Instead of Shen Jiu being popped out of existence or his soul being swiched and ending up on Shen Yuan's body or even being stuck in his world as a ghost, Shen Jiu is actually placed as the system. And as such he must find a way to diverge the plot of PIDW so that the soon to be emperor Luo Binghe doesnt gouge out everything and everyone in his wake.

He utterly hates it, he is in shambles when his best chance is a run of the mill fanboy from the novel that has become sentient enough to warp reality and time. He hates the fact that his soul is now tied to Luo Binghe in technical terms, he hates he has to rewind time each and every single time Shen Yuan fucks it up with his horrid communication skills, he hates the way the player's modern lenguage has rubbed him off past those rewinds, he loathes the fac that he can`t even be himself and has to act like some sort of caricature in order for Shen Yuan to not notice who is derailing his life, and his own as well.

He hates the fact that its his fault the things have become more messed up.

But he is fine, he is fine knowing that he can put these new BL novel to rest and and let Yueqi and the sect live for more than what fate deemed them to be.

He is thankful, though not outwardly, that Shen Yuan was kind where he would never be.

Farmer Qi x Crow Jiu AU One day I told the server the story of how I once threw away 100 yr old ginseng on accident and then someone mentioned a crow eating it and ascending This lead to this funky AU about a lone Farmer Qi getting pursued by a crow he'd frequently feed on his way to the fields

Shen Jiu lowered his head. “It’s all this disciple’s fault. We should go at once. If those old men get here, we won’t be able to leave even if we try.”

But Yue Qi moved to block them, raising the sword in his hand. He glanced at Shen Jiu with faintly reddened eyes, his voice hoarse but unusually resolute. “I can’t let you leave.”

Furious, Shen Jiu glared at him.

Does anyone else love this QiJiu dynamic, right after they've both just reunited...

Shen Jiu's instinctive reaction is to set off fireworks and then lie to his master about it, all to protect Yue Qi from danger.

Yue Qingyuan is visibly emotional about seeing SJ alive, and he can barely manage to say anything the whole scene, yet he declares with unusual resolution that he can't let SJ leave. His instinctive reaction is to fight WYZ and protect SJ.

And SJ is just like "you idiot I'm trying to save your ass here why are you ruining my plan!!!"

The only thing that would make qijiu better is if Yue Qingyuan managed to somehow swap places with Shen Qingqiu in the water prison and Bingge tortured him a bit before he figured it out and then tortured him more for interrupting his vengeance. And then! More torture but in front of Shen Qingqiu after the inevitable failed rescue mission both because he's realized Shen Qingqiu actually cares about something and because he's mad Shen Qingqiu has feelings.

Idk I just really want SY overwhelmed with guilt for taking SJ's life and going through hell to bring him back ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Maybe a no-system AU where SY has a full melt down on day one right all over YQY because *he didn't want this*. He didn't want to kill someone else just so he could have a second life.

MQF world be called in and suspect SJ just has a mental break or something, since that's far more likely than this soul usurpation, but YQY overrules him bc there's no way this is SJ no matter how addled

Bonus points if airplane DOES have a system and is sweating bullets throughout all of this.

Maybe LQG gets sent with SY to find whatever plot device while YQY keeps up appearances and LQG falls for this wet dog of a man who just bleeds self sacrifice.

Eventually they get back to the sect and SY is waiting while they prepare a ritual or whatever and goes "oh shit, wait, the protagonist???" And is like "hello, you're my child now. Liu-gege, help me raise my child"

SJ comes back, pissed, SY is a spiritual creature of some sort (Empty Blossom of Moonlit Purity? Withers instantly on contact with demonic qi). SJ is talked down from vengeance since SY did immediately try (and did manage) to save him.

SY just takes LBH with him to go live on BZ.

SJ and YQY have a knock down drag out fight about how dare YQY save his life this time. How stupid is he to bring back a critical weakness? SJ ends up injuring YQY pretty seriously (since he's not even trying to defend himself) and YQY confesses that SJ is with more than his own life and always has been.

(SJ now has no idea why Qige never saved him, still doesn't know about Xuansu, but there is some reconciliation)

(meanwhile poor Binghe is like "withers on contact? 🥺")

(if SY consumes the Sunlit Flower of Balance he loses that weakness, which he does, but then forgets to mention. So he goes traveling to observe demonic beasts and gives everyone stress ulcers)

Au where sj and yqy are already papapaing and it changes the story entirely. Disciple selection? Sj's too busy staring at qige politely slamming the old palace master and doesn’t rly gaf abt the kid Liu Qingge of all people wants. Birds of a feather flock, the brute and his smaller brute can stay together on Bai Zhan far, far away from him and his disciples!

Demon invasion? Sj and yqy are in closed cultivation -ahem- deep in the Ling Xi Caves and are under No Circumstances to be disturbed (they chose a little cozy cave and made it rly comfy with trinkets, soft blankets and sweet treats - only the best for xiao jiu) SJ vaguely hears rumors of the new "head disciple" of Bai Zhan, and after catching sight of him once... Hey, doesn’t that look like that one sopping wet kid he pulled out of the river once when he was storming away from qi-ge when they were out on a date? (he got embarrassed, why does qi-ge stare at him like that, ah!)

LBH is sure he's going crazy. The immortal gege that saved him from drowning in his namesake river after being pushed in by his bullies is his Shibo? And all the rumors he can hear about him is just excerpts from Liu Su Mian Hua's novel series Longing of a Thousand Li?? Shibo... are you and Zhangmen-Shibo really...????

I can finally share this qijiu piece I contributed to the qijiu zine. The zine is free and you can check the link here.

This is a bit late since the release of the zine was last August 18. I retweeted the post and all but forgot to share my piece. The theme of the zine is red string of fate so we had to consider this when thinking of what to submit. I really had a lot of difficulties while trying to think about what to draw. Most of the pieces others submitted are concentrated on AUs; universes where qijiu meet and fall in love over and over again. When you read the zine, you'll definitely feel this way; that indeed they are connected by the red string of fate because, in those many lives, they are still together and in love/care about each other.

My piece though is not an AU. It is my interpretation of the red string of fate that binds qijiu in relation to their dynamic in canon.

Shen Jiu, in his heart of hearts, and in his own way clings to YueQi. His Qige is the only person he can whole-heartedly say in his tsundere way that he cares about. That's the reason why I had him hold the moon. The moon represents YueQi.

Like the moon, YueQi, for Shen Jiu is hard to reach. His light is the only thing that dazzles the dark waters that surround Shen Jiu. The feeling he feels towards YueQi is threatening to drown him. But it's fine. He believes this is limit. He doesn't value himself to consider that maybe Qige feels the same way about him, that's why, I drew YueQingyuan embracing him as if to console him and remind him that he is loved. That they both care about each other in the same way.

While I enjoyed doing this piece, I really had a hard time painting this. My paint tool sai was literally dying on me because of the number of layers I had. XD

I'm really thankful for the mods of this zine for organizing this project.

Account of the Kumoxi (ZS49)

[A people who lived in what is now Eastern Manchuria. In later histories the name has become shortened to just Xi.]

The Kumoxi were a separate kind of the Xianbei. Their ancestors were routed by Murong Huang, and they ran off to the area of Songmo [lit. the “Pine Desert”?]. Later their kind gradually became many, and they divided into five sections. The first was called Ruhezhu, the second Mohefu, the third Qige, the fourth Mukun, and the fifth Shide. Each section set up an Irkin [sijin俟斤]. There was the Ahui clan, who the most were prominent leaders. The five sections all accepted their authority. They were servants to the Tujue, and several time they and the Qidan attacked each other. They took prisoners and captured wealth and livestock, and following that then were rewarded. If someone dies, they promptly use reeds and bushed to wrap the corpse, and hang it down from atop a tree.

5th Year of Datong [539 AD], they dispatched envoys to present the things of their region.

I have a few OC to "Scumbag System" or "Scum Villain Self Saving System". Two of them are Master Zhu Mingzhen, Bai Zhan War Master from before Liu Qingge and Yu Mingai, Qing Jing Mistress. Shen Jiu's Shizun. They both are like Qige and Xiao Jiu, sibling from the streets... and they both absolutely adores little, feral Shen Jiu (future Shen Qingqiu).

I have two thoughts now.

First: it not easy to find creator which suits to your oc sometimes

Admittedly, that title is a bit misleading. It implies that i’ve only been doing this for ten week, when in actuality, I’ve only got 10 weeks to go. This countdown started at week 41, a somewhat arbitrary number, at least 42 could’ve had the Douglass Adams answer to the universe going for it, but – hindsight. 31 weeks ago what matter was beginning the countdown and, back then, I probably lamented…

Qi-ge and the Xiao Jiu vs. Shen Qingqiu dilemma.

Fic idea where Yue Qingyuan gets his hand on some time traveling device except it only lasts for 5 hours before it dumps him back to his original timeline and he can never use it again.

That sounds like a fucking powerful object and people can do a lot with just 5 hours, so obviously the object was lost to time and by the time that Yue Qingyuan stumbled upon it by accident while visiting some small time cultivation sect by himself, he doesn’t know what it does.

But he accidentally touched it.

And he finds himself in the past, standing in front of the not burnt down Qiu manor, still dressed in his sect lord robes with his sword at his waist. He sees Xiao Jiu sweeping the ground.

It feels like a dream. He thinks it is a dream, so he does whatever he wants… which means he grabs Xiao Jiu and runs. He feeds Xiao Jiu all the candy he can hold, dresses him in luxurious robes, and time just flies by…

By the time it’s evening, Yue Qingyuan settles him and Xiao Jiu into an inn. He’s still hugging Xiao Jiu and hasn’t been able to not touch him the whole time in case this dream or vision or illusion disappeared… and then an invisible clock chimes that the 5 hours are up. And Yue Qingyuan wakes up…

With a 12 year old Xiao Jiu in his lap, still dressed in the satin and silk holding a stick of tanghulu, in this dusty room that Yue Qingyuan stumbled and hid himself in to take a break from all the female disciples trying to seduce him for their small little cultivation sect.

What else is there for Yue Qingyuan to do other than bring his Xiao Jiu with him back to Cang Qiong? Yue Qi is giddy. The sect master in him is worried about the implications of his second in command now being a new person - a person that he’s unfamiliar with, that he doesn’t trust to watch his back the way that his A’jiu did.

Pity his worries we’re for naught as he stares at A’Jiu’s - Shen Qingqiu’s - furious expression, angry heartbreak, devastated unshed tears upon seeing the face of the little radish in Yue Qingyuan’s arms.

(Cang Qiong settled in to watch the drama because to them, it looks like SQQ had a son that Yue Qi has picked up and decided to raise…)

Qijiu aus continue

Yue Qi dies shortly after leaving Shen Jiu behind to become a cultivator. It happens so fast, he only realizes WHAT happened when he's a spirit looking over his body.

He's not surprised to be a ghost, it's not as if he ever got a soul calming ceremony, but how is he supposed to save Xiao Jiu like this?

Regrettably, he journeys to the demon realm first. After all, if any righteous cultivator senses him, he'll be exorcised without hesitation. In the demon realm he learns a lot about demons, demonic beasts and spiritual creatures, more than enough to pass on to Xiao Jiu to give him a leg up as a cultivator, but he still has no ability to really interact with the world.

As time passes, he makes a decision. It's a bad one, but he can't wait any longer trying and failing to cultivate himself as a ghost.

Instead, he feeds himself to an abandoned runt from a litter of Soul-Devouring Dusk Hyena cubs. As he'd hoped, despite being unable to do anything else thus far, he manages to win against the cub's animal soul in the merger and take over the body.

He immediately starts his return journey. He arrives to the Qiu ruins still smoking, but finds Xiao Jiu's scent leading away. He's leveled up quite a bit from his trials on the path from the demon realm and doesn't hesitate to bite out Wu Yanzi's throat on sight.

SJ is still in shock from his qi deviation and murders, so he just stares at the hyena as it comes up and bloodily nuzzles his thigh. He pets its head and is rewarded with a happy whine and enough pressure from the thing leaning on him that he nearly topples over.

When the hyena is still there the next morning, he tells it, "Okay but when we find qige you only bite him a little. Maim one limb at most."

He takes the whine to mean the hyena is blood thirsty.

He doesn't question his assumption that it's intelligent enough to understand him.
