Hey there, recently you mentioned ideas for Silver and Espio's parents' names (btw, I loved the Espio's mother's name)
So I got me wondering: Do you have some idea for Gold's parents names?
Hello ^-^ I'm glad you liked it! Kusa has got a double meaning to it: it means grass in Japanese, tying in to Espio's mother having green eyes as opposed to yellow, but it's also a way to say ninja! And Jisho.org, the dictionary I use, gives as third meaning not genuine; substandard; that can nicely reflect to her relationship with and view on her son.
For Gold's parents, I have a document with two names, namely Kamal and Maya. Because Evan Stanley described Gold as stemming from "whatever the Sonic world equivalent of India is", I wanted to try and honour that in their names. Following my research, Kamal can mean lotus in Hindi, which ties to the plant naming theme Gold and her seven siblings have. And Maya can mean dream or illusion and is another way to spell Lakshmi, which is the name of the goddess of wealth, fortune, power, beauty, and prosperity in Sanskrit (a language that seems to tie to Hinduism as well). But all of this is based on some Google researching on those baby name websites and Wikipedia, so I have no idea how closely it exactly fits to everything in the real world. Still, Kamal and Maya are both actual given names, so I guess for Gold's parents I have those two in mind!

IN THIS ESSAY I WILL EXPLAIN WHY I FUCKIGN LOVE DIBPER
I didn't wanna clog up the dash w me reblogging tia's post so im gna talk abt it here!!
Okay so from the context of why Dib works so well with Dipper is because they are very similar in a lot of ways but have very different strengths, and therefore can support each other. To explain quickly, Dib's motivations in canon are basically "expose zim to the world as an alien so they'll finally take me seriously (but mostly my dad)". All he really wants is his father's approval, who AHEM, is essentially abusive and i fucking hate professor membrane so much fucking fuckity fuck shit-- excuse me. Anyways everyone in his life writes him off as crazy for believing in the paranormal.
Dipper is also like this to an extent, he wants to impress a father figure (Ford) and towards the start of the show is depicted as slightly paranoid, so he can understand where Dib is coming from on that front. Also can you imagine Dib telling Dipper "my fucking classmate is an alien, here, look at these pictures!" and Dipper nodding, and going "yeah omg that's so cool!". Like I think Dib would start fucking sobbing. He just wants to be believed and respected and not shoved into the mold his dad wants him to fill, and Dipper believes him!
Coming from Dipper's point of view, he doesn't have very much self confidence. Of course, he does gain some as his character develops, but Dib would definitely be there to pick up the slack. He is extremely confident in the show, or at least lacks the awareness to lose confidence, and therefore is a lot more reckless than Dipper. 50 step plans? Hell no, he's throwing himself into situations without thinking of a way out at all. So basically Dipper's anxiety is an Immovable Object and Dib's recklessness is an Unstoppable Force. This way, Dib would pull Dipper out of his comfort zone and Dipper would reel Dib in a bit so he doesn't get himself too hurt.
On the similar side though, both of them are passionate and obsessive, Dib keeps tabs on Zim constantly and Dipper keeps up the journals so they both like logging their findings. I think to a certain extent both of them kinda want recognition for their research so I could easily see them publishing some of it together whether it just be in a book or an actual academic journal. They're both nerdy as fuck (but in different ways), Dib is good with machinery and tech while Dipper is good with organization and numbers. (Headcanon: Dipper tries to get Dib to play DD&MD with him but Dib's ADHD brain gets bored of all the numbers very quickly lol). They are both v good boys and I love them.
Most of this stuff is just stemming from canon and has nothing to do with the ADDITIONAL headcanons I have for these motherfuckers, so let's just rapid fire those: 1. Dib can cook, Dipper can not. If it wasnt for Dib, Dipper would be living off microwave spaghettios to this day. 2. Likewise, Dib cannot fucking drive, Dipper does all the driving for them. 3. Dipper is still kind of insecure about his masculinity even into adulthood, but Dib is rlly gnc and it kind of eases his nerves seeing that his partner wears all sorts of clothes and isn't questioned. 4. They both chew their pens. Ew. 5. Dib is always cold, Dipper is always warm, together they make the perfect human body temperature.
Those are mostly just general headcanons, I have way too many fucking aus and unless you want this essay to be literally the length of a novel I'll restrain myself. The main au I talk about (and am writing a fic for with my friend @/kuzakat), is the murder boys/murder boyfriends au, wherein Dib is a serial killer and Very Annoying and Dipper is just trying to get him out of his hair lmfao. Its basically a hannibal au by accident but blame Kuza for that because THEY watched it and I haven't, so for all I know they subtly shoved in hannibal details while I was none the wiser. UHH other than that I have my Farm AU, Telekinesis Au, Horror Au, Angel/Demon Au, and the Betrayal Au, but I might be missing some. So yeah. Ask me about my aus if you want I love talkin about them!!

Scenario - Meet the Parents
I feel as though if I brought home any of the Lion-kuza, my mom would be severely judging every life choice I ever made. That said, I'd still say it was worth it for Agata. I'll suffer the judgemental stares for you, gamer lion.
On the "less likely to be judged eternally by every member of the extended family and even some people I've never met by proxy" end of things, either Legosi or Jack would be easy sells. Jack is just so gosh darn polite, and the intelligence would win him points. Legosi would be slightly tougher depending on when in the timeline we're talking.
If he's in his early Cherryton appearance, then shy but polite wolf boy is going to win big points. If we're talking high school dropout missing half his ear with a gunshot scar, that's definitely leaning towards Lion-kuza levels of difficulty. But his politeness is still there, even if he's less shy, so he'd probably manage to not get judged too harshly.
In the end though, my mom is cool in so many ways, and it would ultimately come down to "do they make you happy and do they treat you well?"
As long as I can say yes to both those questions, they'll get the seal of approval.
you’re mom sounds so sweet ♥️
my mom would have a stroke if I brought Free home.

♦⚜☣ツ !!
Questions for the Mun
Tumblr media
♦ What's an AU that you've always wanted?
y a KUZA AU YAKUZA AU FUCKING YAKUZA AU don’t ask me why i’m so into organized crime plots maybe it’s because i genuinely wanted to join the mafia when i was younger buT YAKUZA AU LISTEN AIZEN WOULD BE SO FUCKING GODO IN ONE YEAH--
⚜ What is the best time to write for you? Why?
any time i’m awake lmao. literally i don’t have a “good time” to write or a “bad time.” either i’mm awake and able to write or my executive dysfunction and adhd strike to leave me just faffing around. but i try to get at least one thing written every day, even if it’s only on discord.
☣ What's one thing that will make you drop a thread?
honestly? if i don’t jive with the person i’m writing with. be it because they try to push things onto me that don’t fit my muse or that i’m not comfortable with ( and i try very hard to not push things onto people the idea of being pushy about things is mortifying-- ) or just misinterpreting how things can go. like, i like to think of myself as very friendly and easy to approach and talk to because i’m an adult who can handle discussing things, but the instant someone tries to force things onto me or my muses, be it canon lore i disagree with or their own interpretation or anything else, i tend to take an immediate step back from them and will often let the thread wither and die.
ツ Who has been your favorite muse to play so far? Why?
oh god. toss up between ardyn and aizen. i’m a villain writer. i love writing villains. especially complex villains like, you know, aizen. it’s only taken me ten fucking years to really start getting him down where i want him and i’ve discarded a LOT of what i used to think about him once because it never fit but i really like where i am with him now. he’s irritatated that i’m starting to pick him open and apart but suffer you brat--
/kicks him.
as for why? i love villains. i’m a villain fucker. but i also love to treat my favorites like geodes. i have to smash them open and see what they’re made of. and, honestly, there’s a fun balance that comes out of “this character still has their quirks and fallacies which makes them relatable as a person/maybe they had this tragedy occur within their lifetime/perhaps the reason why they are is x y and z but which of those reasons is the real and main one for making them tick this way?’ and showing that for as sympathetic as i can make my muses ( like aizen here -- ) for people which is a skill i’m damn good at -- THEY ARE STILL VILLAINS. i mean, sure, i’m happy to work them into being Diet Evil or something or at least Evil Lite or whatever the equivalent of Sunny D for Evil is ( ick, Sunny D. ) and while my muses can become better people--? they’re still, you know, very capable of switching gears and committing atrocities without blinking an eye.
it’s something i live for.

Tumblr media
"w-who is your wife?" Senth asks.
"Veronica Saito.. Shes Blonde.. with blue eyes... demanding, unreasonable... ya know, i thought Grace would always be uptight but i think you're an alright kid." Eizen says.
"But Grace is my friend too... i mean we all went to college together, you fuck with her you fuckin with all of us.. Zack excluded.. but me and Ezra... We can't have unhappy wives.. ya feel me?" He giggles lightly.
Tumblr media
"Ezra knows Grace?! wait you all went to college with her?! who the heck is Veronica?!" Senth says with so many questions.
"You'll find everything out okay... but here's the deal.. keep her happy, or ima hafta kill ya... kay, Enmei can't protect you when it comes to me..." Eizen sighs.
"Here's my last piece of advice, since you seem like a sweet kid.. i mean anybody who can tame stick up the ass Grace is cool people in my view, but lissten...." He says very lowly.
"Don't get too caught up in this hood life.. Enmei ain't your real boss, Akira is.. and the Simkuza.. is no joke.. don't get caught sellin in Mount Komorebi.. that's Kuza territory."
"Okay..." Senth says listening carefully unsure of why Eizen would do this today... of all days.

20 years ago, I wrote a sprawling Final Fantasy V fanfic. Never got around to finishing it, but that’s because I tried to link up the game to the OVA and followed some rabbits down holes and it got to be a mess. Also, I was very, very deep in the closet at the time.
Recently I got bitten by the FF5 bug again and spun this out. Without even thinking of it, I ended up retreading the path of the original fanfic. I guess I just got one mode ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. At least this time, I’m older, have more experience under my belt, and know more of what I’m doing.
So here, have some FF5 fic starter. Warning for dodgy, borderline-inappropriate and frankly confusing af subjects. I probably won’t do anything more on it for a while because Beta AU is my priority. I just wanted to get this out of my system.
After the reunification of the world, after cleaning up Enuo's legacy and ExDeath's hubris, settling back into the castle feels a lot like retiring.
There are still the old political power maneuverings by the opportunistic. Queen Lenna's nobles vie with each other for her favor; it's really too bad that she cares for none of their flattery. Walse rattles its sabers at her sometimes, but it's an old habit and there's no true threat behind the gestures. Karnak is still rebuilding; the last she heard, the spirit had gone out of their queen and the reconstruction of the castle was said to be cursed. Unassociated townships watch the newly reappearing kingdoms with trepidation. Without a king or a clear line of succession, Surgate has collapsed and the scholars of the nearby Ancient Library usurped it. The Nazalea islands, now united by long strips of land, are talking about politically uniting in a confederation, though Mirage and Crescent formerly-an-Island disapprove of any efforts to get them to surrender their sovereign rights. Bandits keep falling on Kuza Castle in the hopes of turning it into a base, and Butz has to go in every now and then with a crew of warriors to clear out the bodies. According to her spies, there is talk in Tule about petitioning for independence; Lenna hopes they'll bring the petition to her sooner rather than later. And so on.
And Bal... Well. Krile never wanted much to do with ruling. Bal keeps operating as it did in the aftermath of Galuf's death, but his granddaughter writes to Lenna sometimes of the dissatisfaction her court has with her disregard for her status as queen and how much she wishes to quit the entire enterprise of queenship and fly away.
Cloistered as Lenna is in the chambers that were once her parents', those issues feel so remote. She is isolated in a way she never felt before her world was upended and forced to merge with its other half. The friends she made during ExDeath's war are scattered, and only Faris visits with any regularity.
With Faris, Lenna has to navigate choppy waters in a rowboat. Faris would likely correct her on her choice of metaphors, but it feels right. Outside these chambers, Faris is Sarisa, Lenna's older sister, who was lost at sea when she was five years of age and grew up a pirate. Outside, she reins in any thought or feeling that is remotely inappropriate. Outside, they are simply sisters, though one is the picture of proper royalty and the other might have washed in on the tide.
Inside, it's different. Lenna had been four years old when Sarisa fell overboard in the middle of a storm, and they only met again fifteen years later. The few memories Lenna has are of a little girl with her hair pulled back in iron-curled tails. Faris' rough manner of speech and preferred dress are so far removed from those memories that they might as well be entirely different people. They got on surprisingly well, and Faris never made her feel like a burden. As the quest progressed, they spent more and more time talking over campfires and their shifts for the nightly watch tended to go entirely too long. It was so easy to fall in love with the dashing pirate captain with... his? her? streak of knightly chivalry that she sought out any connection with Faris. Anything at all.
That had been a mistake. What could have been a romance for the ages, springwater-clear and glorious, was hopelessly muddied by reality. If only she hadn't pressed the issue, if only she hadn't hounded Faris about their parentage, if only she hadn't revealed Faris to all of Tycoon Castle...
If only, if only...
Faris leans over a newly-drawn map of the world, green eyes distant as she contemplates geopolitics. Strands of sun-bleached hair escape the tight leather band holding her hair back and frames an exquisitely handsome face. The politics of nations are not so different from piracy, as it turns out. As there are no true friends among pirate captains, so there are no true friends among nations.
Lenna is reminded, again, of Krile's desire to fly away. Krile could get away with it, surely; she is a known eccentric who speaks to animals and spirits alike, and disappearing would not be unexpected of her. Faris was raised a pirate, and accouterments of royalty so poorly suit her that her disappearance would be a relief to those who find her coarseness inappropriate for a princess. Lenna was raised to be queen, to wield her sword in one hand and a scepter in another. She cannot afford the luxury of running away with her one true love.
"Any word on Surgate?" Faris asks suddenly, eyes glancing up to meet Lenna's. There's something more than just that one question in her expression.
The scholars talk about reorienting whole nations to shift power from nobles and royals to commoners. It hasn't been a popular subject among her peers, and with Surgate so close to Karnak borders, its queen has been muttering about rebuilding her wall to block the scholars from entering her lands. "Queen Karnak says that there might be violence if the Surgate experiment is successful." Lenna does not mention that it would be its queen who would instigate the violence.
Faris straightens, though her sea-roughened hands never quite leave the map entirely. She mulls over her words as if she's not entirely sure how to say what she wants. They both know that if the Surgate experiment is successful, if the scholars have a solid plan in place for a transition from a kingdom to rule by the commons, Krile will be the first on board. Walse and Karnak will fight it every step of the way. And her?
Finally the captain speaks. "Better to weather the storm than fight it."
Lenna wonders, then, whether the Surgate experiment will be her liberation or her doom. It's hard to tell at this stage.

After a teenage girl was killed and there was a sexual assault that took place over the Easter holiday in a nearby church, Khayelitsha residents organised a nonviolent march on Saturday, 23 April 2023.
Two ladies were robbed and sexually assaulted inside the Shower Of Blessings Zion church in Khayelitsha, and Thimna Kuza was abused and killed while at a sleepover at her friend's house.
The suspected offenders are still in jail, but for how long? How long will it be before police dockets, particularly those involving gender-based violence, disappear every day? The victims and their families are concerned about how many GBV-related cases are being dismissed from court as a result of missing dockets.
By informing individuals about the repercussions of infringing another person's rights, this significant barrier can be overcome. Inform the public on the causes of gender-based violence. You can help people open up by showing that you believe in and support survivors. Create workshops where young boys and girls will be educated and trained about GBV so they can coexist peacefully.
Everyone is affected by gender-based violence, but it especially affects women. Since many GBV instances involve both women and children, it also affects me as a woman. Now, as a young woman, it makes me wonder, "Am I next?" a question I believe many women and girls ask themselves. Because of the weird duality that our culture has created for women—that you need a man to be appreciated—I continuously live in terror. This has left me and many other women living in fear that in order for us and our rights to be acknowledged, we must be modest.
But I personally believe it is my obligation as an ethical citizen to speak up and advocate the voiceless.

i took that online survey that came with Yakuza Kiwami 2
one of the questions was “how much time do you need between yakuza releases” and i answered “no time, i can yakuza all day every day”
which...is probably true, but goddamn for my own health these games need to come out spaced out so i have time to breathe before diving back in. there is such a ridiculous amount of content in this series that jumping from one game to the next with almost no break would be absolute madness.
i dunno when ‘kuza 3 is coming out, but ima take a nice long break and get good at mario tennis and DBFZ or something

So i used to read BL alot in middleschool and early highschool but I stopped by the time I got into college. But I found a few good ones and started getting back into it. And based on the ones I recently read I noticed alot of differences compared to how BL used to be. Then again Im alot more picky now. So I was wondering have you noticed how BL as a genre has changed ? Like what new tropes or types of stories are there now? Or how has the depiction of BL type stories changed over the past7 yrs?
OOOooOOooo this is a good question that I’m probably not qualified to talkabout but FUCK IT!
My introduction to BL was back in the late 90s with Fake and Gravitation so myhigh school vs. now is much wider than 7 years.  I’ll confess I feel as ifit’s hard to track differences in such a short period of time so I’m going withmy longer track record. Tracking trends is especially difficult for me becausethroughout my time running this blog I have been reading stuff in no particularorder.
However I’m going to bullshit out for you trends I’ve noticed in the decadespan.  Is the decade tracking of trendsnonsense? It is, but I need a basic metric to go by.
I think art styles are the easiest things to notice but I’m going to focuson the writing.
90s
While BL was a thing before the 90s, I get the impression that it started totake off in this time period.  I wouldsay that the 90s had kinda an upswing in over-the-top, frivolous,poorly-written, zany styled manga that would typically feature high schoolers.Manga/animes like Gravitation, Eerie Queerie, and Bad Teacher Equation.
Yet on the other end of the spectrum were the melancholy, over-wrought,trying-so-hard-to-be-dark dramas featuring ~professional~ adult men.  Theysometimes took themselves super seriously.  I speak of titles like Mysexual harassment, Fish in the trap, Fumji Orchestra, Legend of the Bluewolves, and Space Between (anime specifically.)  Back then the antagonistswere mostly “worst rapists“ or unhinged, jealous harpies.  Without fail any woman who popped up was goingto be an 1-d antagonist.  Lots ofmisogyny there! Oh boy, lots!
Angels were also a thing? For reasons?
the 00s
I noticed in this time period that the trend for cross-dressing andover-the-top feminity in ukes was dying down in the genre.  While the genre has hardly turned tohard-bodied studs, there is more of an emphasis on boyish.  There used to be a lot more starklyeffeminate/androgynous ukes who (for whatever reason) cannot fathom why anybodywould mistake their traits for anything other than masculinity at its finest.(The reason is feeding placating the readers’ misogyny and/or love oftsunderes.)
There has also been a big rise in the Yakuza titles.  Now I can recall a few Yaoi Yakuza (Yao-kuza?)stories from the 90s but it has gotten bigger and stories now more focus on theYakuza aspect rather than it being a side-plot. Yet I will say the Yakuzatitles typically were not dark.
I would also say that titles were getting more self-aware? After theover-the-top drama of the 90s BL,
the 10s
I feel like recently there are two opposite dichotomies here too.
I feel like on one hand we have the more old-school style yaoi.  Thatbeing slice-of-life with obvious seme/uke, lots of rape, tsunderes for miles, cutesy schmaltz mixed in with abusive relationships.  Yanno the ones Ispeak, Purehearted Romance, Don’t be cruel, Private Tutor, and etc.
Yet on the other side we have things going in experimental directions.  We can thank fanfiction for the increasingpopularity of Omegaverse. There is also some self-aware parodying of the BLgenre like with His Favorite.
We can thank ML for making muscles and masculinity more of a thing in BL.  You more regularly get the blend of skinny +toned, like with Ogertsu Tanaka, and sometimes you get full grown beef-cakelike with Sakira’s stuff.  There’s alsomore acceptance that bottoms can have muscles.
One of the big things being played around with is the idea of slutty bottomswith agency.  That gives us titles Likethe Beast, Twittering birds, Yatamomo, and most recently Jealousy.  However this sometimes goes in the oppositeextreme with the rise in manga with rapist ukes.  While seme/uke dynamic is still pretty strongI would say it’s weakening.  There aremore couples who are the same size and no obvious seme/uke differentiating inthe physical features.  Sometimes they’lleven subvert who you’d predict to be the top.

Tell me your thoughts about dib!
OHHH ANON THIS IS SUCH A LOADED QUESTION,,,,
Tumblr media
OKAY WELL WHERE DO I BEGIN…hm…well recently i’ve been kinda thinking about how dib is so easy to shove in either direction of “normal but a lil feral/fucked up/mentally ill” or “literally a serial killer” with like, a nudge. (more below the cut also i start rambling about murder boys towards the end i am so sorry)
i tend to see a lot of ppl lean more towards the “a little feral but generally not a horrible person” because duh, of course. he is one of the main characters and if you project onto him you’re not gonna make him an insufferable asshole but also…GOD ITS SO FUN MAKING HIM A BASTARD!! BECAUSE HE IS!!
literally 9/10 times, DIB is the one antagonizing zim. DIB is causing problems on purpose, zim is simply reacting to them, and then dib takes that as a threat back and the nauseating cycle continues ad infinum. dibs a fucking bully and honestly a pretty big asshole and i think that is a criminally underutilized portion of his character. hes pretty much powerless in canon, the world around him sucks and everyone deems him as insane, stupid, or annoying. of COURSE he’s gonna bully the fuck out of zim! he’s finally above someone on the social ladder! obviously he’s like 12 in the show and the person you are when you’re 12 is (thankfully) not the person you are forever, but it does give us a fun base to play with. nudge him towards a nice little found family/healthy relationship/kindness? boom. you get mildly well adjusted dib who takes his medicine and showers as often as he can. nudge him a little in the other direction?? yeaaaaa babey make him snap and kill someone i know he wants to !!!! just give him a tipping point and a knife and let him do his thing. i’m sure it won’t be illegal /s >:) there are so many things that could break the camels back when it comes to dib you could just grab one and run with it. maybe his dad says something that pushes his buttons a little too hard. maybe he does something more drastic. maybe zim actually pushes the game too hard and gets himself killed bc dib gets too excited. maybe it’s for no reason. you decide !!
so yeah i just love the way u can make dib babey or bastard and both seem pretty in character. off the rails bastard dib has been on my brain lately tho fjsjfjskf. the way that i’ve been (hopefully!) writing him in murder boys reflects that bc i love making him super annoying and mean! since he’s like, 22? in murder boys he’s doing it with more self awareness, cause he knows he’s a bastard and is kind of just watching dipper squirm under his thumb for entertainment (at least towards the start of the story). if i were to sum up his character for the au in one screenshot it would be this:
Tumblr media
i’m gonna stop spoiling murderboys now FJEJFJSKWHDJD KUZA IS GONNA YELL AT ME but yeah i love me some bastard feral dib

"Do you have a crush on someone?"Truthfully? I'm not sure. This is actually a tough question for me to answer. More so since I discovered last week I'm not entirely over the guy I was seeing for the first chunk of this year. But there are certainly people in my life I'm attracted to. I mean, take Kuza for example, been real obvious for a real long time that I'd be super down for that man. But am I staying awake pining for his affection? No. Granted that's largely to do with the fact we live roughly 9 hours away from each other hahah However I think I made my pointtl;dr Idk man

Kuza isn't dating anyone. He has told people cause he is sick of being asked. He has said on his blog that he is done with love and doesn't want to be heartbroken anymore. He had been single for around 9 years
Welp, now I feel bad for Kuza, but at least that clears up any questions anyone might have!

Syn gasped, panting as she wrapped her legs around his hips. Her thoughts went to Kuza for a brief moment...she remembered back to the time that he asked William if she was a sex slave, if he could have her...god, if he came around, Syn knew she'd been stinking of sex and it would only raise more questions.
Syn kissed him back, her lips soft against his. She rolled her hips doen, the smell of her wetness flooding the room.
The woman nodded and held up a small sketch she had done of a blue jay that had hung around the house frequently. She smiled, proud of her work, and hoping that he was too. “I did, thank you, sir.” Syn said adamantly. “Do you like it?”
