Okay so I know I sent a friend an ask about this but I don't think I made an ACTUAL post about it.
So school started the 15th. We have A day and B. A day is the first 4 classes and B day is the other 4 and in total we have 8 classes.
In all I have Spanish 2, US History, Economic Fine Literature, Research 3 (virtual class shit), Psych 1, Math College Algebra, Per Car whatever the fuck it is, and English 4.
Spanish 2, USH, Econ Fin Lit, and Research 3 are A day and Psych 1, Math Coll Alg, Per Car Sch, and Eng 4 are B day.
Well! English 4 is amazing rn because we were doing this introduction thing, originally the activity was to partner with someone and your partner introduces you, you introduce your partner. Except me and 1 other girl did it alone.
Well! As most of you SHOULD know, I'm learning 6 languages. Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Chinese, and Icelandic with Icelandic being on hold as it isn't on Duolingo rn.
Well... at one point we get to this boy... and his partner introduces him...
He also has this nice ass forest tattoo on his arm- and he's cute- anyways-
His partner says... he's from Sweden
And then I hear him speak English
AND THEN I HEAR HIM SPEAK IN SWEDISH- I heard I think 'I' but he went too fast for me to actually catch shit- but he translated it saying "I speak Swedish and English" or something..
And he even has a whole ass accent bRO-
His mom is from France so he also speaks fluent French iirc, and his dad is from somewhere in Russia from what I remember.
Well we did this Bingo thing, you get a name for each square on who has what or has done something. For instance "speaks at least 2 languages", and we had 2 technically 3 who could speak at least 2 languages. We had the boy who speaks Swedish and English, a boy who speaks English and Spanish (idk which is first language is), and then everyone counted me for learning 6 languages.
Well! I went up to the boy for him to put his name one one of the squares (he chose 'has been to or lived in another country') and while he was putting his name on mine and I was doing his, he asks "So you're learning Swedish?" With a smile and I said "Yeah! But I can only make one sentence and it's about my cat..." so he asked me to say it! And I did! "Min katt, Felippe, är grå och vitt. Jag älskar han." And he said I said it correctly, he heard me start the last part of the sentence and even said it with me, helping me with the 'han' vs 'hon' because I always forget which is 'him' and which is 'her' lmao-
And I also figured out YESTERDAY that he's also in my Spanish 2!
I wanna talk to him more cuz I talked to him quite a bit on the first day if B day, asking him questions about Sweden, I even asked if it stays daylight during certain times of the year (it does.. I was right-) but... kinda afraid to- why? No fucking clue- thats me for ya.
I wanna ask him if he can help me with learning Swedish cuz I'm not gonna get better without practicing speaking to native speakers... plus I need help how how the fuck to say "turtle" and "spoon" BECAUSE HOLY SHIT THOSE WORDS SCARE ME IN SWEDISH HELP-
I wanna ask but I don't wanna seem weird or stupid or something because like... no one at this school knows me so that means so far they don't hate me or think I'm weird... yet... and I don't want that to start any time soon...

So Gmm "j'en ai marre" doesn't mean "I'm freaking bored" 🤦🏻‍♀️ please make an effort a little maybe ?
It means "I'm so done" or "I can't stand it anymore" in a rude way. It still works in the scene but put the right translation in the eng subs please 🥲
"I'm freaking bored" can be said like "Je me fais [grave] chier !" But it sound weird in French like we wouldn't say that to ourselves. Or use the slang "Je suis au BDR" but it still feels weird to write down this slang...
I guess I would write the slang "JPP" if I were Théo 🤔 which stands for "J'en peux plus". But then a non-french speaker wouldn't understand so I guess that's why they couldn't put that.
But I noted that the actor saying "je m'appelle Phupha" had a very good prononciation ! But I'm scared, we didn't see the actor playing Théo speaking french when he is supposed to be fluent right ? I'm scared.
PS: why the [Enchante'] ?! Why is the accent running away from the e ?! 😭 what did you do to him?

Hi! What about tfp cons (but u can choose another universe) with hum fem S/O whose native language is not English? At one point in an emotional situation she simply jumps from eng, which she speaks fluently, to her native contrasting language (for example, I'm rus speaking). What is reaction of 'cons? Will they interested and switch to her native language? Will this have any effect on their communication in the future?
This is a super cool ask!
I did a wheel picker since I only do 3 characters at submission so I’ll write a list for TFP Dreadwing, Knockout, and Starscream.
TFP Dreadwing
Confusion is going to be his honest reaction at the emotional switch because as far as he was aware S/O was only an English speaker.
Both had just been using English as the default up until now
He has questions on why they learned another language and it kinda leads him down a rabbit hole of all of the different human languages as a result.
He likes learning about all of them as a hobby
He picks up on S/O’s language easily enough and uses that as a default when with them.
Dreadwing only uses their native language with them as a way of expressing love like ‘these are your roots that you came from and I find them as pretty as you are’
It's also great because it's like a way for them to have private conversations that no one Soundwave can understand
TFP Knockout
He probably knew from the mumbled curses they’d throw in his direction from time to time but the real confirmation was in a moment of frustrated desperation at a predicament they were both in.
Kinda shocked given the circumstances but uses a translator software to interpret them better while he attempts to keep them calm with English.
After that, he proceeds to learn their native language through them because of the quality time, and as he puts it “Better to learn from a Master than an app. And I deserve only the best in life.”
Once he’s got the language down he likes to toss insults at the Cons and talk shit in the language.
Never fails to make his S/O laugh at his pronunciations of words and antics
Plus the couple likes to swap secrets in the language and words of adoration
TFP Starscream
A real piece of work because he honestly thought English was the entire language of Earth. He has no real justification because other than his S/O he has no interest in Earth.
So when the anger from one of their arguments on Cybertronians vs Humans finally reaches the emotional breaking point for S/O it's their native language in rage mode
Starscream honestly thinks that he’s being cursed and he’s more afraid by the display of emotion than the actual meaning.
After everyone has calmed themselves down he hesitantly asks what exactly happened during the fight and S/O just gives him a blank look before realizing what he means and explains that they are bilingual and they were speaking their native language
Starscream picks it up from them and he’s the kind of person to learn a few key phrases and words than think of himself as a master
He eventually does become fluent though and eventually, that's all S/O and himself talk to each other in because it's like only you and him existing in the world

So I just downloaded the Japanese version of IkeVamp, and I'm currently on Shakespeare's route, and I was curious if you jad any suggestions on who's route I should play so I can put them on my list. I have Arthur, Vlad, and Comte on my list ^^
Hm! Well, to be clear, I just use a translation app to bumble around on the jp and kr versions, so I'm not fluent and can't really say I've read the unreleased routes (just summaries!)
From what I understand, Vlad and Comte's routes have more '''lore'''? In the sense that some questions get answered I think.
It might just depend on what character you're into! It sounds like Vlad's is interesting imo, but I haven't looked too far into it since I wanna be a lil surprised when he comes to eng. (Plus his va sounds good 😊)
Maybe some folks who have played the routes in jp/looked more into them could reblog/reply with their suggestions? (If you guys want!)

THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS IM LEARNING JAPANESE!!!
So much of the media I enjoy is either Japanese or has a large Japanese-speaking audience
Hell, my three biggest special interests got massive Japanese communities! So learning Japanese has been a way to enjoy more content from them and talk a bit easier with other fans!
Plus Japanese is just a really fun language to learn in my experience just the characters are super fun to write and memorize, the grammar just kinda clicks in my brain, and also the actual speaking part of it is just really fun to me
I've been watching hollow knight speed runs where the dialogue's set to Japanese(text moves faster I think for it), Trying to translate Vocaloid songs from jap to eng and eng to jap, and reading so many things about splatoon and the changes that were made from Japanese, It's mad learning so much more fun for me!!! I've tried learning multiple languages (Spanish, Luxembourgish, German, French, Latin) and none of them ever stuck in my brain longer than a month or two, but learning Japanese has actually made me feel like im doing something right in my life rather than just sitting around doing nothing but art. I'm so happy I started learning and I can't wait to im fluent in it someday!
US-centrism is such a large issue on the Internet, especially fandom, and people have joked about us all starting to speak in our language exclusively to force everyone else to translate.
But while that is obviously not going to work, what will work is if we make fandom accessible in other languages.
I am begging all fans to join communities and create in your native languages!
Translate canon and fanon content you enjoy!! Make comics, videos, fanfics, everything you are already good at in your language! If you are a lurker, seek out websites, forums, servers, other people who may post in English but have their language or nationality in their bio! Start talking to them!
I promise, a lot of bigger languages already have their sites and communities you can and should join! Dust off that Russian fanfic website account, find the forum for translating your favorite indie game in Chinese, join a server for Spanish fans of a show, and if you can't find it, make it.
And remember that most social media allow you to post in any language you want. You can post fanfics in any language on Ao3. They do not have to be mainly English-speaking sites.
If you already put in effort and love into your fandom, if you already create self-indulgent content, this is a great and helpful activity you can do.

Hi! Thank you for subbing those videos! I'm subscribed to both of your channels on YouTube, and now I follow you here on Tumblr! I was wondering a couple of things... 1. Would you be able to sub any "My Hero Academia" events? I know Yuki Kaji is in the show, but he isn't always at all the events. 2. Which other seiyuu do you like? 3. Is there any way that people like me (who aren't fluent in Japanese) can help? (preferably not money-wise because I'm broke)
Hey there! Thanks for dropping by! Heads up: I can be pretty long-winded when I start talking so don’t worry about reading everything if you can’t be bothered to 😂
1. As far as I’m concerned, there haven’t been any HeroAca events recorded in a DVD, but if you’re referring to the Live Broadcasts (NICO/LINE) and radio episodes, I’ve only listened to the 2 radio episodes (in which Kaji went as guest), plus some random episodes to hear the backstory of those really good episodes in the anime, and also the LINE LIVE broadcast (Todoroki: Origin - Before and After Cast Talk). To be honest, although I would love to sub all of them, unfortunately because I’m still a high school exam student, it can be pretty hard to make the time for it 😓 (I pray every day to become more efficient) But if there’s a specific cut you would like to share I’d be more than happy to work on it!
2. Although this may not sound convincing if you’ve seen my channel‘s bias towards Kaji 😅 but I actually like and respect a lot of seiyuus. I usually get attracted to a seiyuu for either of the three following qualities: voice acting, voice, or personality. In terms of voice acting, it’s simply if their acting had left an impression on me. An example of a seiyuu that I like purely for her acting is Hayami Saori. She’s the second name I search up for after Kaji when choosing seasonal animes to watch. I could go on forever but to sum up why - it’s because I love her screams. Next, when it comes to voice, it’s pretty straightforward, just whoever’s voice sounds pleasant. In this case I’m referring to those whose acting doesn’t necessarily have to be good, but I‘d still love to listen to their voices just for the sound of it. A few who fall under this category are Kamiya Hiroshi, Sawashiro Miyuki and Natsuki Hanae. Don’t get me wrong, I love their acting, but my point is that I would listen to their voices regardlessly. Thirdly, it’s about their personality. Though it’s not my place to say this, there are some seiyuus whose neither voice nor voice acting ever struck me. If there’s any reason why I still appreciate them, it’s because I’ve heard how much effort and thoughts they’ve put into shaping their characters. But surely these people who’ve put in this much effort will be rewarded. An example is… though I don’t want to offend anyone, it’s Suzuki Tatsuhisa. Honestly I didn’t like quite a few of his portrayal, err… one I can recall on the top of my head is Mishima from Daiya no Ace, I won’t go too much into why I didn’t like his voice for Mishima, but I absolutely believe that he was the best fit for roles like Ban (Nanatsu no Taizai) and Hiroomi (Kyoukai no Kanata). Through the things he says in radios and events, you can really see that he watches his characters very closely and pays attention to the smallest things he can do for the best of his characters. I guess my point is that as long as a seiyuu loves and treats their characters well, even if their voice isn’t appealing to a certain viewer, their emotion will definitely be reflected in their portrayal which will naturally be conveyed to the viewers. And… it’s needless to say that there are plenty of seiyuus who have more than one of the three qualities, but basically Kaji is my favourite cause he happens to match what I was looking for in all three aspects. But I’m guessing that the reason why you’re asking this is because you want to know what kind of content I could be subbing? If that‘s the case I sincerely apologise for this long rant 😅 but I like any seiyuu that has some sort of relationship with Kaji. They could fall into any of the above categories, but I usually like to sub Kaji with either senpais who pamper/tease him (Miyano Mamoru/Kamiya Hiroshi/Ono Daisuke/Hayashibara Megumi/ Matsumoto Rica/Sakurai Takahiro/Fukuyama Jun/Suzuki Tatsuhisa), peers that he’s comfortable with (Terashima Takuma/Okamoto Nobuhiko/Maeno Tomoaki/Kimura Ryouhei/Yonaga Tsubasa/Sawashiro Miyuki/Inoue Marina/Takagaki Ayahi/Ono Yuuki/Nazuka Kaori), people he likes (Shimono Hiro/Hosoya Yoshimasa/Suzumura Kenichi/Morikubo Showtaro/Uchiyama Kouki), kouhais that look up to him/kouhais he dotes on (Shimazaki Nobunaga/Yamashita Daiki/Ishikawa Kaito/Kuno Misaki/Ogura Yui/Ishihara Kaori/Hanae Natsuki/Osaka Ryota) and I’m sure I’m still missing out on lots of names, but I also love (or want to see more of) his conversations with some of the people that showed signs of knowing him quite well but can still be pretty vague if they’re close to him (Nishiyama Koutarou/Kakihara Tetsuya/Uchida Maaya/Kayano Ai/Hanazawa Kana/Toyonaga Toshiyuki/Yuuki Aoi/Taketatsu Ayana/Yoshitsugu Matsuoka/Amamiya Sora/Sakura Ayane/Kobayashi Yusuke/Irino Miyu/Hayami Saori/Umehara Yuichiro/Tomatsu Haruka/Koshimizu Ami/Takahashi Rie/Ishikawa Yui). Erm.. the list could go on forever but I’ll stop here 😓
3. It could really be anything! My main reason for translating was just to share the love of seiyuus and to find more fellow overseas seiyuu fans. I don’t translate to take credit of the subbing so to be honest I don’t mind if people repost or reupload my subs so long as it exposes the awareness of seiyuus to a larger community in a positive way :))) I sincerely do believe that seiyuus deserve more recognition for the wonderful voices they bring to us after all. Other than that would be “monetary” but rather than for me, it would be great if we can all support the original event DVD sales (or even their photo books and radio DJCDs)! I just hope that one day they’ll make a contract with an official translating company to release the Eng subs officially. Oh right, we do have a seiyuu fansubbing group where quite a few of us seiyuu fansubbers gather together to plan for our translations. If you’d like to contribute I’m sure the group will be more than happy to welcome you! Check this link out for more details: http://seiyuufansubs.com/join-us/
Hope that answered your questions! P.S. Someone needs to teach me how to summarise (-.-;)…
