Btw I love slapstick (Yui/Hinata from Angel Beats is hilarious from what I remember and they pretty much literally strangling each other when they go at it), but Persona (esp P5) doesn't do a good job with framing, and framing is def needed for that kinda thing.

Like I've said, I'm in the middle of the 2nd rescue (so Mako's not in my party....hmmm maybe this is why I like P5T so much, PQ2 lulled me into that same false sense of security too TT0TT)

things i want to yell ab now that the au is over

- god vanessa will you ever escape manipulation. your dad manipulates you in the divorce. you turn 18, you leave. you get a job where you leave with a manipulative rabbit in your brain and a therapy appointment at 3. your therapist manipulates you and then the rabbit that's been manipulating you manipulates you into killing her. on like 4 separate occasions. you go into work at your new job and your manager is the worst boss you've ever had and he not only gaslights you into thinking the code you spent an ungodly number of hours writing was never real, but admits that he's been telling your therapist what should be confidential information and he has recordings of those therapy sessions. you get out. you fall prey to the rabbit that's been stalking you for years, who amplifies your thoughts and feelings to mean something they don't and you can't get out. so you're saved. you're saved in part by the worst boss you've ever had and it'll take time to forgive him but you think you can. nevermind, he's taken the mask that caused all your agony for so long and he's wearing it and he's running away without a word, without an explanation, and he's going to kill himself. and you get the feeling he's had a story for much longer than he's let on but none of that even matters because he was your friend too most of the time and now he's leaving, and now you're back to having nothing at all.

- hey vanessa you have a very fucked up view of what personal relationships should look like. you're tired of your trust being violated but that's all you know in what makes somebody trustworthy. i love you.

- mike's decision to give up the knife instead of chasing after vanessa with it in pq3; in pq1 he chased after vanny because he was under the impression that vanessa wasn't there at all anymore, that she was lost to the virus. but after pq2 and cassidy's reveal, it became clear that they were on a mission to save her. and yeah, it very well could be justified that mike doesn't want to kill another person, and that's obv part of the reason, but also. he just likes vanessa. despite being reduced to nothing but a device to kill william, he was still friends with vanessa, still cares for her. and he holds out hope that he can, for once, have his cake and eat it too. vanessa can live and william will die. he can do things right.

- nooooo vanessa don't have conveniently spring bonnie themed coloring and hair shaped like a bunny tail and purple clothing vanessa nooooo

- the vanny costume being framed as a way to escape // vanessa needing to escape the vanny costume by the end of the story

I’ve had this thought for a while and I kinda curious what your views on it are.

In the SB duffel bags (PQ1 maint log, PQ2 maint log, red flags, out of order, and arcade conspiracy to be precise) two things are implied: 1. In order to play the next PQ, you have to play the prior. 2. Only people who are ‘worthy’ can play PQ3. What I’m trying to say is how the heck are we playing PQ4 in HW2. The only person who has played PQ3 up to SB was Gregory, and all the machines looked pretty busted up by the time of Ruin.

I don’t exactly know what this could mean, or I’m just being stupid but eh.

i think we can discount that because in HW2 you distinctly can not play the game before youre given a special purple coin to put in, then youre allowed to play. that logic still works here but it tells us whoever is the protag hasnt played the last 3

i could write a whooole essay on the differences + parallels(??not sure if that word works here) between BBW and PQ1-3 and what they convey about gregory and vanessas experiences w being glitchtrapped and like the distinction between their experiences But i wont. for now

wont lie i've only played DeSu2 and SMTV (does persona even get considered as smt these days. if so, i played like half of p5... and half of PQ1 if we're going down the persona route), so I dont have much on what's popular & whats not within the whole series.

HOWEVER.

I like SMTV's Battle: Seeker more than Battle: Origin.

For any who dont know, Battle: Seeker is usually seen as the worst battle theme in V.

Both can get repetitive, yeah, but I just like Seeker more. Plus the context for Seeker helps. Its used in certain sidequest battles that really shouldn't take you too long from what I remember. Its not an extreme serious boss theme, but that ain't its point. Also the part starting at 0:49 goes hard as hell.

Meanwhile Origin IS one of the boss themes... meaning its both repetitive AND you're gonna hear it longer in the fights its in. And there's no big standout section of Origin that I love like Seeker.

Fuck you atlus TT0TT “Oh here we have a canon name for FeMC, *flings out a random adaptation* UHhh here yea, here’s Kotone!” No, you can’t just do that, she’s paired with Sakuya not Makoto. It’s either Makoto (M) and Makoto (F), or Kotone and Sakuya, you gotta pick a lane! (considering PQ2 ya should’ve gone with Makoto (F)) 

I knew this would happen but it ain’t right. It just feels wrong and lazy. Give her-her own adaptation you lazy fucks.

I guess I have a few issues. 

1) It feels......lazy. Rude, like she’s an afterthought. “Oh but Silly she came 2nd anyway” but Atlus had an idea for an FeMC early on in P3, she was on the same footing at one point but had to be cut due to reasons. TT0TT It feels like we should just be LUCKY to have gotten the musicals. Because then we would’ve been SOL. (like they really couldn’t just give her a small OVA could they? TT0TT just an ep, a fun filler ep thrown in for one of the movies)

2a) In a meta sense if feels wrong, it irks me. PQ2 made it a point to show their similarities and how they are copies almost of each other. Person with the same heart. To the point it really bothers FeMC and gives her a bit of a complex (not that much but enough). So the canon name scheme would reflect that beautifully if it was the same or close. Which means the choice of it being both Makoto Yuki, or having the same last name (Shiomi, and the firsts being Kotone and Sakuya), would’ve fit that. Or hell, Kotone Yuki even. But now it’s just whatever.

2b) It feels weird to take half from the Stage Play but leave the other half behind. Kotone/Sakuya are a pair for a reason. Like, it just feels weird to pull from two different sources. And then there’s the fact PQ2!FeMC and Kotone (play) have pretty different personalities (love how versatile FeMC is, but it really stands out here). Like at this rate give her a new name (or just Makoto who cares, at least Female!Makoto Yuki doesn’t already exists to contradict it). 

tldr; I want the right names paired together, or just a new name entirely.

So if Stitchline is canon and Andrew is some forgotten 6th MCI spirit then 1. Why doesn't he show up on the fnaf 1 report that specifies there's only 5 missing kids? 2. Why doesn't he show up in the PQ1/4 graves?

it’s gotta be this one tbh it’s just so so beautiful. i dislike extreme orgia mode as a concept because it doesn’t really do anything different from normal orgia mode but the way it looks is so fucking pretty i eat up any art of her activating it. it’s really funny because this isn’t even for a mainline persona game it’s like a collab with a card strategy game
