The thing about q!Roier is he doesn’t really… talk about his emotions. He’s pretty outgoing, and he can be jokingly dramatic about some things, but when something really matters to him he gets quiet. It’s not him ignoring his emotions or repressing them, to me it’s more that he has a very deep understanding of his own emotions. When he feels something, it’s a fact of life. He doesn’t feel the need to explain because to him there’s no ambiguity, it just is. Why would he talk about how he feels? It would be like talking about how the sky is blue.

Roier is very pragmatic. He likes to make jokes, but he has a very firm grasp on the reality of a situation. How he feels is a tool to inform what his next actions will be. He doesn’t emotionally lash out when things go wrong, he adjusts his internal worldview and then continues on. During the abueloier situation he was very clear about how the situation made him feel and what he needed moving forward. He hates the federation, but he has no power to do anything about it so it doesn’t come up unless someone specifically asks. When Bobby died, he wasn’t as emotionally expressive as Jaiden because it’s not how he operates. He deals in facts. Physically, there was no changing the past or bringing Bobby back, he was just gone. Emotionally, if Roier could do anything to bring him back he would do it in a heartbeat. To Roier, both are equally true pieces of information, and they don’t contradict. So instead of talking about it, which would do nothing, he keeps building his city to honor Bobby’s memory.

The live with Etoile really reminded me how much they know each other.

Pierre and etoiles have known each other for yearsss and that appears in all the conversation they had with each other in the server like when they would reminisce the past, talk about past friends and things they did together ( the fact that etoiles often asks pierre about things in private about minecraft or not) they have a relationship of trust, they know how the other will react because of everything they went through already.

All in all I feel like their friendship is often overlooked which pains me a little because in my own little headcannon world, I saw them as like older figure/prof and in some way student because pierre factually and in qsmp cannon continues to teach etoiles little things here and there about the mods or things like that even though etoiles is very independent and likes to make progress on his own and strives to get better he still always goes back to pierre to discuss or for help, for him to teach him new stuff ( like when etoiles asked pierre to teach him create), they also make each other's gifts like stuff or when pierre gifts farms to etoiles. Etoiles knows he can say anything to pierre, that he can ask him anything, that they are always available for each other and we saw it happens so many times already.

(I see people talking about etoiles link to philza in the way I see his link with pierre when I clearly feel that Etoiles and Phil are simply people that can connect over past experiences and trauma)

Their minds work alike and I know their two characters are very morally neutral and will accept a lot of stuff ( like they already did by the way) coming from the other, we could see their complicity in the prison and I was so excited for people to see them as a "them" but not at all I mostly see people talking about things they did together as if there was only etoiles... so obviously when Etoiles said he was pushing pierre to come on qsmp v2 and said he would give him stuff or when he said he would spend a day with him I foolishly thought that the new viewers will finally see their friendship for what it is.... let me tell you how disheartened I felt when I could not find a tweet or tumbler post talking about them, so yeah, I'm sad bros

( I know that it's probably because people dislike pierre so they just erase his existence when posting but I feel particularly bad when people give all the credit of some ideas to etoiles when it was pierre that gave them to him (it used to happen a while ago a lot not something that recent) don't be a hypocrite, just don't say anything if you're gonna overlook the one he had the idea with please its just disrespectful ( it's not etoiles fault, he always brings up pierre this is mostly addressed at the pierre haters))

I think Philza's anger towards the island and the federation is easily overlooked in the grand scheme of things. As he is not very loud about it and because he is not very involved in a lot of the ongoing lore groups of late or in the detective circle itself.

But make no mistake, Philza Minecraft is pissed af about the island trying to kill the eggs.

He just handles that anger differently from some other qsmp members. This is for most because of his relationship with finite endings and death. As the hardcore player of Minecraft that he is, Philza is very well acquainted with the possibility and certainty that something you love will die and that you will have to say goodbye. Regardless of how much effort you put into it or how much you love it.

The only thing you can do is to try to prepare as much as you can and avoid all unnecessary risks to delay the inevitable.

And that is exactly what he does with the eggs as well. He grinds off stream to get better weapons that will have a lower chance of backfiring on the eggs, he instructs Chayanne how to land crits to do more damage and makes sure that Tallulah wears her armour when going out.

More importantly, he constantly reminds the eggs that the only thing that they can do is to try to keep themselves alive by improving their chances of survival but that ultimately, the island wants them dead and that is not something that they can fight against. He explains that there will be and already have been unfair fights that they were not meant to win. That this is just the world that they live in.

This does not mean however that he has given up or is not mad. He is still willing to fight.

You can hear his anger if you listen to the way he shouts at the admins in the sky about unfair combat chances, about how the binary monster is a coward and how the island is a fraud as they do not want them happy at all, regardless about what they claim about enjoying about the island.

It is in the way that he names his weapon designed to fight the binary moster 'D I E' in binary code.

It is in the way how quiet he got when Tallulah and Chayanne were unfairly killed out of nothing during the 'nightmare' on the beach.

But most of all, it is in the way that he makes sure that he spends his time with the eggs in joy instead of wallowing in sadness or anger. Because he knows the value of enjoying the time you have left before something is lost or unreachable forever.

He hates not being able to fly, flying is/was the main way he would de-stress. Nothing makes him feel lighter than the breeze in his feathers and a breathtaking view

Obligatory Shiny Good Crow Brain mention. Why do you think his backpacks need sorting like once every few weeks (though he neglects them for longer than that)? And shiny is not always literal. Sometimes it means flowers or pretty types of wood or a neat mob.

Every once in a while someone can get him to laugh in a way that Almost sounds like a squawk. He doesn't know how it happens, it's like an involuntary snort laugh, but with cawing.

Unfortunately for him, playfully raising his blood pressure (stares at the kids, Tubbo, the polycule, some others) is kinda funny. It's the way he gets louder the more exasperated he gets.

He has 100% slept so hard that he snored loud enough to earn a kick in the side from Chayanne

Speaking of sleep, this idiot will pass out in that wooden chair and then wake up in the morning and bitch about his neck aching as if he isn't the reason it's aching. Lullah especially has roasted him for this

His dedication to Chayanne and Lullah can go unmentioned bc it's just so obvious but I need everyone to understand it's not just how he'd burn the island to ashes for them. It's also how he'd stop mid-tea party with Lullah, Pomme & Co, dressed the whole nine yards in a tutu, tiara & obnoxious amounts of pretend jewelry to beat the ever-loving SHIT out of a threat

At first Irish Goodbyes were unintentional (which is what made them so funny) but now it's become one of the biggest bits he's committed to. This man loves embodying that gif of the dude going ✌🏻 and vanishing.

Calling back to the Bit Commitment hc: "The 4th Wall" is a bit he made up and won't stop referencing. It's not that he's fail rping in meta, he's getting conspiracy-style existential as a joke and that's why Lullah hates it so much

Stealing this one from my hcs about my angel OC inspired by Phil: If you put him in water, his wings will involuntarily flap like a bird in a bath. It isn't nonstop, it's like a stim he can't help doing every so often.

He loves Rose so much. She instantly makes him feel safe. He regularly has to resist the urge to passionately gush about her to people because he knows they'd be like What The Fuck Are You On About. Rose is blorbo from his brain (little does he know, she isn't entirely)

He likes to pretend he isn't, but he's sentimental as hell. Why do you think he hasn't changed the ugly dirt shack? Why do you think he has so many backpacks of stuff? He's got that crow hoarder brain but he also just attaches to things to easily. Nostalgia and love for history has him in a death grip. Little does he know, it's a trait he's kept from his past

Speaking of his past, until I get canon story explaining otherwise, in my mind he IS hardcore!Phil but the Federation wiped his memory after somehow managing to invite him to the island. The Ender King & Rose's arrivals into qsmp canon are two very different ways of attempting to trigger his memories. What he thinks are dreams are actually those forgotten memories of what he was doing before coming to the island
