Favorite Ship Dynamic: Sensitive Seme + Tortured Uke

I would like to thank @absolutebl for perfectly phrasing this dynamic in this post because it's an absolute favorite of mine. I love seeing someone who's been through the wringer finally get taken care of and loved by someone who adores them, I eat it up every single time.

To quote them directly, this dynamic consists of: An older sensitive sweetheart sunshine seme and a tortured dark scared tsundere uke.

This dynamic is a very close second for me so I'm including it. It's just so fun. It brings me so much joy to see an aloof black cat of a person be loved to within an inch of their life by their golden retriever boyfriend who has zero chill about loving them.

Ramblings on BMS Ep. 11

I know the conflict seems nonsensical, but it tracks ... at least to me. Punn has always put Ashi on a pedestal. That did not change during their relationship. You can especially see this in the way he carries himself around Ashi. He always looks small even though he's physically bigger.

Aside: Ja's acting in this role reminded me of an excellent post that @absolutebl wrote about how Saint Suppapong uses his entire body to portray the feelings and emotions of each character he plays as seen in the differences between Pete (Love by Chance) and Tutor (Why R U). In my opinion, Ja does the same thing here and can be added to the list of actors who use their physicality to bring characters to life.

The one time I recall a change in Punn's demeanor was during their last night together before Ashi went to Japan.

After Ashi apologizes for many things including making Punn cry (which he faked btw #actor4actor) and reassures Punn that he will never lose him, Punn's eyes change. His posture is solid and steadfast and his presence feels more substantial. The sudden change was preceded by this dialogue, which in retrospect sheds some light on the cause of their breakup:

For a moment, Punn believed that this was real. That he was worthy the great Ashi because never in his wildest dreams did he ever think that his idol could love him.

So when Title shows him Ashi's notes, they just confirm what he's always thought: he and Ashi couldn't possibly be together. They're from two different worlds so how could their love possibly be real.

And when Title asks, "Has Ashi ever told you that he loves you?", it is not meant to be taken as a stand alone question because we know that he has. There is a second implicit question: If Ashi has told you that he loves you, do you believe him after what you've just seen?

Y'all. I love JaFirst, both separately and as a pair. I will watch anything they do, even if it's quality is iffy....y'all know what I'm referring to. The director/cameraman/idk has been getting dangerously high on Ashi (First's) thighs in every NC scene they've done in this show. Like I swear the editor is cutting a single frame before we see something for real. Like I am watching that shit like this-

It really is the way that Punn so softly says Ashi's name like it is the most precious word in the whole world that is going to cause me to become unhinged. And the way Punn waited around to get Ashi safely to the next location. I already know I am about to become annoying about this show!

Poll: Favorite JaFirst BL Series

Once you get hooked on a BL couple, you want more. And if the BL Gods are listening, you don't just get more, you get variety.

With Ja and First, we've seen them be friends to lovers (TharnType Season 2), ramp up their romance (Don't Say No), cosplay every fan's fantasy (Be Mine SuperStar), and...well, I didn't even know Remember Me existed until today, but I'm sure somebody saw it.
