Concept/Script For A Wish Fan Animation
INT. PALACE - DAY
KING MAGNIFICO walks through the halls of an immense palace full of Disney characters. He comes to a fork in the hallway.
One side leads to a room filled with all the classic Disney heroes. Confidently, MAGNIFICO approaches them, only to have the door slammed in his face.
MAGNIFICO glances at the door leading to the other room, which is full of villains. He gulps nervously and tries to enter the room.
The villains all stare at him, some sneering in disgust, others cruelly laughing. They literally kick him out, slamming the door.
INT. HALLWAY - MOMENTS LATER
MAGNIFICO wanders alone, dejected. A somber version of When You Wish Upon A Star, comprised of wordless female vocals, begins playing.
Looking back and forth between the heroes and villains, MAGNIFICO sighs sadly, his eyes filling with tears.
Suddenly, a hand gently holds his. The music becomes more uplifting. MAGNIFICO turns to see a crowd of people smiling lovingly at him.
As the music reaches a glorious crescendo, MAGNIFICO beams in delight, embraced by his fans in a massive group hug. A tear of happiness runs down his cheek.

Skam Austin episode 2 reaction
I’m already sad that we probably won’t get a scene of them dancing horribly
Clip 1 - Smoothie talk
I just want to point out that while Meg is checking out Grace online, there’s a drawing on her wall behind her that says MAKE OUT. This is clearly foreshadowing. I proclaim it from the mountaintop.
This is a nice discussion of random crap when you have more important things to talk about. But also an illustration of how they’re not on the same page at all. Now he's mocking something else she likes (meglovessmoothies), kicking her when she's down.
Lol, I’m being hard on this kid. Him dissing smoothies is hardly the least of his crimes. But you exclude her so much, dude! She has no one to do the stuff she likes with her and he left her to do talent night alone.
What I took away from this scene is a craving for a smoothie.
Clip 2 - Call me
It’s a pretty big cultural jump from Noora naming herself after a Twin Peaks character to Grace naming herself after a Dumb and Dumber character.
I think this was a good way to incorporate social media into the clip itself. It’s one of those interactions with a weirdly specific social connotation. The comment being deleted is more suspicious than if it had remained up.
I've seen people speculate why Abby would bother posting on his IG publicly. Maybe because she wanted Meg to see it? Or she really couldn’t get in touch with him any other way.
Clip 3 - Sad girl
It definitely sounds like Tyler said “Abby.” He says “Oh shit” afterwards as if her realized his mistake. Plus he decided to go to the vending machine and Marlon went along, maybe so they could talk about what just happened.
Usually Skam doesn't all-out twist what's happening, what we hear and see if what’s really occurring. Like with Isak hearing Even’s voice while buying his depressing cheese toastie, he's legit hearing a guy who sounds like Even, he didn’t imagine it.
Shay is a bad but adorable liar.
And she seems flirty as hell and I hope I’m not just projecting.
I like how direct and kind Grace is. No Megan messing up with H and inappropriate slut jokes. Some of the characters are on the rude side (us Americans, am I right) and Grace was just sweet, and Megan got her message right when she needed a pick-me-up. Also, no sweating for days over whether Grace will follow her back!
Clip 4 - Chemistry
He's reading The Great Gatsby while Meg reads The Scarlet Letter. Any significance, since they’re going hard with The Scarlet Letter?
“We have chemistry together, you know that.” Yes, we do know that, Marlon. That’s why Meg is worried.
Marlon is such a liar, he can't keep his story straight.
“If you were in my chemistry class I would be texting you non-stop” lol I know he didn’t mean it this way but that has some connotations in light of your current situation, bro.
Clip 5 - Girl Squad together
This is a low standard but I do love how realistic and down go earth all their clothes are.
Kelsey’s red upper lip legit made me laugh. At first I thought she'd been drinking fruit punch.
Jo and Kelsey are ride or die BFFs, I love it.
Kelsey looking scandalized when Grace doesn't know what a Kitten is then her “bless your heart, no wonder you’re so lost!” when she learns Grace is new, tells you all you need to know about her priorities. Also I’ve never heard one of those Southern “bless your heart”s in the wild before, I feel like I’ve spotted a rhino.
Meg: “Who am I?” THEME.
Regarding the formation of a dance team, I have some questions/concerns as to how they would handle that. If it were just a recreational team that’s one thing, but if they can get out of P.E., as Jo says, then it’ll have to be school-recognized, and I’m sure that comes with a lot of rules that you wouldn’t have if you just want to dance for fun. My school required only one year of P.E. for students (thank Goddddd) but you didn’t get out of it even if you were on one of the school sports teams, so I don’t know quite how it works. I had some friends from other schools who joined their schools’ athletic teams as a replacement for P.E., but these were all well-established teams. If Kelsey’s team gets recognized by the school, do they have to agree to a particular schedule? Dance competitions? Performances at school functions and games? So many questions.
Grace, a dance team is a hell of a lot to commit to just to show up an Islamophobe. I mean props to the sentiment but you’re probably going to have to like ... dance, and work out, and get up early and stay after school and stuff.
I also don’t think a dance team is something she can sit out as much as Noora could be whatever about the bus, especially if there’s a 5-person minimum for the team. Grace has to be all in or she’s out.
Is Zoya going to turn out to be an amazing dancer? Did she audition for the Kittens, or did she not bother because she figured she wouldn’t make it? I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a dress code that prevented her from wearing her hijab in performance.
Clip 6 - Losers club
All right, so I kinda loved this clip and kinda hated it.
But boy did I feel bad for Kelsey in this one, in a way that I’ve never felt for any of the Vildes! Because Kelsey was doing more or less what I, a nerd, would be doing if I attempted to form a dance team. Jumping the gun a LOT with reserving yearbook space, but meeting with the principal, planning to raise money, and researching dance routines, all of that is what you should be thinking about. You know … putting together a team.
Kelsey: “I already have the agenda already...:” IDK if it’s scripted or improvised but I’m oddly into them capturing that kind of redundant language that I hear from a lot of teenagers. And well, adults.
Kelsey not even answering Grace’s question about the need for an alternative dance team. She just has an endgame and she’s going to stick to it, gosh darn it.
“Share some of that Kitten secret sauce with us” I’m not going to make a NSFW joke. I’m not.
Actually, what a blast would Jo/Shay be.
I guess what I wonder is why Zoya wants in on a nobody dance team unless she really loves to dance. Like are they ever going to show them dancing? Practicing?
Yeah, going off the earlier point, I feel really bad for Kelsey because she seems like she seriously wants to be on the dance team - maybe just for popularity/social reasons, because she seems to have a very high opinion of the Kittens. But if she’s tried out five times, she’s been practicing for weeks beforehand, and she’s throwing herself into creating a dance group of her own, that also sounds like someone who wants to dance because she enjoys it and not just to boost her social standing.
And with that in mind, although I enjoyed a lot of Zoya’s dialogue, the fact that she stepped in with her suggestion to hook up with guys made me sad for Kelsey in a way that I haven’t felt for Vilde in any other version of this scene. Because russ/parties do have a social element involved that’s at least relevant to getting guys to like you. Druck has an established school party that the girls get assigned to and they just start going out as a crew. Skam Italia did away with the organized squad altogether and just had the girls start hanging out, somewhat formed around getting Silvia a date. But if I really wanted to form a dance team, I didn’t plan on having to hook up with dudes. That’s not a purely social organization, that’s an athletic/artistic/competitive one.
“My plan is to work really hard on our routines” Kelsey :(
Lol somehow I think working hard on their routines will go over better with the principal compared to hooking up with football players.
Zoya says that “you guys” will have to get with the dudes because she won’t, but she includes Kelsey in this, soooo I guess Kelsey is not supposed to be that conservative of a Christian? Or will that not come up?
Jo immediately planning blackmail as a way to get the Kittens to join them - lol, this is the kind of character I enjoy, I love her.
Zoya: “If you didn’t want to be seen as a sexual object, you’d shave your head, stop wearing makeup and start wearing looser clothes.” Grace: “I wear these things for me, not for guys.” Zoya: “Well then I find it very convenient that the things you wear for you are the exact same things that a heterosexual man in America finds attractive.”
OK, that was a completely new bit of dialogue and that was something that got my attention. Because that’s good. Zoya and Grace, as the two most likely feminists of the group, having opposing takes on beauty culture. I saw people objecting to Zoya’s perspective but she’s neither 100% right or 100% wrong. Women have personal choice and preferences to style themselves how they want, including dressing with themselves in mind rather than men, but you can’t divorce that from the larger societal ideals of how women are supposed to look. I make the choice to shave my legs and no one is forcing me to do it, but I also didn’t wake up one day and form this completely independent idea that no one had done before; I had a societal norm to give me the idea. And a lot of beauty standards on women are enforced by patriarchy. It’s a really difficult conversation to have because you’re dealing with the individual (Grace saying she wears these things for herself) versus the collective (Zoya saying it’s not an accident what she chooses for herself also happens to be societally acceptable). Everyone at that table is making their own choices, but within a larger system that sets precedents and ideals. But there are also a lot of assumptions that Zoya is making, such as whether Grace is interested in heterosexual men; Grace could be a lesbian for all she knows. Not to mention that Grace is wearing an average sweater and not much makeup, so it is a leap to think she wants to be seen as a sexual object. All of the girls seem very casually dressed, in fact, and Zoya is wearing as much eyeshadow as any of them, so what’s the difference? Can Zoya say she’s wearing eyeshadow for herself, but the others can’t? To me it’s less whether Zoya is completely right and more about the fact that the ideas were introduced at all.
That’s my rambling way of saying I liked that exchange.
Julie repeating the same camera angle with Sana/Zoya’s back surrounded by her court … sighhhhhhh come on.
General comments:
I guess what’s really frustrating is that there is so much rich material here in the setup that they could spin into new scenes and stories, but I’m not sure if they’re going to do it. Like … we should get them actually trying to dance! I want to see shitty dance montages! I want to see Grace being over it and Jo goofing around and Kelsey trying her best and Zoya defying everyone’s expectations and Meg becoming a crucial part of the team with her experience, finding some purpose and joy again! Let’s talk about clashes between Kelsey and Zoya over the uniforms, let’s talk about the first time they try to perform publicly and it’s a mess (actually let’s not, I would expire from secondhand embarrassment.) Give me all of that dance team drama, played realistically.
But also stuff like Kelsey’s religion and how that plays into the plot (like how DOES she feel about being asked to hook up with guys), how her being a Christian and Zoya being a Muslim should yield both some common ground and some huge differences.
I’m sort of getting the same feeling I had in S4 of Skam where there was so much incredibly rich material to develop, but instead they went with stuff that was much less interesting.
The profanity filter on the FB videos is SO DUMB. There is a mature content warning at the start of every clip. Why do they have to bleep out the swear words?
I get the sense that a lot of the new viewers on Facebook don’t know what to do about the texts and IGs.
Marlon’s text about going to see Avengers makes it sound like the movie just came out, which is probably because the movie was supposed to be released that day (May 4) and was pushed up to April 27. Which I get but part of me’s kinda like, you could have revised that to sound a little more fitting to the date. I feel like Marlon would probably not going to wait a week to see Infinity War.
Also Marlon has overtaken Giovanni from Skam Italia as my least favorite Jonas. He’s not the devil or anything but I definitely don’t want him and Meg together.
Jo and Shay continue to be my faves. They really should have scenes together at some point. Share one of those long candies, Lady and the Tramp-style.

Podia Reviews 2020: Is It Any Better Than Other Online Course Sites?
Before getting into any discussion, let us first understand what are online course sites. Suppose you have created the next big thing – a lit album, a bestselling book, a website for online courses, etc. Now comes the question, how do you make sure that it doesn’t get lost in the online market, and stays in front of your audiences’ eyes? This is exactly where these platforms come to play.
When you are planning to earn out of your online business, digital downloads, or memberships, one of the most prominent steps you need to take is to make yourself heard among your customers. Thus, you must stop wasting your time and money into insufficiently marketing your content. It is better to use a platform that helps you to not only create a digital storefront but also offers a single site to market and sell your content and get noticed by the subscribers.
If you own a small business and are looking for a creative business platform where you can manage your sales as well as marketing campaigns, Podia might work the best for you in boosting your entrepreneurial spirit. This blog revolves around Podia review for 2020. But before we get into the details, let’s talk basics.
What Is Podia?
Podia is a creator-friendly platform that assists online businesses to sell their products, courses, and memberships at the same place. This all-in-one tool not only allows its users to sell their own products but also doesn’t ask them for any additional share of their earnings when using the platform.
One can sell their digital downloads- PDFs, audiobooks, online courses, video content, etc. It also comes with some very beneficial features like built-in email marketing, real-time chats, custom pages, and many more. As a matter of fact, Podia is not a crowdfunding alternative.
An Overview Of The Platform
Way back in 2016, Podia came by the name Coach when its features were still in infancy. Since then, its team has added numerous specialties and upgraded the platform to come up with some incredible features. Here’s a summary of some of the best ones that I have found, along with some shortcomings:
1. Easy To Use
The thing that hit me the very first day I used Podia was its simplicity and minimalist approach. One can easily and quickly set up their courses and storefront even if they have very little technical knowledge, and everything would still look out of the box. Both the frontend and backend have a clean design, and you can create individual posts for your membership.
2. No Need To Buy A Separate Domain
One of the best advantages of using Podia is that one doesn’t need to buy web hosting separately or look into any technicalities like maintenance, updates, security, etc. Their teams manage these technical things. Besides, you will also get a subdomain (mysite.podia.com) or an option to use a domain of your own (mysite.com).
3. Design and Customization of Course Sites
Themes: This site has a single template for website themes, and you can change the color that you would want for your store. You can customize the color of the background, texts, headings, buttons, etc.
Page Builder: The page builder comes with various inbuilt elements that you can add on your pages- FAQs, testimonials, author bio, images, or videos with text, Columns, course description, product banner, etc.
Overall, the designing part is something very simplistic yet practical even for a newbie who has no experience in coding or designing. However, the biggest drawback remains that one cannot opt for a different theme. Also, you cannot alter the text font, size, manage the spacing, etc. So it is not a very excellent platform for building a fully-fledged website, but a recommended one for small businesses to get started.
4. Competitive Pricing
Podia, as compared to a majority of the online course sites, costs reasonably less. It has two plans- the Mover ($39/month) and the Shaker ($79/month). There is no transaction fee, and it also offers you a 14-day free trial. You also get further discounts on switching to any of the plans during the initial days of your 14-day free trial. Plus, you get 2 months of FREE trial for your annual plans.
The Shaker plan offers you everything that you would need to set up your online business. But the Mover plan lacks some of the very crucial ones like free migration, using third-party scripts, and affiliate marketing.
All-in-all, the prices are fair for online businesses, in general, but a bit higher for the ones who are new to the market as they won’t be able to understand and carry out a lot of campaigns using the lower tier.
5. Course Creation & Engagement
Content Uploading: You can either upload your content one by one or in bulk, there’s no glitch in either of the processes. But you cannot upload your folders or files directly from cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.). Thus the process gets a bit slow.
Structure: The course builder allows you to order and reorder the lessons that you have uploaded. It is super easy to use but needs more flexibility as it lacks some advanced features like:
1. Adding Video and PDF in the same lesson (folder). 2. Making course videos downloadable. 3. Turning off the downloading option for audio files.
Basically the platform has fewer formatting options, but it is exceptionally straightforward to set up and operate.
6. Marketing and Sales Tools
Product Pricing and Payment: This website gives you the option to accept payments through both credit/debit cards as well as Paypal. The money goes directly into your wallet without any transaction fee. The entire process is extremely feasible, and I haven’t experienced any delay in the transactions as well. They offer instant payouts.
However, there are some problems with the payment option like:
1. You can price the “Products” only as a yearly option. 2. No option for free trial in the “Membership” option. 3. There is no payment option using Paypal for subscriptions.
Checkout Process: Your users don’t have to create an account for making payments. The checkout occurs in a popup, and your customers can finish checkout without having to leave the website. The only downside is that you cannot add product testimonials, money-back guarantee, etc. on this page.
7. Customer Support
Something that Podia has taken care of since the very beginning is the responsive and friendly customer support. You can either contact them via email, or directly leave a message on the chat widget, and you will get a response in no time!
Podia also has a Knowledge Library on which you can search how to do certain things on that platform. I personally found this option to be extremely convenient for those little doubts. The free guides that they offer also make it very feasible for its customers.
8. Reporting and Analytics
Podia, as compared to other online course sites, lacks in this area. The reporting abilities are a bit limited. For instance, you can track your individual students for course/lecture completion, but you cannot record the metrics for their course level, etc. You also don’t get data for the video engagement rate.
Some More Features Of Podia In A Nutshell
Final Thoughts
Podia is slowly arising out as a pivotal player in the e-commerce industry. Despite having some very successful competitor course sites like Teachable and Thinkific, this platform offers some very exceptional services to its customers. Justified by the customer testimonials, this platform has proved itself to be reliable. It has a very creative interface, charges no transaction fees, and is quite cheap.
It is not suitable for building a fully-fledged website as it lacks some tools. But if you’re a business owner with little to no technical experience, this tool is definitely going to work for you.

At the beginning of last semester, my teacher had all of us start doing practice logs for our practice sessions. I fell out of doing it for a while, but about a month ago I got back into it and...it's kinda awesome. It's a semi-common thing among musicians
It helps you stay on top of things.
Right now I'm prepping for juries, practicing my normal rep, and preparing an opera score for a summer program. When you have multiple scores or scripts to learn, it can be hard to stay on top of practicing it all, and to make sure everything is being practiced regularly. If you write it down, it takes the guesswork out of all of that. You can check what you have worked on, and what you haven't, and use it as a guide. It makes doing multiple shows (or just learning a ton of music) more manageable. It also helps you keep track of exactly how much you're practicing each week.
It makes your practice sessions more structured and productive.
This is by far the biggest benefit for me. I enjoy practicing, but what I quickly realized when I started logging my practice sessions last semester is that I practice in the most erratic and disorganized way possible. Keeping a log of what you practice, as well as how you practice, can really help you become more productive and organized in your practicing, and help you improve your practice strategies in the long run. I actually use my practice journal to guide my practice sessions. I'll check what I've worked on that week, and then decide what needs more work, what I've been neglecting, and go off of that.
How do I make a practice journal?
There is no right or wrong way, it's all personal preference. When I first started my practice journal, I did it electronically, through Evernote. I could access it on my laptop and my phone, link recordings I liked of the pieces I was working on, etc. I have recently switched over to using a physical notebook, because I find that I remember what I write down a lot more when I actually write it.

A couple pages out of my actual practice journal.
How I do it:
I like to keep it simple. I write the title of the piece I worked on in all caps and highlight it, so it's really easy to see at a glance what pieces I've been working on. Then, I list off whatever I did in that specific piece, what worked, and what didn't. Again, I keep the bullet points simple, but they have to be clear, because I often will go back to review what practice techniques worked, or what new things I discovered.
Use it to keep track of notes you get in your lessons, coachings, and rehearsals too!
I started incorporating actual notes from rehearsals and coachings into my journal this semester, when I was cast in an absolutely massive opera scene. I would listen back over the recordings from my rehearsals/coachings, and then write down all of the corrections and notes that I received. I also write down notes I get via email. That way, I have a clear record of what I need to mark into my score, and what I need to practice.
This is especially helpful for people like me who are constantly juggling multiple shows and ton of rep, where all of the notes can kind of blur together. Plus, the actual act of rewriting your notes helps you remember them.

Some of the notes I wrote down following a coaching/rehearsal. It was a long rehearsal with many changes made, so this is actually only about half of the notes I received from that particular day. I listened back over the recording of that rehearsal, and wrote it all out.
The most important part of practice journaling is to make it your own and personalize it to suit your needs. What do some of you do to keep track of your practice sessions and rehearsal notes?
TL;DR: Practice journal is awesome and helps you keep track of things and enhances your practicing so I 10/10 would recommend.

Victuuri Recs #7
One Step Sideways by airgeer (PG-13, 28k) Summary: "Waking up in a world where the best possible turn of events was a literal doppelgänger was not exactly what Victor considered a great morning. The other Victor apparently begged to differ. “Amazing!” he said, poking Victor in the shoulder." Just as Victor and Yuuri are about to start the final dash of preparing for the Grand Prix Final, Victor finds himself in a different reality- one where he, rather than coaching Yuuri, is in the middle of skating his retirement season. They don't know how it happened, or how to fix it, but neither Victor has ever let details like that stop him. [Parallel Universe, *FAVORITE] You Can't Plan for Everything by RivDeV (NC-17, 113k, WIP) Summary: Yuuri forgets that he has a scheduled heat coming up until it's just a couple weeks away. He scrambles to get everything ready in time, including deciding whether he'll spend it alone or with someone. Victor only wants to help. [Omegaverse, *FAVORITE] turn it, leave it, stop, format it by ebenroot (NC-17, 19.6k) Summary: “If you want, I can recommend you some security programs that you can download for free and protect your computer. That way, you won’t be at risk of losing these cute photos of your dog even when you browse websites like ‘Luscious Lonely Wives’.” Victor gives one long ‘haa’. “I don’t browse those websites,” he says through his straining smile. -- the 'i will break any and all electronic devices that get into my hands if it means I get to talk to the cute tech support guy' fic [Tech Support!Yuuri, Dog Groomer!Victor] so this guy walks into a bar... by silvercistern (NC-17, 16k) Okay, okay, okay so you know that trope where a couple pretends to be strangers so that they can seduce each other? Yeah I’m sure you do. It’s been done before. But hear me out: What if they were embarrassingly bad at it? Instead of talking over their future, two grown-ass, married adults pretend to be strangers in a club. Those Three Words by azriona (R, 31k) Summary: Their one night of passion in Sochi left Victor Nikiforov with a bit more of a souvenir than either he or Yuuri Katsuki bargained for. Oops? [Omegaverse] i feel like i win when i lose by renaissance (NC-17, 7.9k) Summary: Yuuri’s life is a mess. He came a spectacular last in the Grand Prix Finals, drank too much at the banquet, initiated no fewer than three dance-offs, took his shirt off, wore his tie like a headband, pole-danced in his underpants, made a fool of himself in front of ISU officials—and now, somehow, he’s Viktor Nikiforov’s booty call. [Canon Divergence] My Name On Your Lips by feelslikefire (NC-17, 31k, WIP) Summary: Yuuri Katsuki has been betrothed to the High King's son, Victor, since he was just a child; furthermore, as an omega, he's forbidden from practicing magic in combat. For years, he's been able to put off the former because the Prince was traveling abroad, and gotten around the latter by practicing with his mentor in secret. Now Victor Nikiforov has finally returned home, and Yuuri is being summoned to the capital for their wedding. He needs a plan to put off marriage long enough to find a way to break the betrothal, while keeping his practicing from being discovered. If only the Prince didn't have other ideas. (Or, the swords-and-sorcery arranged marriage AU. Updates weekly.)[Omegaverse, WIP] Until My Feet Bleed and My Heart Aches by Reiya (NC-17, 147.5k, WIP) Summary: ‘…Of all the rivalries in the world of sports over the years, perhaps none has become so legendary as that of Russian figure skater Viktor Nikiforov and his rival, Japanese Yuuri Katsuki…’ A single event changes the course of Yuuri’s life, throwing him into a bitter rivalry with Viktor Nikiforov that spans across his entire skating career. But as the years go on, rivalry and hatred begin to develop into something very different and Yuuri doesn’t seem to be able to stay away, no matter how hard he tries. Hatred and love are two sides of the same coin and even though everything changes, some things are still meant to be. [Rivals!AU, WIP] He's Going the Distance by Phayte (NC-17, 2.6k) Summary: So... Day Two Prompt for Victuuriweek - LONG DISTANCE was the Prompt with Yuuri... so um... Yuuri, Victor, Phichit and Chris have a 'long distance' contest to see who wins... at your service by anirondack (NC-17, 5.2k) Summary: “That felt really good,” Yuuri says as he shuts the television off on the second try. “Can you do the rest of me?” A Victor standing up, a Victor sitting on the couch next to Yuuri with a glass of wine in his hand or a dog in his lap, would have made a suggestive joke about that. But the Victor on his knees just nods, happy to have direction on how to best please Yuuri, and says, “Of course.” Five thousand words of service sub Victor, plus some sex. [D/s] lie to make me like you by cityboys (R, 80k) Summary: It’s become a game, of sorts, to anyone privy to the fact that the pattern exists in the first place: ask Victor out at the beginning of the month, date for however many days, and wait for the end to come and for Victor to say, always: I couldn’t fall in love with you. Let’s break up. Or, Victor is a retired actor looking for love, and Yuuri happens to be the (un)fortunate soul to unwittingly ask him out at the beginning of the month. Except relationships don't come with a script, and it's much harder understanding love than roles. [Actor!Victor, Ballet!Yuuri Entertainment Industry AU]

Top Book Writing Apps
If you are thinking ” Hmm..Do I really need a book writing app?”, I’ll tell you why you do.
There are a lot of people out there who want to become writers, maybe even published authors. I’ve met a number of people who had brilliant ideas for books, but just don’t know how to start.
Now, that’s something I can identify with. You see, when I first got into writing, I started off with a lot of enthusiasm, but quickly found myself running out of gas. I just couldn’t seem to get myself organized and as a result, found it hard to muster up any motivation to keep writing.
Writing started to become a chore – just like my day job – rather than the magical creative process that I had imagined earlier. I didn’t feel like I was making any progress and I was on the verge of quitting.
What changed my life is when I put in time to research the whole writing “Process”.
I realized that if I have to accomplish anything at all, I needed to start looking at it as a step by step process, get myself organized and focus on smaller goals rather than the entire book.
That’s right. You need the craft and you need the tools. There are a number of courses out there that teaches you the craft. We will focus today on the tools that will make your life a lot easier and a lot more fun.
So, let us start with the basic questions – What book writing apps should you use? OR what are the best creative writing apps out there to help you fulfil your dream?
You may not need some of the tools you will find here to become a good writer. However, there are some her that every writer must have in his or her toolkit. So, whether you are an absolute beginner or a published author, a blogger or a fiction writer, you will find tools and writing software here that will help you become a more productive writer. So, go ahead. Check out these book writing apps and software and pick the ones that suits your need.
Which are the best book writing apps and software available today?
Remember, all book writing apps and software are not created equal. So, in this article, I will give you my assessment of the various writing apps and creative writing software. Some of them are free to download and try out.
There are a number of free book writing software for beginners. You may not need to invest a lot of money in shiny tools if you are just starting out.
However, some of the paid creative writing software have many more powerful features and can really help you make more productive and organized. But I will leave it to you to judge which writing app is good for you and which is not.
Scrivener: The king of book writing apps
Scrivener is one writing app that I would recommend to all writers – whether you are looking for fiction or nonfiction. Scrivener was created with only one type of user in mind – The writer.
What sets Scrivener apart from other book writing software or even word processors like Microsoft Word, is the fact that it takes the complexity out of projects and helps you to efficiently organize your thoughts and content. This makes writing a far less tedious process than it would otherwise seem – Especially if you are writing long content or maybe even books.
I have used Scrivener for writing all forms of content – Long blog posts, eBooks or even Fiction to publish on Kindle.
A number of writers I know absolutely swear by this writing software. What I like best is the distraction-free writing experience it provides. With Scrivener, you get complete flexibility when it comes to writing, formatting your content or even organizing your book. This is great especially if you are planning to self-publish.
Scrivener writing software is a perfect tool for fiction writers because it makes plotting out storylines a breeze. Scrivener also lets you export data from many of the other writing tools and platforms and that is a big plus.
Another thing I like about this writing tool is its drag and drop feature that makes it easy to use and organize your content.
With Scrivener, you can easily create outlines, plot your scenes, organize your content by moving them around and pretty much do anything that you need to do as a writer. There are some great templates available too to help you write quickly.
Another plus I see in Scrivener is comes is available for various platforms – As a desktop writing software, or an Android or IOS writing app. So now you don’t have any excuse why you can’t complete that project.
Another Scrivener feature that makes writing easier is, it has keyboard shortcuts that will make the writing process a breeze. If you need any help with Scrivener writing, you should check out these videos.
Before you actually decide to buy Scrivener, what you need to keep in mind is that it will take you a little bit of time and effort to master this writing software. But the effort you put in to learn will soon pay rich dividends and your productivity will skyrocket.
In my opinion, Scrivener is most powerful book writing app out there.
I totally understand if you are not ready yet to spend money on a writing software. There are some great alternatives out there although most of them may not offer you all the features that Scrivener has. Another great writing tool I have used is yWriter.
yWriter: A great Scrivener alternative that’s free to use
For those of you who are looking for a free book writing app, yWriter is a great choice. It is writing tool created mainly for novelists. I was really impressed with some of its features.
Whether you are writing a scene or just outlining a character, yWriter software gives you the ability to add notes. That’s a huge benefit (especially if you on a complex project) that will help you stay on top of things.
yWriter focusses on scenes and this can help you stay focused and on track if you are a fiction writer. Once you have a written your scenes, you can quickly organize them into a novel format. yWriter writing app is currently available for Windows, Android and IOS. If you have a Mac, you have some great writing apps available like the IA Writer and Ulysses.
Ulysses Writing App – A great writing software for Mac users
Ulysses is feature-rich book writing app that focuses on simplicity and practicality. It is available for Mac users. It’s a great writing software and what I really like about it is its core design philosophy. It has markup-based text editing features. You can increase your productivity using its keyboard shortcuts.
It also has a library feature to help you organize your notes. This is a great feature that will help you if you sometimes find it difficult to keep all of your notes and ideas for your book organized.
Some of the other cool features include ability to set your goals for writing and also to publish directly to other platforms like WordPress. It is also available for mobiles and tablets. A great writing app to use for both small projects like writing your blog content or larger ones like writing a book.
IA Writer book writing app
If you frequently tend to get sidetracked by distractions, IA Writer is a writing app that you should consider. It’s great for small blog posts and articles. You could call it a Scrivener for small projects.
IA Writer is available for Mac, iPhone and iPad. It has a cool feature called Focus mode that helps in distraction-free writing. It enables you to fade out all parts of the document other than the line you are typing. So, you can focus on the highlighted line in full screen mode and shut off all other distractions. It’s simple, easy-to-use and you can quickly sync your project across all my devices.
Final Draft writing app
Final Draft is the best screenwriting app out there. It is used by more than 90% of scriptwriters. It helps paginate your script to the correct industry format. So, if you are using another book writing app like the Scrivener, you can easily export your project to Final Draft to format it for for submission or production So, whether you are writing a screenplay or writing a comic book, Final Draft can help make it easy for you with its more than 300 templates.
Book Editing Apps
So now you have a fair bit of idea on what book writing app is best for your specific needs. Once you have written your draft, the next step is to edit it and check for errors. Here are 2 great book editing apps that can take the pain out of the editing process.
Grammarly – The best software to edit your book
Grammarly is a great web-based application that has a comprehensive grammar and spell-checking system. So, you can check for typos, spelling mistakes or grammar mistakes with ease. If you pick up the premium version of Grammarly, it can even help in improving your writing skills. Grammarly helps you by giving you editing suggestions. With Grammarly, you can write without constantly worrying about whether you have used too many long sentences, or you are overusing passive voice in your book.
Hemingway Editor App – Another great editing app
Hemingway Editor is a superb tool for writers to improve their writing and self-editing skills. All you have to do is, simply paste what you have written into the Hemingway editor and scroll through.
The application will highlight words & passages that can be improved and provide its suggestions. For example, it might suggest that you reframe a particular sentence from passive to active voice or shorten long, hard-to-read sentences.
It will also suggest alternatives to words or phrases to improve readability.
One thing I liked about the Hemingway editor is that it can help you reduce your word-count while keeping the core idea intact.
The book writing apps that I spoke about here are all great tools that will help you enhance your writing skills and improve your productivity. Writing a book involves a lot more than picking the right book writing app. While a good writing software can definitely make your easier, if you want to succeed as a writer, you need to master your craft and keep writing. http://bookwritingapps.com/

Not all websites are complex or have a great deal of content to read. If your company has a clear and concise amount of content to submit, and there is no need to divide this content across multiple pages, a one-page site is often a great answer.
One page sites supply succinct information about a company without the need for multiple page headers. Although they look simple, they have to be exceptionally well designed. This is because your client has only a single chance to grab (and retain) the reader’s attention.
A one-page site would need every aspect of information added to the site to be relevant as well as visually pleasing. Designing a one-page site th, therefore, kes careful care and consideration. It must have the impact of a larger site while remaining precise.

Fashion websites
Fashion seeks out new trends to share with the rest of the world. From retro inspired designs to minimalist styling, there is always a new aesthetic to develop and display. Websites follow similar trends and designs, so when fashion and web design combine, the result is striking.
Each fashion company will have its own unique designs or characteristics which define the brand. From sustainable fashion which is free flowing and easy to sleek and fitted designs, each brand will develop a signature.
However, there are many common elements which can be found in fashion websites. Most fashion sites are highly visual, for example, drawing on imagery to showcase its designs. Photography is stunning, and many sites will use videos to portray a message. These images allow the products to speak for themselves.
Modern, playful brands often use colourful images, while classic fashion houses often use black and white photography to show an air of sophistication.
A fashion website aims to keep the viewer engaged for long enough to display the season’s latest goods. Effective designs are therefore captivating. We have put together a collection of striking fashion websites which will inspire you to create your own stunning designs.

Amazon.com Success Story: Just How One Guy Developed a $10k Each Month Amazon FBA Business in Less Compared To 4 Months
Brand name restrictions. Greater marketing costs. And also FBA frustrations that appear to increase over night.
When you concentrate on all of these things, the future of selling on Amazon could look pretty grim. Is it even possible to be effective at retail arbitrage anymore? Possibly you're thinking:
Sure, sellers who've remained in the ready a while succeed! They entered very early as well as have an advantage over newbies like me. Why even bother anymore?
I have actually heard your anxieties. I have actually seen your aggravations. I recognize it's hard to envision you could start a successful Amazon.com company when facing every one of these barriers.
I'll admit, brand name restrictions also had me flustered. However it is greater than possible to climb above these obstacles as well as produce the lifestyle and also earnings you desire with Amazon.com.
I am so thrilled you're here today due to the fact that I have a killer Amazon.com success tale to show to you!
Marvin started his FBA trip just five months back. Regardless of a rough begin, he has transformed his family members's life in such a short time. He offered a lot important insight as well as advice in his meeting (so if you have not currently, you definitely wish to offer it a pay attention.).
In this article, I'm mosting likely to dive deeper right into his success techniques with some actionable ideas as well as methods you could make use of in your very own FBA service.
Right here's just what I'll cover today:.
Exactly how Marvin began his Amazon.com business and also saw large development in a brief period of time. (Looter alert: He really did not invest a lots of loan into stock either!). His distinct approach that makes sourcing trips much more successful.
Plus I have a totally free pre-formatted inventory spread sheet to provide you a side in your service.
Whether you have actually been in the ready some time or you're brand-new to marketing on Amazon.com this blog post will show you exactly what is possible, and also offer practical recommendations to assist set you up for success on Amazon.com.
( If you're brand-new to this or unsure about just how retail arbitrage jobs, click on this link if you intend to find out more concerning marketing on Amazon.com FBA.).
Exactly How Marvin Turned $500 right into $10,000 in Less Compared To 4 Months.
From the outdoors searching in, Marvin was honored.
He had an excellent task. His household wanted for nothing. However still, deep down, something was off.
The concept of functioning a 9-5 work up until he was 65 had not been something he intended to do. So he started looking for means to run away the system and also supplement his earnings without including a massive workload to his currently busy timetable.
Marvin desired his better half to be able to stay home with their youngsters without fretting about income. He also dabbled with blogging and also marketing a monetary newsletter. He had success keeping that, but something still felt off. He desired a more passive income that didn't require as much client service.
When he discovered The Offering Family members's courses, he recognized it was worth a shot.
He purchased the program in January, and even though the material was so basic and also uncomplicated. He really did not have much luck the first time he went to the store with his scanning app. He invested virtually 3 hrs looking for inventory as well as didn't discover a single InstaZon Review point.
From there, points got a whole lot more difficult prior to they obtained any better.
Just a couple months after retiring, Marvin's daddy passed away. No person saw it coming, and for Marvin, it was a huge wake-up phone call.
We are taught to function a work whether we like it or not till we're in our 60's. After we get to that "magic age," after that we reach appreciate our lives as well as loved ones.
But is that the only alternative we have?
Is it feasible there's a means to earn loan, as well as reach appreciate our lives now?
After losing his papa and also inviting his third kid into the world not long after. Marvin set out making his Amazon.com company job so he could live life to the max with his spouse and kids.
So in the center of March, Marvin put his head down as well as rushed. He was just wanting to add $500-$ 1,000 additional every month. He never imagined the possibilities that would certainly open to him in such a brief time.
Sourcing was tough, but Marvin developed a distinct method that made growing his service a whole lot easier.
He began with $500 to invest in inventory. With some perseverance and also the techniques I'll detail in this article, in much less than 4 months, he saw that $500 skyrocket to $10,000 in sales monthly (as well as counting.).
Don't think me? Here is a screenshot of Marvin's current Amazon stats.
Take a look at his numbers for the last 30 days!
So how did he do it?
What is Marvin's trick to success?
In some cases You Have To Assume Smaller to Develop a Profitable Company.
Any kind of Amazon.com seller loves those large numbers.
Super low sales rank. Big fat ROI ... you chase them with an interest.
Yet Marvin had a various method.
You ready for his requirements?
Marvin has built his entire service on low ranking things with at the very least a $2.00 revenue, and also 20% ROI. He didn't lose time chasing large numbers when there were things on the self he can turn around fast at lower margins.
That might seem like a waste of time, yet with a background in financing, Marvin could not pass it up. He seeks products that market within Thirty Days. He passes on a bigger quantity of lower margin things to put money in the bank quick.
As a result of the nature of the monster, I believe it's easy to obtain a little ruined when you're doing retail arbitrage for FBA. If you could locate a good amount of 50% -100% ROI products, have at it! Yet the fact is, it could be a lot more challenging to locate those type of returns constantly.
Consider it this way ...
If you are unfamiliar with the stock market, individuals that see a 10% return throughout a year are obtaining a good deal.
Yet when you can pass on your financial investment in Thirty Days or less, you will certainly build a trustworthy organisation that continually grows 20% or more each month. Certain, most of us love to see 75% -100%+ returns, but also for a great deal of individuals, it's difficult to replicate those numbers frequently. Products with reduced margins are simpler to locate, are probably to be found at regular price in stores, and you could usually find them in greater amounts.
So you could reduce your requirements for inventory, and also still see the success you're seeking on Amazon.com.
Amazon.com just got in the trillion dollars club, and it's all set to become the globe's greatest company defeating Apple any day currently, yet the question is, what does it cost? are you making off it?
You see, Amazon is not simply any corp. It's organisation model is all about making revenues by helping individuals like you make profits.
Yes, you can make from Amazon's success, and make yourself wealthier alongside Bezos.
Just how?
Method # 1: Sell on Amazon Technique # 2: Market Amazon.com's products
Over 2 million people are doing simply that, and also over 40% of overall sales on Amazon.com is driven by doing this. Do you recognize exactly what this indicates? A great deal of people are gaining a great deal of loan.

Dani stepped through the passageway—and started backwards, with a stifled shriek.
An enormous dark man loomed in the shadows. Huge. Buzzed dark hair, vast shoulders, all bulked up with black body armor like a commando.
His eyes gleamed in the darkness with terrifying intensity. “Don’t scream.” His voice was deep, hoarse and scratchy. “I won’t hurt you.” He made a shushing gesture with his hands.
“Who the fuck are you?” Dani’s back thudded against the wall. “What are you doing here in my house?”
“We need to talk.” His voice was very calm. “Quietly.”
“About what?” Her voice shook.
“Shhh. Keep it down. About Naldo.”
She went nuts, writhing in his grip. “It was you!” she hissed. “You hurt Naldo!”
“No!” He whispered the words urgently into her ear. “No, no, no. That wasn’t me.”
She fought him, but there was an uncanny quality to his implacable grip. A sinking-into-quicksand feeling, as if he was using her own energy and the harder she fought, the tighter he held her.
He wound her into a shaking. Her legs were trapped between his rock-solid thighs. She strained against him, fear rising to a screaming pitch. “What the fuck do you want from me?”
“For you to listen.” The vibration of his deep, quiet voice against her ear sent racking shivers through her.
She swallowed to calm the shaking. “Fine,” she said. “Talk. Make it snappy.”
“Don’t be afraid,” he urged.
Dani let out a bark of incredulous laughter. “Hah! For real?”
“I won’t hurt you, Dani. I swear it.”
She squeezed her eyes shut and just tried not to hyperventilate. “Then why not come to the goddamned door like a normal person if all you want to do is to talk?”
“It hasn’t been a normal day. You never would’ve let me in.”
“Right! Let go of me! Asshole!”
“Shhh,” he whispered again. “I came in to warn you that you’re in danger.”
She twisted in his grip, just enough to catch the flash of his dark gaze.
“Oh really.” Her voice dripped sarcasm. “Am I. Now there’s a news flash.”
“Not from me,” he said impatiently. “From the people who hurt Naldo.”
“What do you know about Naldo? Who hurt him?” She turned to study his face again. “Wait. I saw you earlier,” she said slowly. “You were in the ER. Wearing a lab coat.”
“Yeah, that was me,” he admitted.
“I thought you were a new resident, maybe starting an ER rotation.”
“Nope, not a doctor. I was there to protect you,” he told her. “I’m here now for the same reason.”
“I didn’t ask for your protection,” she replied savagely. “Whoever the hell you are!”
“Getting around to that. Now listen. Naldo had a—” His body went still. “Shhhhh.”
She froze too, waiting. Listening. “What in the hell is going on?”
“They’re moving in on us.” He breathed the words out almost soundlessly. “Don’t make a sound.”
It was too damn much. She yanked one of her arms almost free. “The only problem I have right now is you! Let … me … go!”
His hand clamped over her mouth. She pulled back and bit his hand, hard. He pulled his hand free with a hiss of pain, and she started to screech.
In a blinding instant, she was clamped against his body so tight she could hardly breathe.
He hoisted her off her feet. Kicked open the door to the laundry closet. Hauled her inside.
And there she was, in the darkness in her clutter of brooms, buckets and mops, jammed in between her ironing board and her washing machine with a huge, mysterious, terrifying man.
So close, he was practically plastered to her body.

About Shannon McKenna:
Shannon McKenna is the NYT bestselling author of seventeen action packed, turbocharged romantic thrillers, among which are the stories of the wildly popular McCloud series and the brand new romantic suspense series, The Obsidian Files. She loves tough and heroic alpha males, heroines with the brains and guts to match them, villains who challenge them to their utmost, adventure, scorching sensuality, and most of all, the redemptive power of true love. Since she was small she has loved abandoning herself to the magic of a good book, and her fond childhood fantasy was that writing would be just like that, but with the added benefit of being able to take credit for the story at the end. Alas, the alchemy of writing turned out to be messier than she'd ever dreamed. But what the hell, she loves it anyway, and hopes that readers enjoy the results of her alchemical experiments. She loves to hear from her readers.

RenderGarden accelerates After Effects renders
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: After Effects renders are slow. Complex shots progress sluggishly, so you open up Activity Monitor or Task Manager (ya nerd) and stare at CPU levels flying at half-mast. It makes the days longer and the deadlines tighter, and you just know there has to be another option.
RenderGarden, from Mekajiki, may now be the most direct way to peg those processors and get that fan blasting at render time for small studios. Its capabilities are closer to an actual render farm than the popular BG Renderer Pro. Unlike a render farm, this is software you can quickly install and run yourself, locally or on a network.
It’s a garden, not a farm, get it? A “farm” needs staff, dedicated equipment, significant budget and can even require ongoing maintenance. For a “garden” you just need some seeds and a place to plant them where they’ll grow. RenderGarden costs $99 and installs a script and a set of modest utility applications. Actual gardens with plants and soil can cost more than this.
How it works
If you’ve ever used either network rendering software such as Pixar’s Tractor, or even the aforementioned BG Renderer, you’ve made use of aerender. This is Adobe’s command-line executable that sits next to the After Effects application on your system. It runs in a text shell using custom commands that manage a headless version of the Render Queue.
RenderGarden also relies on aerender, with a couple of key extra ingredients, beginning with the RenderGarden script panel. With an item in the Render Queue, open the panel and click “Plant the Seeds!” and the render begins. A “Seed” is a portion of the Render Queue item; the default value of 3 seeds divides the item into 3 separate sections to run as an individual process. If you set this to 1, you replicate what BG Renderer does—run a single background render process of an entire queued item.
You can simply click Plant the Seeds! to kick off a RenderGarden background render, or you can first specify how many Seeds (sections) you want the render to be divided into.
At this point (since you’ve set up two free third-party utilities, Python and FFmpeg, as instructed) a second window pops up allowing you to specify a number of Gardeners (CPU processes) to launch. This defaults to 2, which is a good place to start and evaluate whether more CPU, memory and disk I/O is available. A set of green-colored Terminal windows (get it?) open and begin to display frame-by-frame render progress.
Best practices
On a single system, the number of Gardeners (processors)should be 50-75% of the processor cores on your system. “Virtual” cores don’t count. On, say, a laptop with 8 virtual cores but 4 physical processor cores, you might choose 3 Seeds and 3 Gardeners.
Once each process completes, FFmpeg stitches the result into the output format of your choice. That way, you can choose any moving image format available in After Effects, not just image sequences. This runs as an additional terminal process, and the intermediate files remain cached in the Seed Bank. This all can be located wherever you choose, and can be emptied out from time to time like a cache folder.
As long as those shell windows that ran aerender stay open, they keep looking for new seeds to appear in the same directory.
One more thing
The initial intention for RenderGarden was simply to max out the processors on a single system. But leave those shell windows running, plant Seeds on a network drive, and you have passive network rendering. An application called Gardener included with the install can be run anywhere, even with a render-only version of After Effects.
So if you have 2 or more systems around, you can choose a network directory (identical file path from all locations), point Gardener at it, and leave it running to pick up jobs as they occur. You can’t manage it from some central panel like on a real render farm; you need to fire it up (or kill it) on the individual system. But it will stay running open-endedly in the background until either something crashes or you close it down.
Not a farm
If your studio has idle machines, you can leave RenderGarden running on them and experience startling render times. Obviously if these were actual render farm machines, you would simply let the farm manage After Effects. But how many of us have a couple systems each, not to mention open desks even in a small studio?
Just like with a render farm, jobs will fail at every stage of the render process. You can kill an unwanted or stuck job using Kill Renders, which is also installed with RenderGarden. This halts each render in progress but leaves the terminal shells running to pick up more jobs. You can also use Gardener re-queue a segment instead of restarting the whole job.
The system for identifying the status of render segments is one of the most elegant hacks in operation here. Placeholder files for each seed contain JSON data including terminal commands, and the filenames begin with an alphanumeric status identifier. This could be “ready_”, “rendering_” or “complete_” depending on its current state, and changes as soon as that job picks up or completes.
RenderGarden makes use of its own directories to write temporary render projects and interim moving image files. The queue is tracked using alphanumeric file names that may begin “complete_” or “rendering_” or “ready_”.
Sometimes a hack can be your best friend
To call RenderGarden a hack, however, kinda misses the point (unless the term is meant to be complementary). RenderGarden effectively and dramatically increases render power on modern systems and networks without the “drama” of extra system administration. Plus, all remote rendering systems rely on aerender, which itself is something of a hack.
Were it not for the current limitations of After Effects itself however, there might be no need for the extra hack. Despite efforts to modernize it section by section, the 25-year-old application lacks anything like comprehensive multithreading. The last attempt at a multiprocessing feature within the application itself was removed because it reduced stability while failing overall to reduce render times.
RenderGarden isn’t a feature that Adobe itself would ever ship with After Effects. This toolset cleverly fills a need with a very low commitment of resources. It should appeal to anyone with ample motion graphics work and underutilized processing power. It can easily cut render times in half, or better. A one-week trial allows you to evaluate and justify the $99 investment for your own studio.
Mekajiki, developer of RenderGarden, is run by Matt Silverman, Brendan Bolles, and Brandon Smith, all longtime pals and colleagues of the author.

Why Live Video is a Must and How to Get Started
Why Live Video is a Must and How to Get Started
Why Live Video is a Must and How to Get Started written by John Jantsch read more at Duct Tape Marketing
If your newsfeed looks like mine these days, then you’ve likely seen live videos showing up more and more. Live video is all the rage these days, and guess what, it’s here to stay.
People love live video. You can almost guarantee views on this type of content no matter what it is that you’re recording. My buddy, Joel Comm, once live-streamed himself frying bacon, something seemingly mundane…and it received thousands of views!
But here’s the thing, even though most live video will receive some sort of attention, to truly get the most out of it for your business, you must follow best practices and ensure it falls in line with your overall marketing strategy and business goals.
Why You Need to Use Live Video
Did you know that people spend more time watching live videos than pre-recorded videos? How about these stats compiled by Livestream and New York Magazine?
80% of adults prefer to watch live video from a brand than read a blog post
82% of the adults surveyed prefer live video from a brand over social media posts
So, why is live video so enticing for businesses to pursue? Here are a few of the many benefits:
It’s extremely interactive and engaging – While you’re live streaming people are able to “like” and comment on your video, which you can see in real time. This can help you gauge which topics generate the most response. Additionally, you are able to talk to your followers in real time and answer questions on the spot, which will help you personalize the broadcast for viewers and establish a connection with them,
Build’s relationships – That connection that you can establish with your audience is key. The more a person feels an emotional or personal connection with your business, the more likely they’ll be to trust you and eventually become customers.
Live video can come in really handy for:
Q&As – These formats are great for driving high levels of traffic and engagement.
Interviews – Let people experience these interactions live and be there in the moment with you (this is especially valuable if your interviewee is someone of interest and value to your audience)
Training – Have a how-to that’s easier to show than explain? Use live video to teach!
Company announcements or breaking news – Instead of using a press release or other written content to let your audience know about something big going on with your company, use live video! This will allow them to see your emotional response and just how big the news is, which will make them more invested in the announcement.
Showing behind-the-scenes – People love getting the inside scoop, and giving that to them provides a more personalized connection.
Provide insight into live events – Many times people want to go to events but simply can’t attend due to various circumstances. If you’re attending, give your live video audience a peek at what’s going on at the event to make them feel like they’re there.
Live Video Best Practices
In the same survey mentioned earlier in this post, they found that 67% of viewers say quality is the most important factor when watching live video. To get this quality, be sure to apply the recommendations below.
Focus your time and effort on one or two of the live streaming platforms. This will prevent you from spreading yourself too thin.
Practice makes perfect. Let’s be honest, your first go at this may not be a slam dunk, but that’s OK! The more you did it, the more comfortable you’ll get with your style and presentation (not to mention your comfort level with all the settings and visual add-ons that can come along with it).
Keep your notes nearby. Before you start your live video, you should have an outline in your head of the direction you’d like to take it and the objectives you’d like to achieve. I find it helpful to keep notes nearby. These shouldn’t be read into the camera, but they can come in handy if you need a quick reminder of the topics you’d like to cover and should be used to quickly refer to (but again, they should NOT be used as a script).
Be authentic. Let people see the human side of you and your business. If you mess up, no biggy! Acknowledge it, laugh it off, and keep going. For example, while a quiet setting is ideal and most professional, if a car happens to honk in the background or a phone rings, don’t give it a second thought. This is a live video and things will happen. People will understand, so as long as you don’t make any bloopers a big deal, they won’t either.
Use tactics to engage your audience. To further increase the amount of views for a video, use a captivating headline and enticing description.
Share the video. Once your video is complete, you should have the option to post the recording, which I highly recommend to increase views and engagement.
Respond to comments. If a person thinks their comments will be addressed, they’ll be more likely to stay tuned into the video longer (plus it’ll make them feel special if you give a shoutout or response live, furthering your connection with them).
Platforms to consider
There are numerous platforms out there that you can use, including:
Facebook Live (currently leading the pack for most live video watchers)
Livestream
Instagram
Twitter
YouTube
Periscope
And also check out tools that are cropping up to help make the most of these platforms. I like belive.tv as you can use it to do interview style live shows with a guest.
No matter which platform you decide to use, the tips above apply across the board. Do your research to identify a platform that will work best for your business.
If you’re having trouble brainstorming ways to fit this into your content mix, keep in mind that you don’t need to always reinvent the wheel. You can repurpose content! For example, you can take a blog post that received a lot of traffic, or was great for generating leads, and turn it into a video. You’ll be able to convert it into an extremely engaging piece of content while potentially reaching a new audience (not everybody will take the time to sit down and read a full blog post, but it seems people will take the time to watch live video).
At the end of the day, live video allows viewers to connect with your brand in ways that other types of content can’t. So, if you haven’t started to experiment with it yet, it’s time you start.
Is your business using live video? What tips would you add to my notes above?
