This terrible day has come!⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ We we were so afraid of it… Yaroslav is now connected to the NIV equipment. He doesn’t have enough strength to breathe on his own... That cursed SMA has already taken away from my baby his ability to move, now it is taking away his breath too! ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ For now Yaroslav is on NIV at night only. During the day we continue to fight for spontaneous breathing, and it is so hard! We cannot allow for Yaroslav to transition to NIV completely, there will be no way back. How much time do we have for this battle? I don’t know exactly, but we are somewhere on the edge…⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ Blood oxygen saturation drops down from time to time. Normally, it should be higher than 95%, but in Yaroslav’s case it often drops lower. All body organs, primarily the heart and the brain, begin to suffer from the lack of oxygen... 1/09/17 I was brought into the ER, barely able to walk. They gave me blood, urine and ultrasound tests; assuming I had a pelvic infection or STD. I was released with "clean bill of health", in brutal pain. Later that night I returned, in agony, to the ER. This time, they gave me a CT and MRI. The tests revealed that I have several bulging discs; some in the lumbar causing stenosis. The pain is not any I remember, but I know it will make me stronger! I cannot work and am self employed.
