Wanted to take a neat pic in my tent to celebrate me actually mingling after work but I sneezed mid pic LOL

Sparkstember Day 23: Two Hands, One Mouth (The Wedding Of Jacqueline Kennedy To Russell Mael)
Love this album... It's still pretty fresh to me since I only got round to it earlier this summer, so I'll just keep this one brief and say that:
1) This whole tour seems so magical and special and honestly everyone who got to see these shows has won at life by my standards
2) Love Ron's piano with this sort of echoing sound, it's so specific to Sparks. This whole thing is like the pure essence of their work. Ron's keyboard mastery, Russell's voice which you can hear so clearly, the emotional impact is at its highest maybe, all in all what else could you want. This is going to be my go-to wind-down / chillout / whatever else I should call it album I can already tell, it's actually already helped me with such thing before, so. The soothing power of Sparks is at its best here
3) We need more Sparks live albums.
Not rambling about my favs individually this time because it's songs we know and love from other places anyway. So, some of my biggest highlights are Metaphor, Sherlock Holmes (holy shitttttt), Good Morning, My Baby's Taking Me Home (<3 <3 <3), Singing In The Shower, Dick Around, The Rhythm Thief... and the titular track (its studio version is also just ✨️✨️✨️, peak!!)

idk whats a better situation for lord huron existing as a band in their own universe:
being some mysterious cosmic force/spirits that both metaphorically and literally haunt the Whispering Pines studio playing all these songs as a way of capturing/reliving the stories that created them for a reason we will never fully understand
Literally just being some random cover band

have i ever said how lovely it is to have an abundant amount of phrases from the cj songs. cmon now you can't say that automaton freak or cynical machine and tridential regicide or unsightly id or even just things like entropy or one plus one can't equal two is happiness is both our truths is not great or even stunning quotes / nicknames to have. i mean idk about you but if you pulled out stubborn pale akaryocyte on me and i didn't know cj i'd just cry i think /j

just another sticker on the board of my endless affection for covers, but once upon a time hayley williams covered a yearnful little tune called "nineteen" and added the line, "could you blame me?" at the end of the song, and it's such a tender, pleading little addition that it changes the entire song from a sort of angry, dejected accusation into someone cradling their too-loving younger self - still mourning, maybe, but the yearning gets displaced from the expression of a present feeling to the softer, distanced recollection of a former longing. anyway everybody should be covering other people's songs and making silly little changes ALL THE TIME
