Beta Lotad

I figured I'd make models of some of the beta Pokémon from the teraleak since there are a lot of cute ones. First is beta Lotad! 🪷

Hell yeah animation!! I got little experience doing 2D animation already but 3D is a whole other beast oh my! No coat yet bc cloth simulation isn't looking very good and just keeping it a cone gives me a lot of awkward clipping, so I'll be using bones to animate that by hand.

I only started rigging the face afterwards which then resulted in some amazing expressions I never thought possible with such a limited face.

Look at that sassy mf! I love him so much!!

Beta Flabébé

I was going to stop with the five I'd made so far, but then the gen 6 leaks came out. When I saw this one, I knew I had to make it because it's so cute! 🌷

He is here!! The other brother! finally! I really just had to copy paste Emmet, turn the mouth from a smile to a frown and paint-bucket a bunch of dark blue onto the texture images.

The walk is individual, inspired by the way real life robots walk a little awkwardly and stiffly.

I also removed the physics out of the coat, but didn't give it bones yet. not sure how i'll give them the exact same bones there in the end. we'll see.

Till now they've been insane help with drawing the train bots in 2D. posing takes a little but that's nothing compared to the hours I've been sinking into geometry sketches
