shows to boost ratings and get people hooked because sex sells. But then, for whatever reason, they taper it off. If so, Buddie being canonized would not produce any sex scenes as we're far removed from season 2.

Pros: The Resident and 911 both stopped showing sex scenes after season 2 from what I can gather

Cons: If sex sells, why wouldn't it keep selling all the way to the bank?? There's no reason to stop something that's working.

Theory #3 (Buddie wins 🔥): Actors are the roadblock. Fox is fine with sex scenes at 8pm but the actors aren't comfortable! If so, Buddie sex scenes could be in the cards as both actors have had on-screen sex scenes previously.

Pros: Angela Bassett, Peter Krause and JLH are bigger names and they presumably get to not get naked on screen or simulate sex scenes if they don't want to. Aisha Hinds as a (criminally) smaller name wouldn't have had that kind of leverage in season 1, nor would Ryan Guzman in season 2? And Oliver Stark knew what he was signing up to to play a self-diagnosed "sex addict" so.

Cons: This is absolute, complete conjecture. I have zero idea what each of their comfort levels with sex scenes are or how that might relate to the writing/direction of their characters.

Theory #4 (Buddie wins 🔥): Stable canon relationships kill sex. Fox dramas use sex only pre-maritally to build relationships and the network or the showrunners/writers decide it's not as important once characters are in stable relationships/married. If so, we will get Buddie sex scenes as their canon relationship develops.

Pros: The Resident couple did get married post-season 2 I think? Athena stopped having onscreen sex after she married Bobby. Hen had sex but out of her marriage.

Cons: That's dumb, let married people bone. And we technically do have a Madney sex scene, tame as it was (but maybe they straddle of the line of stable but pre-marital???). Also if sex = building relationship, EddieAna have been excluded from that formula oops 😌

Theory #5 (Buddie wins 🔥): We're overthinking all of this. There hasn't been sex scenes past season 2 because the stories haven't called for it but when it does, such as the start of a new relationship, then we'll get some!

Pros: We haven't had any "new" relationships other than EddieAna since season 2 and their lack of intimacy is a glaring reminder they aren't well suited - they're not boning for plot reasons. While not strictly meeting the aforementioned definition of a "sex scene", we could use Albert coming out of Veronica's shower as a use of sex-as-relationship-building.

Cons: That's dumb, let married people bone, the sequel. Especially since HenRen is criminally neglected in terms of development and could use a fun playful sex scene.

So what have we learned?

Should Buddie go canon, 3 theories indicate we'd get some sex scenes for them, and only 2 say we wouldn't. The odds are in our favour. 🤡

I will do literally anything to procrastinate writing this damn fic that's been tormenting me for weeks. Please someone, anybody...send help...

Anyone else beside me so tired of the hellers and their never ending drama? Their hate against Jared because he liked the finale episode? Their lies that they sell over and over until they believe it is true like Jensen hating the finale episode but ignoring that it was the one before the world went into lockdown? The bullying/stalking/death threats? The claims that Dean was suicidal when he wasn't? The claims that they can openly harass Jensen at the cons once they start up again about Destiel?

The fact that Supernatural is over and they still are causing drama?

I love Supernatural. I love Sam and Dean 😍. They will always have a special place in my heart one that can never be replaced. I will keep writing and reading fics about Sam and Dean. I refuse to let spoiled brats take that away from me.

If your response to Jared and Jensen answer that SPN is and never was about romance is to threaten them or declare they are homophobic please step away from SM and find something positive to do with your life other than threaten people over a fandom ship.

SPN is about the unbreakable love between Sam and Dean who are platonic soulmates, who chose one another above everyone and everything. Who defied Heaven and Hell plans.

J2 said nothing but the truth and I'm sorry that you can't handle having your fanon ship sinking again but it has been almost a year it is time to stop blaming Jared and Jensen for your ship never happening it never was. Jensen has said time and time and time again Dean is straight and Destiel was never going to be.

It has been almost a year and still hellers/minions take every chance to blame/hate Jared and to a smaller degree Jensen. To call them homophobic the moment they deny Destiel.

SPN was never going to be a love story it was always going to be about the bond between Sam and Dean and it is time the hellers realized this.

Jensen is not your Ken doll.

Jensen is not here to be a part of your fetish.

Jensen is far more than one half of your fictional ship, there is no Destiel connection to everything Jensen does. 

Jensen did not write any Destiel songs for the new album. 

Jensen has said time and time again Dean is straight and Destiel does not exist. You refused to believe him when he said that many times, going as far as to label him homophobic and now that SPN is done you still refuse to stop. 

No one was silent. Jensen did not sign a NDA. Jared did not use the final episode to prompt Walker. Jared being shirtless for one final scene of Sam did not prompt Walker or stop making your fanon ship from happening because it was never going to happen.

Dean is straight in canon and he will always be straight everyone from Jensen to Kirpke has said so. And I am bi so you can’t call me homophobic. 

The colour of wall, of light, of what shirt Dean wears or what he eats and listen to doesn’t make him bi. 

The show is over and you still refuse to stop, you refuse to see how toxic you are. The fact that you claim that bullying and death threats is okay. That telling people to die over what they ship because it is you who can not separate fiction from reality and that you put a fictional character above everyone even the actor who plays them shows how harmful the way of thinking you have. 

I know cult like behaviour and you all share the mindset of one. One of the popular blogs post something another one backs up that theory and suddenly you are all prompting it as truth without stopping to think for yourselves. 

And stop treating Jensen like he is yours to do with what you want or that he is supposed to act/think/behave the way you want him to be and then lash out at him when he doesn’t. Treat him with respect and acknowledge that he is his own person and not your doll.

MNM I just love the idea of Thor being possessive over Loki. Leaving marks allover his baby brother. Loki loves to tease Thor until his brother has enough and with a growl takes Loki anywhere anyplace to remind Loki and all who are watching that Loki is his. Loki sitting on Thor's massive thighs on the throne of Asgard where everyone can see the King massive fingers opening Loki up until Loki has enough and takes control and starts riding Thor in view of everyone.

And Sam teasing Dean with coy looks and knowing smiles as someone flirts with him, his smile growing as Dean jaw clench and his eyes darken with lust and possessiveness until he finally snaps and spreads Sam over the hood of the Impala taking him hard and fast marking Sam as his. Then when he has Sam spread out beneath him in the backseat of the Impala and teases him open until Sam is begging for more.
