Hi! Just ignore this if you like, I know it's not actually your job to explain this stuff, but you understand the current political shenanigans like 8000x better than I do so I thought I might as well ask. I live in a Tory safe seat. Like, the safest seat. Even with everything going on, all the polls still say the rat bastard, as he is known, stays in charge here. In a situation like that, where chances are the best anyone can do is make him think for a split second that maybe this time he won't get in (before he inevitably does) what do you think the best vote to cast is? Like, I want to vote for something, obviously, but I don't know if there's anyone I can vote for where it would even matter. Is my best bet to vote for whoever is most likely to come in second place, to try and close that gap; or whoever I think would actually make the best MP for the area; or whichever party I'm most on board with? (The last two aren't the same, unfortunately). Sorry for bothering you with this. You just seem smart and informed and I'm so overwhelmed with all this election stuff that I want to scream.

tbh i'm an advocate for voting for whoever best represents your views because i don't think holding your nose for someone you don't really agree with to try and game the (terrible) electoral system is how we get political change - parties just take it as a mandate to continue with whatever they were doing wrong, there's no incentive to do anything different.

my recommendation generally is to 1) look up the manifestos of the parties standing in your area (i believe there are websites where you can compare them on different issues if there's anything particularly important to you) and also 2) look up the profiles of you local candidates - some parties allow people with verrrry different views to stand. i think in your case it would just come down to whether you think it's more important to have a good local rep or someone pushing the best policies nationally. hope that's useful!

i have been asked to film a short video of my testimony of the book of mormon.

i want to know how it has impacted your life. the scripture within. what parts speak to you. why you consider it to be sacred scripture.

i don't know what i will do yet but i think i may speak on how it convinced me of continuing revelation, contains messages of liberation and is anti-wealth inequality, it gives solid spiritual advice in growing your faith in God (and has grown my faith and my relationship with my Creator), a focus on the Living Christ, and is spiritually empowering.

i'm going on too long because i started planning. but does anyone else want to join in and post theirs (not necessarily as a video but a text post. but use any medium you'd like.) on April 6th?
