Nilou's annoyed customer service smile is so relatable 😂 there's always that one customer/coworker who constantly says annoying shit and you just have to smile and move on 🥲

I've been getting increasingly pissed off at stuff like this with Helluva Boss for a while now so I'm running out of room for patience and giving the benefit of the doubt.
I'm not Deaf/HoH but I do have audio processing disorder and I have been involved with the Deaf/HoH community through learning Auslan and needing some of the same accommodations in my life so it's becoming increasingly apparent just how much they get short-changed by a society that does not care and has to be pressed constantly for the bare minimum of accommodating anyone other than the expected default abled demographic.
I'm sorry but while having a character who signs was fucking amazing to see even as a Hearing person
and it's been genuinely great to have the last episode of Season 1 with actual subtitles and all of Season 2 up to this one having actual subtitles
SEASON 1 STILL HAS FUCKING AUTO-GEN
We have to read T R A N S C R I P T S to understand what's going on in the entirety of Season 1 except for the final episode because while Hearing people who aren't affected by needing actual subtitles seem to think autogen and otherwise having to engage with just a transcript is good enough, news flash, IT ISN'T. Autogen has been getting better but it still fucks up (if your accommodation doesn't bring everyone up to speed with the same access as abled people your accommodation isn't good enough) and if your video is older like Season 1s are then they're FUCKING AWFUL. Even good autogen takes more energy to engage with than proper subtitles making it still more difficult than it needs to be to engage with a video.
This has annoyed me for a while but I was hoping they just needed some time to sort out someone to go make subtitles and put them up.
At the very least I figured ok, they're at least putting proper subtitles up for Season 2. Took them until OOPS came out to do it if I recall correctly, but they did it. Strange they stopped at the end of Season 1 but ok, whatever. Give them time.
Nothing has changed. It's been 3 years and nothing has changed.
Then The Full Moon dropped directly after Mammon's Magnificent Musical. I was expecting there to be proper subtitles since Season 2 now is being given them upon release.
...
So basically fuck anyone who needs proper subtitles.
This
is officially lip service to look good, not proper representation.
You can't follow this with fucking autogenerated bullcrap pretending to be accommodation.
I saw someone sending an ask in an hour or so ago to another blog to talk about The Full Moon and mentioned offhandedly in it that they had to look at the transcript to catch a line they wanted to understand and talk about.
I'd been hoping they would just put the subtitles up maybe a day or so later at least.
IT'S BEEN A WEEK.
Vivzie doesn't care about Deaf/HoH people. She chucked the kid in for brownie points. And hey, sure, brownie point rep is better than no rep, but it isn't actual representation and really doesn't deserve that much praise if you immediately follow it up with a fucking AUTOGEN ENGLISH ONLY EPISODE.
Sincerely, fuck you too.
EDIT: There are proper subtitles on The Apology Tour, so I'm glad for that at least. It came out like two weeks after The Full Moon meaning it had to be in production at the same time so idk why they could put subtitles on release for TAT and not TFM, but whatever. And hilariously (read: mystifyingly and infuriatingly) enough, THE FULL MOON STILL ONLY HAS AUTOGEN AS OF THIS EDIT BEING TYPED ON THE 25TH OF JUNE 2024. Why? Why is it the only one without subtitles in S2? Why is S1 still all auto-gen even now, right up until the Kesha-song episode? Spindlehorse continues to confuse and annoy me with their flipflopping on their supposed caring about accommodation.

Vicki…you have an editor job in a completely different city.
Did you just come to Metropolis to ambush Perry for this photo where you pose with your own newspaper?
How was this photo taken? Did you memorize where Perry gets his coffee, set up a camera, then wait for him to pass so you can jump out of the bushes or something?
Is there something in Gotham’s water that makes people act like petty drama queens?
Do you have a crush and just can’t ask him out like a normal person?
Do you just have a lot of free time?
What are you doing girl?

I think on this fine Saturday afternoon it's a good opportunity to take a breather and remember that there are really no ethical paparazzi pictures. Every single one is inherently exploitative.
Just because photos were taken on a movie set, when someone is 'working,' does not make the practice any less invasive and creepy. Imagine just going about your day, doing your job and having some weirdo snapping pictures of you to sell without your consent for others to endlessly repost online.
There are thousands of pictures of your favourite actor online already. Plenty taken with his knowledge and consent. I'd really like to see more of them on my dash, rather than the creeper shots.
And don't get me started how disseminating these pictures directly leads to people going to said sets. What starts off as admiring how good someone looks has real world implications.
No, hanging around a movie set and disrupting people doing their jobs is not harmless fun or a way to show your appreciation.
If you hang around a movie set, you are a stalker.
Don't tell me that it's okay to take your online admiration for someone offline. You may admire him but he does not, and will never, personally know you. He will never be your friend/boyfriend/daddy. He is a stranger.
The only way meeting your favourite actor is going to happen is at a convention or maaaaaybe a movie premiere if you're incredibly fortunate. You know, places they appear specifically to meet fans (or not in the case of premieres, where the purpose is to promote a movie. Which is also completely understandable if actors don't stop. You are not owed an interaction).
Of course, you cannot help it if you randomly run into someone you admire in the wild. Even then, consider that they probably won't be all too thrilled to be approached in public by a complete stranger. It's up to you to gauge the situation, but remember there is a person at the heart of all of this.
Boundaries and respect are a kindness which deserves to be extended to each and every human being regardless of their looks/talent/fame/wealth.
Fandoms blur those lines a little too often for my liking and I think just scrutinising what you're interacting with, or what behaviour you could be possibly falling down that slippery slope towards is nice to do every once in a while.
I mean no malice with this post and it is not directed at anyone in particular. It's something I cannot help but feel strongly about because I've seen this destructive cycle time and again in fandoms over the years. It's not healthy and it makes us all a little bit more disconnected from our humanity for it...

I know yesterday was mainly about Seb, but I really have to express how satisfying the race was as a Charles enjoyer... It was like a belated glimpse at the potential Ferrari displayed at the start of the season (including the parallel to Jeddah, where Charles and Ferrari successfully goaded Perez into a pitstop - although he probably would’ve done a two-stopper anyway, but more on that later).
Charles was faultless throughout the whole thing, never putting a foot wrong, never “caving under pressure” as the naysayers like to claim he does. He admitted Ferrari tweaked the car set-up and made a big jump from Friday to Saturday to Sunday, and that he himself had to adjust his driving style to extract the maximum out of the car. He had the right idea about the strategy and made the one-stop work through incredible tyre management while basically keeping pace with Max. Obviously Max wasn’t the target, so to speak, but if you compare Charles’s pace (on used, old tyres he had to manage until the end of the race) vs. Carlos and Checo’s pace (or lack thereof) and complaints about tyre deg... I mean it was a masterclass drive. And the sad thing is I’m sure it’ll go under the radar for most people, as a lot of his better performances have, but it’s worth acknowledging that he gave it his everything and got to finish the season on a high. P2 went where it was absolutely deserved. 👏🏻

Okay I just saw your juvia reading Lucy’s articles and how they’re best friends and wanted to know if you had any friendship head cannons? I personally think that juvia and lucy have sleepovers sometimes and do their full on spa pampering and gossip together. Juvia totally showed lucy some conditioner that helps with keeping your hair soft because juvia is often in the water and that can dry your hair out. Other than levy juvia also knows of Lucy’s crush and is soooo supportive because she knows how hard it was for gray so juvia is more just there to listen and give advice rather than push lucy. They did a unison raid like they love each other and I’m always here for girls supporting girls! Anyways hope you’re doing well!
yes!!! sigh sigh mashima has really shafted these two for the whole. love rival thing when they literally!! have such good friendship potential <3
juvia and lucy are girl talk buddies fr
both of them grew up pretty isolated so they never had anyone to just gossip and talk about "girl stuff", so to speak
juvia has tried to talk about girl stuff with gajeel but when they joined fairy tail he was like. "look at all these women who im sure are friendly and actually want to talk to you about this stuff. now leave me alone"
(she still tells him all the gossip she knows tho and he won't admit it but he wants to know everything)
she's drawn to lucy because of their experience during tower of heaven but also because lucy is one of the less intimidating women in the guild
even though lucy already has a lot of friends by the time juvia joins the guild, the two of them have a unique relationship where they quickly feel comfortable confiding in each other about their childhood's because they understand what it's like to be alone
lucy feels guilty about complaining about her childhood because she knows she had it really easy, especially compared to some of their guildmates but juvia always makes it a point to never make her feel bad about it
even though lucy is really fond of juvia she gets sick of the love rival stuff immediately
she puts up with it under the assumption that juvia will get over it quickly but she doesn't
juvia finds out that lucy has a crush on natsu when she finally snaps on her one day, telling her that no, she's not her love rival for gray, she has no interest in gray, because she likes natsu
juvia's immediate reaction is. "oh. are you sure you can't do better?"
she supports lucy 100% because she loves her and she thinks natsu is great and wonderful too, but she also thinks he's a bit of an idiot and lucy deserves to know that
she teases her about it a lot but lucy vastly prefers this to the love rival stuff because she is also aware that natsu is an idiot, she doesn't need juvia to tell her that
juvia's not as avid a reader as lucy but when she does want to read, lucy is always her first stop for book recs
they both really like romance and if she finds a good one, lucy will always reccomend it to juvia
any time lucy reccomends a book with an aloof male love interest, juvia will gush over how he's just like gray and then spend the next hour talking about him
and lucy listens because even though she can be annoying about it sometimes, juvia is still her friend and it is a little endearing when she's not being super crazy jealous over him
stolen from @nalunalu is that juvia teaches her how to knit/crochet
lucy expresses how she'd like to learn one day and juvia says that she knows how and would be happy to teach her
the first finished project lucy makes she gifts to juvia as thanks for teaching her
sometimes they'll just spend hours together knitting or crocheting in silence, just enjoying each other's company <333
