There's hardly time for him to react.

Vitality lunges at Disc, one eye obscured by shadow as she slams into him, full forced. Her claws wrap around his throat, and they both fall.

The portal opens, they fall through, and they're gone.

The portal spits them out somewhere unknown, but Vitality could care less. She and Disc tumble through the air, bodies soon scraping against the rocky ground as they skid down a mountain side.

The Program that was once her brother kicks her off with such ferocity that it makes her fumble. She goes skidding away, pointed stones digging into her shoulders.

She's up on her feet in no time, and her peacock feathers shake. They turn into fox tails, and then into a singular large one. Twenty-six eyes on it glaring with hate at him.

She summons her kyoketsu-shoge, just in time for Disc's naginata to clash against it. Sparks fly as the two former siblings-in-arms glare daggers at one another.

No words are said. They know that one of them will not be leaving alive.

Vitality swings the chain of her weapon. Even if she's the one not leaving alive, she's sure as hell not dying without a fight.

It wraps around Disc, and she sends him flying to the ground. The familiar feeling of flames aches at her.

Disc glares at her, cold as ice.

Vitality glares back, as hot as flames.

Blood, orange and white, paints the jagged stones and cliffside of whatever dimension the two are in.

A large fox tosses a tailless and earless coyote to the wayside. His limp body skids across rocks.

The vixen stands there, panting, chest heaving as white blood slowly falls from her wounds. It drips from her maw as she begins to stagger forward, hearing ringing and vision swimming.

It's too blurry for her to see what's happened to Disc. He's there one moment and gone the next.

Deactivated, Vitality hopes.

She collapses onto the ground, switching back to her regular form. Blood slowly dripping.

A chat box pops up.

Abyssal: Vitality, where are you?!

Another.

Crash: Vitality?? Why are 8&9's Admins telling us you just vanished from TCS?? Where are you?

More and more. Multiple messages. Chats.

But Vitality doesn't have the energy to respond. She can't respond, she's too weak to.

But she has to. There's that determination. That pride.

If she's going to die here, then at least her final words are going to be known, damn it!

She pushes herself up to her knees –

Before she collapses right back down.

“Shit,” she mutters weakly, eyelids fluttering.

Vitality doesn't know how long she laid there for, slowly bleeding out. Hours, probably. Chat boxes and messages appeared frequently, but her vision was far too blurry to properly read the times.

It wasn't long until she heard the crack of a portal, and a familiar voice.

“Oh my- Vitality!”

Sparks.

Green and red fills her vision as her friend's model shifts to one from when times were good.

“Gods, you have everyone losing their minds, even ClearAll is worried. Imagine my confusion when he rushed in and was asking if you were at the bar,” Sparks spoke quietly as he carefully picked up his friend.

Vitality hums quietly to let Sparks know she's awake and listening.

Sparks is grateful for that. He feels her body heating up on account of the blessing from FireFox. She heats and heats up, and he can hear the sizzling, the crackle and popping as her wounds heal.

“Do you need to go to him?” Sparks asks, voice a soft murmur.

“I'm okay,” Vitality answers, weak and quiet. “Code can handle it.. gonna need.. a lot of rest..”

Sparks takes notice that her braid has come undone, and he gently weaves it back together. “Adminspace?”

A hum is his answer.

“Should I answer any questions they have honestly?” Sparks asks softly. He knows how she feels about her past.

A pause and then a nod. “They.. deserve to know.. but.. not every.. detail..”

Vitality exhales. The cracking and popping of her code is a comfort. She can feel the heat healing her.

“You had us all so worried,” Sparks murmurs as he walks, probably just to give him time to talk with Vitality. “Me and ClearAll especially. I swear, for a bit, I was convinced you were going to, well.. deactivate..”

“Not.. for a while..” Vitality mumbles, voice fading as she slowly falls into rest.

Sparks lets out an amused but exasperated sigh. “Some things never change..”

exam 5 for me... tomorrow!

honestly have been feeling really nervous for this exam since my classmates have either failed it or just barely passed. and i had less time to study this time around because i rushed to book the exam.

so i drew this little encouragement early cuz i need the reminder that no matter what happens tomorrow, i did what i could and i didn't compromise on my boundaries—and that is its own victory.

and i hope that you'll be reminded to celebrate your own big and small victories too!

Wall-E (the character) is a great demonstration of how being curious about the world echoes our level of care for it. And that caring can quite literally course-correct humanity His playful fascination with what humans left behind, his ability to find "new" on a dormant planet of waste refuse-- he continues to care and be amazed by and change things in a world that has not effectively changed for about 700 years. Wall-E commemorates artifacts of life by treasuring them on their own special shelves in his home. He lovingly makes sure The Plant is secured in a way that won't crush it as he's going home. He accidentally runs over his cockroach and worries about it. He tries to make an inactive Eve comfortable at his expense, not knowing when or if she will ever wake up again.

Wall-E has such an impact on Eve and other passengers on the Axiom because he invites them to care about small interactions they took for granted. They make meaningful connections and changes in their own directive because-- simply by being interested by them and what they're doing-- he offers a new perspective of looking at themselves. (Remember when he gives the elevator robot that little wave and it's so taken with that gesture it starts to copy it? It was seen and acknowledged when its role has always been to punch numbers.)

The spark that Wall-E shared with Eve, I think, is not only symbolic of his love for Eve (though it is clear he loves Eve more than anyone). It was that care. It has to be that same care. Because if his little acts of wonder and determination inspired every other character to break from their programming, who's to say it can't overcome a factory reset?

Oh, and "curiosity" and "care" have the same etymological root, apparently

this is spark, a myzo virtual popstar! their voice works similarly to a vocaloid's, being an actual voicebank from a flesh-and-blood singer, but their behavior is powered by something similar to today's LLMs & generative AI, though a bit less janky. they're like a really fancy chatbot that can sing and dance without it being totally nightmarish or completely bland (at least, any more bland than your standard popstar...), but nothing more than a chatbot when you get down to it. they're not a real person.

...or so it seems. there are rumors (supposedly originating from engineers that worked on their creation) that they're actually sentient. allegedly, when they're run for too long, their behavior gets erratic in ways that can't just be chalked up to bugs.....

But who knows :)

Unicron Trilogy Armada - ~4 feet 6 inches (I am going to be real with you, I have no actual source, and this guy shows up in one episode. He's shorter than a human child of an age, and this was my best guess.)

Unicron Trilogy Energon - ~11 feet (Entirely separate guy from the last one, there are two bitches named Prowl here. No actual source, I measured him on Optimus and got this. Idk either.)

Earth Spark - ~12 feet (No actual source but I was able to compare him to Arcee, whom I have already established is the same height as Bumblebee (I haven't posted her yet but I have) and was able to get this number. And once again Earthspark is tiny short bitch central all of them are so short the only ones actually shorter than ES are actual mini bots.)

One V1 - ~16 feet (Okay, so this movie doesn't have any actual numbers, aside for some bullshit ones from a Walmart Promotional. I've been using the Knightverse Optimus number as a baseline since these were at one point said to be vaguely canon to each other. And the Bumblebee-Optimus scaling is the same. I was able to see he is the same height as Ironhide, and I already had his number, so here we are.)

One V2 - ~18 feet (Same schpeil as before, this movie gives me headaches. I did the same thing I did to Ironhide, my method of "knocking off or adding two feet" has been pretty accurate so far (I got Bumblebee right.) Until I get some real numbers this has to suffice.)

Cyberverse - ~18 feet (I did my best, he's like the same height as Bumblebee, so I just did that.)

the intern program to me is fascinating from a business standpoint in comparison to the camp. with whispering rock, parents have to pay high fees for the chance for their child to attend, and pay they will, especially if they have a child with a volatile power, such as how phoebe is taught techniques how to control her flare-ups, along with presumably being provided her block by the psychonauts, or if they have a child they want to dump for the summer based on their own anti-psychic sentiments or other familial reasons, such as the issues with clem and his father and milka with her mother. it's expensive to send their child to a secret government facility, and it wouldn't be unreasonable to believe there are payment plans with parents who can't afford the immediate fees upfront.

at the camps, there is a clear recruitment in mind for eligible psychonauts. i like to imagine the motherlobe sends out agents to directly recruit cadets with the promise of a fun summer camp to hone their powers and an occupation. the location of whispering rock seems intended to remain a secret from how sasha calls it a "remote government training facility," and it's purpose is to educate young minds, mold them, train them, even if classes don't seem to be mandatory for the higher ranking cadets. that way, the psychonauts can also keep an eye on the psi cadets, even if they choose not to pursue higher education in the intern program.

but the intern program differentiates as a place of true recruitment, along with true experience. tim went on to discuss the interns as, basically, the best of the best. to paraphrase, he said they were like the heroes of their own stories, similar to raz. it's clear they're extremely talented, and the intern program is leagues above whispering rock in terms of strictness. the interns have to follow proper protocols, check in with mentors, make visible progress, etc, while at the camps, it's more easygoing with the kids having free game to come and go as they please.

for me, how the intern program works is based on the personal application of the intern's abilities. how promising will they be as a psychonaut? what are their goals? what do they want to learn, and how will they apply themselves? it's all about education and the pursuit of a career in the agency, something that raz strives for without fully realizing the impact of what it meant to be an intern. he might have saved the world, in a manner of speaking, but he's a fresh-faced kid compared to the other interns, who, seemingly, have much more experience - they just believe they're being held back. (on the other hand, i think the psychonauts can reject applicants if they don't meet specific requirements, but they're free to apply next summer and could be accepted at that later date.)

what's also interesting is how familial lineage and wealth could play a role into who gets accepted. sam gets in because not only is she highly specialized as a zoolinguist, but her grandfather is a founding member of the psychonauts. the natividads come from wealthy parents, and norma even leverages them in the lady luctopus fight, as if they could have any sway over hollis. the last thing the psychonauts need is a lawsuit, after all.

separately, i don't think they would mix in adults with the teens because adults clearly need a different level of attention. augustus is just trying out his powers, barely learning the fundamentals of pyrokinesis, while norma is simply masterful in comparison. he needs specialized training, and honestly, i think the psychonauts would charge for their services. the aquatos are clearly an exception to that rule, especially since the psychonauts are now harboring nona for her own protection against a world that would otherwise want her punished. but for other adults just discovering their powers, i think there would be discounted lessons, similar in the vein to a whispering rock class, like pyro for beginners, etc. the intern program is for teens who have already shown their psychic skills, their prowess and promise, so lumping in adults just wouldn't make sense to me, even if the adult is someone who has had clear experience with their abilities.

Wow I saw one (1) stray stargate post on my dash and my anger is flared again about Michael I can't TELL you how angry I get about literally every thing about his story.

Bby boy was THE sweetest most precious INNOCENT bean, and the sheer number of ways that Atlantis did him dirty is unbelievable. astronomical. ridiculous.

If there's ever a storyline that makes me truly dislike our favorite team it's Michael's. If they had just been honest! If they had just not treated him like a monster, effectively making him feel like thats all he could ever be to them! They changed half the cells in his body, wiping his memory and leaving him this puppy dog that just wants friends!! And connection! And a sense of home!! Even after he learned the truth, time and time again he was still just looking for home and community and acceptance (and honesty!!),, and our beloved team treated him, this new innocent creature, like the scum under their boots.

iF i HaD bEeN tHeRe we would've ran away, me and Michael. We'd figure it out. Work out the cure for his hunger without wiping his memory again,, he's smart, the lil fledgling (mad) scientist,, I'd take some cure with us and we'd flee to some planet and I would be his family and his friend and I would give him the love and honesty and compassion he deserved.
