just wanted to add some thoughts to the memory vial/brain dead au (or whatever we're calling it)

because of course ford's guilt about using the memory gun on stan is so much worse than it is in canon, not just for the obvious reasons but also because like

this wasn't the plan

Stan agreed to have his memories erased—of course he did, the whole thing was his idea. But he didn't know he was going to die. Granted, I feel like Stan probably still would've been willing to make that sacrifice if he had known that. But I don't think Ford would've.

Ford just thought he was turning his brother into an amnesiac, and even then he almost couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger. And of course he knew it was going to hurt, having Stan look at him like he's a stranger, but at least that's the outcome he was preparing himself for.

He was not prepared to see Stan's body topple over on its side, his unblinking eyes staring blankly ahead. Ford rushes to his brother's aid, grabbing him by the shoulders, trying to rouse him, calling his name (except, he wouldn't know his own name anymore, would he?). Stan's not moving. He's not breathing. Oh God, he's not breathing. Ford glances at the memory gun on the ground next to them, and horror washes over him as he realizes what he's done. The gun erased more than just memories, it erased everything. Stan's brain was a floppy drive and Ford was the magnet, wiping it clean and leaving it broken beyond repair.

No, no, this wasn't the plan. Time to call off the con. This wasn't supposed to happen. Stop, cut, abort mission, abort mission!

But it's too late. What's done is done, and he can't take it back.

Oh God, I killed him.

Sobbing now, Ford mutters choked-out apologies, first to Stan's body as he holds him tight—and again at his grave after he's buried. And the apologies start up anew every time he visits.

As the years go on, Ford is haunted by all the what-ifs that might've saved his brother's life. What if he had thought to type "Stanley Pines memories" into the memory gun instead of just "Stanley Pines", would it have kept his essential brain functions intact? Hell, what if he typed in "Bill Cipher"? Would that have been enough to kill the bastard and still let Stanley keep most of his memories and, more importantly, his life?

Ford doesn't know the answer to that question. And he'll never know. Because as much as he longs for it, he'll never have that chance to go back and do it differently.

AU where instead of kicking Stanley out, Filbrick has Stanley "kidnapped" to one of those shitty wilderness therapy programs for "troubled kids".

Stanley does not have a good time and at some point has reached a breaking point and he writes a secret message in one of his monthly letters to his family asking Ford for help.

And despite still being angry at him for the science fair, Ford immediately tries to find a way to break him out

does it count as domestic fluff if you and levi suffer in silence together over a mountain of paperwork ... you barge into his office at half past 2 in the morning with a string of complaints and an interesting set of words you say you'll make sure erwin never hears the end of. levi can only offer you the tiniest of smiles, the cause of which is none other than your usually composed front unraveling in his presence. you march towards him, eyes fleeting from one corner of the room to another to find a spare chair to sit now that your spot on his desk is occupied by stacks of papers and folders.

when you don't find one, you visibly deflate. the frown on your face deepens. levi takes it as his cue to offer you a seat on his lap, and who are you to decline when it's clearly what he craves as well.

you settle yourself on his thighs. your head falls back on the dip between his neck and his shoulders. he tries to get some work done as you start to get comfortable, but you quickly snatch the pen from his hand, threading your own fingers through it instead.

levi decides to humor you. he lets you quietly pull and tug at his fingers, trace the lines over his palm, as he, too uses his unoccupied hand to massage your temple.

when he feels your movements starting to falter and your body going limp, he shakes you awake. regretfully so, because as much as he wishes to further indulge you, he knows erwin has set strict deadlines and neither of you can afford to fall behind.

so instead, he asks you to stand up and bring the water on his teapot to a boil before making his way out of the office. you oblige, a bit confused.

levi comes back not a moment later with your own stack of paperwork in his arms. he moves half of his stack off the table and replaces it with yours, clearing out enough space for both of you to work.

losing sleep over work isn't so bad now, with a cup of coffee and levi suffering beside you with his cup of tea. even if you're still awake by the time sunlight starts pouring into the windows of his office.

more of the “bill forced to live with the pines as a human” fic i will probably never write.

the story so far: three years post-weirdmageddon, stan and ford are about to head back to gravity falls for the summer. it’s a yearly tradition for both sets of twins to join soos, abuelita, and melody in the shack. but a few weeks before summer, ford gets a strange call. turns out the theraprism’s worst-behaved prisoner has finally pushed them too far—they’re sending him away while they work out new methods of dealing with him. and who better to contain him than the people who killed him? better yet, in a town he can’t leave? so the brothers rush back early, warn soos and co, and bill cipher arrives, wearing a jumpsuit and an ankle monitor, powerless, and considerably more humany than usual. absolutely no one is happy with this. the stans warn dipper and mabel, but they decide to come anyway—a), to help keep an eye on bill, because sure, the theraprism says he’s helpless, but come on, and b), because gravity falls summer is the highlight of their year. so they come, this happens, and at some point after that, mabel makes bill a sweater.

Just once, when they’re in the throes of smut, and the guy asks “Is this all for me?” I wish the reader would be a smart ass and say “No it’s for the guy behind the door/curtains/couch or whatever”

I’d read the shit out of that. No hate or whatever to writers who write that I’m just not sure why a guy would ask that. I mean, do you see anyone else here? Oh it’s for my imaginary lover in my head.
