This turned out SUPER long so I’m putting it under a readmore; also I think I’m going to make it a series because I want to go a lot further with this but I suspect I’m going to run out of space soon

• Michael Emerson had been your best friend since you were kids, growing up in Phoenix only a ten minute walk from eachother...if you knew the right shortcuts. You knew all of them, thought you knew everything when you were younger, and you got yourself and Mike into a fair amount of trouble because of it...but he had always been a good kid, and was able to temper your more destructive elements.

• It surprised exactly no one when the two of you eventually started dating, nor did it surprise them when you broke up a few years later. You had always been inseparable, and the love had always been there, but over time you just couldn’t help but feel stifled. You had spent your entire teen years with him, and so many people liked to joke that Mike tamed you...at the rate you were going it seemed like sundresses, picket fences, and a couple of kids weren’t far off in your future...and that scared you.

• Mike was heartbroken when you left him, and for the first few weeks he absolutely held it against you, but due to your shared friends and history your friendship survived. Unfortunately, his parents’ divorce separated your iconic duo once again.

• When Mike’s dad showed up on your doorstep a few days after the move, you tore him a new one for basically abandoning his sons. He set a box on your porch, Mike’s Tools...his Grandpa gave them to him when he was just a little kid and they were one of his most treasured possessions...they were forgotten in the chaos of the move...His dad thought you might visit him sometime...

• That’s what led to you hopping in your shitass El Camino and making the drive to Santa Carla. Lucy had given you their new address before they left...you knew she hoped that maybe you and Mike would get back together some day, but that just wasn’t in the cards. At the end of the day he was just too good, too normal, for you.

• Driving through Santa Carla, you can’t help but be drawn to the sheer...strangeness of it all. Looking at the people, you feel like you actually fit in here. You definitely plan on hanging around the town for a while.

• Mike isn’t home when you get to his Grandpa’s house, but his mom could not be happier to see you. It’s a bittersweet reunion for you; she had been more of a mother to you growing up than your own parents, but after breaking her son’s heart you just don’t feel like it‘s right for you to call her “Mom” like you used to. She has a million questions, and she even suggests you stay with them for a while...you politely decline.

• You didn’t tell her that sleeping in your beat-up old car was preferable to her hospitality, but it would just be too weird, with how recent your breakup was. You and Mike are still friends, but you think sleeping under the same roof might be weird for him

• You still want to see him though, so you decide to explore the town on foot for a while; maybe run into him. You’re wandering around when you hear a familiar voice coming from the open door of a comic book store.

• As soon as you walk in you see the unmistakably garish patterns of Sammy Emerson’s signature style and break into a wide smile. “Long time no see, huh kid?” Almost the second he sees you he practically knocks you over with a hug, backing away in embarrassment after a second of thought. You and Mike were already best friends by the time he was born, so Sam was almost as much your little brother as he is Mike’s.

• “Now What was that about Vampires?” You had overheard Sam and the Frog brothers when you walked into the store...Sam rolls his eyes, and the Frogs assail you with some insane story about how the town is overrun with vampires. Some imaginations these kids have.

• You bail out of there pretty quick in favor of wandering the boardwalk, seeing what Santa Carla had to offer...before you know it, the sun is starting to set

• Maybe going out alone in “The Murder Capital of The World” wasn’t your smartest decision, but you weren’t exactly known for your self preservation; that had always been Mike’s job...but he isn’t here now.

• You grimace as you notice a group of surfers take notice of you. You had wandered a bit aways from the main crowd, so you aren’t sure anyone would notice if things went south... “Hey Sweetie.”

• “Get Bent.” You sneer as they close in on you. “Awe well that’s not very polite,” the leader says, giving your ass a firm squeeze. “You should try being a little nicer.”

• You humor him with the sweetest smile you can muster as you stomp as hard as you can on his foot. He calls you a bitch and you flinch as his fist flies toward you.

• You open your eyes when the hit never comes, and are shocked to see that someone had caught the guy’s fist. You look up at him and your cheeks flush; when was the last time you saw a guy this handsome? “This guy bothering you, babe?” He asks as he squeezes the guy’s fist so tight you hear something pop. The guy falls to his knees and gasps in pain as his friends back away nervously. You smile wickedly. “Not anymore.”

• You watch the douchbags storm away with their wounded pride, shouting empty threats, only distracted when your Knight in Shining Tight-Pants tucks your hair affectionately behind your ear. “So what’s a pretty thing like you doing alone in a town like this?”

• You bite your lip, eyeing him appreciatively; now that you could get a good look at him you can tell he is definitely your type...and you hadn’t been with anyone since you broke things off with Michael. “Hoping to run into an old friend, but I haven’t seen him.”

• He grins, clearly appreciating your look. “That’s too bad, wanna make some new friends?” His eyes are fixed on you with a certain hunger, there’s a palpable danger to him; it excites you.

• You shift your stance flirtatiously, leaning into him ever so slightly. “That depends, are they all as cute as you?” He pokes his tongue into his cheek with an amused grin. “Almost.”

• He takes your mischievous smirk as agreement, and throws an arm around you, leading you back to where his friends are gathered by their bikes. “This the chick you ditched us for?” The curly-headed blond asks, humor in his tone.

• “Well I for one am grateful for the timely rescue.” You grin. “How grateful?” The blond on the bike asks, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively; making you laugh. Your hero slaps at him playfully, and the favor is returned.

• Seemingly the leader of the group, the spiky-headed blond interrupts the roughhousing. “Paul, Marko, knock it off and let’s go.”

• Paul nods, climbing onto his bike and grinning at you seductively. “You wanna go for a ride, babe?”

• His smile is infectious, and his innuendo isn’t lost on you. Maybe it’s not your safest decision, but you climb on the back of his bike; earning a loud “HELL YES.” From him, and hooting and hollering from Marko.

• “Make sure you hold on tight babe, I’m about to take you on a ride you’ll never forget.” “Shut up and drive,” you tease as you wrap your arms tightly around his midsection.

• They all laugh deviously as they rev their motors to life, and you’re glad you’re holding on tight, nearly falling off when they take off from 0 to 100. “HOLY SHIT!” “What’s the matter sweetheart, can’t handle a little speed?”

• “That all you got?!” You ask, acting tough. It was a mistake though. “That all you got, Paul?” Marko asks, mocking you. “I dunno girl, I think that’s all he’s got.” The big brunette says, first time he’s spoken since you met the boys. “Fuck off, Dwayne!” Paul shouts. The leader gives his engine a rev, egging Paul on. You scream, forced to cling tightly to his back as his bike tears into the night. Marko pulls up next to you, mimicking you with a falsetto squeal.

• “Damn babe, already screaming for me,” Paul teases over the roar of his motor. You’d sass him back if you weren’t too busy burying your face in his back for dear life. You’d ridden on the back of Mike’s bike plenty of times before, but he was never this reckless. You’re as terrified as you are thrilled.

• By the time you start to get used to the speed, the boys are slowing down, and much to your surprise, they pull right up to Michael, who is standing with a girl you haven’t met. His eyes snap to you instantly and go wide with confusion, he hadn’t even been aware you’d come to town. “(Y/N)?”

• “This that friend you were looking for?” Paul asks. “Yeah, (Y/N), care to introduce us to Star’s new friend?” “David please.” You watch the exchange a bit uncomfortably, shifting on the bike, arms still around Paul. “Yeah...Hey Mike, I uh, your old man dropped your tools off at my place so I took them up to your mom.” Your chest feels impossibly tight. You aren’t jealous to see him with a new girl, but you had hoped that maybe he’d be a little happier to see you here...and him, the earring and that jacket...it doesn’t feel like Mike at all. Paul can feel you shrink against him.

• “Hope I’m not stepping on any toes here,” Paul says, giving your thigh an unsubtle squeeze; deliberately antagonizing Michael. You smile a bit awkwardly as Mike scratches the back of his head in discomfort. Star looks between the two of you, avoiding eye contact with David. “No, Mike and I used to date but...” “But it’s over,” Mike says, a bit too shortly, trying to cover the awkwardness with an unconvincing smile.

• David shoots him a not-all together-friendly look. “Well, you seem to be moving on well enough,” he says, gesturing to Star, who shrinks beside him. “So’s (Y/N),” Paul interjects, looking over his shoulder to smile at you. You smile back at him, despite the awkwardness.

• “We should go, Star,” David urges. Star hesitates, but climbs on the back of his bike. Michael looks mortified, and you can’t help but feel awful for him. You’re shocked when David nods his head toward Mike’s bike. “Come with us, Michael.”

• You know the look on Mike’s face; his first instinct is to back out, avoid trouble...but then he looks at you, and he looks at Star; like he’s worried what will happen to you if he doesn’t come along. “Mike,” You don’t have to come, you start to say, feeling Paul tense in your arms. “I’m coming.”

• “This is gonna be so sick,” Marko says with a practically manic grin, before Dwayne swats him upside the head. “Don’t be an ass.”

• “Don’t forget, (Y/N), hold on tight,” Paul says, side eyeing Michael a little less than subtly. Mike rolls his eyes and you shrug apologetically. This is awkward, for sure, but one way or another you want to see this through. Paul and the boys seem cool as hell, and at the very least seem like a good way to get back on the horse after getting over a long relationship.

• You squeeze Paul a little tighter, heart pounding against his back. He revs his engine. “You ready, babe?”

Hi! Sure I can. First, some links you might need: HSL Downloader for Chrome and Stream Recorder for Chrome they’re pretty similar extensions, so it’s really up to you. If you’re a mac user then I don’t know how to help you because I’m, how can I put it? Uh... poor.

Anyways, to the tutorial.

P.S.: I’ll put it under readmore because as you guys know I tend to ramble A LOT. 

P.S.2: As I pointed out on my previous ask, there’s this great tutorial from Val too. It might help to look at him. She uses jDownloader and it’s another option.

Now you just have to open the site ( that changed the url again ) so click here to access dizipal, and search for the dizi you want. As I said on my previous ask everytime I click on the Ara / Search bar it opens some new tab so I do what I do in most of the sites: I just write the thing on the url bar. How? Well, once you figure out how the site works it gets pretty easy. 

So, this is the url for the main page:

And you just have to add /dizi/name-of-the-dizi using - on the spaces. For example, here’s the page for Ask 101. Note that doesn’t use special characters, you can just write it.

This trick is very helpful once you start downloading the episodes, btw! See how the logic works? When you finish downloading the episode 7 you just change to 8 and press enter. And if you want to go to a episode from season 1 you just change the 2. It’s magic.

Now the download part starts, sorry about the useless ramble. Anyways. Once you click on one episode, or you write the episode you want on the url bar, it’ll open one tab with the video. You’ll press the play button that appears ( sometimes it starts by itself, tho ). First you get a reklami / the ad and you wait a few seconds to click to “reklami geç” to skip it ( very similar to youtube ). 

And then habemus episode.

Now what I like to do is to click play and wait for the video to buffer a little. 

If you already installed one of the extensions on your chrome, let’s go. I’ll be using HLS to explain here, but the other one works the same, I’m just lazy to install another.

On the tab your video is playing, you click on the HLS icon near the extensions thing. See? It’s this blue one where you can read HLS.

And something like this will appear:

TheN go ahead and click the arrow to get something like this:

See how it gives the resolution? Sometimes it’s HQ, but not always unfortunately. Then click on the arrow for one of the options and voilá, it’ll start downloading.

From here we’re pretty finished. You just have to remember to NOT close the tab. Once it gets on 100% it’ll start a download on your chrome ( similar to a png downoad ). After that it’s finished. I just won’t wait for the episode to finish because as I said earlier I am poor and my internet connection on this laptop somehow just refuses to download anything ( when I do this I use my other desktop, the same one I use for giffing ).

How do you begin designing a (poké) gijinka? I want to get into it. My main struggle is outfits that reflect the original design. I can do body shape/face well but outfits throw me off. Even more embarrassing bc i love fashion

Someone asked me something similar a while back and I gave sort of a joking answer--but I really do have a sort of process that I go about when I make Poke-gijinkas! I kind of feel like talking about it so I’ll do that now! Hopefully it helps you young Anon-chan. It kind of covers the whole thing, not just costuming, but it’s all the same process! It’s very long so I’ll put it under a readmore--sorry mobile folks.

Step 1 : Look up what other people have done

Lets say I want to draw a Golduck Gijinka (I just asked my roommate for a random pokemon lol) I usually start by googling “Golduck Gijinka” and see what comes up!

I do this for two reasons--One, I want to see what other people have done to get inspired! for a design like Goldduck, which is very simple, it’s easy to get stuck on the outfit. So seeing how others have handled it makes it easier for me to think of it! For example, I love the sea captain idea in the second row, and lower still is a Japanese style example!

The second reason I do this, is to see what other people have done and go against it! for example, here I see a lot of people have done caucasian, male or male presenting gijinkas, most of them with a surfer or water theme, and lot of them with spiky hair. While there are some elements that seem inherent (Like the spiky hair and blue color scheme) There’s no rule saying my gijinkas has to have those elements.

Step 2 : I consider outfit “themes” and how certain elements translate into those themes.

For example, for my Gengar gijinka, I wanted him to be a an estate owning gentleman, choosing that theme informed my decisions on what sort of outfit to put him--but I’ve seen a lot Gengars who are punk rockers, or graveyard keepers! I just wanted to put him in a suit because I noticed his dress shirt and waist coat could translate into the Gengar face! Which is one of the most, if not the most iconic element of Gengars design--his BIG TOOTHY GRIN AND FACE. I really wanted to get that iconic element incorporated into the outfit itself. 

Which is the second part of this step! translating elements.

Going back to the Goldduck example, As mentioned, the design is very simple It’s important to pull out the most iconic elements of the golducks design and make them as clear and straightforward as possible.

In Golducks case, his spiky hair and duck bill, as well as his red forehead dot is probably the most recognizable part of him. As mentioned as well, these usually translate to a hat bill, spiky hair, and a literal forehead dot.

However! There are many ways you can interpret these design elements!

Think of a theme, and how those shapes translate into those costume’s themes!

Step 3 : Enjoy what you’re doing!

If your goal is to stick as close to the pokemons theme and silhouette then the first creation, the young man in the wet suit and hat is actually the closest to Golducks design! Bottom line is to look at the most iconic part of the pokemon and think of how it can become different things. 

PHEW THAT GOT REALLY LONG AND IDK IF IT ACTUALLY HELPS but hopefully it makes my process a little less mysterious!

Pickpocket: You have incredibly nimble hands. Activatable perk. When within 2/3/5 meters of the killer, you can press the Active Ability button. Pressing it will cause a skillcheck to appear. If successful, you take one addon from the killer.

- Succeeding or failing the skillcheck disables this ability. - Succeeding the skillcheck notifies the killer and results in you becoming the obsession. - When you are put into the dying state, the killer gets their addon back.

Playing With Death: The adrenaline from close calls drives you. Every time the killer misses a basic attack directed towards you, you gain a Token up to a maximum of 2/4/5 tokens. For each token, you gain 2% movement speed while running.

“I’ve avoided getting caught for long enough, what makes you think I’d let it happen now?”

Repayment: You refuse to owe anyone anything. When rescued from a hook or healed by another person, you gain 10/15/20% increased speed to all actions while within 10 meters of the rescuer or healer.

“I’ll finish this up, and then we’ll be even. Sound good?”

steve: i thought he had potential to be a good dad figure in the house and could have potentially been close with sam during her breakdowns to comfort her like rockstar did

swaggy: he’s confident and knows what he wants. also he genuinely likes bayleigh and it’s cute how he treasures her and his other friends, even scottie despite his flip vote

winston: despite them being the opposing side, he actually listened to foutte/the hive a day or two before eviction when they told him to campaign. a lot of people wouldn’t just sit there and basically accept when someone calls you a dumbass for not putting in any effort, so props to him for accepting the reality of the situation. also was the second most likable of L6. i don’t know how that happened but--

kaitlyn: she treated her friends nicely (friends not named fessy/brett/tyler) and tried to have fun with them

rachel: the most likable of L6. really all she did was align with the wrong people and make racist comments with angela, which she should still be held accountable for, but i feel like her friendships were actually pretty genuine which gained massive respect

bayleigh: honestly, bayleigh is able to handle a situation with so much grace and pride and sometimes she doesn’t do that, but when she has to make up for her faults she sure knows how to do it and turn the charisma right the fuck on. also her social game before her hoh was godly, it had people shaking. 

rockstar: mom icon, she plays with her heart which is very admirable and it makes her extremely likeable because she is nowhere near fake and has a good sense of humor

scottie: a double agent rat who plays a somewhat mysterious game. it’s hard to tell where his head is at and it makes him interesting honestly. he’s also playing the most clean game so far, the one time he almost played his game too personal he immediately snapped back to his senses and owned up to it. respectable and charming, with cute witty personality and is an adorable flirt when he’s not busy playing the anti-hero and spilling to the other side. is also probably the smartest of the hive. good bi icon considering the rep we have this season

fessy: he has a big heart, again another genuine person. he’s a bit of a dumbass but he’s genuinely so attractive with a killer body and face and loyal (even if to a fault) and i feel like he’d be a great friend to be honest if he dropped some of his jealousy issues.

haleigh: caring and protective, the way she stood up for bayleigh genuinely almost brought me to tears and she has such a good heart. she’s also smarter than most players, and when she brainstorms she can sometimes come to realizations that should have been borderline impossible for anyone to realize from that perspective

jc: potentially a light-hearted spirit. perhaps a stress relief with how often he utilizes his unique humor (could potentially backfire and cause more stress). he has a nice body i guess. not straight.

brett: brett is the THIRD most likable member of l6 and really benefited from being separated from winston. he grew a personality outside of being loud and masculine (granted he’s still plenty of that). his interactions with the hive, despite being fake and purely for the sake of recon, are great and entertaining moments. he really knows how to turn on the charm with a 10/10 body that he isn’t afraid to flaunt, a fabricated “understanding and calming” attitude, and a face that i’m sure many people like. he’s a great spy and his interactions with scottie in particular are the highlight of his stay. i think he’s straight despite the amount of sexual tension between the two (even more so than brett and winston) but they’re still a fun duo to watch when i’m not busy hating everything else abt brett. undeniably the bset social game in the house to make up for the worst comp game in the house

sam: she’s an anamoly. like she’s not a bad person, misguided yes, but she does genuinely care about people and has a big heart (maybe too big for her own sake). she also made up with haleigh which i give her props for because we all know how irrational she gets and her “one big family” attitude is annoying at times but i can’t 100% hate it, i can see the angle she’s going for (aka don’t play like a personal asshole)

I actually tried to write a sequel to the adultery AU a while back, but it somehow morphed into a Laurent POV version of the story. It’s only 1.5k but I’ll post it under the read more so that I can give you something at least hahaha.

As for an actual sequel, I wanna say I’ll probably do it???? after I finish The Time Travel AU.

“Are you going anywhere for the summer, Laurent?” Isander asks. His dark curls in Laurent’s periphery make him look like someone else.

“Maybe,” Laurent says. Exam block will be over in three days and he still hasn’t decided. There’s an unanswered message on his phone from Auguste, asking the same thing. Are you coming home?

He loves his family, but it’s an odd time in his life. Going home would mean dinner parties and events he doesn’t care about. It would be his father pretending to care about his middle son. It would be Nicaise, demanding all of Laurent’s attention while simultaneously insisting he doesn’t want it.

It would be Damianos, bronze skinned and grinning, giving him playful looks that never last long enough. Pining, is the word.

“I might stay here,” Isander is saying, “if you do too, maybe we could-”

“I have a boyfriend,” Laurent lies.

Isander escapes not long after that. Vannes puts her textbook down to give him a long look.

“What?”

“You didn’t need to make up a boyfriend,” she says.

He looks away, jaw clenched. He wonders if in another life, he would have said yes to Isander. Up until now they’ve gotten along, and there’s a sweet quality in the other boy that lends itself to thoughts of soft candlelit nights and holding hands under tables. But in this life, he knows that even if he went off with Isander, that wouldn’t be the name he’d call for in his dreams.

Still, Laurent had considered inviting Isander home with him. Not to fuck, but to stand him next to Jokaste, and look at Damen and say, ‘See? I like your colouring too’.

“Get laid,” Vannes says, standing. “This jilted lover thing you’ve got going on doesn’t suit you.”

It doesn’t count as being jilted, he wants to tell her, when the object of your affections doesn’t even know about them.

He texts Auguste back. Only if I can stay at your place. He can avoid family events for a while. Laurent feels so full of longing that he doesn’t know what he’ll do the next time he sees Damen. Something stupid, probably.

He opens the door and Damen is there, upset and looking for Auguste. Laurent lets him in.

They have a moment of connection and Laurent is helpless but to kiss him. He knows he’ll be rejected, because Damen isn’t the adulterous sort.

Damen kisses him back.

“Take me,” Laurent says, thinking now’s the moment he’ll cast me away. He has to come to his senses.

But Damen lies him back along the couch and kisses his mouth, his cheeks, his neck. Laurent wants to cry and cling to him. He’s terrified and elated. Instead he just gasps, clings onto Damen and feels like something that’s newly been made whole.

It’s like he’s been made of ice for all of his life, and Damen has come and set him on fire. When they make love it’s both too much and exactly what he needs. Laurent can sees it like burn scars all over his body, that he looks up and thanks Damen for. Every kiss, every touch is an act of violence to Laurent’s heart. He’s hit the point of no return and yet he still continues to tumble past it.

Take me, he thinks, until there’s nothing left.

It’s weird how easy it is to knowingly hurt another person. Jokaste is only guilty of the same crime as Laurent - she’s in love with Damen. But she’s been allowed to have him for the last two years: it’s Laurent’s turn now, and he can turn off thoughts about how much this would destroy her with ease when it comes with Damen’s steady fingers trailing down his clavicle.

It feels more real on New Year’s Eve. He hasn’t seen Damen all day, until there he is, in the midst of both of their families, holding Jokaste’s waist. The countdown is the worst part.

Everyone has someone: his parents, Damen’s parents, Kastor is kissing his wife, and Auguste and Kashel have snuck off to kiss in private. The last ten seconds of the year, Laurent spends alone, in a corner, watching Damen and Jokaste sharing the same glass of champagne, giggling while they goad each other to finish it before the new year officially commences.

The glass is empty and set aside right in time for Damen to sweep her into a long kiss at midnight. Jokaste wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him with laughter still left on her red, red lips. She looks buoyantly happy. Her dress is white. Bridal. Laurent wants to disappear.

Their parents, and Kastor’s family, all retreat to the sitting room after midnight, to share glasses of cognac. The rest of them decide to make use of the pool, and then everyone is stripping down and throwing each other into the water.

Damen spots when Laurent attempts to retreat inside from the festivities and throws him over his shoulder. Pressed together like this, the warmth of their bodies mingles. Laurent is weak: he craves Damen’s touch in a way that permeates his bones. Everyone cheers when Damen throws Laurent in the pool, but the sound is distant to his ears.

There’s a moment underwater, where he thinks he’d like to stay down there, away from everyone. Surely once his head breaks to fresh air, the water will have washed away his casual mask, and they’ll all see it in his eyes. His heart will only ever beat for Damen.

Arms enter the water and pull him up until he’s face to face with Auguste. He doesn’t know what his expression is, but Auguste’s gaze makes him feel vulnerable.

“Happy new year, Laur,” his brother says softly, and in an odd display of affection, he pulls Laurent into a hug and kisses his temple. “I hope it treats you well.”

There’s a moment later that night - or early that morning - that Damen finds a moment to pull Laurent aside. He kisses Laurent like a benediction. “Happy new year,” Damen says.

It’s an odd sensation to simultaneously have someone and pine for them. “Happy new year,” he says back.

Of course, the situation is unstable. It’s impossible for something like this to stay a secret in families as close knit as theirs are. Laurent, however, is so clouded by his feelings that he doesn’t anticipate this.

Maybe he has a chance to avoid it.

“You said you’d take me to the beach before you go back,” Nicaise pouts.

“I’ll take you next week,” Laurent says. He’s trying to read.

“No you won’t,” Nic says. “You’re never even here.”

“I’m trying to read, Nicaise.”

“You don’t even care,” he says. “You don’t even care that you promised me.”

“I said I’ll take you next week.”

“I don’t want you to take me anymore,” Nicaise snaps. “Jokaste said she would. She said that she’ll be like my sister when she marries Damen. I’d rather have a sister than you.”

It’s a trapping sensation, being a middle child. Spending time with Auguste makes him feel older, more mature. Nicaise just drags Laurent down to the level of a child. He drops his book.

“You don’t know anything, Nicaise,” Laurent says, his voice too harsh. “Go away, I’m sick of you.”

It’s not entirely his fault. It’s impossible to be born into a world where Damen exists, a world where he gets to see him almost daily for most of his life, and not fall in love with him. Damen is made with the beauty of a Greek statue, and all the warmth of life itself, and Laurent doesn’t remember a time when he didn’t adore him.

Dinner is tense only in Laurent’s mind, at first. He knows it’s not Jokaste’s fault, but he can’t help but hate her. Every attempt at comradery is like her rubbing salt in the open wound that is his feelings for Damen. He’s rude to her. Nicaise keeps kicking him under the table.

Then, the great reveal: Nicaise knows about the affair and so does Auguste. And now, so does everyone.

When Damen stands to go after Jokaste, it feels like the most vulnerable moment of Laurent’s life. This is the moment Laurent wanted to avoid: the moment when Jokaste has a chance to convince Damen to stay away from him. If she and Damen reconcile after this, he feels like he’ll die.

“Well,” Auguste says, knocking back half a glass of scotch in a move he could have only learnt from Kashel. “Now I actually do need a refill. Laurent.”

Laurent stands and follows. No one tries to stop him. It’s all so painfully awkward, but he’s too busy trying to keep his expression at least somewhat dignified. The corners of his eyes are hot.

The door that separates the sitting room from the dining room shuts and, finally alone with only his brother, Laurent can feel the tears coming. Auguste takes one look at him.

“Oh,” he says, grabbing Laurent’s shoulders. “What a mess you two have made.” He pulls them over to the couch and makes Laurent sit with him, face pressed into his brother’s shoulder. Laurent can’t remember the last time he cried.

“Are you okay?” Auguste asks softly, when Laurent finally pulls his head back.

“I think I’m relieved,” he replies. “I think I would have kept it happening forever, if nothing had changed.”

(Gary anon) I'm kicking myself for missing out on the ride too when I was THAT close to it; thankfully FMA tends to experience a fandom resurgence every once in a while. (A series that can have painful scenes and funny ones right next to each other without disrupting the flow; not a easy thing to pull off.) There's been jokes for months about how "steamy" things are gonna get once Goh meets Gary. If what I've read happens, them jokes are gonna have some merit. xD

(Part Deux) (I still don't really think Gary is gonna be Goh's [main] rival, but I feel like he will a proper introduction to the concept for him when he sees Ash and Gary's chemistry) Hehe, cute. I like to think he gives pet/nicknames or insults based on how he feels about you. If it's the former, he likes/respects you in some way. Insults is a clear dislike, but enough for it to be personal. If you don't fit into either category, well, he secretly enjoys it keeping you up at night. xD

(Part 3) I've seen even the TCG crowd get hit by this now because of scalpers, I feel bad for kids and anyone who just wanted to collect for fun. (I knew this was gonna happen eventually with how crazy it was getting, but still. I miss 2016, it was closest we had to world peace in this franchise) For pseudos, Dragonite felt like Ash mon like Goodra, but obviously back then, the writers have always been picky on giving the main cast anything that's too powerful early on.

(Part 4) (And if they did, it came with a price) With all his development now, Ash having one makes sense, but it still was a shock when it happened. And for a first capture too. (There's even comments on how little his team interact with each other currently; which IS weird for a series staple) It's a bad feeling definitely, it's why I'm generally picky on how I consume stuff currently airing or is popular at the moment. There's a big difference between waiting weekly for episodes

(Part 5) vs. bingeing something already finished or near completion) Same here, honestly. I don't mind interacting if there's common interest or we're all doing some fun event together. But if I can stay in my corner and just spectate, I'll take it. (Hope the episode lightens all of our spirits.)

Yeah, thankfully the FMA fandom is still going strong. It really is incredible how FMA balances humor and tragedy without any of it really feeling forced or out of place. The writing is amazing, as a writer I feel like I should be taking notes. (And it's visually stellar too--Hiromu Arakawa's style pairs so beautifully with Studio Bones's animation.)

The interactions between Goh and Gary should be fun, I'm looking forward to seeing that. Yeah, Goh's main rival/rivals are likely to be different, but who better to introduce Goh to rivalry than Ash's first and most iconic rival?

Yeah, the stuff going on with the TCG crowd is honestly scary. I can't imagine having to deal with that when I was collecting cards for fun as a kid. I've got friends who work in retail and it's been rough on them too.

I'm forever missing that Pokemon Go summer, that really was a special time. 2016 was one of the worst years of my life but I was still so happy that summer because it was just... such a pleasant time to be a Pokemon fan.

Yeah, Ash catching Dragonite so early on was surprising (but I am so glad he does have it because it is precious). Come to think of it, we really haven't seen much of his team interacting with each other and that is strange. I feel like there could be some fun dynamics between them if they got to interact more.

Yeah, it's a real bummer. It always sucks when a series you enjoyed goes in a direction where you can't enjoy it anymore.

It really is the most pleasant fandom experience to just find a cozy little corner and mostly chill there. Every once in a while I'll come across somebody with a shared interest who seems nice (or they'll come across me) and end up striking up a friendship, it's fun and chill.

Here's hoping it does! It's just three days away now and I am vibrating with excitement.

dear person i hate,

to start this off: i have so, so, so many things i want to say to you. like, uh, tbh? i dont go into things expecting to hate people in the end, and i’d be lying if i said this is the first time it’s happened because it’s actually not. this has happened way too many times tbh and that actually makes me sad? especially when it goes from being someone i care about to someone i cant stand because of the things that have happened between us. 

but here i am, drafting this to you. like you’ll ever see it, tbh.

some things aren’t meant to be in any shape or form. the thing that hurts me the most is that we were close friends to the point where i felt comfortable talking to you about my story, the things that have happened in my life and why i am the way that i am today. you were there for me during some of my shitty moments, you calmed me when nothing else did, and now? here we fucking are.

here we fucking are. we don’t talk, we don’t do anything, and i sit there and stare at your fucking icon wondering where i went wrong, what did i do because that’s all i’ve ever done. it’s always been my fault. but not this time. this time you fucked up.

i can stand hating someone who hurt me quick and fast - that’s fine. i don’t forgive people who open me up, make me feel welcome and loved, and then hurt me over and over. i don’t forgive the people that make me feel like i matter and then rip that away from me. i don’t forgive the people that make me feel less alone and then disappear out of my life. you don’t get to do that - not this time. you don’t get to treat me like other people, to act like i’m your fucking sweet pal who always knows what to say and how to say it when you’re just so sad - and then you disappear in the moments i needed you here the most.

what makes me upset is the fact i wound have sung your praises before i realized what a piece of shit you are. i would have sat here and gushed about how happy you made me, how good everything was, how you cared. and i sit here and i ask myself did you ever really fucking care? was i ever someone you wondered about? did you ever think “i hope she’s doing okay” because if you did, YOU NEVER SHOWED IT. thats what hurts. the fact i give and give and give and you never give back. is it selfish to ask for something in return? is it selfish to say that i want something too? if it is, well, then im selfish and i embrace it.

with certain people i hate, i could sit here and say “well they hurt me because of x” and it’d be something plain and simple to state - it’d all be straight facts. but with you? with you, i waste word after word describing about how everything fucked up and how things changed and how you changed and maybe about how i changed to. but there’s a difference between us. i try to change for the better. you sit there and wallow in your own fucking self pity and expect for everyone to butter you up with praise and ‘you’re doing your best’ when i see you sit there, twiddling your thumbs and never actually fucking trying. and the sad thing is that you could be trying. but i can’t fucking see it.

why were you drawn to each one of your characters?

ruth balakov  - i’ve had her character in my head for such a long time, and i was finally just like “fuck it! i’m gonna write her!” bc i love parks and rec, but i just can’t play leslie bc there’s too much history and stuff and i really wanted to play a quirky nina fc bc i used to have one that i loved, and it just seemed like a perfect fit

tutankhamun “tut” mcmullen  - tut’s origin story is one of the best!!! so, @idyllicism and i decided to use this randomizing character generator to do a fun random thread, and it gave me tut (which is why his name is so out there) who has grown so close to my heart, and i am thankful

jughead jones - tbh i added jughead bc i wanted to write him properly aKA ASEXUAL! I’M LOOKIN AT U RIVERDALE

melody valentine - tbh… i added her bc i wanted to write her with jenna :) and also i loved archie comics as a kid and always thought melody was so beautiful and her voice came easily to me so !

mark darcy - buckle in, this is gonna be a long ride. bridget jones’s diary is one of those movies that i love to death. it’s one of my sick movies, it’s one of my sad movies, my homesick movies, it helps me feel better. so, watching bridget jones i’ve always identified with both of the lead characters, but there’s something about mark that was especially easy for me to access. i’m still trying to figure out exactly what it is, but there’s something to him that i just…understand, if that makes sense. when i decided to make a multi-muse, he was one of the very first characters i had as a muse bc i knew i had to add him. he’s in my heart and soul. 

choi han-kyul - so han-kyul is another one of those characters who i just really strongly identify with. in coffee prince, he’s someone who undergoes some huge development in who he is, and when i saw the drama for the first time, it aligned with some things i was dealing with in my own life. his relationship with his father, his coming to terms with his sexuality, his maturation, his longing to live up to his own potential, it all just hit me. another heart and soul character. 

dr. noelle akopian - i added her for the funsies

greg serrano - i think i added him because he helps me come to terms with some real life stuff i have going on and also because i loved his development and wanted to explore that past what the show was able to give us

maya - honestly she’s the most pure being, and i just had to add her

blair warner - i cANNOT fuck this is taking so much longer than i thought it would, but i have so many muses, and want to give them all their proper due, and fuclasfhdads. so from the beginning, i walked into a gas station this summer, and one of the employees was like “oh my god, you look exactly like blair from the facts of life!” and i was like “haha thanks!” bc i didn’t know who she was, but my dad who was with me was like “oh my god she does!” and then he was like “she’s like her more than just in looks too” meaning our personalities were similar. so OFC i had to watch this show to see my doppelganger. and WOW i was amazed bc she’s the closest i’ve ever seen to myself in physical aspects but also we’re very similar personality-wise too, and after my first episode, i fell in love, and i just had to add her as a muse

jo polniaczek - i didn’t expect jo, but after i watched that first episode, i fell in love just as i did with blair. honestly, the writers and cast can say she’s straight all they want, but jo is a gay icon, and it’s just so cool to see a character like that who’s so layered. jo is sensitive but also tough. she’s gone through a lot, but still holds such compassion and i love her to death and fuckfdsakfasf she’s honestly ruined all human beings for me now bc she’s the ultimate. 

emily gilmore - so, emily is another one of those relating characters. what can i, a 22 year old baby bi, have in common with an old middle aged straight? well, let me tell you: a LOT. i identify so much with the way that emily has tried all her life to succeed in the society she was brought up in and having set ways of doing things and then just…letting go and trying to make herself happy. it’s inspiring and i love her. 

meredith quill - listen, i’m not a fan of superhero movies, but i like the guardians of the galaxy series, and when i saw the second movie, i fell instantly in love with meredith and her light, and i had to add her

alice longbottom - i have never read the books, but i’ve read a lot of fandom stuff, and i just love the longbottoms, and i like that there’s a certain amount of freedom there to explore who she is and her story

arthur weasley - arthur reminds me of my dad, and his voice comes super easily to me which is why i added him

victoire weasley - again, i like the amount of freedom i’m afforded in figuring out who she is and all that

helga g. pataki - this is another heart and soul character. as a kid, i was also mean and dramatic and precocious. i was a LOT like helga. even today, i struggle with trying to soften myself for the benefit of others because i can come across as intimidating (idk why??). but i just…it’s just like damn. i get you, helga. we both have an alcoholic parent, tense relationships with our older sisters, and we both don’t have a TON of friends and just feel kind of…out of place, i guess, in the world we live in. we’re a little out of place and i just get her. i understand her, and i’m glad that she exists. 

effie trinket - she’s just such a fascinating character, and i want to explore her more

katniss everdeen - i get her

jane villanueva - see, jane is someone who i think i look up to. she’s someone i wish i could be more like. i chose to add her as a muse because i love her and just want to give her a nice life bc lord knows she deserves it

michael cordero i added him bc he loves jane and is a huge dork and so caring and i lvoe him

rogelio de la vega - in a weird way, this is another character i relate a lot to. we’re both dramatic and a little vain, but we also care a lot about our family and most of the time, our intentions are good. he’s honestly such a fun character, and i’m glad i added him. 

elle woods - i added her bc she’s amazing??? one of the best people of all time??? and her voice came easily to me so i was like “all right!!!!”

ryan atwood - he’s my fave character from the oc. i love his development, and i love how he’s not exactly who you expect him to be. you think he’s gonna be this big troublemaker, but actually, he just wants a stable life, and he wants the people he loves to be happy. he just wants peace

pam beesly - she’s another heart character. i think a lot of people find it easy to relate to pam bc she goes through so many relatable things, and her story is overcoming insecurities and becoming more confident, and i think that’s something a lot of people can see themselves in. 

fitzwilliam darcy - i mean, i’ve always loved pride & prejudice, and i’ll be damned if darcy isn’t the easiest character for me to understand (a lot like mark)

jane bennet - she holds a special place in my heart bc people have said i’m like jane, and i’m always like “i wish” bc she’s the softest, most pure, most kind person, and i just needed that positivity in my life

queen clarisse renaldi - mY LOVE i love how they made her so layered in the movies, giving you hints of her background. i’ve always been interested in exploring her past, so i added her as a muse (another character whose voice came easily to me)

sabrina fairchild - sabrina is one of those movies i would watch after school was i was younger. i loved the romanticism of it and the costumes and music, and as i grew older, i started to think that it would have made for a more interesting movie if sabrina dumped linus at the end rather than ending up with him. what’s so interesting about that movie is her growth. she goes from a very dark place and undergoes some major development while still holding underpinnings of her past despite desperately trying to leave them behind. 

capheus onyango - i love sense8, so i knew i wanted to add muses or a muse from there, and going through all the characters, capheus’s voice was the one that came most easily to me. he’s more than just his optimism, and i love having him in my roster bc he has such warmth and compassion for those around him. he worries about how his actions will affect others, and i just have such immense love for him. 

princess fiona - me??? i grew up on shrek, and i love it in the most unironic way possible. i sincerely adore the movie and the musical, and fiona is a character i’ve always loved and related to a little bit. 

shrek - but more than relating to fiona, i probably relate to shrek more. my family has always joked that i’m like an onion too and that i have layers just like shrek. he grosses me out a lil with all the farting and earwax, but otherwise, i love shrek and think that for living alone for years after being abandoned by his parents, he was able to grow rather quickly once meeting other people, and shrek is good in my book

charles brooks - he’s another darcy like character, although i don’t love him as much. i added him bc lbr the younger fandom needs him

josh - mY SON i love josh and i think that he has so much growing to do, and i love how the show has left some of his background open so that i can take a lil bit more liberty in figuring him out. i also love his adventurous spirit and his ease while also being so loyal and loving. he’s someone i really love. 

chuck bartowski - chuck is one of those types that’s easier for me to write, and i think it’s just cause one of our core values is the same: family. family is one of the most important things to him, and it’s one of the most important things to me, and i think we just get each other in that aspect and more. 

denny duquette - “i’m a man! i’m a strong virile horse of a man stuck in the body some weak sick bastard that I don’t know, like or recognize. now if you knew what that feels like, you would have never convinced me to let a battery run my heart. if you knew what that feels like izzie, you would have let me go.” this is why. 

which muse is the most fun to write for?

again, i have fun with all of them, but probably rogelio. he’s just so much fun to write. helga is a lot of fun too! and ruth!

is there another muse you’ve been thinking of adding or writing for? who?

i mean, there are always more muses i’m thinking of adding. i’ve thought about adding na ae-ra from cunning single lady, but i’m pretty sure no one would write with her, so i haven’t added her yet. 

i’m planning on watching the good place, and i just know i’ll probably wanna add someone from there

adding someone from frasier would be cool, but like…i highly doubt there would be an audience for them. like i’d love to write niles or smth, but idk if anyone’s even watched it. i mean, that hasn’t stopped me before, but i’m not pressed about it rn

i’ve always been wanting to add elizabeth from the crown because she’s another one of those characters i just super strongly relate to, but seeing as how she’s actually a real person, i haven’t. this is where i get a little confused because i know she’s a real person, but also, the show takes liberties, and she’s not actually queen elizabeth. like if i could take her character and make her not the real queen of england i would? but i just don’t know about what other people think of that? i dont knowslfjhads it’s a weird situation.

Baahubali Question Meme

Brainchild of the awesome @avani008 ( I drafted this before you tagged me in your reply LOL ). So I’m putting it under readmore after the first answer cause they’re all really long…

1. Which language do you prefer to watch the movies in and why? If you’ve watched multiple versions, are there any translation choices in one version that you prefer?

Both the movies, I watched them first in Tamil. And then in Telugu. Those two are my only preferred versions cause I love hearing the original voice of the actors as I’m more used to it ( I grew up watching movies from these two film industries ). Also, very recently I came to know that though the story was written in Telugu, the script was written entirely in Tamil and then translated to Telugu ( just few parts were done the other way around ), so most of the Tamil dialogues from both the movies hits straight home with me. My two ever favourites would be, 

இக்கணம் முதல் மரணம் அணைக்கும் வரை நான் உன்னுடையவன் தேவசேனா.  I’m yours till death embraces me, Devasena ( Amarendra )

2. Your favourite song picturization.

Tough!! Its a close call between Irul Konda Vaanil ( Mamatala Talli ) and Vandhai Ayya ( Dandalayya ). I low-key love Shivam ( title cards track ) and Manohari. I love the waterfalls alone in Dheerane ( Dhivara ). 

3. Devasena or Sivagami?

If you knew me, you wouldn’t ask me that question. Both had their best qualities and their fatal flaws. I can’t choose. But I’ll put them in this order, Sivagami And Devasena. 

4. It’s not a fandom without shipping. Share a headcanon about your OTP, or your NoTP, or that one non-canon ship that is intriguing, or all three!

OTP of all otps: Amarsena — Every time Amarendra excuses someone mocking him ( I’m imagining there would be plenty times in the one year they stayed as a couple within the castle ), I can’t help but picture Devasena giving a hard nudge to his side or challenging him and everyone present openly like she did at her baby shower ceremony to do something about it.

5. Kuntala or Mahishmati?

Mahishmati, my url says it all!! Mahishmati endured while Kuntala burnt ( all thanks to my King, don’t hate me ).

6. The scene(s) you could watch over and over again.

That one iconic scene: When Deva walks over Amarendra’s shoulders ( I’m Kattappa in that scene ). Second best: When Sivagami power walks into the throne room with the baby in her hand and kills Martanda saying “Raja Thandhiram!!”  Third best ( and also the one I melt with ): When Bhalla talks to the crown flexing those abs and muscles, glinting like a dream in gold in that fire light… 

7. Like it or not, get in touch with your inner Bijjaladeva: think of your favourite character, and tell us one thing that annoys you about him/her.

Looks at Amarendra during Dandalayya: How the hell is he always so popular despite being the pauper?? 

8. Kattappa or Bhalladeva?

BHALLALADEVA. He did what he wanted to do or constantly found a twisted way to do it. To be honest, Kattappa should’ve take a few lessons from him cause I’m thinking Bhalla had that attitude ever since he was a kid…

9. Time to channel Amarendra instead: think of your least favourite character, and do your best to come up with one positive thing about him/her.

Dandanayakka: He is loyal to his friendship with Bhalla and thus would prove to be loyal to the throne (??)

10. Everyone’s got an unpopular/controversial opinion, no matter what the fandom. Let’s hear yours!

Bhalla who killed his own mother should’ve killed the mother of his son too just because she wasn’t Devasena ( or she might have died too but honestly no, Bhadra couldn’t have been adopted but could definitely be a surrogate son ). 

Being a vassal kingdom to Mahishmati, maybe if Devasena and her brother had remembered to turn down the marriage offer in a little more respectable way or had even mentioned that Deva was interested in someone else or something along the lines— the entire catastrophe that happened after Deva’s arrival in Mahishmati could’ve been prevented. And also, I’m sorry to say this, no matter how much of an ideal and exemplary woman Devasena is, I couldn’t help but cringe at the less than respectable way she treated Sivagami ( Bhalla & Bijju don’t matter honestly ). A woman of her wisdom and who possesses so much clarity, could’ve handled it all more tactfully rather than erupting like an impatient volcano. The one year in exile is what made her perfect. And sadly, we could see the same problem reflected in Mahendra. He may look like his father but is carbon copy of his mother.

11. Choose your favourite fandom sorting mechanism (i.e. Hogwarts houses, daemons, Game of Thrones houses) or more than one if you’re really feeling adventurous. Tell us what results you think the main Baahubali characters would have.

Hogwarts houses would be my obvious choice. Sivagami would be in Ravenclaw. Amarendra would be a Hufflepuff. Devasena is undoubtedly Gryffindor. Bhalladeva is a complex puzzle who could fit in both gryff and slyth, but would be a Slytherin because of his slyness and thirst for power that you cannot see in a gryffindor. Kattappa is Gryffindor. Bijjala and Bhadra, again Slytherin. Avantika and Mahendra are Gryffindor. 

12. Let’s pretend Rajamouli has decided to make a oneshot film about any period of time not covered by the films, whether before, after, or during the events we see–but only one. What would you want it to be about?

I don’t know if this opinion exists, but I want to see the childhood days of Amarendra and Bhalla because no child is born evil. I need to see what changed Bhalla to the way he is ( there needs to be a bigger force than his father’s temper tantrums cause he obviously knows that, to be in power he needs to be like his mum and not Bijju. He knows for his word to be law, he cannot simply throw them around. ) 

I also want to see the one year that Amarsena lived within the palace after the wedding which I’m sure most of you wish for as well. 

13. Avantika or Mahendra/Shivu(du)?

I would honestly pass them both but since I don’t have another option, I would choose Avantika. She has her head screwed on right ( well, better than Mahendra I mean ).

14. What three movies/books/TV shows would you recommend to fellow fans suffering Baahubali withdrawal?

God, this is gonna be awfully hard cause I’m not yet suffering from any withdrawal symptoms. My mind is still roaming somewhere in Mahishmati and refuses to come back.

So Movies, I would suggest you to look forward to Nene Raju Nene Mantri cause I see so many parallels between those two characters of Rana ( I may very well be talking to all the Bhalla fans in here ).  Mirchi is a roller-coaster. If you need more of Rajamouli’s magic in a historical setting, try Magadheera. For Books, you can try the Rise of Sivagami. Also The Shiva Trilogy, you will love it trust me. Or any versions of Mahabharatha, my favourite is Palace of Illusions which is the entire story from Draupadi’s perspective. An immensely satisfying read it was. I don’t have time for TV shows really but Game of Thrones anyone?? ( gosh I still got one whole season to catch up to before the recent season )
