My brain just felt the need to remind me that in Wings of Fire, Winter's sibling gets canonically forcefemmed, so now you have to deal with that knowledge alongside me.

made a pair of hearthians;; they're my beloved. more about them below

they're identical twins, hatched from the same egg. they were actually conjoined upon hatching! aurum's arm wasn't able to be salvaged during separation, which is why it's missing. at least it's easy to tell the two apart!

aurum is extroverted and eager for adventure, whether that be getting far too close to the geysers, climbing the tallest trees in the village, or any other undoubtedly life-threatening act of daredevilry. they were given a lot of extra help and attention as a young hatchling due to their missing arm. this made them feel suffocated and patronized, which led to them acting out and gaining that penchant for thrillseeking. they also tend to actively refuse help, even to their detriment. they're extremely excited about space and everything to do with it and they really, really want to go up and see it for themself.

pyrite is the braincell holder of the duo, and much more introverted. despite this, aurum still reliably manages to rope them into various shenanigans, for which they take great pains to maintain plausible deniability. in their younger years, they felt a bit ignored in favor of their sibling, something that still has an effect on them as they continually feel as if they're stuck in aurum's shadow. they have trouble talking to people who aren't aurum, and tend to fold easily under pressure. they hold an active interest in cartography, and while they're ambivalent about the concept of going to space, aurum convinced them to accompany them into the outer wilds because of the opportunity to map other planets.

as a whole, they're very close and unconditionally support each other. however, they don't know how to be apart from each other, and they harbor deeply buried resentments toward each other that fester and grow the longer they're left ignored. surely nothing bad could come of that ::]

[Major Outer Wilds/EOTE spoilers below the cut!]

HUOHKAY, After chipping away at this for over a month, my Outer Wilds comic is finally done!!

Initially I wanted to do this in two parts, like how many other versions of this beloved Undertale quote have done. But in the middle of thumbnailing the sketch, I thought why not illustrate Hatchling's journey too and I further expanded this project, by a lot hfjdjg

Outer Wilds is such a fantastic game and truly one of a kind, I only hope I did the game justice with this comic I made

Some artist notes below, if you're interested in reading all of it!

I began this project around early August!

I separated each page to their own canvases so I don't have a ridiculously huge file size. And each canvas has a different name. From the first to the last, their names go: It's you > Nova > Loop > Lonely > Glade > Despite everything.

Glade was actually a really long canvas that I split into two, bc I wanted to experiment with like a vertical scroll thing. So the Glade pages were split into Glade A and Glade B

My favourite page to work on was page 2, the supernova was fun to make, especially with the pointilism brush that CSP had which made it way easier.

Page 4 initially had a way different layout before I settled with this one. As shown below here:

But when I did a second pass, I rearranged the panels and instead decided to illustrate scenes that Hatchling had with the two.

With Solanum, it's learning and translating her texts on the QM. With Prisoner, it's when you discover the truth and after the vision…

For the Gabbro and Hatchling panel, I changed it so that both are at a distance and facing away from the viewer. As like a sort of way to show that Hatchling is having the reality of the situation dawn on them and try to cope with it. I did name this canvas "lonely" for a reason ::)

My Hatchling's name is Pyrite, or Pyre ::)

Crystals for Apollo

Hello tumblr witches, wizards, Druids, and magical beings! I’m starting a new series today entitled “crystals of the gods”. I am a geologist and have been collecting minerals and gems for over 15 years, and seeing as how intrinsically connected to divinity and magick crystals are, I thought I’d look into what crystals are representative of the many gods and goddesses across the worlds pantheons. For my first post, I want to try and represent a god that although I do not personally worship yet, I am in awe of: Apollo/Apollon. Let’s begin!

• Citrine

Citrine is a gemstone of wealth and positivity, and nobody meets that standard in my eyes like Apollo does! They are full of joy and character, and shine like a beacon of yellow light that citrine encompasses so well.

• Brucite

A bit of a lesser known, but gorgeous mineral, brucites Scalenohedral crystal habit reminds me of the radiance of the sun! And it’s unbeatable bright yellow color is emblematic of Apollo’s connection to the lemon like color it holds, which facilitates much joy and pride in oneself.

• Pyrite

A mineral of subtle, but positive arrogance, and a touch of pride, pyrite might be called fools gold, but it’s not foolish at all! It’s incredible natural geometry is full of the character that Apollo radiates, and it’s literal reflective properties are a perfect metaphor for how the god represents hubris, but also character and personality that makes him so unique and adored!

• Muscovite

This powerfully flashy gem, a variety of Mica, is emblematic of Apollo’s more sensitive side that is often portrayed so beautifully, and often encompassed in acts of homosexuality. Muscovite is soft, only a 2-2.5 on the MOHS scale, but that’s not a negative thing! it’s color, and it’s personality, is among the strongest gold there is!

• Scapolite

Sharp and shiny, scapolite is the perfect stone for a glossy, muscular god like Apollo. It’s yellow hues are bold and sharp, and represent his strength in battle.

• Heliodor

Named after the archetypal god of whom he is a cultural descendant of, Helios, heliodor is the definite stone of the sun, and an ancient symbol of Apollo. Beryl was prized as a luxury to the ancient Greeks and Phoenicians, and heliodor was quite rare, this is an extravagant gift that he will surely be in awe of!

• Sunstone

This should be a no-brainer, but sunstone, a species of plagioclase feldspar, is somehow even more sunny than heliodor. It’s iridescent flakes of color remind one of the divinity of the sun, and it’s epithet, Apollo. Every Apollo devotee should offer the god some sunstone if they can get their hands on it!

• Amber

Warm and joyous, amber is perfect for Apollo. It’s honey like appearance, and beautiful deep warmth evokes Apollos radiance and pride. It is ancient, like they themself, and is a perfect idol of a god of sun!

• Topaz

Orange or imperial topaz, mined in the deserts of Utah and northern Mexico under a constant sun, is the domain of Apollo! It’s juicy colors are bold and rich, and remind one of Apollo’s intense personality.

• Peridot

Beloved by Cleopatra, mistaken by her for emeralds, peridot is like the spicier, more masculine version of emerald culturally. Often found in metamorphic rock around historically active volcanic sites, it’s no wonder that Apollo is attributed to its hot and spicy nature.

• Pyromorphite

In Greek mythology, Apollo was the slayer of Python, a massive serpent whom he dispatched of in a show of strength in Delphi. Pyromorphite, with its hopper like crystal structure resembling that of snake skin, paired with its serpentine color, is a great symbol of this historic accomplishment of the great Apollo!

• Tremolite

Similarly to pyromorphite, tremolites electric green color brings serpentine energy to a shrine dedicated to Apollo, and its a rare stone that feels like a perfect symbol to his awesome strength and power!

Modern Humans AU - CR:K

OKAY SO, me and a friend have been working (on and off) on a Cookie Run: Modern Humans AU ever since summer of last year.'

While the AU takes place in an alternate reality of ours (America, France, etc etc) do exist, but other fictional countries like Estuilor do! This is where the AU mainly takes place in, particularly in Holmur County that is located in the largest region (Jouhun) of Estuilor.

The country itself has French as a second language while its main language is Estuilsur. This is the entire list of Cookies we have included so far, including OCs!

Pure Vanilla is currently a retired ER Nurse and is now a Botanist, White Lily works in pathology, Espresso is a former Math Teacher now Chemist (he subs in sometimes), Madeleine is a military general of the army, Dark Cacao is a former military general, Wildberry and Crunchy Chip run a massive sheep farm (with Snow Leopard as their recon / barn cat), Golden Cheese & Black Pearl run their respective jewel stores and are rivals... This is the simple list of everyone's jobs, not everyone currently has one but will soon! I don't believe we won't add anyone more to the cast until we have finished filling in all of the current info of our cast.

Once I and my wonderful friend have completed all of the basics, I may open a ask blog for this au (it is quite vast!), and do not worry, the google docs detailing the world and these au variants of our beloved characters will be released soon-ish!

Sausage kissed the skin beneath him reverently, moving down soft curves and whispering praises over old scars. Tension from his lover hummed through taut muscles and forcibly evened breaths. Sausage hummed and traced his tongue over a rough line, a memory of a tiger’s ferocity. “Trust me, cosa preciosa. I have you.”

“I do. I trust you.” The Heron’s voice was even, composed.

Sausage couldn’t have that. “Turn over. Show me your back.” He sat up and offered supporting hands to roll Scott onto his stomach. “There we go.”

Scott shuddered under fingers trailing down his spine.

“Pretty thing, look at those bruises.” Heat built in his core as Sausage danced his touch over black and blue piebald marks. “Been playing around with your food? Letting the monsters get a few hits in before you run them through?” He pressed down, so lightly it was more of a suggestion of pressure. “Or are these just for me?”

The breath pacing from Scott’s lungs was suddenly much less steady. “Fell off a boulder. The gators cushioned the fall.” He hissed as Sausage pressed harder into the tender flesh before pulling away. “But I’m glad you appreciate the toys.”

A rumbling chuckle accompanied Sausage’s jingling buckles and clasps as he undressed. “And to think, I went through all the trouble of bringing my own.” He glanced at the side table, knowing Scott’s eyes would be on the inks as well. “I suppose we don’t need to–”

“Please!” Scott pushed up, turning with wide eyes to beg at Sausage. “You promised.”

“I did.” His pants remained, but otherwise, Sausage towered bare over his lover. “And I always keep my promises, don’t I?” He reached a hand out, gently but firmly gripping red hair and smirking at the small gasp that earned from Scott. “What are your words?”

Slowly, Scott eased himself back down, crossing his arms under his head. “Roses to slow down. Ruby to stop.”

“Good.” He scratched at the Heron’s scalp. “And if you can’t talk?” They’d gone through a lot to get Scott to agree to safewords. Sausage was going to make sure they could be used.

The mattress bounced as Scott kicked his feet; three rapid thumps against the sheets.

“Very good.” He tugged red hair, just enough to draw a groan from Scott and pull his head up for a stolen kiss. “May I begin?” He whispered against soft lips.

“Please.” Scott let his head go heavy, pulling himself free of Sausage’s hand. 

Sausage traced the lines across his Heron’s back, the ones he and Scar had laid down weeks ago. A sketch of grey ink and lines drawn of red and brown. “Our treasure. Everyone will know you’re ours.” He dragged a nail through the image, teasing a bruise with his other hand to begin the process of drowning Scott in sensation.

Scott hummed, eyes fluttering shut.

“Good boy. Let’s begin.”

His view of Pyrite!Peter is not at all stable! There's elements of "I found a way to bring him back to me" where he's almost treating P!Peter as something like a reincarnation of origiPete, where they are one and the same in some kind of abstract way regardless of having different lives/experiences. There's elements of full-on delusion where sometimes he sees P!Peter 100% as the son he raised and happily talks about their "past" ""memories"" """together""" while P!Peter nods along terrified.

There's elements where he acknowledges that P!Peter isn't actually origiPete-- obviously he's much more awful to P!Peter in ways he wouldn't have been to the original-- but is viewing P!Peter as something like a living idol through which he can express his love for his son. There's elements of extreme grief where he feels the full weight of the fact that his son is gone and this person is just a (beloved, but not equivalent) replacement.

In general he tries to consciously stay in the "this is my actual child who has made his way back to me via the multiverse" reincarnationesque zone, but the unconscious experience is extremely varied and contradictory and sometimes all of the elements are laying over top of each other at once.

As far as the specific questions: he did not go Peter-snatching until he felt that he has fully exhausted his resources for actually bringing his Peter back ("gave up",) yes. If origiPete somehow ended back up in their lives…

His own internal impulse would be "great, two sons!" though origiPete would be, like, Son Prime and P!Peter would immediately become second fiddle, but he would handle it however origiPete wanted with no pushback-- with his for-real actual son back in his life, he would be happy to send P!Peter back home and would not particularly mourn him; all of those love and devotion and obsession feelings would be instantly transferred back to origiPete the second origiPete said he didn't want P!Peter around.

(This is, interestingly, a slight contrast to how he'd handle it if origiPete never died and another Peter somehow mysteriously appeared in their world, where he would ultimately defer to origiPeter's feelings on it like I said in that earlier ask, but would try a little harder to talk Pete around into letting him start to build his Peter harem lmao.)]]

regemption is the story ive been working on for several years (it turns 5 this june, which is scary to think about!) using a bastardised aesthetisised pop culture interpretation of christian mythology to talk about a lot of things, like morality and the concept of purity. i want to make it a webcomic some day, and it will be split into 5 "books", and an intermission story spread throughout

book 1: current title "heart and soul": follows jonah calinao, a 23 y/o depressed deadbeat who suffers a heart attack and goes to hell. somehow, they bounce back, because modern medicine is amazing, but this is the first time a human has ever seen the stony deep before being revived. satan (mostly referred to as "boss") sends one of her lackeys to "take care of them" and bring them back and thus maintain the natural order. she picks jade (representative of envy, middle of the road when it comes to sinners) who, upon seeing earth for the first time, isnt exactly that keen on going back. so jade makes a deal with jonah: she wont kill them if they at least TRY and get their shit together. which is a pretty cushy deal, all things considered! except jades situationship from hell (in the most literal context) isnt happy that her best-friend-slash-longtime-crush is mingling with the humans. especially when zircon decides that jade and jonah have gotten pretty close 🤔

book 2: "blood and bone": follows isaac bonner, a 25 y/o rich kid dissatisfied with life. when his on-again-off-again (mostly off) girlfriend dies, he considers ending it all, but is interrupted by what he considers divine intervention. it is, of course, from the other place. bloodstone convinces him that killing himself would be such a waste, he should just hand over his soul instead, and let someone with a will to go on take the wheel. initially unconvinced, she shows him all of her plans, why shes on earth and what she plans to do, and it might just be the adrenaline rush he needs to keep on living

book 3: "hope and pray": follows mary santoro, 24 y/o, jonahs ex-roommate (roommate through the first half of book 1. dont worry about it), nicest person youll ever meet. shes always had a passion for music, but passion rarely pays the bills, which she has a lot of. during one of her many dayjobs, she meets a few very odd individuals who are, for some reason, adamant that she has to join their band. even though its not the type of music she likes, they wear her down, and she agrees to at least check em out, but she soon realises that theyre not human, but they need her help. and one thing about mary is she can never turn someone down, no matter how much she wants to

book 4: "flesh and blood": follows jacob bonner (isaacs younger brother) and his best friend levi abraham as they uncover just what isaac had gotten up to the past few months. and why their cellar is suddenly locked up tight, with no key in sight. or why jacob frequently wakes up to screaming, only sometimes his own. or why their "new friend" looks so familiar, and whether levis right not to trust her

book 5: "survive and thrive": everything comes together. the culmination of the previous four books, with an epilogue to deal with anything that wasnt tied up in a neat little bow

intermissions: follow ruby and zebra jasper as they seek violent, glittery revenge on the one who wronged them, aided by pyrite, who jasper just cant seem to convince ruby is bad news

alexandrite is a minor character in book 1 (even though demons dont have families the way we do, alex and jade consider themselves as close to sisters as they can get), a supporting character in book 2, and should be a major character in book 5.
