K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

You folks went right for the angst, huh? 🤣 I mean I post a lot of my angsty stuff because I really do like it. But angstiest that I haven't published, hm...

In BTS ff, maybe it's either one of the very first stories I'd written where Tae's gf was obviously falling in love with JK (ha! the reverse of Asunder!), or a heavy-pining short piece I'd started where OC was in love with JK but ignoring it but he felt the need to go out of his way to let her know he had a gf and wasn't interested in her. I started a hybrid breeding center story a long time ago, you can imagine that was pretty angsty. The soulmate story where idol JK has a deaf soulmate he rejected as a teenager was preeeeetty angsty too...

In a Dragon Age story, I had the main characters fall in love, ahve children, then have a pretty painful-to-write deterioration of their relationship, separate, but then he was killed in a pretty brutal way and she sacrificed her magic to perform a blood ritual to bring him back to life, and then had to step back as his new girlfriend came to nurse him. They did wind up together in the long run. But that was some juicy angst. Oh and in the first story of that epic series, it starts with an arrangeed marriage where the male lead is in love (and still carrying on with) someone else as he and his wife start to fall in love. Ah ok actually the whole series was super angsty, the middle storyline the OC's love interest sleeps with her then immediately goes to sleep with her bully, it was complicated...

Ok I just really like writing angst but I will say that i find the most powerful angst is really in the emotional details, so probably none of these sounds angsty in a vaccuum but trust me, they hurt. Fun fact: when I was originally writing Flux, the dark period for Sasha and Jungkook was too painful/angsty for me to write in the depths of my depressive episode and I had to skip writing it lol.

a random thought: I’m so in love with Skids that I made an OC that’s preeeeetty much a self insert and I don’t do that. Ever. That’s how much I love him. 

An unpopular opinion: Megatron is right and did nothing wrong. Come at me. #1 Megatron apologist in the house, babeeeeey. 

My Canon OTP: CyGate, I got back into Transformers because of them. You can thank @lucy300 for that. ;) EDIT: Fuck it, MegaStar. I don’t even care. They’re canon to me, damn it!

My Non-canon OTP: MegaStar (But they’re actually canon, soooooo *snickers*)

Most Badass Character: Cyclonus 

Most Epic Villain: I feel like it’s cheating to say Megatron, but like....it’s Megatron. 

Pairing I am not a fan of: I’m quite confident in saying that I don’t have a NOTP in the entire Transformers franchise. I’m still catching up, but truly I love ALL of these giant robots and love seeing all the popular and rare pairs out there. 

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Tarn and I won’t go into detail, because of spoilers. I am still VERY disappointed and saddened by that incident. 

Favourite Friendship: The trio of Skids, Brainstorm, and Nautica warmed my heart. EDIT: Actually going to put Domey and Stormy’s friendship over the nerd trio. After seeing them on Kimia and re-reading their “talk” (you know the one), yeah definitely the Genius Twins.

Character I most identify with: Megatron. His politics, his vision, and his writing makes me feel like I’m looking at a mirror sometimes. EDIT: I’m actually going to go with Chromedome after re-reading a bit of MTMTE. I, too, try to be nice to people who are made fun of or are “unpopular” and tend to pretend to be into their own hobbies like Domey did with Ironfist. I also get sucked into returning to my bad habits and letting people walk all over me, because I just want to be of use in any way. I know what it’s like to be around enablers and people who ignore you when you say “no.” I just....yeah Domey and I are the same person. 🥺

Character I wish I could be: Starscream. I genuinely admire his drive, his intellect and charisma. If I had just an OUNCE of his confidence, I would’ve ruled the world by now.

Well. well, good news: THERE IS! :D going on no order in particular other than its easier to find on AO3 if i sort by kudos:

(also full disclosure, none of these are viking-themed but generic medieval fantasy setting which i know doesnt quite scratch your Vahalla binge, but still, same basic conflict as you described)

first of we have “An Ocean of Fire”, which oh boy lemme tell you, its EPIC. like its huge. full disclosure, i actually didnt read it fully after they got together cause you know me and my reasons, but still. it takes long enough time for that to happen that i was well satisfied. this one aint rated E just for smut reasons, so you better keep that in mind for your more queasy followers.

next up is “I’d Rather Be The Dragon”, which, holy fuck, HAS SUCH A FUCKING INSANE SET UP OK. i was on the edge of my seat for fucking 1/3 of the fic because of the setup. in fact id say thats the one that most closely resembles what you are describing here. once again, full disclosure, i did not finish it for the same reasons stated above. but i think i got preeeeetty far along if you ask me. also everyone’s characterization is not just “hey this is the exact same character transported to medieval times” but actually “hey this is that character IF they had grown in this setting”. at least as far as i got to reading it.

and last but not least, my actual favorite of the group, although its also the furthest from your order: “Do not go gentle into that good night”. ok this full disclosure is gonna be the opposite: THIS IS ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE FICS OF ALL FUCKING TIME OK. case in point: i kept readinf to the END of the story, and not just up till they get together. and you know me, you know how big that is. THAT is how fucking good this fic is ok??? also this has become my ultimate medieval headcanon for Lena Luthor. like, nothing will ever fucking beat it. if you wanna know why youre gonna have to read it and i know youre gonna laugh because ITS ACTUALLY RELATED TO YOU PERSONALY. you’ll see what i mean. anyway this one is also part 1 of a great reincarnation series, which means the fic is actually totally full of symbolism and foreshadowing and shit like that and you know im a sucker for it. the only reason is the furthest one from your order is that the events you describe sorta happen in vice-versa. but trust me, its still worth it. you still get beefy Baby Denvers being a badass knight. arguably too badass. that is part of the issue.

At working dreaming about an au in which the Luthors attempt to trade Lena to a viking earl in exchange for a promise of peace except the earl is Kara who is so outraged that they'd sell their only daughter rather than pay the invaders the sum in gold and silver that Kara originally asked for that she vows to burn their kingdom to the ground.

General Opinion: This is possibly my favourite relationship that I’ve written on here. THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH GODDAMNIT.

If we’re being serious though- it’s also one of the most interesting relationships that I’ve explored. I think their marriage is wonderful throughout most of their lives, though it does have some...shall we say, issues? Hence that question mark over ‘healthy’ :P Namely, Mairon the Ainu doesn’t really get the whole empathy thing and can be very selfish (and genuinely sees nothing wrong with that), and he doesn’t really get the consent thing either...which became a preeeeetty huge issue in one of our AU’s. I think generally towards the third age their relationship gets a lot more strained, bordering on unhealthy, though all of that conflict is honestly one of my favourite things to explore :3

BUT ALL OF THAT ASIDE

I love their dynamic, they love each other so fiercely (maybe even too much so) and every single thread we have with them is just epic :D
