At the beginning of this year, I prepared myself to work towards getting A grades for my Honours degree. "Keep your head low and nose in your books," is what I literally told myself to do. But I wasn't prepared to have my Anxiety triggered. And then having heart palpitations, panic attacks, sleepless nights and high stress levels at different times of the year. So many external forces said I should "Give up," but my inner determination said "Rise up." And despite all the physical, mental and emotional battles I was fighting, I bagged 2 A's out of the 5 modules I've completed so far. There's no greater feeling than being put through a little fire and coming out rock solid. When's the last time you gave yourself a hug? I know it sounds funny, but I'm completely serious. When I first started working on my inner child, I realized that she needed a lot of love and attention. As a result of this observation, I started giving myself hugs. It felt foreign at first, but over time it became a beautiful experience. __ We typically look to others to give us that kind of affection. It can be helpful, but at the same time, you don't know what kind of energy they're caring. After I started getting comfortable with hugging myself I experienced a different type of love. There were times when I cried because it felt so good to just be there for myself. And to give her what she needed during the time. There is so much to this healing process that I've never heard anyone mention. At the same time, I am glad that I am figuring it out on my own.
