Chapter 8.3 - Flesh of My Flesh

VLAD

Vlad talks over pancakes. He explains the pointy-eared man. He explains the light and the smoke and the way he’s noticed a glimmer popping up in the corner of his eye. He explains his theories, his anxieties, and the worst part of the whole thing—his attraction because it was inconvenient to be turned on by someone who might be imaginary.

They don’t dismiss him. They don’t argue.

“The world is a complicated place,” Nikolas says.

“You have systems,” Josef says, “You need to use them. You need to be tethered, or else you’ll float away.”

It’s the same thing he’s been told since he was a child. Vlad finishes his plate and curls up with his father on the couch while Nikolas gets a fire going. “I’m tired.”

“Of course you are,” Josef rustles Vlad’s hair, “Since you was a baby you never slept. You been riding all day and thinking non-stop. You need rest. You get cranky if not, hell, we all do.”

“But it’s not just sleep,” Vlad insists. “I feel on the cusp of something big. Like something is about to shift and I’ve just been waiting my whole life for it. But now I’m tired of prowling and pacing and waiting for it to come.”

“Soon,” Nikolas soothes when he sits down. “You just be patient. World is complicated, but things become clear when they’re meant to. In the meantime, I ever told you about the time I was chasing a target, and they ducked down a mine shaft?”

He has, but Vlad lets his grandfather tell it anyway because it's a good story.

It takes a few more days before Vlad feels like he’s back to himself. They’re strange days. He sleeps a lot. He hears his parents argue, not the usual shouting obscenities and making idle threats, but the hushed whispers that tell him it's about something real.

He meets William for that barley bale.

He manages to turn in the bare minimum of his assignments—mostly perfunctory since he intends to cheat his grades, but it’s a good exercise. 

And he does catch up with Alice. He wishes he’d done it sooner. Yes, he’s still seeing an attractive pointy-eared man who might possibly be imaginary, but keeping track of her requires his undivided attention. 

Like now when she was supposed to meet him at the Commons over an hour ago. Vlad can tell she was here because she’s forgotten her headphones.

It was something other sims noticed, too.

—To their detriment.

He finally locates Alice in the graduate dorm study room. “Greetings, Magpie. I’m sorry I was away for so long. I wasn’t feeling well.”

She whirls around, “Oh shit! What time is it? How late am I? I’m sorry! Are those my headphones?”

“Yes,” Vlad says, handing them over. "And don’t worry; I entertained myself. What are you doing?”

“Nothing!” She groans. “Well, not really nothing. I need to research that secret society I’ve been tracking, but I don’t read or do books. I mean, I can, but it’s hard.“ Her head dips, and she tries to avoid his gaze. “I usually use a voice reader for anything long or listen to audiobooks, but for whatever Watcher-forsaken reason, the research machine doesn’t have a headphone jack or even Bluetooth. So now I’m stuck.”

“Would you like help?”

“I’m not stupid,” she replies fiercely.

“And you like books,” he adds, arching a brow. “You simply use an alternate method to read. I think you need an assistant. And as it turns out, I love traipsing through endless reams of text and boring books.”

Immediately, her eyes light up. “So, I’m the boss of you?”

The delight etched across Alice’s face at the idea of being in charge of him is enough to send Vlad into the stratosphere. It also spawns a fantasy that makes his pulse race. Something inside him unwinds and stretches. It wraps fingers around his rib cage and peers out past his heart, pleased and bound. 

“Yes, I do very well with specific instructions. Feel free to demand whatever you want.”

"dope ... i like your music, i'm y/n" she introduced herself, sticking out her right hand that was covered in her blood before switching to the left one, which had none

"i'm marshall" the rapper shook her hand.

"are you sure you're good?" he asked once again

"yeah, i'll be fine, this happens a lot" she said while grabbing a towel to put on her wound

my god. new contender for most shite day at work this year so far

another morning another free bus journey..

so i saw of the Devil on bluesky and, as a self-proclaimed Detective VN Enthusiast, had to play the demo.

and it is FANTASTIC so far. so fantastic in fact that i am typing this up on tumblr for the higher character limit

first off, the game has INSANE style points.

morgan has a huge theme of poker/gambling, and that's reflected in the game's UI in an absolutely beautiful way. the UI also brings in the cyberpunk aspect, so just looking at the UI can tell you what kind of world morgan's in and how she thinks about her job. and also it looks awesome combined with the comic book motifs of the artstyle. my only complaint on this front is that london and reyes aren't very expressive in their sprites, but it at least makes a little sense considering they're detectives. and also i've been playing ai: the somnium files, which goes above and beyond on the expression front, so my perception may be skewed here. some extra poses in the sprites overall would be nice for the full game but they are absolutely great as is and do not need it to hold up

also i LOVE that you're rewarded for interacting with the game world and understanding it. reading comprehension game my beloved <3 being rewarded for investigating every object in the room my beloved <3

also a spoiler for zero escape: zero time dilemma but i try to be as vague as possible abt it

God forbid women do anything.

i LOVE morgan already. i didn't see the twist coming at all, but the foreshadowing was extremely solid. it could have easily felt as bullshit as the villian's reveal in ZTD, but it didn't feel like that at all - it made a lot of her past lines make a lot more sense, and it being revealed this early in the game makes me excited about how the game is going to handle it. also you texted a heart emoticon to the fucking DEPARTMENT OF STATE ? absolute fucking menace

i was playing aitsf before i picked up otdevil. i will be drawing date and reyes together with their yellow prosthetic detective-assistant eyes as soon as i finish aitsf

also the interviews in extra content are a fucking fantastic idea and every VN should do them. i've only viewed reyes's so far (i need to be up in 6 hours </3) but it was AMAZING. tell me your character has autism in one easy step (and possibly a tgirl depending on what that third thing is)

that being said, i do have a few nitpicks.

- it's obvious from the moment the photo is shown that carlos isn't the killer. iirc we already determined that carlos didn't have a right arm at the time, and whether you account for the mirror or not, the suspect in the photo has both arms. this tripped me up for the rest of the mirror segment and i think it could be fixed (relatively) easily by altering the pose of the figure such that the arm not holding the gun is more behind the figure or perhaps less distinctly an arm

- some of the solutions are a little unintuitive. to me anyway. and sometimes i am a little stupid. the one that comes to mind is the smell of the jacket -- admittedly i'm not very knowledgeable on guns, but i don't think i'd have thought of the smell of the gunpowder not being on it. that being said, gambling's kinda the point, so maybe i'm bound to have to make a few guesses

- it's not very easy to jump back to a particular segment of the episode. i unlocked everyone's interviews but morgan's on my first run, but if i wasn't such a religious multi-slot saver i might've had to do the whole episode over to get morgan's unless there's a replay option i'm missing.

i'll prolly have more and better thoughts when i'm more awake but damn that demo was good and i'm so excited for ep 1

My ask is Do you personally think / feel there is some character that's like ended up a waste ( in term development ) or just.. didn't need to exist / continue into the next chapter at some point ? Like example, in your analysis Ogata should just died in vol 19 something like that I think.. I suddenly think like.. Vasily is a big waste or maybe he shouldn't continue to be Ogata's rival because I personally dont see it, sometimes i really think he's just like a fan service character ? Vasily went to take revenge on Ogata and go as for to Japan for that, that sound kinda romantic or something someone said that and i really dont see that ( I think Vasily fans gonna hate me ). I think Tsukishima & Koito prolly the same case at the end how they ended up breaking their loyalty to Tsurumi. I'm sorry if it's wrong the end of chapter kinda confuse me a lot.

Should I warn everyone that this isn't a Noda apprecciation post and that the back button in this case might be your best friend?

I hope people will be intuitive enough to figure it out on their own so without further ado let's dig into this.

Do I personally think / feel there is some character that's like ended up a waste ( in term development ) or just.. didn't need to exist / continue into the next chapter at some point ?

Oh yes. I feel quite a lot got wasted and this doesn't include just characters but also plot points actually.

Before someone will say something, I'll clear up a couple of things about what I mean.

First of all, this is my personal opinion. It's not The Truth. It's just how I feel.

Second, for me a story has to fit with Anton Chekhov's advice: If it's not essential, don't include it in the story. Especially, I'll add, if you want to write only 31 volumes and then you'll end up rushing things to fit everything in them.

So, let's start.

Let's cut from the story Sugimoto's feelings for Umeko which go nowhere and supposedly ended when Kikuta told him he should let Umeko go. He could be just in the story to help a friend's wife. After all that's why he's in the story in the anime, which completely cut Umeko's role and, anyway, it seems that's what Noda wanted since Sugimoto supposedly wanted to marry Umeko solely because Toraji told him so.

Q: Sugimoto’s main motivation to participate in the gold hunt was to heal Umeko, the girl who was his childhood friend and whom he loved. However, in the last chapter, he gives his share of the gold to Umeko’s son, since her eyes were already healed. Why did you do that?

Noda: If Umeko had not remarried and her eyes weren’t healed, the story would have needed a few more chapters, which, considering that it was post-climax, would have made it drag on needlessly.

The reason for that is Toraji told Sugimoto to get together with Umeko before dying, and he is not the kind of guy who could have ignored that and return to Hokkaido with Asirpa. [Noda’s interview for Yomiuri online paper]

Actually also let's cut her eye problems. Let's send Sugimoto to get money for Toraji's son, so he can go to school. If the whole thing with Umeko becomes a bother that needs to be solved offscreen without Sugimoto's intervention, let's just not include it.

The same goes for Ogata's feelings for his grandmother. We are told that Ogata didn't kill Tanigaki because he was a grandmother's boy and so he didn't want to murder Huci even though not killing Tanigaki causes him plenty of troubles and then... it turns out in an interview he probably poisoned his grandparents and they're no more discussed in the story.

Q17: Are Ogata’s grandparents still alive? If not, how did they die? Noda: They both disappeared before Ogata enlisted. There was half-eaten food left on the table. [Q&A section from the Golden Kamuy fanbook]

Honestly I would cut also Tanigaki's tragic backstory with his sister because... it goes nowhere in the end. He completely forgets he was meant to go back home and tell his father how his sister died, he actually goes back home because he has Inkarmat and Tsurumi is hunting him.

And since we're at it, let's cut the whole "Huci might die of worry for Asirpa", since Huci gets all better as soon as they hand her a baby.

Note that those plot points were all things I liked when I assumed they would go somewhere... instead they are just brushed off, forgotten or solved offscreen. They didn't really serve to the story, Ogata could have not killed Tanigaki because too many in the village saw him entering in Huci's house and might attack him if he were to shoot at her, and Tanigaki could have gone after Asirpa because she saved his life.

Then we've characters like Svetlana, who served zero purpose, Ogata and Vasily that were kept alive for no reason at all after Vol 19, the whole subplot with Central that went nowhere along with Wada's murder, since Tsurumi has the support of Yodogawa and could have gotten the weapons from him instead than doing it from behind Wada's back and then killing him.

To have Wilk include, among the tattooed convicts, a well known child murderer and who cares if that guy would go on murdering children once free (even though murdering children is generally considered one of the most disgusting crimes even by criminals) and his daughter is also a child, makes a huge disservice to Wilk as a supposedly good father.

Saving Tsurumi was unneeded, and the same goes for the whole Tsukishima-Koito-Tsurumi plot that goes nowhere.

Sofia shouldn't have known she had no part in Tsurumi's daughter's death if, afterward, she was meant to die thinking solely at how regretful she felt for it, and not at how her men died because she thought trying to fulfil Wilk and Kiro's dream was a good plan.

And since Jack the Ripper was clearly so poorly researched about, Noda could have just turned him into some Japanese mad slasher, no need to toss in the story another murderer who kills because he's a Christian with warped beliefs like Sekiya... and talking about warped belief and psychological problems already seen, we've Heita who has warped Ainu religion beliefs and hears voices like Edogai... okay, he's actually worse than Edogai but still close enough.

And what about the fake skins plot? Noda even forgot one of those fake skins at a certain point and solved the plot abruptly.

Ariko didn't need to 'die' to be resurrected short after and then STAY OUT OF THE STORY and not even help Asirpa, despite his father being the one who triggered the Ainu massacre falling for Tsurumi's manipulation. Not that the guy knows so this too was unneeded.

And actually the story would have probably benefitted by having Inkarmat die due to her wound and Ienaga be killed once she saved Sugimoto.

And should we dig into Tsukishima's tragic backstory which also go nowhere?

Or the rather terrible story of the raped white bear?

The extra story of the roasted little bird?

The whole "Wakayama was the one behind the skin in Barato" plot with annexed the whole "searching for the skins is useless" which gets forgotten with a shrug?

And let's not forget the whole Central plot that goes nowhere. Tsurumi knew already of the gold, Ogata got involved by Central for unclear reasons (why pick him?) and Kikuta got in the game too late and contributed too little all for Central to do basically nothing in the story.

And, since we're at it, the whole Noboribetsu thing was also handled poorly.

I guess I could add more but that's what came to my mind as of now. I fear it's already way too much...

Now, I've basically rushed up through everything and I realize this instead would need to be expanded to be more understandable, as some plot points/characters might seem of relevance... when actually could have been solved way more quickly and efficently... especially since at the end Noda rushed through the story because he wanted to end at vol 31.

If one has a set a specific volume for the ending he should do well his math and not add extra that merely dilute the story for no real purpose.

If it's not essential, don't include it in the story.

But whatever, if you or someone else now feels the need for clarifications of why some plot points/characters felt useless/didn't deserve to live that long, you can write me.

If you or someone else feel they actually were important, okay, that's your opinion, I'm not saying you've to change it, just don't try to change mine. I prefer not to argue about things I didn't like of GK, it makes happy no one and feels rather boring.

The most difficult prop to design. "Very meaty dish that makes you put on weight" was the order, so I prepared a draft and when I showed it, I've got a "it should stick out of the bowl more, make it more like 'a fatso's favourite food'!" comment. So I did, and then the next order was: "I want it to be a more erotic katsudon", so I was like "???"... After that, I've read the storyboards for episode 3., and at last, I understood what she meant (laugh).

>Makkachin tissue case

The important points of the design are the round butt and the standing tail. I don't know if it was the Director's idea or Kubo-san's idea, but the tissue case was there in the storyboards, so my job was to draw the setting materials for that case. I've heard that the idea came from the Pooh tissue case that Hanyu Yuzuru uses. The way this Makkachin tissue case was drawn by animators in each scene was very unstable (laugh), so I remember doing a lot of corrections to this tissue case specifically, in the episodes that I worked on.

>Skates

I was responsible for designing Victor's and Yurio's skates. Yuuri's skates were designed by a different person. Skates needs to be drawn in scenes with a lot of movement, so I made sure to draw them from a lot of different angles [in the setting materials], so it's possible to see how they are constructed. I asked Hiramatsu-san for some advice in regards to how much the design can be simplified to make it easier for the animators to draw, without it looking too unnatural. By the way, a real-life model exists for each combination of shoes and blades, and during a staff meeting, I've got a table that shows which character wears which shoes.

[Notes: About the 'fatso' comment - sometimes you see people getting offended that YoI is fatphobic, but it's just a cultural difference. Unsolicited comments about somebody's appearance are prolly rude in every culture, but in Jp, where being underweight is more common and more of a social problem (eg. pregnant women eating less than they should to stay healthy) than being overweight, it's very uncommon to hear about something being "fatphobic". Because of that, I'm sure the creators didn't even think twice about calling Yuuri "fatso" or "big fatso" or making it a running joke, that he likes to eat and puts on weigh in the off-season. Some western fans do have this sense of entitlement that everything should be adapted to their liking and worldview, like "if I find it personally offensive then it means it should be immediately corrected, because it's making me uncomfortable, how dare they...", but very often, it's really not malicious, or "-phobic" in any way - it's simply a refection of how in other cultures people may have different common sense.]

Sooo yeah, y’all prolly noticed that I kinda dropped the caboose blog (and md: sidelines kinda) and I’m sorry about that. I’m bad at being consistent, and I’ve also been making this mini short series thing based on this project I’m part of.

The project is “Kratos in the helluverse” by DarkSideConal, I voice blitzø and I had the idea to do little “interviews” between blitzø and random villains from other fandoms. I call it “IMPerviews”, and I’m planning on posting them to here and YT. The first 2 are done, but the third one still needs to be recorded (and my fellow VA buddy couldn’t do the lines today so he’s doin’ them tomorrow) but part 3 should be done around end of tomorrow-middle of the next day.

Ok so why didn’t i ever read chapter 73. I forgot about it? I have zero clue why that happened.

Its a very fun chapter too, it feels quite chill and is a good transition alongside tying up loose ends

I’m glad it talks about Alya being like “why tf are they over there” 

God I’m still so curious about the seeds planted of clues for Juleka’s identity, plus idk why but I’m still 90% certain adrien will randomly find out

I know he won’t but my brain is convinced

Interesting.. Luka teaches Kim guitar? I’m curious about Luka’s totally normal life aside from the furry for a sister, he tries so hard…

Now thats an interesting tidbit

Luka can tell how in her own head Juleka is? Very intriguing for him to call them delusions… I wonder how different pieces of this fic would be if they were from another perspective, especially the sheer level of danger the characters are in and how monstrous Juleka sees herself vs the reality of her protecting herself 

My thoughts are going to when she Prince Shining (that was his name right?) It’s one of my favorite original Akumas behind Wicket Witch and Little Red (which I am realising now is because of the background to them… Akuma hit harder when there is a buildup, huh. Something to keep in mind for my own writing.) That was fun to see, how worried the class was vs how confused that made Juleka

How people perceive others and myself has always been interesting to me, so this is right up my alley

Oh curious, of course Luka would want to protect Juleka… I wonder if Marinette will try to make him a holder as well, I’m not sure if that secret identity would last the hour to be honest

The fact that we still don’t have much model Juleka content (aside from a piece of art you did a few years ago, or maybe that was someone else) makes me feel crazy! It’s an aspect of her that I’m really curious to see how you write it

I’ve got fun concepts for her in my own shit, and ANYWAY! Ui brought it up because Anarka was talking about sending Juleka there.

I don’t have any idea what you’re referring to with your 2001 bubblegum pop post BUT I genuinely unironically think you’re so cool for knowing so much about that era! Every time it comes up I get jealous of how knowledgeable and passionate you are.

LOL it's purposely incomprehensible. I just saw a Bad Take and was compelled by obsession to be angry about it in a vague way.

HOWEVER, I have to say! 2001 teenipop/bubblegum pop is an amazing genre and it's super fun to get into, at least on a surface level (listening to it and jamming out)!*

*Don't necessarily dig under the Y2K chrome surfaces, though, because like anything having to do with the entertainment industry prior to #metoo and especially regarding child- and teen stars, it gets... so depressing so fast.

**BUT YOU CAN IGNORE THAT PART WHILE CHEWING ON SOME TASTY SWEDISH-INFLUENCED BEATS AND YOU SHOULD!

And I like to pride myself on being Extremely Learnèd in its glittery pink ways, but I will only ever be but a humble student of the two true masters of the genre: Tommy2 Ramirez (although he's stopped popblogging and started, ugh, runner-blogging, RIP t2.net the GOAT) and Mariel Talks Pop.

(I am prolly the 3rd highest ranking sorcerer of teenipop, though. Just saying. But Mariel is the Sorcerer Supreme and Tommy2 is the Wong.)

Mariel is basically the sole reason that 90% of teenipop/2001-era bubblegum pop albums and music videos have survived the physical to digital media transition. She ran a blogspot for years in the Dark Days of the Mid-Aughts and Early-Tennies where she doggedly wrote bios and uploaded full album rips with metadata of every album whose label had died before the big digital push and thus have never been made available on YouTube, Spotify, or iTunes. She is truly a godsend. She doesn't do that anymore and a lot of the links have gone down as sharing sites have been taken offline, but the bios alone are doing the lions' share of keeping ANY record of a LOT of bubblegum pop artists. She also focuses way more on the full global contingent of pop than I ever have, so I get to discover new-defunct artists through her page(s) all the time, too!

And Tommy2.net was like. The Rolling Stone of bubblegum pop. I wrote for it for a while after college and got to do some fun interviews and get some show screeners (like Glee). The fact that it is now offline makes me genuinely really sad, especially because it existed for so long before tagging posts was a thing that websites could do, so even if it gets pulled up on the Wayback Machine, it is fucking impossible to navigate easily. I wish that it could have transitioned to an archive, but I get that hosting that much media for the four weirdos who ever are like, "Wait, I need to know exactly what pureNRG said in that interview in 2007!!!" (aka Me, Mariel, and like, two bots probably?) wasn't feasible.

Anyway, all that to say, archival fans are so important and I love them forever.

He kind of came into the weekend pessimistic didn’t he (as much as his pr training allowed anyways), great sprint but the grid was neutralized. He didn’t touch the setup in Suzuka and he was okay but has Lewis ever been one to fight for p8/9? idk? it’s a bit odd isn’t it cuz same suzuka last year he was scrambling with george for what p7? idk? Maybe his garage is just shit? if he himself is just shit he sure doesn’t look it in his post interviews and Lewis is not very good at hiding his emotions (this isnt me policing his emotions btw). So maybe the setup is the problem as he says and he’s going extreme. Will he then stop since they’ve all been failures? I doubt lol he may feel like he owes it to the team to find the setup of the car that propels them to the front. Alonso (tho imo not in good faith) said Lewis only knows how to drive from the front, not that it’s true but they’re currently at the back and maybe he’s seeing it as an opportunity to throw anything at the wall and hope it sticks. He prolly feels like he has nothing to lose anyways except the millions of articles and think pieces as we’re doing now lol. Maybe we’ll see a change when he’s finally out of the engineering room. I’m trying and failing to be optimistic.

I don't know if he did. It was clear from the start they weren't gonna be any miracles on this track despite what happened with the sprint (which wasn't a miracle : rainy qualis can go crazy but they don't make a result by themselves + without Alonso he probably wouldn't have finished in P2). I don't think his garage is shit, that's what frustrates me. They are good. They can and should do better.

There's many understandable reasons to his actions, regarding the setup or otherwise like. I get it. The current situation is unacceptable and he's trying literally everything to get himself out of this hole. I've told everyone to be patient before drawing conclusions. I'm trying to do the same thing. But I'm starting to believe this isn't the way. Throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks Isn't. Working. I don't understand what it is he's hoping to find pushing the setup this way. He's not gonna produce 0.5 of pace out of thin air. Which is why I'm wondering if the issue really is him taking the setup too far or if it's not that the setup is particularly extreme but that he can't make it work either way, you know?

Well IVE been in st. Mary’s for about 11 days. It’s been…better than expected. I’m gaining more weight (eating again bc I’m not miserable), I was getting good sleep but the past two days IVE drank hella caffeine pretty late in the day and now it’s the second evening where it’s 3 am and I ain’t tired. IVE been showering, brushing my teeth, hanging with my brothers family which is great. Carter and I have taken many mini adventures. I have a job interviews too so at a gas station (hahaha) at 10 am (wish I could sleeeeeep) and I have been soft free for 11 days. Wizard.

The thing that I hate, I have no weed and my god that would really round out making this move … nice. I dunno.

She FINNALY sent me a video of my bbs. Fuck I miss them. I will never own a real pet again. Maybe a fish. Prolly a big of some sort but nothing that I can feel love and affection from. I’m half way thru season five of melrose place. Hmmm I dunno what else. Oh I practiced parking for my drivers test. Should be taking that next week. Got my papers ready to do my late taxes. Prolly do them Wednesday. Been talking regularly with my mom and dad. Saw Finn. Helped mom organize all grandpas stuff. I got his belt buckle he got from his job. It’s got a fucking tank on it. Speaking of tanks, Alex is gonna tattoo the tank girl tattoo on me Wednesday and I’m jonesed on that.

I’m gonna get… no strike that… I am getting better. Wswlwg and I’m growing. I’m also learning hella. My room is nice. I’m sleeping on a nice air mattress.

Oh I got here moved all my stuff into a room, then two days ago had to remove everything upstairs in to this trim bc now Taylor’s mom is visiting for a week. Shes nice but I feel awkward. I’m anxious bc Taylor only has a short time until she gives birth meaning I’ll have to keep from freaking out while there’s a new born here. There’s already a todlar and a ten year old here… and Thats not a complaint. I love them so much. Carters absolutely cool as fuck and just great to spend my day with. And guines smile is the besttttt. But Carter never stops talking haha. AND NOONE KNOCKS BEFORE COMEING IN MY ROOM. I’m trying so hard to be honest when I get over stimulated but even then I feel like I’m being ungrateful. I dunno.

What I do know is I’m getting better and I’m excited to live on my own in the next few months.

This isn’t depression talking or anything but I really think I’m over dating. It’s just always a burden and I always just have to many expectations and I’m a hoot to be around so fuck it. I’m actually better when I’m alone bc I don’t have to listen to nonsensical convos and I can eat when I want sleep when I want etc. like my brother thinks, I get bad when I feel I don’t have control. And there’s no greater control of ones being then when they only have themselves.

Im over fighting and pleading for attention. I’m over girls on their phones 24 7. I’m over having to go out and watch them get drunk and then come home and tell me I have substance issues. Im over unselfish selfish spiked but well meaning daddy’s girls.

what's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? Uhh, look I am not a prolific writer. I fantasize and plan on a daily basis but I have very little to show for it. I wouldn't say anything of what I have put out there has angsty ending as such. I always try to put out happy endings because I generally torture the characters so they at least get a happy ending. I have only one multi-chap, so I can't really speak for the one shots. Promise Maktub will have a happy ending but it will be an earned one.

what's the fic you've written with the happiest ending? I hope that will be Maktub if I do get to finish it. :)

do you write crossovers? Not a fan of crossovers. Don't write or read crossover stories as I feel things get wishy washy very easily.

what's a wip that you want to finish but don't think you ever will? Oh god, I wanna finish Maktub so bad. I really hope I will manage. It's about half way through. I do fear I won't make it.

what are your writing strengths? Hmm, it's difficult to do self-assessment. I have been told I have good flow and create athmosphere well. I like bringing in detail and nuance into my writing, I am not sure I am managing.

what are your writing weaknesses? I am pantser. No outlines, no order, no planning. I tend to make shit up as I go and sometimes that comes to bite me back. I am also horribly inconsistent in writing. When I am obssessed I write like a woman possessed. Once the madness settles a bit I find it really hard to gather the motivation to sit down and type. Also, I can't do initial drafts. I want it to be good from the moment I put it down, which essentially means I take ages to finish anything cause I fight and fight with a sentence until it's right before I can move on.

what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I do not mind it in reading if it is justified and appropriately translated. As a writer I always feel nerveous doing it unless I have the chance to check with a native speaker. It is so easy to butcher a language.

what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to? I am so into JJK at the moment it's not even funny. I wanna write Gojo x Yuji or Sukuna x Yuju or all three of them in a messed up toxic triangle. I have so many ideas!

what's your favorite fic you've ever written? Probably Maktub? I am really pleasantly surprised by how well it has been received.
