it means that she WAS getting cut up during fights and of course she was. it's fighting. especially if she learned 8000 styles of swordplay. especially if she was the most infamous criminal of soul society. especially is she founded and led the 11th division, a.k.a. the frontal assault attack unit.

it means she was paying tenjiro (the literal inventor of medicine in soul society) constant visits so he would patch her up until she eventually learned from him.

it means the scar kenpachi gave her was not "the only scar" she ever received, but it was actually the only scar she decided to keep.

My HC for Mayuri's skin tone.

The manga implied pale skin while the anime appeared to give him darker tones, there isn't actually any definitive confirmation on how he should look, but because Mayuri is a Hindu name I've always headcanonned him as being Indian <3

People keep saying her green Shunko in BBS is better but tbh I like the yellow one in the manga lol. The animator wanted to make the color close to the actual wind color I guess

im a little hesitant to post this but it's been weighing on my mind for a while and i hope to establish a calm, healthy dialogue over this.

i have never enjoyed tybw. I've tried rationalizing why over the past few years but all of it ultimately boils down to one thing: the nazi-coded quincies.

i started bleach when i was 10 years old. im in my early twenties now. i enjoyed uryuu's character because his story held so many similarities to the ones i grew up with. i have had the fortunate experience of having met and interacted with quite a few holocaust survivors. i remember visiting my grandparents as a child, going to their synagogue, and having the older ladies show me their numbered wrists and telling me "never forget". one of my earliest memories is of my great grandmother sitting me down and asking me if i knew what war was.

so when the tybw arc came out, you can imagine how it felt to see such a relatable group turned into what essentially was, to me, a romanticized group of nazis. we've got the gestapo chic clothing, the german, the pureblood cleansing of their own people. im just wondering what kubo was thinking here. why did he think this was a smart choice lmao?

i want to be absolutely clear that at the end of the day i love bleach, I love the fandom, and i think respect must be shown to everyone whether they agree with kubo's decisions or not. and if you see these flaws and love kubo's characters anyway, that's fine. like i said in the beginning, i really hope we can have an insightful and intelligent discussion about these choices, whether you love tybw and the characters or not.
