Would you mind sharing your thoughts on blossutch? if thats okay

more than okay !! blossutch is one of my favorite ships, but it's more like a softcore comfort deal, so this might be a little bland.

i think they're one of those couples that can have conversations with just a look. if they ever pursued a romantic relationship, they'd be the type to take it slow; one date after another, taking their time to really get to know each other - both as friends and as lovers, because both relationships are important to them.

they're both mediators in their separate sibling dynamics, but blossom takes her role as eldest seriously and doesn't really confide in people very much. i think butch's easy-going nature would give her the room she needs to open up, finally learn to rely on somebody rather than keep her feelings bottled up and freezing people out.

blossom and butch would take the time to create solid foundations. if not for the slow burn aspects of it - i do love the thought of mutual pining between them, but maybe having the maturity to recognize that neither are quite ready for something so heavy; maybe not feeling like they're good enough yet, and therefore take the time to work on themselves before reaching out for each other. - then because of a sense of 'time and place'.

i think attraction could start from as early as childhood. like a crush, that grows as they grow, kind of drawn into orbit. there's no rush. it gives them that time to carry out the aforementioned self-betterment.

but the attraction also being something spontaneous is fun too. that they spent years growing up in similar roles, with similar struggles; the irony of parallel lines never meeting is an interesting point of angst. in that scenario, i think butch finding some parts of himself mirrored in blossom (the numbness, the inability to reach out to somebody drifting away from you, the struggle for self-confidence,) would invoke the empathy needed for him to bridge the distance, but i don't think in that case it would be guaranteed that blossom would reciprocate.

overall, i like blossutch in a slow, syruppy kind of way. the kind of people that feel like an old married couple: like they've been together for as long as they've been alive. not soulmates, but fitting together so nicely that even if the romantic interest were to fade, they'd still be left as very good friends in the aftermath.

they may not have a lot of overlapping interests, and in some ways they're sort of at odds with each other (ie; butch being a high school dropout, blossom being an academic weapon,) but those kinds of things don't matter. they align on the important things: views on justice, on what kind of drink should have cold foam, on how to communicate with your loved ones.

there's a lot of things they can learn from each other too. i think that's where they benefit each other the most: not what they have in common, but what they have experienced that sets them apart from each other. they're from opposing sides in childhood.

butch is a perfect example of somebody failed by the system, rejected by the people who should've helped him, and left to slip through the cracks. he's the kind of person that blossom endeavors to help. his perspective on things is the insight she needs to do that.

and on the other side of things, blossom is somebody butch really admires. while she has her own struggles, there's an organic sense of optimism that brightens the world - she's not unrealistic, or idealistic, but her cold-cut determination to bring about good is,, refreshing. it's the kind of thing butch would need to pull himself up.

blossutch is just a feel-good ship for me all around. they bring to mind the image of lovers cozied up on the couch with blankets and fuzzy slippers, or pestering each other to go to bed when up at an unreasonable time. there's some silly unhealthy habits they probably enable in each other - such as all-nighters, energy drinks, binge-watching tv shows - and i imagine they probably bicker of stupid things that don't really matter.

it's just cute. they're cute. they're the couple you expect to outlive the end of the world, if that makes sense. whatever form that takes.

// i'm not really into the 'bad boy x nerd girl' characterizations of it i see floating around as much ? it always feels like it leans into the 'fixer' tropes, which i really dislike. imo it also makes blossutch feel flat. detracts from the kind of depth and dynamicity it could have if given the breathing room to have blossom and butch be fully fleshed-out, multidimensional characters before they get together, rather than being two undeveloped characters that become 'more' as a couple and 'less' when separate. i won't pretend i'm any better; i realize my own interpretation of the ship is kind of boring and uneventful too. if i ever actually wrote a plot-driven story around them, i'd hope that changes, but as i said at the start: this is more of a comfort for me than something i'm invested in for narrative and plot.

It takes place in the 2010's, the Boys are 15 in 2015, and the main "plot" ends in 2018,

RRBORN is OC heavy, but focuses Mainly on the Rowdyruff Boys, and their development as people.

Its a bit disappointing that the ppgxrrb fandom don’t discuss or add Mojo in their story (the major villain in the ppg) cause if its a ppgxrrb love story with a happy and positive ending (RRB redemptions etc etc), or just the two groups becoming friends, cause true to the show’s fashion, Mojo will also be responsible for that, like he always did 😂

Hi, hello! I have something to say.

For the fandom and the rowdyruff boys. I went through your page and found myself agreeing hardcore with a lot of your opinions about the fandom and ppgxrrb.

First of all, I have absolutely no idea of who came up with Butch growing up to be a massive pervert. Going off the show, wouldn't technically all three of the boys be massive perverts? They are all misogynistic slime balls who see girls as inferior.

Some things I think the fandom gets right; the boys are pretty. at least cute. For two reasons, 1; they are splitting images of the girls, so if the boys are ugly then so are the girls. 2, canonically, Bubbles has admitted that she finds Boomer "cute." Also despite the ass kicking handed to the girls in the first appearance of the rrb, Blossom and Bubbles fawn at the prospect of having kissed a boy.

Then again they kissed Harry.

Also, I think a good argument is kid rrb IS cute, but they get that sort of golden child treatment where all 3 of them just eventually end up burning out. They don't care to keep up with themselves and with how gross and mysoginistic they are, they become very unattractive very quickly. They rot, basically. Also if they were discord mods, they'd have kittens they brag their rrb title too.

I will also argue that there is nuance in the boys. Boomer atleast, which is funny because he is the least popular rrb. There are many instances where he is depicted as "naive", "child like" and even "gentle." Like yeah, he was the guy who wrote "Flowers are pretty... dumb" but when he was revived from Him, he was waving at butterflies and being taken advantage of by his brothers. If you wanna go deeper, in the comic the boys actually team up with the girls in one instance.

Still, I see the rowdyruff boys in the same vein as the gang green gang. It's like trying to defend Billy because he has that one episode where he saves the girls after setting them up, but it's like people forget that the girls still had to pummel him because... in the grand scheme of things, the guy is a shitty person! The rrb suffer from major pretty privellege and being the hetero counterparts of the girls, age included. Forget all the other side characters like Elmer, Mitch, Robin even mike! No the gorls grow up to want the boys because, 'they can change them!' Oh my gosh Bubbles suffers drastically from this.

And "the reds" are so toxic it's sad. It's like every fic with them is angsty and incredibly shallow. I never get why Blossom spends so much time running back to Brick. Oh yeah! It's because he's so big and hot now, with fiery red hair and a masculine jaw line, and is cunning and calculative and he suffers from severe mommy issues. He needs a woman like Blossom to show him how much of a prick he is! To put him in his place and tell other women off who have interest in him, because how could a woman lower her standards so much for a punk, Blossom would never (#FEMINISM). Then arranging "private visits" with him so they can make out and talk about how arrogant they both are because "ooh. We're so bad for each other but it feels soooo good. So deep. so bad."

I love how the fandom pretends Blossom is above it all, but still some how succumbs to him. "She can fix him guys! No really! We just have to make Blossom into an absolute self-contradicting prude and have Brick loosen up because... convenience!"

And people seriously bend the hell out of Butch to get him to work with Buttercup, more than 90% of the fics basically make him into a Mitch stand in with powers but this one is hotter2.0. bUTCH LITERALLY HAS NO CHARACTER AND HONESTLY, Buttercup has been repulsed by him many times. She'd yeet that guy so fast, and yet, somehow, the greens are the most popular couple I CAN NOOOOOOOOOT. Like how... really. Why does Butch get so much fanon development? The fandom tries so hard to make him into this character he simply is not! Like even going to the city of clipsville episode, the most salacious thing the fucker has done is "looked at a magazine and whistled!" But like how come Buttercup is so smitten by this that she never, once, snaps out of her "attraction" to the guy? Was this not the same issue Buttercup suffered from ACE.

Wouldn't the idea of being taken advantage of by a villain, turn Buttercup off!?

I just can not imagine Buttercup tolerating Butch- unless he is super hot now and she's internally attracted to him, because nobody gets her like this deprived fuck boy who is misunderstood, and actually a romantic guy who cares about her under it all and blood thirsty- excpet when Buttercup is around, because Buttercup can fix him and "he knows not to mess with her!"

It was so funny seeing the push back for the cw's take, when literally reading that script reminded me of all the fanfics I have had to dig through for YEARS now. I was just thinking "but isn't this what you guys WANT?" And some people were even fretting that it'd attract unwanted parts of society to the fandom. Um. I don't know if the ppg fandom is aware of this, but the fandom is already FLOODED with unwated fans, from fetish artists, to those Pintresest face claim boards that remind me of RIVERDALE, the games have already started!

That one slip of a comic, that was supposed to be a joke, of the boys handing the girls flowers and asking to be their boyfriends is way too meta.

Oh, wow, I didn’t know a lot about how some of the pairings are portrayed (obviously, since I don’t really explore that side of the fandom often) but… well, some of that certainly gave me psychic damage, especially the Blossom stuff. 🤢 I can’t even begin to express the pain I felt from reading all of that but this is the closest I can attempt to describe it with:

I agree that all of the boys would be huge pervs, but I think Butch at least being the perviest would track. If, being Buttercup’s counterpart, he also expresses extremes in his primal emotions, that would just be another primal emotion he’d express to the extreme. Just in super gross ways no girl would ever find appealing.

As for Billy, I will sort of defend him because, out of the entire gang, he has a peanut brain (affectionate), and I think, without the influence of the other guys, he would be a good boy. He still definitely needed to get punished for what he did to the girls though. 🤣 But yeah, I think the main difference between the GGG and the RRB is that, if separated, the GGG could… potentially… be good, and have been shown to have varied nuance, whereas the RRB are Pure Evil and Like That no matter what, and there’s like 100% less nuance to them.

But you’re so right about the CW thing, it really did feel a bit like the kind of stuff people have been writing for years. Also, yeah, wow, despite PPG fandom being rather fractured, it has unfortunately already suffered from a lot of, to put it politely, unpleasantness. If “unwanted” fans flooded in… well, what else is new? 😮‍💨

If you're referring to headcanons I have about the sibling relationship the Puffs have with the Puffs, and the Ruffs with the Ruffs, here's a post where I speak on some general RRB headcanons.

I hadn't gotten around to making a post specifically about the Puffs just yet but some of my favorite would include:

As they get older, each of the girls feels like they're the odd one out (Buttercup and Bubbles are clubbing/partying partners in crime while Blossom usually prefers to stay in, Blossom and Bubbles are both more feminine than Buttercup, while Blossom and Buttercup are still somehow the only ones that most people take seriously in regards to their vigilante lifestyle). Through communication though, they nip this silly idea in its butt.

The band they formed in "Mime For A Change"? That's still a thing that they occasionally pursue every once and a while. Being superheroes doesn't give them much time to practice, and when they do practice, they threaten to break up over creative differences. (I imagine the band name is still "The Powerpuff Girls".)

Inspired by the events in "Dream Scheme", the girls discover that they have shared telepathy with one another. They figure this out one day during a test at school. They can communicate with each other internally, but only if all three are present, are within a certain distance, and if all three are "willing".

In high school, they all decide to take up dance as an extra curricular. Since they're older and becoming their own person, Blossom figured it'd be best if there was something the three could do all together that didn't involve crime fighting or monster slaying. Dance was perfect because it's physically demanding (and competitive) enough for Buttercup, artistically intriguing enough for Bubbles, and with the need to focus, the importance of synchronization, the attention to detail, and not to mention the competitiveness aspect, Blossom couldn't say no.

As for my favorite ships, at the moment I'm really feeling Bluegrass (Bubbles/Butch), Cotton Candy (Blossom/Boomer), Christmas Ornaments (Buttercup/Brick), and R3ds (Blossom/Brick/Princess). But all of the PPGxRRB ships can be pretty interesting, there isn't one I actively dislike.

hii, im just kinda curious so sorry if this is kinda annoying 😭 but what are ur thoughts on blossom x boomer?

blossoomer is… fine. i don't have any strong positive opinions on it but it's honestly just cus of the fanon tropes i see for it. 'nerd x idiot' is a dynamic i hate, and the various 'autism x adhd' that's been shoved down my throat is getting a little tiring too.

it's all pretty stigmatizing, and centering a ship entirely around those two facets is enough to just make me lose interest. i don't hate blossoomer, but i've definitely been put off it more than once.

factor in that in [my] headcanon, they don't even share friend groups, so there's not a lot of reason for them to overlap or get together. blossom and boomer are both characters i struggle to really match with anybody romantically, so there's that too.

i don't really have a lot to say about them, though, so this post isn't going to be nearly as in-depth as i try to explore other ships. sorry !

all that being said, i do understand the appeal of blossoomer as well. looking at it without my personal biases against fanon and headcanons, they're kinda cute.

they kind of give me ice cream parlor vibes at first ? like boomer would try to impress blossom with more traditional/classic date locations; the slow-paced ones where you walk around the boardwalk or the park, stop for a coffee or a lunch. inoffensive, not overly romantic or grand gesturing.

he probably is hoping to show blossom that he's able to take things slow. maybe worries about scaring her away.

a total misread of who she is, as by the sixth date, she's probably decided that a monster fight is a way to ramp up the pace a little bit. covered in guts and detritus and questionable fluids by the end of it, a little out of breath, but triumphant and grinning - and if boomer wasn't already smitten, well now he's entirely head over heels because wow.

there's an allure to put-together blossom turning out to be something of a 'dynamite babe' ? you kind of forget she's capable of levelling a cityblock when she spends so much time behaving as a regular, powerless citizen; focusing on her studies, her career path, very normal things that belie just how dangerous she can be.

boomer's a moth to a lamp that way.

the other side of it i think is blossom thinks boomer's just generic retriever boyfriend material at the start. it's not exactly the type of person she'd be satisfied in settling for, so she jumps them into action to see how he'll do.

he's… still kind of a retriever boyfriend. but it seems like after the little spectacle, something's broken down the barrier that kept him passing the boundary into truly engaging. it's like he had kept himself tightly-wound so as not to scare her away - and there's probably history in that, probably been shut down a few times before for being 'too much' - only to spring to life with this newfound reassurance that blossom can take it.

still think they have a healthy dose of respect for their own personal time. they're a couple that, when together, are buzzing with excitement. always in motion. it's surprisingly energetic and social for the both of them given how low-energy and nonplussed they appear to the world independently. seems like it could be fun ! i don't think they'd be equals; lowkey i see blossom kind of envisioning herself as a little above boomer, in multiple aspects. i think if boomer ever caught on, it'd be one of their biggest points of contention: that blossom doesn't see them on the same level. blossoomer also isn't a ship that strikes me as particularly long-lasting because of this. kind of a whirlwind romance ? flying so high until they plummet. messy breakup, etc.

Reds: mlm wlw besties. Romantically, couple counseling. HOWEVER an ot3 of mine if Princess is involved.

BrickxBubbles: dark emo character who is secretly a crybaby paired with the sunshine character who is also a crybaby. Tooth rottenly sweet

BrickxButtercup: great at bullying ppl together but I think they’d have a hard time being genuine. Friend with benefits if romantic but low-key jealous if they date someone else. they’d be hot but passive aggressive and would NOT have their shit together.

Bummer (blues): chaotic, messy, toxic, should be divorced, we love to fking see it 👏👏👏

Bloomer (blossxboom): girlboss x himbo. He makes her laugh, she doesn’t make him feel stupid. If you ignore Boomer’s inability to stay out of trouble, it’s a peaceful relationship.

Butter (bcxboom): jock x dumbass 100% bros. If they dated, it’d be one of those things where even they’d forget they were dating. Goofy love.

Buttch (greens lol): 😭😭 they are soft and loyal and I can’t quit them. Don’t even look at me rn

I find it hilarious how everyone kept saying that Craig (or whoever in charge of this episode) was making fun of and mocking the ppgxrrb shippers with this episode but it ended up fueling the shipping fire even more. Now its pretty much a possible canon that they will fancy each other when they get older.
