FINALLY I managed to install minecraft on freebsd
the official launcher doesn't have a freebsd version, I can't login with microsoft on prism launcher, and the multimc package in the ports collection is an old version, I can't login on that one because it's from before the switch to microsoft accounts and it wants to connect to the old mojang servers
I had to compile the latest version of multimc, then get it to find lwjgl, but now It Works

Dont use curseforge anymore.
For downloading game mods: If it's Minecraft, use Modrinth instead, for any other games use gamebanana or nexusmods.

They're still openly raising money for Israel, though instead of the IDF in specific its just general "those affected by the Hamas attacks"

I've been trying to mind my own buisness and play with a friend of mine on modded MC but Prism keeps crashing on me.
This seems to be the most relevant bit, and I keep on getting it even after I've tried to: - restart my pc - change versions of forge (to no avail) - clear metadata - google general answers lmao - reinstall forge
and I have no idea. It's specifically with 1.19.2 packs. Everything else is working golden, so I'm stuck.

I've been playing beta minecraft for reasons
bonus: windowed mode obliterated color glitch
#minecraft#random stuff#I had to do an entire tutorial and get the prism launcher to fix that glitch#I was telling my brother. when I started playing it it felt like playing a horror game version of minecraft#where it's pitch black at night and you can't run and can't passively regenerate#now it just sort of feels like Smaller Simpler Minecraft. with some functionality problems#in some ways it's less frustrating to play#in others it's like oh. I definitely see why they fixed that. like bows which are terrible in this version#I see people talking about how old minecraft had so much more busywork in it#but modern minecraft is just. villagers.#once I get all the items I was thinking about updating it to the prereleases so that I can finally sprint#it is nice to not have to constantly eat though

#figured out what was causing prism launcher to constantly crash#i only nearly cried once and felt like a massive idiot when i figured it out#(hint: the new instance was working fine for a minute until i remembered the no telemetry mod. once i had it installed it didnt work.#40 minutes of frantic googling later i stopped and went “hold on. is it??” and it was. well at least my graphics driver is up to date now)
