Poorni! Can I ramble to you about how much I love Leia Forman?! I can? Thanks ;) Like she's so messy---overly dramatic and reactive, moody, jumps to the worst conclusions, neurotic, miles away from ever being "cool," cringe-inducingly awkward, she overanalyzes and is overly sensitive, she's indecisive yet also too impulsive with a rebellious streak etc. But she's also kind and smart and sensitive and romantic and generous. She's got this combination of strengths and flaws that just makes her so supremely relatable! As wrong as she can be, she always cares and always tries. She's me as a teen. Come to think of it, she's me as an adult! And as imperfect as The 90s Show might be (though I kind of love it anyway), the writers did a stellar job of coming up with a character who really does seem like she could be the perfectly imperfect mix of Donna and (especially!) Eric. I'll be listening to your Jeia playlist while attempting to write fic this weekend :) Thanks for listening---I had to send this pro-Leia post to the one person who I know loves her and jeia too!

NYC #RWRBMOVIE FAN SCREENING SPOILER-FREE RECAP!

I have no idea how to sum up one of the most amazing nights I’ve had in NYC in a single post. What an outright JOY it was to see this movie in the company of fellow fans, Casey McQuiston, and Matthew López. My plus-one was the kind and talented DJ who oversaw the marketing of RED WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE when it was going through its first paperback publication and we spent the night pinching ourselves at this incredible full circle moment.

Now. About the movie. You will not see me dropping spoilers here, but let it suffice to say I laughed, I screamed, I cheered, and most of all, I LOVED this movie. It is a true love letter to the source material and to the fandom, and every modification made to adapt it to screen made sense and added to my enjoyment. I cannot WAIT until the world gets to see it. All the flowers to Casey, Matthew, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Nicholas Galitzine, Rachel Bilson, Aneesh Sheth, Ellie Bamber, Sarah Shahi, Uma Thurman, Stephen Fry, and every cast and crew member whose labor made it a masterpiece.
