Why not try putting first things first?
Feeling overwhelmed?  Feeling like there is too much to do and not enough time? Feeling pushed and pulled and a sense of urgency that you are running out of time or questioning how you are going to get it all done?  This way of being is so common to modern life, fuelled by a preconceived concept of ‘time’ and whether or not we have enough of it, prompting us to then feel pressurised and hurried and STRESSED about our life.  The hurry up, do more, not enough time, time is running out way of approaching life is so common and prevalent that we consider it to be NORMAL, and then it becomes fused with what we expect to be a REALITY.
However, have you ever thought about what you MISS OUT on when you adopt this approach to life? 
If you think of all the things that you are getting caught up in, where you mind grabs onto the things in your life and uses them to create an escalation cycle of stress and anxiety, have you ever thought of this being a MODE of being – one which you can identify, label and then CHOOSE to engage with, or not do if it doesn’t serve you?
And if the things that you are missing out on are IMPORTANT to you, then could it become a matter of deciding to approach things differently?  
Yes it might be different from your normal way of doing things –
Yes it might mean CULTIVATING A NEW HABIT –
But would it be worth the investment if you could take on a whole new approach that would be the foundation for cultivating states of inspiration, calm, ease, flow and HAPPINESS?
 Stress and anxiety
When you look at it, stress and anxiety are the enemy to happiness AND they are also killers of creativity, innovation and INSPIRATION!  They put us on ‘survival mode’, which limits capacity to live a life that is fulfilling and meaningful, and result in reaction rather than planning and responding to life.
So if your way of being in the world is to approach things with a heavy ‘have to’ kind of mindset, with a focus on watching the clock with a sense of doom (either sensing time is running out or literally watching the clock!) then it will be hard to remain creative, inspired and motivated – let alone HAPPY and FULFILLED.
 Want some other options?
Firstly coming back to the present moment is always helpful – take a moment, breathe and just allow yourself to BE HERE NOW, just of a moment.  Remind yourself of where you are right now, and just absorb right now, even just for a minute.
Then consider all of the things that you have on your mind as ‘doing’ tasks and begin to break them down:
Tasks that are actually ‘must do today’ tasks.
Tasks that are ‘I would love to do this as part of my bigger picture’ tasks but they do not have to be done today.
Tasks that OTHERS are asking of you.
Tasks that you are asking of yourself.
Now take stock of your list and really consider: if you were putting YOUR priorities first – the things that are actually MOST important to you over and above the busyness of life – what could you begin to make time for?
If you were to take the ‘time’ pressure away just for a moment, what jumps out at you as the obvious, no brainer, oh yes I must make space and room for THAT in my life?!
Now consider, if you were to do ‘first things first’ which means doing the MOST important things TO YOU first, what would be at the top of the list for you to schedule at the beginning of your day such that anything that comes after it could be done happily – KNOWING that you have taken care of your needs and priorities FIRST?
 Putting your priorities first
How would things change for you if you were to begin your day putting YOUR priorities first?  Consider starting your day with your bigger picture tasks that CAN be delayed, as the reality is that without conscious thought and planning, they probably WILL be delayed and become overwhelmed by the busyness of life.  However, this is done at your own peril really as these are the things that make life really worth living!
So how about taking some time to PLAN you days and come off the mouse-wheel just for a moment to begin to plan first things first into your day?
