We are a big, extended family (asian). But I have opened up about a recently deceased family member who routinely did csa on me for years and years, ans the reaction of my family was very misogynistic (I am a transgender man who is not out) and callous. I am heartbroken, and in danger of homelessness again. I have recently escaped homelessness 5 years ago after being homeless ever since I was 15 (numbers are blurry). And my greatest fear is being homeless again.

I am very sorry for the upsetting post. If anyone with the right resources could please help me have some footing, I'd deeply appreciate it.

Feeling sorry for myself

I just want to apologise if I seem standoffish sometimes. Or if I'm super late to reply to anyone. I get too shy and I have anxiety. After my mum passed away it kinda got worse. But I'm trying to get better at not being so awkward and making friends. I don't have many friends offline and it gets very lonely. I often don't get to talk to anyone for days or weeks face to face or on the phone. So coming on here and chatting makes my day. I'm just very slow at it because I get nervous.

Things have been really hard. I'm unemployed again and finding it impossible to find work. The curse of not having a car and living rurally. I've got bills to pay that signing on for welfare doesn't cover. When it comes to my family, only my sister has anything to do with me. I hate where I live because I have neighbours from hell, but I'm stuck here. I'm feeling trapped so it's been hard to get myself out there in the world more. And that includes being online and drawing. I just want to curl up and stop some days. I keep trying though even if I feel like giving up. Because drawing makes me happy and I love the people I meet here. I've met some really kind and awesome people ❤️ So I guess I just wanted to moan because sometimes it helps getting things out instead of pretending things are great. Sometimes they're not.

I wish I was a faster artist. I think that's why I'm not successful or find work in art. No one wants my art and it gets depressing seeing people I shared fandom with become successful and develop careers. Like I'm struggling to get people interested in my prints or Patreon. Honestly I'm thinking of deleting my Pateron as I'm not doing great or offering things people want. I don't do much NSFW and my art isn't cute. I take so long to draw and paint it's ridiculous. And don't draw just the one fandom and like to branch out and that doesn't help. Especially as I've landed in a new one lately. I think there'll be a point I'm going to have to stop drawing as it'll be hard to balance that and stressing about not having full time work. It makes me sad to think that but bills are more important and I have to get out of this hell hole I'm living in. I only have myself to rely on in my life. My family or friends won't help me. I get people asking why I can't do something with my art. But you need to be super popular and know people, as well as being outgoing and great at networking to make that work. And I'm too slow, shy and have a weird style for anyone to hire me. 

Sorry, just feeling sorry for myself today and wanted somewhere to rant that's not my poor sister. It's just been really hard for me recently and I'm trying so much to be positive and get myself sorted out. But sometimes you just want to have a moan. Will go try to finish something as I've had a really bad social anxiety kick recently and I've not been online or drawn anything for over a month. I want to draw so badly too.

Sorry for moaning so much.

But basically, in short, you can support our sales coming this month to help us the most. The other thing that would really help would be buying some of the new journals or prints.

And, finally, a more long term way of support is to subscribe to the Patreon I’m working on. I’m going to launch it soon, and I will continue to work on it regardless of if we end up having to close the shop. The Patreon I’m making is going to have a bunch of things - talks about minerals, my crafting, foraging, nature talks, gardening, cultural things, story telling, recipes… and whatever else I can do. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for so long, and this really seems like the best time to finally do it!

I don't have any of those, for now: where I live you can't just earn money and pay your taxes, you need a sort of "entrepreneur license" beforehand - that's why, after I was accepted on Inprnt, I couldn't immediately put my prints on sale. I hope I can sort this out in the near future, but this kind of legal-bureaucratic stuff can be very difficult and if you do it wrong, even by honest mistake, the consequences are super scary (like how dare you forget to tell us that you earned 57cents twelve years ago, you now owe us 3000 euros in fines and are labeled as a tax evader).

Let's hope everything goes according to plans and maybe in the next months I will be able to set up a system that will not put me in jail! 😱😆

In the meantime, thank you for liking my things! That's already a tip for my mental health, and a generous one, at that.

Am caught in a death spiral my lieges. I don't feel entitled to anyone's time, effort or resources but I feel so beat down. I am disabled, I am working so much I genuinely developed a hunched back. I am alone responsible for my autistic sister, her parentified sibling, and my two parents who are disabled with extremely limited movement. I have three jobs. I can't ask for help on twitter because people I work for follow me there. My work requires me to draw every day, without a day off, ever. I have a "morality clause" which means if I or the author I work with are deemed to be acting in any way the company thinks inappropriate, we are immediately fired and would have to return every single cent we have made. I feel at my wits end. My employers are american- but I am not. I live in the global south- government assistance in the Philippines is *nonexistent*

Last week I asked for help to pay for electricity. The other week I asked for help with my sister who had to be rushed to the ER.

I doxxed myself and posted medical info to this blog, so many strangers know my address, my legal name, everything just for me to be able to seek mutual aid- Wallah I do not want to be this person, but if anyone could please, pick up a print from my inprnt, or subscribe to my patreon, I already have 300+ drawings up there and I upload thrice to four times a month, or if you could send direct tips it would make a world's difference. I will try to open commissions next week but as the world is being plunged into wherever it is we are headed, it's getting harder and harder to get clients.

Currently myself dealing with housing insecurity- we only have a year or two to fix our traditional filipino house as it is falling apart due to the philippine storms and termites- *please* help me and my disabled family of three. I feel I am rambling now bc there's so much on my mind, on my plate, I've asked friends and my partner for help, my sister and my cousins and my friends are all I have. My mom's side of the family cannot help as they are all extremely poor themselves, and my paternal side of the family have emotionally abused me and have members that committed routine csa on me. I do not take any of the help I receive here for granted, and I'm sorry. I read all of whats pposted of Rock and Roar and I'm in awe, the designs are fantastic but the pacing is also super super good, it feels like I'm reading a movie script, or a graphic novel adaptation of a movie. This is wonderful!!!! What's the best way to support the comic? Is there merch or any art from it I can buy? (bc I would be super down to get a noel reyfield concert poster just saying)

I started working as a freelance artist a bit over 2 years ago now. I am super glad that I get to have my dream job and that I was able to work on some really amazing projects because of it. But it has also come with a lot of challenges, which I never mentioned publicly.

So far, I have been able to finance myself with my work, because I lived at home and my business expenses were lower at the start. But now, because of the way running a business is set up in my country, my expenses will be more than 500 € per month, just for basic things like healthcare, pension funds, etc., not to mention living expenses, adobe license and all that. And I would have to make around 2000 € per month to be able to live a comfortable life.

I recently signed a contract with an agency that would help me find more projects, and I am in talks with some people about some potential new projects, but until then, I am jobless.

I'm gonna use this time, to post more on my Patreon, so if you'd consider supporting me, that would mean the world to me. My lowest tier is 3 € and you get monthly wallpapers, step-by-step tutorials and more, or you can even sign up for free, so you can follow my updates more closely.
