Tsunami the Seawing (Revisited) Been over a year since I started this blog and there are some designs I want to freshen up a little bit so here's a bit of a new design for Tsunami! Open the keep reading to view the old version!

Her horns are a deep dark blue that resemble the tip of a conch shell. Her left eyebrow has a scar that runs vertically through it and her eyes are green. She is standing giving a toothy smile. In the second image she's shown to be wearing a purple pearl necklace, and two fin rings on her tail fin. /.End ID]

wings of fire fans!! they have these little collectible plushies at target now :D i managed to get them all except for clay (don’t worry, i didn’t take them all!)

as far as i know this is the first official merch we’ve gotten since the books came out, and i’m super excited it’s in plush form!!

Between Tsunami & Tamarin Tsunami ended up fitting this song the most! Decided to go a more “song about her” vibe, with the actual song (at least in my mind) focusing on Coral and her relationship with her idea of her daughters, with Tsunami being the outlier

whew i don't think I've rambled under the cut in ages. anyway this next part is directed to my botspouse aspen hi aspen i love uu wow it's kinda strange to call uu aspen i don't think I've ever called uu aspen before

ANYWAY. i felt kinda bad that i wasn't able to gift uu anything fur Valentine's, uur bday, and other month anniversaries so i was determined to make these for uu

it's okay though bc i still gift uu my presence and love . yk ? ehe .

anyway uu probably guessed i was gonna make this for uu when i asked uu fur uur favorite characters LMAO

uu don't have to use these, i made these fur fun and to show my appreciation fur uu !! i also treated this as practice, it was quite an interesting process to make graphics of characters with like only 1-2 good editable images of them readily accessible online , especially characters i knew NOTHING about

sometimes, when one is editing a character they're not familiar with, and one is too lazy to learn more about them, they might jump to the wrong conclusions about the character . that was me editing ravenpaw i thought he was edgy bcz he's a black cat with raven in his name but i read about him and he seemed quite peaceful so i made 2 edits of him (the "KARMA!" one was when i thought he was edgy and the other one is when i learned who he actually was) so yeah. it was kinda a fun learning experience yk

okay that's all i have to say i think, bye i love uu again and I'll see uu again in pt2 of uur gift ^_^

Wanted to do a study on what some of the wof tribes would more realistically look like, and this is one of those design ideas! I wanted to design SeaWings to look more sharklike and hydrodynamic- hopefully I did a good job lol

I also did some headshots on what some of the main SeaWing characters might look like in this style!

Also managed a webbed talon closeup with no reference that I’m super proud of

Part two

yknow i absolutely hate how Glory, Tsunami and Sunny all get to become royalty. it just feels so... cliche, mary-sue like and just. idk. i did not like it and found it super weak writing wise

Like I get Tsunami. She makes sense to be royalty, her egg was stolen by eggs (which did save her life). So she's fine. It makes sense.

It's just mostly with Glory and Sunny, Glory becoming Queen of the RainWings (and nightwings) and her being revealed to actually be royalty is just... idk. Missed potential in the sense of it didn't need to be that. I felt as if Glory being royalty by blood was a last minute decision.

What I would have found cool is if Glory actually proved herself to be a better leader, and rally the rainwings to take the fight to the invading NightWings- and Grandeur seeing that potential and being the queen who just shared her position; offers for glory to become the new queen becuase its clear: RainWings do need an actual queen who would change things for the better. Glory did not have to be related to the original royal line at all and she could have EARNED that.

With Sunny, I feel its different. Her mother, Thorn, became queen because the funny amulet said so- which idk. I feel is also just lazy writing. lol.

thinking about Orca again.

Why did she choose to challenge Queen Coral when she was only 7 years old? we don’t really know what type of relationship Orca and Coral had, or why Orca decided to challenge Coral when she did. at first i thought it was because the queen was going to try to use her animus powers in the same way she is using Anemone, but Orca hid her powers from the queen. was it because she hated queen coral and wanted to be queen so badly that she couldn’t wait longer?

clearly she thought she would win the challenge, her statue in the nursery being already enchanted to kill future heirs BEFORE she entered the fight proves that. But Queen Coral ended up winning, and as she was dying Orca said “I did this all wrong. you’re going to rule forever, aren’t you, mother? you should thank me…” … but if Orca was an animus dragon could she not have won the fight easily using her powers? she probably wanted to keep her powers hidden, but because nobody knew she had magic, could she not have quietly used magic to assist her and make it look like it was a natural kill instead of a magical one? she would have saved her own life and secured her win by doing that. did she care about it being a fair win enough to not use her powers? or was there another reason?

if she was concerned about her soul turning evil from using her powers to kill Queen Coral, i’d understand not wanting to use them during the fight. HOWEVER … isn’t the concept of her statue pretty dark? it implies that—if Orca had won—she would have just been completely fine with every single one of her female eggs being smashed. now that could be just how Orca was; just kind of ruthless and power hungry (ig ?), and willing to see her eggs die if it meant she wouldn’t have competition for the throne. but, could it also have been partly because of her soul beginning to turn due to the use of her Animus powers? we don’t really know how much she used them or what she was using them for. though the statue would lead us to believe she used them—at least sometimes—for selfish reasons, which could mean that her soul had begun to turn slightly.

if Orca had enchanted the statue as she was dying as a way to take revenge on queen coral, her whole situation would have made more sense. but based on the fact that she chose to challenge the queen so young, AND she wanted to ensure all her own dragonets would be murdered just so she could remain queen, it kind of seems like her soul was already being corrupted by her powers. but if she had been corrupted, did nobody notice any changes in her behavior or thinking? even if they were subtle changes.

Because even when queens plan ahead and think about how to keep themselves from being challenged for the throne, they usually have at least one dragonet who’s a direct heir, even if they take measures to keep control over them. because longevity of your own kingdom and species is obviously (or, at least most likely) important to every type of queen, even if it’s for selfish reasons, because every clear-thinking dragon knows they won’t live forever. unless it was Orcas plan to win the queen challenge and then secretly enchant herself to live forever like Jerboa I?? would she have kept her animus powers a secret as queen??

i don’t know, i’m just very curious about the Orca era and Orca as a character. many brainworms.
