@michirukaiou words have different meanings in different cultures. Japanese Lolita fashion is very much a statement against the rigidity of femininity in Japan. The fashion isn’t going to change its name because some people across the ocean misuse the term. That’s kind of white privilege, sorry.

Hello, I just wanted to say that I find your blog very insightful. I'm half Lumbee (A North Carolinian tribe) and my entire mother's side belongs to this tribe. I wanted to thank you for reaching out to Mattel about Isi, and although she could have been presented better (Love the doll itself, clothes are meh), I'm happy that there was at least an attempt. While I of course can't speak for every tribe, I'm just pleased that there is another doll to represent my race. I hope they improve next time

Actually uh, they kinda did. When looking at the history of Lolita fashion, the term “Lolita” itself was not the be intended with the western connotation. Many actually believe it was because the term just sounded cute without knowing the meaning behind it. At least, that’s what I’ve garnered from following the fashion for a few years.

well SOMEONE had to know what it meant because its too suspicious. i’m not saying that most people who do lolita fashion as a hobby associate it with lolita the book im just fucking saying the name needs to be changed

I personally draw Ness a bit on the pudgy side, but no one's wrong for drawing him however they envision him. He's put in their shoes, and it's supposed to be an interpretation of their imagination. I think it's dumb how tumblr and it's SJW community has gotten a hold of this minuscule aspect and began to criticize others for now agreeing with them.

ness is the character we experience the story from but he is far from a blank slate that you imprint upon like link from the zelda series for example

ness has a developed character of his own with his own personal backstory and how a lot of people seem to ignore that very big fact is beyond me because playing through earthbound we learn his story throughout the game and the evidence saying hes a fat kid is right there with no wiggle room for interpretations about his weight present you see

and its the same thing for ninten and lucas literally none of the mother series protags are blank slates for us to imprint upon and theyre all developed

now i wouldnt call myself an sjw but i do believe in equality and social change but how that fact is relevant to the concept of ness being a chubby kid in canon and people like me saying "dont draw him skinny" is beyond me and i think its a really big stretch

if its a matter of someone not being able to draw fat people then theres two and only two options: learn or dont draw fat characters as skinny

theres no room for debate on this and its really simple
