Hey, it just means I get to talk more about my boys!! Ask away ^^ It takes a long time, Dream is an adult by the time they meet again.

Dream was worried his papa wouldn't recognize him, or be mad that he disappeared, or disappointed it took him this long to reach the End.

Exdee actually needed a moment to recognize his boy, it had been so long since they'd been face to face, and Dream is no longer a child. He'd imagined this moment countless times throughout the years - but reality still took him by surprise.

He's tall, almost as tall as Exdee in his human form, with broad shoulders and sun-bleached hair. They look almost identical to each other, and yet the person standing before him is so different.

It's all good though, the moment the mask comes off, there's no doubt this is his little boy. He's a little scarred, and there are lines under his eyes but it's him. Exdee loved his son the moment he created him, rooted for him from afar, and continued to love him even worlds apart.

The Void God is just happy he can hold his son again.

A seed of suspicion sprouts in the stake park. Someone whose name may or may not rhyme with Grick Dayson strong-arms Bruce into taking his family to the skate park nearest to their home in Bristol. Necessarily, the fae accompanies them. Bruce expected it to be on its best human-like behavior in public, but even he, paranoid bastard that he is, underestimates the cunning of the creature. Gone is the lost little boy act; in is the rascal preteen boy who hollers at his older brothers from the sidelines to do a kickflip.

Within minutes, the fae has acquired a skateboard. After a couple of wobbly attempts at using it, the fae progresses to attempting to drop in. If the fae were a human child, Bruce would strongly advise it to practice more before making an attempt. If the child were his kid, Bruce would insist on wearing kneepads and the like before stepping foot on another skateboard. 

As it is, Bruce is not even sure that the fae can be hurt in the same way as humans. Through his research and through the fae’s demonstration, Bruce has learned a little about how fae operate; namely, that they separate body from being. A fae can be hurt through incorporeal, intangible means that mean nothing to humans, such as using a “true name” and striking deals. Humans can break bargains, lie, and call each other names without anything resembling consequences. But is the reverse also true? Are fae immune to bullets and knives and all the weapons humanity has to offer? Bruce is quite certain that Tim–the particular fae forced upon him–has no idea.

“TIM!”

Speak of the devil. Bruce’s gaze instantly snaps to the bottom of the half-pipe. His eyes land on Tim’s skateboard, which sails away from him (it). The fae stays on its hands and knees as Jason and Dick pound over dirty concrete, flying over the railings and people to reach him first. Both hover as Tim pulls himself to his feet. 

“You okay?” Dick squats next to Tim. “Those knees look pretty banged up.”

But Tim’s attention isn’t on his skinned knees quickly welling with beads of blood or the boys by his side. His gaze stays trained on the runaway skateboard. “I used to be able to float,” he cries, and bursts into tears.

Jason pats him on the back. “Alright, calm down, Timmy’s Delivery Service. We’ll getcha back in the air in no time.”

“I don’t want to!” Tim shoves his hand away, perfectly emulating the preteen boy behavior it is pretending to be. “I’m not going to float, ever again. I’m gonna learn to skateboard.” And he marches all of two petulant steps away from Jason before he freezes and looks down at his knees. 

Like he’s surprised they hurt. 

Long after Dick cleans and patches up those cuts and bruises, Bruce’s eyes keep looking at Tim’s knees. The fae bled red just like any human and had not expected it. The fae wants to learn skateboarding and wants to leave behind the dreamlike ways of the fae. This fae–Tim–wants to be human. This fae has known nothing but the fae realm and the life of the Unseelie Court. An iron fist in a velvet glove, the rule of the Unseelie Queen. Perhaps, with time and exposure to Gotham, Tim now values the marvels of the human realm and wishes to join it? Is it possible they might turn against the Unseelie Queen?

OMG I didn’t expect anyone would ask me question, I’m worried if my suggestions will suit you? My English is poor, I hope you don’t mind

It might be a bit confusing because my tastes are a little all over the place. I pretty much like reading all kinds of fic, so if you let me know what type of stories you like, maybe I can give more targeted recommendations

Although I’m not romantically invested in Millardy, I do read related fics, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how many of them are really well-written. I really enjoy the feeling that everyone has their own interpretation of the characters and their relationships

One Millardy fic I really like is Mr and Mrs Fawley by penfairy. In this fic, Miller and Hardy pose as a couple while undercover to catch drug dealers, and things keep escalating

I enjoy fics that portray Miller and Hardy as a queerplatonic relationship, with lots of short stories. Like Your Heart Works Just Fine But It's Still Broken

I’ve also written a few silly little stories myself, but they’re in Chinese, and I shamelessly put them here in case you’re interested

I’ve also read a lot of Alec Hardy Whump. If you’re interested in this, I can recommend more, but the last one I read was Friends and Foes, where Alec Hardy is covered in awful writing by an unknown person

As for supplements and extensions to the original work— nannyogg123’s A Million Holes Poked In The Soul is a very long and heartbreaking fic that fills in and imagines many stories that weren’t written in the show, especially regarding the Sandbrook case

princeloww’s Twenty-Five Decembers is my recent favorite. It tells the story of Alec Hardy’s 25 consecutive Christmases, from the toxic influence of his father to his meeting and parting with Tess. It’s sometimes very sweet, sometimes extremely painful—especially when you know how it ends. What I really appreciate about this fic is that very few fics portray Tess in such a positive light, and I think it’s done really well

I also really like Broken Heart. It’s almost entirely a depiction of Alec Hardy’s state of mind in the show. This one is in Chinese, and the writing is really good. I’m not sure if it would maintain its vibe after translation, though

Hylia was referred to as "The Goddess of Wisdom" in one of your posts (the Hades-inspired artwork) so it got me wondering: does Nayru not exist in your AU? Are the three Golden Goddesses absent, or do you have something in mind for them?

no the Hades stuff was just a little one-off thing back when it was new; it means nothing for my actual zelda fanworks!

so no, Hylia does not replace Nayru; in the main stoyline of destiny (comic) the gods only briefly show up fully at the end and mostly only manifest parts of themselves bc in my story they cannot physically directly do much in those physical worlds aside from manipulate peoples dreams and in the small area of the one ancient spring (a seperate spring from the three usual ones that is dedicated to all three of the gods- demise destroying the one of his home created the gateway to hylias world btw) which is the reason they created deities like Hylia, a creature not a full god but not a mortal either, not what i would call a half-god tho; a Deity to do as the gods say, to act as a mere exentension of them in a world they cannot fully control ... bc what does a god hate more than not being able to control their creation .. :^)

if i ever get to the point of finishing destiny, depending on how i feel about it then and how well it was received, i could imagine adding an alternative ending where everyone lives and they work together to rid the gods influence from the world (the first ending is supposed to play into the rest of loz, the other one would mess up EVERYTHING but i cannot deny i have stuff for that planned as well ;__;)

basically the gods are the main looming threat, they are, essentially, the villain, their motives ... might be dissappointing but as they are gods they dont really have to make that much sense ..? i dont want to go into it too much unless it doesnt bother people to already know, i just hope it will feel right when the story gets to that point xO

i havent gotten to designing the gods fully yet as, again, they show up rather late so its gonna change anyway, this is an old concept of Nayru

here in the background are they again with a more recent design (this sketch is for a .... another dream game based on the alternative good ending for destiny where here you fight as demise against the gods in their realm.. i know its a bit convoluted all but my brain likes to brrrrrrrr when thinking about loz and games so theres lots of ideas and concepts that have no chance of ever becoming real)
