Psyn Show Idea: Augustus and Donatella compete in a show similar to 'The Amazing Race'
Considering how fast they caught up to Raz in the games, they certainly know how to travel around
Just make sure there aren't any travel by swimming portion, might not be quite prepared for that just yet (other water travel vehicles might help, gotta have that ever so loved water segments in games)
...
Ah man, imagine a Psychic Amazing Race, that would be fun
although a bit difficult to balance considering the different specialties of psychics
certainly could be a fun bonding experience between one psychic and one non-psychic duo

Bloopers and gag reels ( like toy story animated bloopers) for psyn show but with mental constructs characters, who in the show would be doing more than standing around and having dialogue trees. I mean like an actual doing something way kinda like the actors in gloria's theatre and feast of the senses.

one more running joke for ya: I like imagining Bob looking at Milla and Sasha and casually joking "So, it's still a tradition that they pair up the uptight anxious guy and the brightest ray of sunshine in the room, huh? You guys start dating yet, or is that coming later?"
Just. Bob casually and jokingly comparing Sasha and Milla's partnership to his with Helmut.
Even without a show he can say that because golly we sure do see it. Before that though, we get those Doublefine moments between Sasha & Milla, just like in game.
Oh to continue the joke about the Sasha & Milla kissing game, just like the dev video.
Don't actually know what I think the two would respond to that prompt because I'm sure they've had other people say that to them. The comparison to Bob's own relationship is a cute new addition though.
I can imagine if Bob were given a non-answer and was even more curious he could ask Truman, who no doubt would have seen the parallel seeing them work well together. *Thinks about this fic again*

Psyn Show Running Gag: Raz or any other Aquato sibling does something… that's a little disturbing or outlandish towards others. Where the Parents or the siblings just tell them “It's an Aquato Thing”
Given how extra their introduction was the first time we see them in game, I wouldn't be surprised. Balance a furniture on while you wait for your son, climb the jet and exercise some feats at that height, juggle and stretch your little runaway as you hug and greet him.
They all just gotta MOVE they are acrobatic performers gosh dangit they announce it very clearly.
Hell we continue to see them flip while traversing around (Frazie & Queepie) like what we do with Raz.
I imagine being psychic and being part of the psychonauts, people would be used to strange this happening. They'd be more chill than civilians with the outlandish feats, entertained even because woah they can just do that without psychic powers.
Sometimes they are still a surprised at some things like how Raz surprised the interns by sticking to a thought bubble in Hollis's classroom and creating a new technique.
and then sometimes I just want moments with my dear ASC where they are not used to these strange things and it's just ''Raz, did your Nona just jump 60 feet vertically up into the air?" and think it was an acrobatic fleet and not psychically assisted take-off.

Adding onto the show idea... I'm begging for the campers to show up at least once. Or the Thorney Towers crew. I just care about them so much.
The other thing I'd like to suggest is a "family day" episode where the interns'/junior agents' families come to visit.
The wonderful thing about this is that anyone can show up again. So far there are no overarching arcs yet, but plenty of things can still happen that connect to one another.
There could be episodes back at Whispering Rock, where campers are sure to reappear. And just like in the first game, we don't need to know their whole deal to appreciate them. Just having bits and encounters stumbling on them while they have their own thing going on in the background as we move toward plot or just good ol' character interaction.
As for the Thorney Towers Crew, I'd have no idea where they would be the first time they appear in the show having established characters who know Raz, but the audience doesn't yet is gonna be a fun little challenge on what info to reveal about them. I'm just having fun at the idea of quick little shots and transitions of the wackiest and most important moments in those levels told in brief summary.
It could just be that in earlier episodes there would be a tiny mention of them as being the first few people that Raz has helped out, and finally reported in official documents as the list of stuff Raz has done the moment he stepped foot at camp. Put in Raz's little recap in there too as Raz's form of report.
Also Oooooo 'Family Day'. Oh that'd be fun, I doubt they'd all come at the same time, since I know nothing of secret government facilities, but getting to meet the rest of those teen's families would be a delight. See how they'd feel where THEIR family does an unexpected visit and display their own brand of family.

Episode Idea: Raz gets captured by the Noodler and he's not afraid… he's starstrucked. And he slowly drives him insane.
OH YES that scenario would be SO funny to even consider. We’ve had like two mentions of the Noodler in psychonauts (one in TPT cover fighting Sasha & Milla, and the other with Raz mentioning Hollis & Truman fighting ‘em).
You have to wonder if the Noodler was in jail -- escaped and went back to whatever they were up to that they’ve had multiple encounters with the Psychonauts, or they were never caught in the first place and could have possibly seen these comics as well.
If not then oh boy just imagining Raz asking the Noodler questions about things that happened in the comics and driving them insane with how different some details are. Raz could even point out that in the comics that he has, the Noodler looked a lot different then he imagine. Cue the Noodler checking Raz’s infinitely spaced bag to see numerous comic books with their moniker as a villain/antagonist.
They could go off with a tangent with “I do NOT look like that”,“That was NOT how it happened” and how they “totally forgot that I’ve done something cooler like --” and generally complaining about wanting to be someone with better image than how the comics portray them as.
Raz then proceeds to distract them with the comics and genuine questions about their stuff and why they do it, until help arrives to see both of them having conversations on things about the accuracy of the comic.
(and we have to remember that characters have flaws in their views and can have a warped perspective on things, and the comics are highly embellished. So the truth is somewhere in between and somehow even more crazier than the ones printed into entertaining magazines)

adding onto the show ideas--
There's definitely an introduction to Bob where he's just doing something completely normal for him (working with the plants in the Motherlobe, getting a nice meal with Compton at the Lumberstack, just sitting with Helmut and being the most lovestruck man you have ever seen) and as soon as he notices the ASC he just freaking runs/hides because he's not ready for a new person. it's the worst running/hiding job ever and yet everyone just goes "...ok social battery is dead let's leave him be"
Helmut's introduction is either completely normal or ASC getting SLAMMED into by a hamster ball
I also want to request just... every single little background job is played by Ford. No one ever reacts.
Aye, Bob would have a relatively normal introduction, doing his own thing. I haven’t written much about Bob but for my own characterization of him, I try to keep in mind the first interaction with Bob in the greenhouse before he gets pissed off, as well as the interactions in the island where he continues gardening and even has his comment about the campfire. And also remember his reaction on seeing Nick's Body (w/o knowing it was Helmut) and it was asking a familiar someone (who is Raz in that case) for information.
So my take on Bob is that he can handle his interactions his well enough. But would prefer plants and people he is friends with. His social battery on interactions with other people gets consumed faster. Perhaps when he was younger and less socially experienced after being alone for so long he would flee but being older, he can hold his ground especially with plants around. Part of the GnG character development with the gang stays and its being able to socialize nice yes.
But yeah if he does flee in the interaction, he’d say something about needing to work on his garden or talk to his husband, leaving, and if ASC tries to follow, they nearly trip on some plants and -- hey wait did those plants just move on their on? (aka me referencing plants removing themselves from the Astralathe on their own after Bob leaves to catch-up with Helmut scene).
ASC<-- clueless on other psychic powers other than the basics and is spooked out by sudden plant sentience.
As for Helmut intro well...
My mind instantly set the setting of the shot to be further into the future post the second game, where characters are able to do more of reconciliations and adjustments to the new normal daily life to be set post-game.
So that would mean that Helmut would be in back in his body and is at the last bits of the required recovery and adjustment back to his body.
Regardless, the idea of Helmut’s introduction being him pinballing around in the brain ball is very entertaining and certainly a good way to introduce those inventions are normal thing around this organization. Despite that regularity though, there is that line that something happened to his body that may or may not be elaborated on depending on if ASC knows about what happened to Helmut Fullbear at the Deluge of Grulovia (if they even know that). Then he continues on merrily zipping by to his husband.
Man I really am making it like ASC is an ignorant protagonist lad in need of exposition. We will think of what they know when we know why they are even in the Motherlobe in the first place, and if they are the protagonist or just a companion.
ASC would meet Compton at Lumberstack Diner, where he has cleaned it up and put it up to as a small business with Sam and Cassie. So that would be a nice and proper introduction experience. But then the food is served with animals balancing the dishes on their heads and someone can take the request customers have and successfully is understood by the employees. Again, surprising amount of higher intelligence from the animals and working like they are from Disney cooperating like they are doing a musical number.
Very tempted Cassie’s intro is her Green-Needle-Witch costume. Perhaps being sent out to the forest to find her and absolutely getting scared shitless instead.  Cassie has obtained better and actual bee-keeping clothes we see in the memory vault, but when she tends to the hive in Forgetful Forest, she dons on the costume for scaring and pranking opportunities on newcomers. It’s tradition now to send newbies into the forest just for this experience.
OH perhaps the order of meeting these two would be GNW, then Compton and Cassie at the diner where they Cassie whispers to Compton about ASC’s reaction in the forest as a joke between them. Compton is so amused but does give ASC a free comfort food, doesn’t explains and just says a line that vaguely  references that the experience in the Forgetful forest is quite normal, all while giving a knowing wink.
It is important to me that every psychic 7 member exude some form of cryptid energy.
Ford most of all.
That said, you would DEFINITELY see Ford just in the background doing various jobs. I am now considering that ASC actually met Ford before after bumping into him cleaning as a Janitor.
It could be right after ASC (& co. if that’s the protag thing) arrives in the setting, on their way to meet their guide or whomever they are suppose to meet. But in their rush they accidentally slip on a wet floor sign and bump into Ford. A quick shot of him being intimidating even as a janitor, but that quickly does away as he asks if they are alright and makes a sassy joke on them. Just a small quite interaction and a small apology before moving on to meet the guide just on the room around the corner. ASC explains and even mentions bumping into someone, attempting to point to where Ford was at, only to find it empty and clean. They are extremely confused. Guide continues the conversation to more important matters though and shows them around.
Following that would be small encounters with Ford doing many other jobs, and just like in psychonauts 1 before meeting Agent Cruller, they have no freaking idea what’s up with this guy and am I just imagining him everywhere? They never really had a chance to voice their question (nor get exposition about the psychic 7) before Ford’s proper(or more explained) introduction with the at the Diner. The audience then gets the idea that this guy is important and goes back to record all his previous background appearances like Blendin Blandin in Gravity Falls.
How he disappears so quickly is never explained for a long time. Audience and Characters don’t know about his teleportation yet. Only one question was remained and even more opens up. Cryptid Vibes remains.

Since I know it's your jam-- an episode where someone tries to abduct what they assume is an unimportant barbershop guy.
They realize a bit too late they accidentally just kidnapped Ford Cruller.
*Cackles*
You are right, this IS my jam. Outsider POVs are quite entertaining to imagine in my head, especially those who are not used to Psychonauts’ Oddities
Hell, I have a fic planned for an outsider POVs during the Motherlobe days while Ford was fragmented there, and how even stranger things seem to happen back then. (HC that weird things tend to happen around Ford, but people tend to not know that yet unless they hang around. Cryptid energies tainting the vibe around here) Buuuut yeah that’s in the giant pile of ideas like the rest of my projects so who know when I’ll be able to finish those.
ANYWAY back to the episode idea, gosh the hilarity of this situation. Why would they even kidnap a barber? Were there others or Just that one person specifically and all they got was that he is really good at styling hair? Did the kidnappers try to consider to know more about their target or did just go and do it, no questions asked, just research on how to do it?
I’m imagining the show is set post-pn2 so it’s even more absurd to think of it happening because Ford was entirely himself again. Perhaps the information provided to the kidnappers was a description of when he was still shattered. And somehow the one who hired them just wanted a haircut from the guy or something.
I can imagine two scenarios for how this would work, and the one idea of how to kidnap this old man is shown in this one fic ("Why Abducting Ford Cruller is a Bad Idea” by our dear asker here) I may or may have not contributed/talked on the idea for a bit ;3c
The other being Ford pretending to be like how he was when he was shattered and playing along with being kidnapped because they are kidnapping him as specifically as a barber and not because he is an agent and man who would hired people for such a thing? He could totally kick their asses, but he checked their heads and they have absolutely recognition that he is the Ford Cruller (hell maybe they didn't know who he was) but he thinks this is kinda amusing so let see where this goes.
And so more scenarios that could happen while kidnapped.
A) Ford absolutely gets into character and forces it to play out like a normal barbershop, stubbornly making people deal with that attitude of 'I'm doing my job so shut yer mouth sonny or else a cat's pile of hairball in the litterbox would look better when i'm done with you' before giving people(not just the boss) get haircuts. How nice it is might depend on their attitude. He disappears (aka teleport when no one is looking) after he has given everyone a haircut and only then does someone recognize him(or not, leaving everyone baffled by this barber cryptid).
B) actually switching to agent mode and having these folks reconsider their life choices by talking to them while in the middle of a hair cut. Might say or do something that finally gets someone to recognize him and his just there doing continuing to his thing. "Now we can have this the easy way where you all look nice and pretty afterwards, or the hard way." Its intimidating enough with the atmosphere change after he says the latter, and has been nice enough while actually doing the haircuts that the hired kidnappers just decide to maybe not mess with him. The one who hired could be kinda eh though and was planning someting so no good haircuts for that one-- oh and ass-kicking if it was an actual evil plot for the kidnapping reasons.
Psychonauts could be informed that Ford has been kidnapped but by then Ford is back, no worse for wear, and maybe like a dozen(or half) new clients and/or hires considering their life choices. Oh and some punk with an ugly hairstyle but anyway.

Not sure if I have talked on this for the Psychonauts show thing, but have an episode like Compton's cookoff with those gats judges! My fave would be that lol. How do you think it will go in a funny way and what would happen as Compton cooks them dishes lol so curious to know
oh my god just a Ram-It-Down episode that would be something haha
In-game we know that those guys are Compton’s own judgement and anxieties about his performance, grown too big that they become intimidating and overwhelming him.
So this time since I’ve been thinking of the show as a post-game thing, I’m thinking maybe Compton is trying to brainstorm of a new dish to make and surprise people with. The goats would be tinier, and maybe their criticism would be more substantial. Still, the way they say things would be strange to us. Admittedly a lot of the funny things in Compton's level are dark as hell, and otherwise punny and satirical what with the parody of tv shows bits.
(It’s a nice change for the goat judges to help criticize on what makes great dish. I like to think they are still a part of Compton, the one that is able to judge the quality of the food He makes. Just like Jasper in the first game-- people have a little critic, and when they aren’t too much to the point of putting yourself down, they can be helpful in improving your work and not be a reflection of yourself. These goats would be his own little judges testing the flavors, texture, looks and other food criteria on the dishes he makes)
Part of the episode could be that he goes on a search for ingredients for the dishes, but before that he’d just run down in his head first if they would even taste good in theory. A little hypothetical test first in the head to imagine if it would even work, before buying and spending money.
Now I’m not overtly great at creating wacky humour with characters, but I think it’d be funny if he let Sam cook and see how she does things. This family has a lot of strange humour that make you pause, and it’d be fun what kind comes out when they are together in the kitchen.
I-uh, definitely think Compton would try to guide Sam into not terrifying the animals she interacts with. Try is the word here, he might be better at helping her not make a menu of full of food poisoning, and lessons on edible ingredients.

Psychonauts Animated Series Running Gag: Raz has comically lots of stuff in his bag.
Ignoring the collect-athon aspect of the game, that boy keeps so many things in his bag it is kinda ridiculous.
That bag is has stuffed in comic books, snacks, numerous brains, scavenger items, psychoportal door, numerous psitanium, a whole-ass vacuum cleaner and many more mysterious collections in there.
It has as much space as the Zanotto's hammerspace hair
No matter the size it fits. if you open that thing's inventory UI you'd see a bunch of things in a bundle all over each other like an abstract piece of art. Raz pulls out the right item every time he needs it.
I need that bag

You know… that episode featuring Raz getting kidnapped by the Noodler and being excited about it. Makes a good first episode. The episode stars off with Raz starting his duty of being a Junior-Psychonaut. He learns that Junior-Psychonauts help Senior-Psychonauts by tracking criminals down. And he finds it fun work! And for that side plot of the episode is that Norma tries her hardest to become a senior psychonaut.
I'm not quite sure what is the formula for a good first episode, other than setting up the expectations on what the show would have.
If we are to start with the Noodler kidnapping scenario, I can imagine it starting with a bit of En Medias Res like the first episode of gravity falls. Then you go Raz narrates how he got there, starting with a super-serious-and-totally-not-cute side mission that he’d totally have in game.
Some characters like Norma are introduced as well plant her desire do more so she isn’t just a junior psychonauts. Hell it could even intersect with whatever Raz is doing, showing a bit of that established tension between the two via one-upping each other credit points or something. And with your idea, that could lead to kidnapping opportunities for the antagonist.
Also, at some point there needs to be a Razputin style TPT recap if there is a “previously on...” section of the episode.

Raz: Sasha I'm kidnapped by the Noodler and it's amazing!
Regrettably, I am not that good at making dialogue that sound in character. I can probably tell you the possible tone they’d have though!
I can think of two situations Raz could say that in:
1. In the middle of the situation, if Raz seem to be capable of sharing more before being interrupted.
Sasha would ask for his status, if he is ok, and if there is anything else he can tell them that could help them rescue him. ( ‘At the very least, Raz he isn’t that stressed out by the situation... and is actually nerding out about it hmm. Truly his mental defenses are great even in a situation like this’)
2. After being rescued
Kind of the same deal but this time actually saying the stuff since no immediate emergency is present, so something like "Good job keeping your cool, now we need to check up on you to make sure you are not injured” etc. etc.
Raz would probably note on his journal like a TPT letter about his experience of being Kidnapped and Rescued by his idols and seeing them in action from this side of things. Nerd
As the anti-kidnapping specialist (/lh joke about the ending of the first game), one should note down how to NOT get kidnapped again.
