🤍: Which character is not as morally bad as everyone else seems to think?
Okay this is a tough one because I could say Dark Ace with all the bias I am known for, but bro is canonically almost as bad as Ravess and Snipe when it comes to abusing NPC Talons. At least one Talon has been yeeted off their ride by him, I think it was in Gale Force Winds.
I had to talk this one over with the squad to realise Captain Scabulous is right there. As far as I rememer he never mistreats his crewmates, and based on Ultra Dudes he actually does a lot to stick up for those in his inner circle, even riding to some nowhere desert Terra because one of his buddies got shot at by a random blond kid.
Then there's also the fact that his and his crew's whole motivation in Calling All Domos was that they wanted to remodel their kitchen and get better eating utensils. Call him a marauding, merciless raider all you want but at least he canonically gives a shit about his people lol

Somehow I'm getting Snipe vibes from this. He is both the guy being broken up with and the guy asking about the Minecraft server.
i love student housing. i’m in the common room waiting for a friend and there’s some dude crying on the couch w a bunch of his friends around him and i can only hear bits and pieces but someone asked him “who gets the minecraft server if you guys break up?” and he started crying harder and a 3rd person reached over to smack the guy who asked it on the back of the head

💀 If you had to choose one major character to die, who would you choose?
I feel so, so terrible for this, and it shouldn't be taken as me disliking him but I am a sucker for absolute tragedy.
I'd kill off Finn. Actually kill him off. Probably during a climactic fight against a secondary major threat on the Far Side midway through the campaign against the primary threat.
Aerrow sacrificing himself as a last ditch effort to save Atmos? Too easy. Same with Piper. There'd be grief but the team would likely find the strength to move on for their sakes and look towards a brighter future that their sacrifices helped bring into reality.
Finn?
That would destroy the Hawks to the point of no return if you asked me. He's the light of the team and call me a sadist but
I want to see darkness. Total darkness.
Aerrow, Radarr and Piper would be absolute wrecks. Finn to me is someone who helps balance out the traits they have that, while not necessarily bad traits, can be detrimental if left unchecked (Aerrow's self-sacrificing hero complex and Piper's neuroses and obsession with details).
Junko is distraught. That was his best friend, they were a dynamic duo and there's nobody else in the team that he shares that exact bond with. What's he meant to do now?
Stork would have the easiest time holding himself together, but he was still close with Finn if Calling all Domos was any indication. Now there's an empty space in the Condor that feels like it can't be filled.
Finn's position on the team from a utility perspective is also one that I don't think can be filled nearly as easily as the others. Being a sharpshooter, especially one of his caliber, is a skill we only see in Ravess. Losing him would hobble the team and force them to change tactics and there could be a whole arc dedicated to that adjustment.
I could go on, but the bottom line is that while removing any member of the team would lead to an interesting shift in the story, I think Finn would lead to the most potential. And that makes him a really good character in my opinion. Because his absence would likely be felt more than anybody else's.
There's still a handful of these that I haven't done, so feel free to yeet the last few at me.

Favorite contentmaker in the Storm Hawks fandom? (Headcanons, theories, memes, etc.)
My three friends @/ya-boi-aerrow, @/ashe-alter and @/happypanda101 who I mentioned in the favourite artists post all have absolutely brilliant headcanons for Storm Hawks, but I think they're a bit too obvious for this XD
I hope they don't mind me mentioning them but @tuffdwightwest has shared some absolutely stunning lore with the discord server and I admit it can get a bit overwhelming with just how Much of it they have. 10/10, highly recommend, though they mostly post it all to Discord as far as I've seen.
I mentioned in the artist post that @rin-henricov has some fun ideas with Radarr and Stork, but I'd also like to recommend their other headcanon posts for general merbology and some of the darker paths that Storm Hawks lore can go down. I am, sadly, an awkward goober when it comes to interacting with people on Tumblr though, so I haven't left as many comments as I would like.
@brainrotgoverner has been an absolute saint with the gif posts and memes, and I'd also recommend you read their Hawkstober fics over on AO3 because they did a great job on them.
@stormseclipse, who I can't believe I forgot to include in the artists post, has some really interesting headcanons about the nightcrawlers that I think deserve more appreciation though I can't remember if they posted them to Tumblr or just discord, whoops.
Everyone in this fandom is genuinely so creative, and if I could list out and tag every single person without this post taking up several screens then I would XD Y'all are amazing.

Last one of the Buridan's Storm Hawks, it's Spork!
Stork's thoughts were rather interesting to figure out. Because Age of Heroes went so differently, there wasn't a climactic first fight with the Cyclonian Commanders so all Stork really has to go off at the moment is their reputation and the things he's seen from afar.

23. 💬 - What’s your favourite quote?
Your sworn protector turns against you, and Atmos sends children instead of Sky Knights? Pathetic!
This line from Dark Ace in Age of Heroes. It struck a chord in me when I rewatched the show for the first time in 2020, and it soon became the groundwork of a good majority of my lore and headcanons. Maybe I'm looking too far into it, but the way it was delivered made it feel very, very personal, as if Dark Ace couldn't believe that history was repeating itself in a way.
Storms made us. Storms tore us apart. And now storms will help us rebuild.
And have this Cyclonis quote as a bonus second place, because this one also inspired a lot of lore, including a creation myth for Atmos.

Top 5 Storm Hawks characters? (BUT you cant use Dark Ace XD)
Damn, you got me XD Aight, let's see what we've got.
I had this sitting in my drafts for a hot minute, and if I shared any more of my thoughts then this post would be ridiculously long, so enjoy the short versions.
Dark Ace will always be number one though.
Arygyn/Ayrgyn the Skeelur

Look at him. How could I not? XD He's a walking pride parade and such a fun character for me to work with. He's one of the primary victims of the angst stick.
Fun fact: When I first got back into the show I despised this clownbird because he was the one who pulled the last-minute prophecy plot out of his feathered arse. I got stupidly angry about that prophecy.
2. Aerrow (plus Radarr if you're going for the package deal)
I found this particular image of him in the discord server's refs channel funny whoops
He's got your typical 2000s protagonist energy, but he's got his sweet goofball moments that are really endearing to me. He's also a complete dork, just watch his attempted speech in Age of Heroes. He has no idea what he's doing and I love him for it.
Ignore the angst.
3. Master Cyclonis
She's a delightful little shit. The sass, the fashion, the lack of impulse control and morals. It's very fun to write her in Buridan's Storm.
4. Hmmmm... Harrier
He is wonderful angst fodder. Everybody in the Discord knows what I did at this point.
5. Lastly, Imma pick Lightning Strike. Or at least my fanon version of him.

This guy got a lot of work done lol. I turned him into a 'history repeats' narrative and a parallel to Aerrow. Two child soldiers, two generations of the same family being thrown into the same cycle of war and violence as those who came before. Both doomed by this awful 'prophecy' that they're only told about at the last minute.
I think it's poetic.

💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?
Dark Ace is more competent than people give him credit for, even in canon, and the only reason Aerrow isn't a red stain on the side of the Condor is plot armour!
Call me dramatic but I have a seething dislike for the "haha lol he got his ass beat by a child over and over" jokes because that is not true.
Age of Heroes 1 - Dark Ace beat Aerrow's ass within minutes and only left him alive because he was a child
Age of Heroes 2 - Aerrow caught Ace off-guard with his move in a "No, it cannot be!" moment as (presumably) Dark Ace recognised Aerrow as family to Lightning Strike. The kid got a lucky shot
Gale Force Winds - Aerrow only managed to 'outfly' Dark Ace by shoving a literal wrench into the works of his sky-ride. One can argue Aerrow cheated, but bottom line is that Aerrow didn't actually beat Dark Ace in actual combat. If he hadn't been lucky enough to get his hands on that wrench, he'd probably be dead
Velocity - Aerrow wasn't even involved in Dark ace's defeat. Ace was air-blasted out of the sky by that monster contraption the other Sky Knights built
The Code - A phoenix intervened. Who is going to fight a phoenix? He also beat up the whole Rex Guardians team in that episode
A Little Trouble - Snipe's bastard warship fell apart before Ace and Aerrow could finish the fight. Ace left the kids to get crushed under that ship. If the show wasn't a kids' cartoon, the Hawks plus a toddler would've been mashed into paste
Energy Crisis - This might be the only fight that Aerrow managed to win out of genuine wit, and it was largely because Dark Ace was zooted out of his gourd with the Medulla Crystal and completely off his rocker
The Lesson - Probably the only victory Aerrow had that was actually earned. He had to actually train for this one.
Power Grab - Aerrow wasn't even in this one, Dark Ace got smote by a giant crystal monster
The Key - Aerrow barely wins this one through the power of deus ex machina and only manages it with Piper's help and the Binding.
Cyclonia Rising - Another deus ex machina, and Cyclonis being an arrogant little shit (affectionate) with Dark Ace probably did not help. He was going to kill them until Piper and the writers pulled "perfect attunement" out of their rear ends.
Most of Aerrow's "wins" are due to luck or the most painfully obvious plot armour I've ever seen. He has two, maybe three wins at a push that actually feel earned, and the rest of those fights are either ties or Dark Ace is beat by something or someone other than Aerrow.
Dark Ace has over a decade of flight and combat experience over Aerrow, it's stated by Piper in episode one that he's "never lost a sky duel", and his "If you win, you live, and I never lose" line in that same episode implies that he usually kills his opponents. Reading between the lines, countless sky knights have died at this man's hands.
Aerrow should've died in that first fight, but if that had happened then we wouldn't have a show, would we? And in the Code, Harrier would've gone splat in the Rex arena if Aerrow hadn't caught him when Dark Ace cut the man's parachute strings.
You want my opinion? Dark Ace was going easy on Aerrow. Maybe he didn't want the death of a child on his conscience, maybe he cared about Aerrow in ways we never got to know because the show had the lore density of an empty wrapping paper tube and Origins was a disappointment of a backstory episode. But if the show had been a little more serious about its plots, Dark Ace would've had far more visible victories and Aerrow would've died at least seven times over because of him alone.
This is not to say that I don't like Aerrow as a character, I love that little shit and that's a threat. But if you told me that the show was solely how Aerrow viewed those events and that Dark Ace won far more often in between episodes, then I'd believe you. Hell, that's genuinely my headcanon in regards to this. The show is Aerrow's retelling of his time as a Storm Hawk, he's telling it with his own personal biases and cutting out all the times he and his friends struggled or even failed.
I think it's more interesting to have characters who are capable of failure rather than characters who win all the time for convoluted reasons. Forcing them to come to terms with the losses and actually overcome that adversity is my favourite part of reinterpreting the show and writing fics about it.
Enjoy the apparent hot take, at the very least I got a little heated there XD

I started sharing this project in the Storm Hawks discord server I help run and figured I'd do the same here. It's slow going but I'm making a Storm Hawks-inspired Dungeons and Dragons campaign!
Set centuries before the show, I'm starting with a simple oneshot that will hopefully expand into a bigger story that runs parallel to my ideas for the founding of the Sky Knight Order. Join the fight to liberate Atmos from darkness or become the darkness yourself and take over the skies in the age before sky-rides took prominence and when dragons still roamed.
Still in the first draft stages with jokes for notes, but I'm really looking forward to getting this finished. Maybe I'll actually get to run it one day XD

Gremlin time with Fearrow AU Radarr! This one was very entertaining to work on, the bean is pure chaos in this timeline.
A lot of his feelings on the Storm Hawks right now are influenced by Aerrow, who in turn was indirectly influenced by Dark Ace. It's interesting to see how the opinions and values trickle down into one another.

📂 Radarr's biological specie
Send “📂“ for a random yet completely useless headcanon I have
Radarr's species is known as sky lemurs, and they're spread out quite thin across Atmos. They're a sentient species but very secretive, which is why not a lot of people recognise Radarr for what he is.
You can usually tell which Terra a skylemur comes from based on their fur colours. Green fur is characteristic of Terra Tropica lemurs, there's a community of them in the black gorge with dark coats and the occasional glowing markings, and Radarr, a blue sky lemur, hails from a Terra known as Lotus that listed far outside the known atmos. He was kidnapped by poachers and brought to the charted Atmos where he eventually met Aerrow and decided to stick around with him.
The flying critter that the Colonel keeps as a pet and calls Fluffykins is also a subspecies of sky lemur. Fluffykins' real name in the lemur language translates to "Bringer of Misfortune".

Cool bird fact!
every single day I think about how american black vultures are known for engaging in allopreening (preening between different species)
and they have a specific relationship with crested caracaras, in which the black vultures assist them by not only preening them after meals but also leading them to food in the first place— due to their superior sense of smell— while the caracaras assist the black vultures by acting as a warning signal in case of danger
and while this is more typical of black vultures, this is not common at all for any member of the falconidae family— it’s a special bond!

yet another post in favor of vultures everyone , hope you enjoy:) and I implore you to do some more research on these incredible birds !!

Second set of prompts for the rarepair challenge!
Week Two
Catching Feelings - Self-explanatory. Is someone oblivious to their own feelings, is there an "Oh... oh" moment? Or are they hyper aware of a crush forming?
Differences - What it says on the tin. If they had a venn diagram of traits, what doesn't overlap?
In Battle - Are they allies or enemies? Are we getting friends on the battlefield falling in love, or enemies to lovers? Go nuts.

Kayaknya banyak waktu luangnya nih, nulis tumblr mulu, muraja'ah jangan lupa yak
Banyak waktu luangnya?
Kalo kamu scroll bawah di tumblr-ku, pasti bakal nemu tulisan “Aku tidak ingin jadi penulis jika tulisanku lebih digemari daripada Al-Qur'an”As you know, aku gak akan nulis, sebelum menjamaah Al-Qur'an terlebih dahulu. Apalagi, hafalanku masih belum bisa kukuasai diluar kepala. Nulis di tumblr itu .. Isn’t my priority. Memang seakan aku nulis setiap saat, tapi kenyataannya gak gitu ya non. Makasih loh udah ngingetin buat murojaah. Semoga anon juga semangat buka qur'annya disamping buka tumblr-ku. Hehe
Bukankah Allah mengatakan “Walaqod yassarna-l-qur'aana lizzikri fa hal min muddakir?”
“Dan sungguh, telah kami mudahkan Al Qur'an untuk peringatan, maka adakah orang yang mau mengambil pelajaran?”
Waktu luang kita sangat berharga, yakan? Dan aku sadar, hal itu akan menjadi lebih berguna, sangat barakah jika kita berikan kepada Al-Quran. Oke, in shaa Allah ya. Kita semua bisa membagi waktu dengan baik. Ingatkan aku lagi, jangan sungkan. :)
