Regioni Italiane: Nel 2015 venivano formalizzati i 17 Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile (in inglese “Sustainable Development Goals”, abbreviato semplicemente in SDGs,  dell’Agenda 2030 dell’ONU, sottoscritta il 25 settembre 2015 da 193 Paesi, Italia inclusa. L’agenda è formata da un insieme di 17 obiettivi e il  numero 11 è dedicato alle città e agli insediamenti umani sottolineando uno sviluppo sostenibile dei centri urbani da assumere nei prossimi decenni. L’obiettivo recita: “Rendere le città e gli insediamenti umani inclusivi, sicuri, duraturi e sostenibili”. Regioni italiane ed impatto ambientale L'agenda prevede di ridurre entro il 2030 l’impatto ambientale negativo delle città, considerando la qualità dell’aria, la gestione dei rifiuti urbani e soprattutto riducendo gli sprechi energetici e il capitale naturale.  Ad oggi tutti siamo chiamati a dare il nostro contributo, nessuno escluso: le associazioni ambientaliste, i cittadini, le pubbliche amministrazioni, le imprese,i  policy maker, ognuno per quella che può essere la propria parte. Tutti siamo coinvolti in questo Green Deal.  L'Italia è indietro nel percorso che mira allo sviluppo sostenibile e poiché molte politiche sono di competenza delle Regioni e delle Province autonome spetta anche a loro adottare i provvedimenti necessari per accelerare questo processo. Inoltre, l’Italia è caratterizzata da forti disuguaglianze territoriali che rendono molto complesso il percorso dell'Italia verso lo sviluppo sostenibile.  L’Alleanza italiana per lo sviluppo sostenibile (Asvis) ha pubblicato gli indicatori che mostrano il percorso di ogni regione e provincia autonoma verso gli Obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile dell'Agenda 2030. Dopo il Rapporto 2018 Asvis ha pubblicato l'analisi aggiornata al 2017 dell'evoluzione dei territori italiani rispetto al raggiungimento dei 17 Obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile dell'Agenda 2030.  Esiste ancora il divario tra Nord e Sud riguardante la sostenibilità? Il buon posizionamento delle regioni del Nord trae origine in buona parte dai comportamenti individuali nell'ambito della vita quotidiana e all’interno delle abitazioni. In particolar modo spicca l'indicatore sulle detrazioni fiscali riguardo la riqualificazione energetica degli edifici. Le regioni del Nord ricoprono le prime otto posizioni ( il Trentino sul podio, seguito da Friuli Venezia Giulia e dal Piemonte). Anche l'indicatore sui rifiuti vede al nord ottimi posizionamenti  nell'ambito della raccolta differenziata: primo il Veneto (62,6% di raccolta), secondo il Trentino (62,3%) e il Friuli (57,5) al terzo posto. Il settentrione si rivela virtuoso più o meno per tutti gli indicatori, tranne quello dell'agricoltura biologica, che vede la Lombardia agli ultimi posti, del turismo agricolo e del trasporto pubblico. In centro Italia spiccano invece i negozi biologici (Marche 1°, Umbria 2° e Toscana 3°). Nell'agricoltura biologica sono invece le regioni meridionali (Calabria, Basilicata, Sicilia e Puglia) a fare da padrone. Ci sono inoltre alcune regioni del Sud che riescono ad avere la meglio sul nord per la produzione di energia green. Anche la connettività digitale è un elemento da non trascurare per la sostenibilità aziendale, garantendo servizi al cittadino a distanza e che non contribuiscono ad ulteriori emissioni per spostamenti. Secondo i dati Istat l’accesso a Internet o fibra è pari al: - Nord: 82,6% - Centro: 81,8% - Sud: 84,8% - Isole: 73,4% Entrando nel merito del discorso energetico, a produrre la maggior parte dell'energia rinnovabile sono Valle d'Aosta, Trentino Alto Adige e Basilicata (rispettivamente 99,9%, 91,2% e 69,7% sulla produzione totale). Risultato positivo anche per l'Umbria (4° con il 55,5%).  Sul tema delle emissioni, invece, la regione più virtuosa è la Campania, seguita da Trentino Alto Adige, Lazio, Marche, Lombardia e Piemonte. La regione Lombardia (con oltre il 42%) e l’Emilia Romagna (con quasi il 36%) si classificano al primo e secondo posto per percentuale di rifiuti solidi urbani smaltiti in impianti che producono energia da rifiuti, seguite dalla Campania con il 28%. This is an interactive datasheet that shows the way famous creators would divide their time and what they did. The colors all have individual keys and when you hover your mouse over them a caption comes up and goes into further detail. 
The data was taken from a book called “Daily Rituals” by Mason Curry.
I like the simplicity of this visualization. It gets the point across quickly whilst maintaining a nice aesthetic. I am also a fan of the way the user is given the option to see more detail so that they are not initially overwhelmed.
It would be interesting to take this concept and bring it into a 3D space, making use of color, texture and size.

Exotic Project Management Software
Where does a typical software vendor come from? IT-companies from the USA, the UK, Canada, India and  Germany have a substantial representation in the market. However, in search for a suitable project management tool for instance one might bump into some extraordinary countries. Serbian business tool, software from Denmark, Latvian startup – these are the word combinations that rarely bother our hearing and even when they do chances are that you are not likely to put your faith in such vendors due various reasons like fear of a scam or general watchfulness towards something new and unfamiliar. Consequently, less popular IT-companies are compelled to come up with outstanding features to get their share of customers.  The purpose of this article is to illustrate what practical advantages some exotic software vendors have to offer by giving several concrete examples.
Podio is an all-inclusive project management and web collaboration tool from Denmark that supplies its users with an overwhelming amount of features: projects, tasks, milestones, calendar, meetings, discussions, file-sharing, email integration, reporting, budget control, CRM and many more. Mentioning a tool that it does not encompass is quite a challenge. However, that’s not the biggest advantage of Podio. Comprehensive functionality is undoubtedly a plus, but Podio goes even further and grants a full-scale mobile access to its services. Podio App Store offers hundreds of free applications for business that can be either obtained separately or in special packs depending on the functionality you need. The applications are available on Android and iPhone. Everything from business development and community management to human resources and marketing is at your disposal. Clear and reasonable pricing plans ($8 per an employee per month) is one more reason to pay attention to a vendor from Denmark. The company is  backed by the Nordic-based venture capital investor Sunstone Capital,  which makes it a trustworthy partner.
ActiveCollab is another full-fledged project management collaboration product. It was developed by a Serbian company named  A51 d.o.o.  The toolset of activeCollab has every right to be called outstanding. It includes all the necessary features to keep track of your projects, collaborate with your team and partners, save time as well as the ability to integrate the product with other services according to your specific needs. What makes activeCollab trustworthy and more functional at the same time is its deployment solution. The tool can be installed on your own server, thus it gives you more freedom than you get with SaaS solution e.g. you are not limited by the amount of users, projects or storage space for your documents. Availability of the source code of the product  is another factor that verifies the company’s status and its serious intentions to establish a long-term partnership with its customers.  ActiveCollab offers two types of perpetual licenses for $499 and $249 that differ in the amount of features supplied. A  free demo version is also available which makes Serbian product an attractive offer for modern businesses.
TeamLab ( http://www.teamlab.com/ ) is last but not least on our list (no pun intended). A promising Latvian startup also has something to brag about, namely online services for various businesses. Among those are project management, community building,  CRM, calendar, reports on user activity and workload, internal chat, wiki etc.  Just like its Serbian rival (or in this context soul mate) TeamLab developers decided to lay their cards on the table and provide access to its source code to promote openness and reliability. The product is also available in SaaS version for those who prefer ready-to-use services hosted by professionals. TeamLab’s gimmick is undoubtedly its document management feature. Presentations, images, spreadsheets can  be uploaded and added to a particular task or project. Users are enabled to create, share, import and what’s more important – edit documents online. The recent introduction of the first full-fledged HTML5-based word processor leaves no doubt that the company is planning to keep on developing in this realm. The only thing you are charged for is additional services that include either 20 or 50 GB of extra storage space and advanced files upload for $19 or $49 per month respectively.
To sum up, modern software market’s geography has expanded dramatically. With all due respect for software vendors who have already established a good reputation, sometimes developers from the countries that can be easily called dwarfs of the industry have a lot more to offer. It doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to shift our focus dramatically towards the newcomers of the market. Our goal as consumers is to take  into account as many options as possible no matter where they are from. This in turn will intensify market competition inevitably increasing the quality of the products represented. What can be more motivating than that?
