Description:

After hearing the news of her cousin Yasin's disappearance, Aila sets off to join her aunt in Winden; where she will meet a certain mysterious priest, who unbeknownst to her- had killed her cousin. Will she figure out the mystery of the 'Missing kids', and bring her cousin home, or will it be in vain?

"Aila...Yasin he- he's missing, I- I don't know what to do-" The distraught voice, on the point of hyperventillation, of aunt Fatima had reached Aila's ears a couple hours before.

She had immediately packed a duffle bag and booked a bus to Winden afterwards.

Even now, while she sat as the lone passenger in the bus, the news hadn't yet truly settled in- missing, he was missing.

Yasin, her baby cousin, who was like- no, he is her little brother- he's missing. Gone.

How.

Her throat felt heavy, and she felt like a weight was holding her-submerging her down then. The restless hum of the bus, and heavy pelting of the rain against the windows couldn't bring her out of it.

Her green eyes stared at nothing while those words echoed through her head, looping and suffocating her with its implications.

The bus rumbled forwards, but Aila remained fixed on her seat.

Her mind was fully submerged then, with screaming shouts swimming in vicious cycles throughout it.

He's just a boy, a child.

It sent a wave of nausea through her, especially when she pictured him in her mind, his bright eyes and wide smile, and the most beautiful laugh which then rinkled through her ears as though he was right there with her before it was all swallowed by the distorted lights from outside of the bus' window, which then cut the memory she had formed of her cousin in half, turning it into something half-formed, something that wasn't him, before it turned to nothing and passing trees met her blank gaze.

She had never imagined it, especially not to him. Yasin should have been safe at home, it was a small town for god's sake! Nothing happens in small towns.

But it had, and now three kids were missing.

If there truly was a god, why would he do this, especially to ones so innocent?

Those who haven't even known the true cruelty that is life, they didn't deserve it- it should have been her.

She did not feel the way her nails cut into her flesh, for she was filled with grief, disbelief, but most of all- anger.

"-Hey, it's your stop!" The bus driver's sharp voice then cut through the dark spiralling that was her thoughts.

Aila then blinked, before she moved to stand up from her seat, her limbs felt heavy, fingers numb. Her head then turned to the awaiting man when she moved towards the front of the bus, where the door was opened for her. She then moved her expression into something passable, something that did not scream the dread and simultaneous rage she was feeling.

"Thank you," She told the man in a measured tone, and with a nod she was then off the bus, which immediately headed off to its next course while her gaze met the lone and alighted bus stop of the unnasuming town of Winden, where its dark skies, not quite soft hitting rain and view of its Nuclear twin Power Plants welcomed her in its polluted embrace.

The downpour of the rain has not eased by by the time she had finally reached the Friese household. Water clung to her clothes like a second skin, she barely lifted her hand when the door opened in front of her and the tear-streaked face of her aunt met her gaze, her eyes were swollen and red, she looked so frail that the wind could push her away by the way she stood barely upright.

Stepping inside the quant yet cosy house, her aunt- as if the motion had stolen the last of her strenght- collapsed against her, her face burrowed with a sob into her wet jacket and Aila could only wrap her arms around her aunt's shaking form in comfort.

"It's going to be alright, we'll find him." She murmered while her hands smoothed over her aunt's trembling back.

She had of course resisted at first, but exhaustion had long since claimed her aunt after she guided her to her bedroom, urged and then covered her beneath her blanket.

Looking at the dark circles beneath her eyes, which now softened its heavy hold upon her aunt, a clear indication that she hadn't had a moment of respite, even now in her sleep her mind cannot seem to let her go. Aila then watched as her body curled into itself, she moved to softly caress her upon her cheek, which made her aunt's breathing then even out, and her body relax, Morpheus' arms have now finally reached her into his embrace, and only when she was certain that her aunt was truly asleep did she retreat out of the room.

Exhaling soflty, she closed the door behind her, but not before her gaze met the opened door of the lone room at the end of the hallway- it was Yasin's bedroom.

She felt her stomach then twist into a knot, but she forced herself to move towards it, the floor creaked beneath her weight.

Looking into the bedroom- it looked untouched, frozen in time, with his bed neatly made bed, toys, books and drawings spread around the room with a singular desk lamp on as though her cousin would be returning any moment now.

And without thinking much of it, Aila lowered herself to sit upon the duvet of the bed, the fabric was soft and- warm beneath her fingers, as though Yasin's presence still lingered within these four walls.

Roughly inhaling some air, she then tried to steady herself from the onslaught of emotions she felt bubbling upwards, those that she had tried to force down from the moment she had heard the horrible news- even now, she forcibly pushes it down.

Closing her eyes, while her expression contorts into a painful grimace, she sits still in the silent room where the absence of its original inhabitant was deafening- it screamed at her.

The sound of it throbbed within her ears like an unbearable hum, a loud drum that pounded into her skull.

She then felt the air press against her from all sides, it was heavy and thick, like it was trying to smother her like the Boa constrictor that was pictured upon the wall infront of her now wide eyes, trying to smother her beneath its choking weight.

She then forcibly pulled herself out of the room, leaning against the wall besides the room, she forced air into her lungs, and tried to steady her breathing to not wake her aunt up, for she deserved to have some rest, before she then wandered out of the hallway towards the living room, where she will take up vigil in her aunt's stead, even when the the silence here, while not as - it still felt unbearable to her, but she would ignore it.

Focus on something else, she then firmly thought to herself, before her gaze went towards her bag, which she then pulled towards her to pull out her laptop.

She promised that she would bring her cousin back, and so she would by looking into his dissapearance first.

"Where are you, Yasin." She softly whispered while her eyes moved over the articles and confidential documents of the police in front of her.

Well that was the first chapter (yes I'm definitely continuing this if anyone wants me to, even if it's only two or three readers) , and yes sorry that there wasn't any Noah interaction (yet) ! There will most definitely be some in the next chapter, I can promise you that :))

The two of you met when Daryl was out on a solo scouting trip for Alexandria. For him it was a very typical trip and the only difference was he was a bit further out than he normally would go. In an area with a lot of farms so he was hoping he could come across some livestock or animal feed for their current animals. As luck would have it, he did. But he also found you. You were very shy and very closed off at first when you saw this strange and very dirty man but after some - albeit stunted - conversing, you discovered he was actually quite nice. You agreed to give him some animal feed in exchange for some bullets to protect your few livestock.

Things were slow at first, both of you too weary of the other to get all buddy buddy but over the course of three weeks you grew close in his visits. He began to stay longer and longer each time and enjoyed the quietness that managed to surround your quant farm. The two of you would spend your time working on the upkeep of the animal pens, the few garden foods you grew and on the off time he’d lay with you in the fields and watch your small flock of sheep graze. 

What ended up pushing for him to confess was the day he watched you get thrown off your newly acquired horse, while you were in a session to break him in. Daryl rushed imeaditaly to your aid and upon seeing you hurt he slightly lashed out at the horse. “HEY IT’S NOT HIS FAULT!” You chastised him. He felt a little ashamed for reacting the way he did and quietly and bedgrudenly apologized to the horse. Thankfully you only had some bruising and a slight sprain on your wrist but Daryl insisted he stay a day or two longer than he normally should to watch over you. It was the second-to-last day of his care, that he confessed his likeling towards you in typical Daryl Dixon fashion of course. You of course reciprocated his feelings, though you never really expected something like this to happen, after all the world had semi-ended but hey, love was in the air.

Not much changed afterwards. Things were only subtly different, there was no longer a lingering space between the two of you when you laid in the fields under the clear skies and sometimes he would ask you to sing to him while you did chores with one another. He told you about how it reminded him of Beth and you confided in him about the group you once had before you were alone and how his presence eased some unconscious worries you had originally had. He moved his things to your home after a while and informed the Alexandrians about their new safe space for their animals and over time some of them ventured over to help with the upkeep of the land.

Thirteen Years [Porco Galliard x reader] 16

Note: this chapter does involve a lot of drinking. I wrote this in the lens of a party were drinking is involved. This chapter is not me condoning binge drinking. Please drink responsibly!

Your house shone brightly against the dimly lit street, the lights within still burning brightly though the rest where dark and silent. Although the house was small and the foundation cracked and run down, it tightly occupied friends and family alike as the night continued on. Your eyes were blurry and your cheeks were hot, but you tipped your bottle back and took yet another sip of the drink that made you woozy. There was laughter and joy around you, although intoxicated, the smile on your features never left throughout the night.

You usually weren't the one who engaged in drinking, the effect of alcohol always whisking you away into swearing you would never drink again. Tonight was different, however, you wanted to celebrate. The impromptu proposal was, of course, means of jubilee; as soon as the ones closest to you heard, a party was required. The quant kitchen of your home that was once pristinely clean, was littered with cups and empty bottles. You sat in a chair at the table, Porco beside of you, and your friends gathered around as joyous laughter and conversation ensued.

Zeke positioned himself across the table from both of you, though his voice carried loudly as if he were next to you. "... so he proceeds to tell me right after a meeting." His voice held a chuckle as he continued on, "You should have seen his face! 'Practically pissing himself from excitement!" A laughter erupted from the room as he finished his drunken rant; recounting how Porco had told the older man the news.

The man beside you let out a chuckle, intoxicated enough to finally laugh at himself for once. His hazel eyes swam in a drunken stupor, and he sat back in his chair to refrain from swaying. The drink in his hand, nearly gone as he took another sip of the hoppy liquid. "And you didn't even believe me the first time," he quipped. His eyes now flickered over to you with a smile, "can you believe he called me a liar when I told him?"

The heavy, oak door shut behind the man with a loud thud. The idle voices behind it now completely silent as the door closed and he began to walk. Hazel eyes scanned the building before him, finally stopping on just the man he wished to speak to. He quickened his pace, boots hitting the wood floor was a small 'thump' as he did. "Zeke!" Porco's voice carried to the man a few yards away from him, causing him to halt and turn back.

"Are you ok?" The elder blonde asked, giving Porco an obscure look as he saw a smile on his face. "I've never seen you so happy to see me before in my life." As Porco stopped before him, he motioned the man to walk withhim. Complying, the two men began to walk together back to the internment zone.

"I have good news," the younger blonde mused, "great news actually." Zeke pushed up his glasses to the bridge of his nose and looked over to him.

"We have a meeting about Paradis, and you have good news to share?" His voice sounded doubtful, and laced with a sense of pessimism.

Porco only rolled his eyes at the man's response, "I proposed to (Y/n) last night." The words rolled off his tongue with ease, an excitement to them that was easily apparent.

Porco's words made the other stop in his tracks, giving the man yet another look of obscurity. "No you didn't," he simply stated before an, almost forced, chuckle left his lips. "Pieck and I had to beg you just to tell them you loved them; there's no way in hell you did that Galliard."

A sense of urgency filled the man, as he felt offense to the statement. Deep down, he knew Zeke had a point; but he pushed the memory behind as excitement still pent up inside him. "But I did," he retorted. The man gave the argument of a child, making Zeke roll his eyes and continue walking. With a huff, he followed after him. "I'm serious! Why the hell would I lie about this?"

The elder was growing quite old of stopping and talking, although he stopped once more despite it. The glasses clad man only looked at Porco, seeing a quite genuine emotion swimming in his eyes that he has never once seen. "Holy shit," he spoke with a chuckle, a smile finally growing on his features. "You really did, didn't you?" He asked rhetorically, "how'd you ask?"

Porco anticipated the question, as Pieck asked the same when he told the woman. But he still found himself embarrassed to say; although it was beautiful by the end, the act itself made him cave into himself to reminisce about. The nerves and lack of confidence he held in the moment would certainly earn an earful. "Honestly," he began with a small sigh, "I made a joke about getting a red armband and it... 'kinda just slipped out."

Zeke choked out a laugh, trying to contain his chuckles and laughter as the man before him wore his heart on his sleeve. "You made a joke and it just slipped out, huh?" He spoke softly, repeating his statement, further swallowing his pride to contain his laughter. "You really did ask then," he said with a chuckle. "No chance you would tell me that you looked like a fool for the fun of it - you never were one for romance."

The night continued on with a thick feeling of nostalgia, reminiscing on the past together as though it happened yesterday. But intoxication only climbed higher and higher, and you rubbed your eyes to try to fix the blurriness but to no avail. Every inch of you felt scorched, taking off your jacket throughout the course of the night only helped slightly, and your mouth felt as if you had ate sand. You hadn't realized most had came and went through the night, leaving only a few friends left around the table. Zeke settled with his head resting on his hand, unaware of the world around him as he was fast asleep. You tried to muster up the strength to stand up, only to immediately sit back down as your surroundings began to spin. Blinking hard, you let out a groan, "I'm really fucking drunk."

A low chuckle beside you made your eyes flutter towards it, "I can tell," the male's voice spoke softly. Porco sat back in his chair as he looked over at you, although you couldn't see it, his eyes no longer carried the same inebriety as before. Unbeknownst to you, the man had stopped drinking well into the night, now almost stone sober as he sat next to you. He had watched with caring eyes as you tripped over your words, told grandiose stories, and slowly but surely fall into intemperance during the night. While he was never one to turn down a drink, he did so to ensure you were safe and to continue your night without a hitch. "I was hoping you were drunk enough to get on the table with Zeke again like last time."

Your brain scattered around to vaguely recall the memory, once it did you let a laugh escape your lips. Despite the fact the memory came in snapshots - it was quite fond. You and Zeke drunkenly, and badly, singing a song you learned from your childhood all while on the very table in front of you. "I promised myself I would never get that drunk again," you spoke with a chuckle. The memory made you smile, but you fought to recall as many details as you could from your drunken mind. "I still can't believe I did that."

"Oh, you better believe it," he teased with a laugh. "I will never forget that. It was the funniest shit I've seen in a long time." To his words, you tried to nudge his side, but you misjudged his distance from you. Although he wasn't far from you, the distance was enough that your body weight started to fall from the lack of contact with him. He quickly grabbed your arm to center you, slightly getting up in the process. Assuring you were alright, he moved the legs of the chair with his foot and kept his gentle hold on you. He made sure the chair was under himself before sitting back down, this time closer to you. "Christ- you always scare the shit out of me when you're drunk."

"How?" You haphazardly asked with a smile. "I never do anything too dangerous."

"You choke on your own spit even when you're sober, dear," he quipped. "You are a walking hazard when you're drunk." You felt as his hand left your arm and heard the chair screech as he arose from his seat. He stretched quickly before offering his hand out for you to take. "And before you do anything else, you need to go to bed," he suggested. A groan left your lips, to which he simply rolled his eyes. "C'mon," he coaxed. "Don't make me pick you up and carry you there."

Letting out a drunken chuckle, you only looked up at him with a silly smile. That was exactly what you wanted. Letting out a loud sigh, and rolling his eyes once more, he complied. Gently pulling back your chair, he dropped his arm under your knees, the other going around your waist. As he lifted you up, you kissed his cheek and chuckled again. "I need to stop spoiling you," he mumbled, "you'll go around telling people I've gone soft."

He only heard you hum at his words, now feeling your head rest on his shoulder as he carefully carried you towards your room. Hazel eyes flickered over to see Pieck, her head resting on the wall directly behind her as she sat fully asleep in a chair. And Colt, fast asleep on the cold, wooden floor, the still half full bottle in his hand as he slept. He scoffed silently, thinking to himself that tables have surely turned and he was the one "babysitting" now. But now, more than ever, he felt normal. Not Eldian, not the Jaw Titan, and not an Honorary Marleyan - normal. A normal where young adults made stupid mistakes and drank a little too much. A normal where his friends gathered to occupy each other's company. And a normal that contained carrying you to bed, like any other loving couple would.

He felt a smile creep to his lips just before he gently pushed your door open, the creaking echoing throughout the now silent home. Maneuvering inside, he carefully stepped over the articles of clothing and other items on your floor. Setting you down gently atop your bed, he paused for a moment. He couldn't help but stop and stare, taking in every detail of your features. Though you had already closed your eyes, he heard you hum once more. "Come here," you spoke softly.

Two words was more than enough for him to crawl into bed with you. Pulling up the sheets and blankets sprawled amongst your bed over the both of you. Wrapping a strong arm around you, he pulled you closer to him. "I love you (Y/n)," he whispered. To which he heard an almost incoherent 'I love you too' in return as you drifted off to sleep.

Gael'thak the Cruel has never seen anything like this before.

As an evil ruler of the vast, opressed lands his life was starting to get a bit monotone. Sit around, make evil decrees, order the murder of babies, raise the taxes by 200%, occasionally hear news about some adventurer preparing to beat him and free the Lands, wait about six months for the kid to show up and then pulverise them, the usual. So, when about 3 days ago he recieved news of another adventurer wanting to shoot his shot, he didn't think much of it. Just an extra chore, no more, no less. Hell, maybe it'll even get rid of his neverending boredom for an hour or so.

So, with that being said, he was utterly baffled to hear that Admiral The'rer had been slain a mere day ago. He was the guard of the Winter Palace where his riches lay, and it usually took the make-shift heroes about 4 months to strike him down, with non-lethal consequences at that, after which they'd spent two more plotting and aquiring better weapons before trying to raid the castle. This one was banging at the door of his palace in the time it usually took for them to finally crawl out of their backwards village in the West. And it wasn't due to beginner's luck, oh no. Gael'thak could hear the thumps and slices and blood-curdling screams of his most loyal and most powerful guards, the mystery hero having gone through them like a scythe through wheat.

As the sounds grew closer, Gael'thak's blood ran colder and colder, as if the very presence of the powerful stranger was turning it into ice. He muttered a quick prayer to whatever gods were left that would maybe listen to him and grant him mercy.

And then the doors burst open.

The man who walked through was the opposite of a typical hero. Instead of armor so thick and quantative that it limited their movements and the tell-tale giant sword glowing with enchantments, the hero was almost completely naked, with only a loincloth, a quiver on their hip and an honest-to-gods bucket on their head. Their sword seemed nothing short of ordinary, completely unremarkable and harmless, and their bow, if you could even call it that, looked like a twig snapped off some Backwards Village tree and haphazardly stringed. If not for the carnage he'd heard less than two minutes ago Gael'thak would've laugh at the man.

The stranger moved forwards with practiced ease, every movement intentional and almost rehersed. He ran forwards and lunged at Gael'thak, his ordinary sword shining a bloodthirsty gleam and his palms lighting up with some ancient magic.

As the blade drew impossibly close, Gael'thak's mind flashed with one, incomprehensible word that sent shivers down his spine.
