Hey all!
Just letting you know that I have made some changes to the playlist RAFFLES TV series 1975-77 (Complete) on my YouTube channel. @firestorm717 was kind enough to give me permission to upload her lovely rips (which are the ones I use for all my edits and which you can still download), so those are the ones that you can now see in that playlist, with thumbnails edited by myself. Chippas uploads I have moved to a new playlist called RAFFLES TV series 1975-77 WITH SUBTITLES (Complete).
Tumblr media
Otherwise, the main differences between the two playlists are:
Old playlist (firestorm's rips from US DVD release):
Includes the act cards in between acts.
Includes the scenes at the ball in "Mr Justice Raffles".
Slightly better transfer.
New playlist (Chippa's rips from UK DVD release):
Option for (accurate) closed captions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Happy watching! 💎
P.S: You can watch some of my edited clips in the playlist RAFFLES Clips.

Why did nobody tell me that Jeremy Clyde who plays Alec Carruthers in the Raffles TV show also voices Raffles himself in the BBC radio adaptation?!

20 questions for fic writers 2023
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
207
2. What’s your total A03 word count?
1.2 million (!!!)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
BBC Sherlock (Sherlock TV, ACD), Doctor Who/Torchwood, Black Sails/Treasure Island, Maurice (film/novel), Raffles/Raffles TV, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, Dexter, The Sandman (comics), Versailles, The Untamed, MST3K
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
The Imposter Art and Nature Boyfriend Material Eight and Fifty Nights Wind and Winter
No surprise three of those are from the same series (my most popular one). I kind of feel like The Imposter is my fandom legacy, which is fine by me; I'm proud of it.
Tumblr media
(they're all beauties, in my eyes)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I started out responding to every one. I barely do anymore, only because when I was writing long, chaptered fics, it became overwhelming. Lately I get many fewer, so I do respond to some. I tend to reply to comments on non-Sherlock fics more now, because the fandoms are smaller and I like to gas us up a little!
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Am and Was, the final story in my fight!lock series Bleed So Pretty, ends with a double suicide.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably All Said and Done, the happy ending for the 1920s stately home series, Dawn Before the Rest of the World. But a lot of my fics have happy endings, even most of the angsty ones.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have! Very early on someone got very angry that AUs even exist, and took it out on one of my stories (maybe it was the first AU she ever read???); she mostly complained that I was writing Them out of character, which is probably true to some extent, but everyone has their own tolerance levels for that kind of stuff, so, whatever. Someone got very angry that one of my missing-scene fics based on a novel included verbatim text at the beginning and end (context being necessary to the bit I wrote in the middle), even though I made that VERY CLEAR in the beginning notes; she was not satisfied and felt I was a plagiarist, which to me is not a concept that even applies to transformative works, so again, whatever.
I don't mind any comment except ones that boil down to "I don't like this," because there's nothing I can do about that. I can fix spellings and punctuation, sew up plot holes, and make other minor adjustments to the technical stuff. But if someone just comments that they don't like the story, I'm helpless.
9. Do you write smut?
Very much so! I have written entire long novels just as set dressing for smut.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Several! I decided as soon as Sherlock came out on BBC that it takes place in the very same universe (London, present day) as Doctor Who/Torchwood (so, aliens exist). So I crossed those over a bunch. Doctor Who/Torchwood also got crossed over with Dexter, and with The Sandman comics. ACD!Holmes crossed over with Raffles, based on a screenplay of a film featured on MST3K. Black Sails is already Treasure Island pastiche, so that counts though I'm not responsible for it.
Tumblr media
(this legendary bitch was only a bitch from a legend in Treasure Island)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I was a victim of netscraping of the AO3 by various pay-to-read schemes, twice. But to my knowledge, no one person has like, copy/pasted my fic and put their name on it as the author.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
A couple in Russian, a couple in Chinese.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Twice. It's not really my jam.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Johnlock.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
A final story in my Road to Home series, a fix-it fic where Donna gets her memory back (which I began writing in 2013 or 2014). Now that she's got it back in canon, it seems even less likely I'll ever finish it.
Tumblr media
(Russell T Davies accepted it maybe a little TOO hard)
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Right now, discipline (mine, not in my BDSM AU characters')
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've done it, probably not 100% correctly or well, but I try really hard (not just google translate! I consult native speakers!) to get it right. Generally I recommend keeping it to a minimum unless you learn the trick where AO3 lets you hover a cursor over text and you can put the translation in the pop-up. Too few people are multilingual.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I wrote self-insert Duran Duran bandom fic starting when I was 12, in 1984. My first fic on the AO3 was a Sherlock fic.
Tumblr media
(my first husband, John Taylor)
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Don't make me choose! I can't choose a favourite child. Today I was writing on One-Man Advantage, so that's a fave because of recency bias, but I was also thinking about Stages, so that's a fave because when I think of it my heart aches. The Re/Formation of Billy Bones is a fave because I love the backstory I created for him and I think I wrote it well. At Depth is a tiny hidden gem. I love all the Christmas ones and all the snowed-in ones. I love the kinky ones and the fluffy ones and the ones with OCs. I love some I've forgotten about. I love'm all.
Thanks for tagging me, @onesmallfamily !

Details about the Amazing Digital Circus pop-up shop in Japan (and the exclusive premiere of episode 2 associated with it)
This post's title kind of sums up the basics, but here's some background: in early March of this year, a Japanese company called InfoLens entered a licensing agreement with Glitch Productions to sell products based on The Amazing Digital Circus. The same press release also announced that they would open a pop-up store in Tokyo, which would operate from April 26th to May 12th. (If I'm not mistaken, InfoLens seems to specialize in these sorts of agreements - they've made similar deals and pop-up shops for everything from Apex Legends to Garten of Banban.) Around this time, they also started up an official Japanese Twitter account devoted to the series.
Close to a month later, they would announce more details about the shop, including what goods they would sell (a mixture of existing merchandise from Glitch's online store and newly-made ones) and plans for a second location in Osaka (running June 7-23). This also coincided with the first time Glitch Productions' main Twitter account publicly acknowledged any of this (as far as I know).
Not long after this came another announcement: they would be holding a raffle where the winners would attend the world premiere of the series' second episode on April 25th, the day before the Tokyo store opened to the public.
So how'd all this pan out? I'll elaborate below the jump, but here's a picture to set the scene:
Tumblr media
(Source: Reika Ō, Japanese VA for Gangle and Zooble)
To start with, the Pop-Up Store itself has a number of things aside from merchandise - like the life-size Pomni statue seen above. (The design was the work of Zachary Preciado - it bears a resemblance to her AniMatez figure.)
There's also a corner decorated to look like Kaufmo's room, with a Ragatha (and, at least sometimes, Jax) cutout & oversized die (for sitting on). I believe it's meant to be used for photographs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Sources, from left to right: IshiiNaki and the official Japanese Amazing Digital Circus Twitter account)
Other decorations include curtains, TVs displaying promotional clips (seemingly just existing ones on Glitch's YouTube channel), a floating inflatable replica of Bubble, an equally inflatable kiddie pool holding a whole bunch of plushies for sale, and some giant pseudo-toy blocks. The following pictures collectively show all of these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Sources, from left to right: Soichiro Sugawara - Japanese VA of Caine & Jax - Shiori Honma - Japanese VA of Ragatha - and Columbo-san Games)
Also, while I'm not currently aware of any recordings of this, according to Arran (Pomni's Japanese VA), the store plays specially-recorded audio of Pomni and Caine. She also mentions "treasured materials" (秘蔵資料) as another point of interest, which segues into my next topic:
Tumblr media
(Sources, from top to bottom: Reika Ō, Columbo-san Games again, Glitch Productions, and Shiori Honma)
Several photographs have a glass display in the background. Thus far, I haven't seen any closer pictures of it - given that there appears to be a "no photography/video recording" placard nearby, that'd explain why. The actual contents aren't especially clear - there's a picture of the main cast doing their bind poses at the back of the case, but the sheets of paper(?) underneath look like they could be concept art or something similar. I'm not sure. Hopefully this gets released later down the line.
With all that said, what about the advance screening? Well, as seen in Glitch's photos of the event, Kevin and Luke made a surprise appearance in person to talk about the series. While the attendees have been told not to reveal anything about the new episode until its wider release on May 3rd, one of them took notes on the experience as a personal reminder and revealed some interesting tidbits in the process. I'm not the best at Japanese, but here's my rough, sometimes rather loose translation of what they wrote:
★ The episode, as well as the announcements before and after it, were dubbed in Japanese. Furthermore, the announcement before the screening was recorded specifically for the occasion. Pretty wild.¹ ∙ Before the show: Caine + Pomni ∙ After the show: Jax ("Good to know it was just a dream"² - this elicited shrieks in the venue) ★ Before the main event began, they played the existing promo videos on a loop in both English & Japanese. ★ I expected the audience to be overwhelmingly female, but in reality there were quite a lot of men in attendance, too. ★ Kevin (the CEO) and Luke frequently said things in Japanese, like "arigatō (thank you)" and "surimasen (excuse me)." The one that made me laugh the most was Kevin saying "…Sō desu ne (Yes, indeed)… (thoughtful)" ★ The reason they held the screening in Japan was twofold: they wanted to help spread Western animation to the country & they simply love Japan. ★ Episode 2 really is good, but my brain hasn't fully processed it right now, so it's better not to get your hopes too high.³ 🥲✨✊
¹ Originally "やば" (yaba), which appears to be a variant of "やばい" (yabai). This word can mean many different things - literally "terrible" or "very bad," but also used as slang for "great" or "far-out" - and I felt that "wild" was a reasonably apt choice for this context. ² Another attendee's comments on Twitter reference this quote as well. ³ To be absolutely clear: this appears to be a warning against unreasonably high expectations (since the OP hadn't quite digested the episode at the time of writing), not discouraging getting hyped to any degree.
Another attendee had a shorter account of the experience, summed up in two tweets. (Again, please forgive me if there are any errors in these translations!)
I was chosen and went to the advance screening…! I definitely didn't expect there to be specially-recorded voice work and art (to remind people of their manners) before the show… Especially Jax's closing remarks: "'You all can leave through the exit. Ah, [but] that's none of my business." It was way too crazy, hearing the voices of the agonized nerds in the venue. It was great lol Two producers made a surprise trip to Japan and took part in a Q&A session. They said that Popee the Performer was one of the show's influences!
(It's worth noting that Gooseworx herself has mentioned Popee as an influence in the past before, specifically saying Jax and Gangle were respectively inspired by Popee and Kedamono - though, in both cases, she also mentioned that there was more to her characters than just resembling the latter two.)
To finish this post off, here's a couple more images (both posted on Twitter by Shiori Honma) I wanted to share:
Tumblr media
Honma posts with her character's standee.
Tumblr media
All five of the Japanese dub's primary voice actors, together with Pomni. (If I'm not mistaken, the tweet's text says none of them knew in advance that the screening of episode 2 would be in Japanese.)

Am I allowed to ask a longer question? (Take your time to answer. You're probably busy, aren't you?) You recently reblogged that post about Raffles not-being Edwardian. Why do you think that is important?
Of course! And as you see, I did take a good bit of time to answer - thank you for your patience. I have been very busy lately, but actually for mostly Raffles related reasons for once!
I do think that is very important if you want to get to the core of these stories, which is why it irks me whenever people toss the word "Edwardian" in there, and I believe that Hornung was very aware of the importance of it when he wrote them. To get to that core, we need to look at a theme that is very prominent in the Raffles stories: aestheticism.
Aestheticism was a movement that grew throughout the 1800s and reached its peak in Britain in the later part of the 1800s. The general idea was to separate art from morality and ethics; that art should be created for beauty and not for teaching morals - "art for art's sake". The movement took shape in most art forms and a had mainstream success in for example home decorating and furniture, but at the same time did not sit well with traditional Victorians, to whom art was very much entangled with morality. By the 1880s, the "aesthete" had become a character familiar enough to be parodied, such as illustrator George du Maurier did for Punch magazine in a number of illustrations during this time period.
Tumblr media
One of the most important aesthetes in the 1880s and '90s was of course Oscar Wilde. With his writings, his speeches, the way he dressed and the way he lived his life in London society — including his "deviant" sexual life — he was pretty much the embodiment of the aesthetic movement (as well as of the decadent movement, which by the 1890s had become nearly synonymous with it). With the scandal of his conviction and imprisonment, the movement became more dangerous to be associated with, and more or less died out at the end of the century.
--Spoilers for the Raffles books in discussion below--
Now, Hornung very clearly paints Raffles as an aesthete. That is not something you might manage to painstakingly dig out through hours of deep analysis of the text - he very plainly lays it out in the first part of the very first story. While Raffles is pacing the floor contemplating how to solve Bunny's situation, Bunny is observing the state of Raffles' rooms and gives the reader a clear idea of his character:
"It was charmingly furnished and arranged, with the right amount of negligence and the right amount of taste. What struck me most, however, was the absence of the usual insignia of a cricketer’s den. Instead of the conventional rack of war-worn bats, a carved oak bookcase, with every shelf in a litter, filled the better part of one wall; and where I looked for cricketing groups, I found reproductions of such works as “Love and Death” and “The Blessed Damozel,” in dusty frames and different parallels. The man might have been a minor poet instead of an athlete of the first water. But there had always been a fine streak of aestheticism in his complex composition." ("The Ides of March", 1898)
Here Hornung uses the word "aestheticism", referring specifically to the art movement. In the next story, he has Raffles associate himself with it again:
"Does the writer only write when the wolf is at the door? Does the painter paint for bread alone? Must you and I be driven to crime like Tom of Bow and Dick of Whitechapel? You pain me, my dear chap; you needn’t laugh, because you do. Art for art’s sake is a vile catchword, but I confess it appeals to me." ("A Costume Piece", 1898)
Raffles is an artist, first and foremost. His cricketing is a cover: the amateur cricket player is the ultimate English gentleman, and so he cannot possibly be anything else! He is not driven to a life of crime because of poverty, or because of some tragic back story. "Cracking cribs" is his form of art, and it is "l'art pour l'art" all the way.
"Why should I work when I could steal? Why settle down to some humdrum uncongenial billet, when excitement, romance, danger and a decent living were all going begging together?" ("The Ides of March", 1898)
In other words: he very well could make a living in some other, conventional way, but that would not be exciting and romantic enough. Furthermore, it would not be in line with his character. In "A Costume Piece" he attempts to steal the purple diamonds not because, as Bunny puts it, there is any "necessity" for it, but because it is so tangled up with what he is that he simply cannot pass up the opportunity: "If I don’t have a try for them—after tonight—I shall never be able to hold up my head again."
Additionally, Hornung makes some rather striking parallels between Raffles' life and the life of Oscar Wilde. It is assumed but not confirmed that Wilde was a friend of Hornung; at least they moved in the same circles. In either case, there is no way to ignore the parallels Hornung drew. There are of course the similarities in appearance and character: clean shaven features, longish hair, charisma, a great talker, appreciation for beautiful things. (Add to this the young, fair-haired and also clean shaven writer companion with a temper and a cricket themed nickname). But then we have the facts (which I have laid out before) of Raffles and Bunny and Wilde all being arrested and facing their downfall in the spring of 1895; of Bunny going to prison and when he comes out, writes a series of articles on prison life, just like Wilde did; of Raffles taking the name of "Mr Maturin" when he comes back to London, while Wilde took the alias of "Melmoth" when he went into exile (author Charles Maturin was Wilde's great uncle, who wrote the gothic novel Melmoth the Wanderer - if any of the other points are negotiable, at least that last one would be purely ignorant to brush off as a coincidence). Hornung knew what he was doing, and he did it subtly but clearly. I for one often wonder if when Conan Doyle said the stories were "dangerous in their suggestion", he wasn't talking less about burgling and more about these themes they were so entwined with; because at the point of the first publication of Raffles, the aesthetic movement was rather dangerous to be associated with. The references to Wilde could on their own perhaps be seen as a mere tribute to a (possible) friend, but in the context of their time and in how Raffles is portrayed as a character, they become more significant.
Wilde is released from prison in 1897 (again, same year Bunny is released from prison and Raffles returns to London), and lives in exile for a few years before dying in Paris in 1900. Raffles and Bunny live in Ham Common before joining the Boer war; Raffles dies on the battlefield in 1900. Around the same time, aestheticism as a movement dies out as well. The fin-de-siècle era is over, and the Victorian era comes to an end with the death of the queen in early 1901.
I do not think it was a coincidence that Hornung had Raffles die along with the essence of the world he was a product of. Therefore, tossing the word "Edwardian" in there as a descriptor of the series seems to me to be careless and completely missing the point. Bunny lives on in the Edwardian era, but aside from a few very brief glimpses of his life there, the life he lead with Raffles was solely in the fin-de-siècle.
The TV series is also often described as Edwardian, but this is also not correct. The 14 episodes makes a point of staying in the Victorian era, whether or not this was considered important in the way I have described above. I don't know if one or another Edwardian trinket has snuck in there, but it is definitely still the 1800s by the final episode: in "An Old Flame" Raffles complains about wanting to "stay in the privacy of the 19th century for as long as possible", to which Bunny retorts "You haven't got long left". Philip Mackie's unpublished script for "Le Premier Pas" for the second series that was never produced actually takes place on Christmas 1899, "the last Christmas of the old century", confirming that the first series definitely was meant to be all Victorian. (The new series probably would have gone into the 1900s, but where it would have ended is anyone's guess, and is rather irrelevant since it was never actually made.) Just to what extent this was considered significant for the overall story and tone of the TV series, I cannot say (though I am actually doing some research on just that currently), but the point is that the TV series also is, in fact, Victorian and not Edwardian. Some other adaptations have of course broken the Victorian rule, but that is a whole other discussion.
In short: if you want to be true to Hornung's Raffles, the late Victorian era is rather a key element.
For anyone who wants to read more about Raffles and aestheticism (and can get access), I can highly recommend an academic article I have read recently by D. Michael Jones, called “E. W. Hornung’s Raffles and the English Aesthetic Movement: The Rhetoric of Romance Masculinity” (2016). I especially thought his take on the dynamic between Raffles and Bunny was really interesting. Also he kinda made me cry cause some of the things he said about Raffles was so spot on. Another relevant one is “Wilde Words: The Aesthetics of Crime and the Play of Genre in E. W. Hornung’s Raffles Stories” by Lee O'Brien (2015).

Nobody Here But Us Chickens
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/HiRL7IF by ImYourHoneyBee Dean has been trying out endearments inside his head for years. He can’t help it. Some sentences feel wrong on his tongue without one, the unsaid words jumping over themselves to leap out of his mouth like living things. It took him a long time to label it love, but what else could the urge be when Cas makes him feel so much? When Cas is hurt, Dean's gruff, “You good?” needs a comma and a ‘sweetheart’ at the end. Calling out in a dank, dusty storage room for a hand with hauling boxes or needing a clarifying eye on an obscure, potentially magical trinket wants to start with a questioning, “Hey, honey?” He can almost taste it, dripping off his tongue sweet and wanting, casual in its intimacy. Sometimes, Dean slips up. “Good morning, sunshine,” while passing Cas a doctored-up cup of coffee in his favourite mug has become a morning ritual. It’s innocuous enough to get away with if he doesn’t think about it too hard. Sometimes, he tries his best to make it sarcastic, but it inevitably comes out too sincere. Cas hasn't caught on yet, though, and Sam has stopped shooting him questioning side-eyes, so Dean's pretty sure he's pulling it off. The problem is that it’s not enough. Tumblr media
Did everyone save up their postcards? Because it's time for the Lucky Garchomp Raffle! Opening up on television as well as all available streaming services! Coming to you live as a guest for the festival....
"Ladies and gentlemen and Iono Zone faithful! 'Ello,'ello, hola. Ciao and bonjour! Your eyeballs are mine, caught in my electroweb! Whosawhatsits? It's Iono!"
The colorful hostess of the Iono Zone stream series was on screen, giving everyone her sharp smile and cheerful attitude. Next to her was a giant wheel with a variety of numers. Her hand idly played with it, just itching to spin it round and round...
"I'll be your host for this year's Lucky Raffle, the theme...GARCHOMP! RAWR RAWR! I'm doing a sweet collab with Jubilife TV! Heeeeey, Sinnoh! WHAT'S UP?!"
Grinning, she gestured to a different side of the room where the main prizes today were lined up. Three nice prizes for the people who received those special postcards found only during new years.
"There are 3 prizes, one per lucky person. First places gets this lovely Garchompite, courtesy of Lysander Labs! Second place gets a life sized Garchomp plushie, produced by the Safari Zone and third place is a set of 10 Hyper Potions, brought to you in conjunction by PokeMart and the Sinnoh League!"
Nodding to herself, having done her job spelling out the prizes and their names, she was excited to get started.
"And here we go!" Stepping forward, Iono grabbed the wheel and gave it a biiiig spin!
"With a big ol' spin, here comes the first winner......lucky number 007! Congrats on your shiny new Garchompite!"
"Next up, here we go -- just gonna grab here and give it the biggest whiiiiirl-whooooo! And our next winner is...number 001! You get to walk away with a nice HUUUGE Garchomp plush! Look at this thing! It's bigger than me!"
"Last, but not least...our third and final lucky raffle winner...spin, spin, spin....! And we have 010! You get the Hyper Potion set -- bet these will come in handy!"
With the last number picked and the last prize carted off to be sent to their intended owner via Dleibird Service, it was a wrap. Iono closed off with well wishes for the New Year in her usual, bubbly way.

✨ Top Five Treys ✨
#1: South Park: 25th Anniversary Concert (2022)
(Series with @a-magical-evening 💖)
First, I loved this concert so damn much I had too many GIFS to include in one set so here’s the bonus: 💖💖
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The concert is too long to rewatch completely, and I do have a lot of emotion connected to it, so this might get pretty rambling/stream of consciousness. I’ll preface that this is gonna be personal lol like an actual blog post
(Preface #2: I’m mostly going to comment on Trey (as with all the others in this series), since I’m a Trey bitch through and through, but Matt was a fucking superstar, and I was blown away by his performances!! He looked amazing and I was so fucking impressed by him 😊 I’m not purposefully leaving him out in my comments, I love him too 💖)
So, I was watching the last SP episode of the season with my boyfriend and saw that they were doing a South Park concert and remember my stomach like exploding in excitement. I knew I wasn’t going; I’ve never been to a real concert or anything, plus it was states away, but I entered the raffle anyway for fun. The more I waited that week, the more excited I got thinking about it. My rationale was: there was probably never going to be anything again that I could guarantee actually witnessing Trey Parker in real life, so it would be my only chance. Plus, I hadn’t gone on a vacation since I was like 14, so maybe I could go. But the raffle came and went, and I didn’t get in. I didn’t realize how truly hyped I was until I was walking down the street to my boyfriend’s house and holding that rejection email. When I told him he was like “what South Park concert” and I was super pissed lmao. (Side note, he has no fucking clue how gone I am for Trey XD at least not to the extent that I am. I feel like it’s rude to talk about my infatuation with another man to my significant other. So he didn’t understand my disappointment haha)
Then tickets went on sale, at the time only having one night, and I didn’t get in. Then those fucking premium, expensive tickets went on sale, my whole fucking salary for the summer honestly, and I was just staring at them as the clock ticked. I’ll never forget buying those in my bedroom and the reality setting in that I was actually going to go see Trey fucking Parker with my own damn eyes lol. I’ve been a fan of things before, had phases, had celebrity crushes, but never have I acted on one this way. So for months there was just this shining light of “I’m going to see Trey” or “it’s okay that this sucks, I’m going to Colorado in August.” XD
It was surreal being there, driving around actual mountains; it was like that SpongeBob joke “I’m washing dishes at night” but “I’m getting Starbucks in Morrison”. Seeing so many people that were more in my demographic there was so fucking cool. I was scared it was going to be these bro-y middle aged men, a lot of lame republicans lol, but it was a good mix! I met a lot of cool people! Then I was sitting in the second row, and I’d looked at spoilers from the first night, so when I saw my seats were in front of Trey’s piano I was just :O :O Ecstatic.
So it starts, and it’s cool, but then he fucking walks out and I don’t even have words :”). Like he was only a couple yards away. It was so amazing. I was yelling and singing and like holding my hands out to him the whole time. It was hard to even take my eyes away from him. Rewatching the concert on TV I was asking my boyfriend “were these visuals part of the live show? Did they add them in post?”, but it turns out I just never looked at the damn screen lol! Trey performed so wonderfully. Just...It was phenomenal. It was probably my peak XD Afterward I didn’t want to leave but security was like GTFO, and I just walked back down the hill in a daze. (The next day I had some pretty bad PCD (post concert depression haha) and I kept crying at random moments D:)
Anyway, my favorite moments from this had to be when he first came out, hat over his heart. I kept saying before I went that I better see his beautiful bald head, and he delivered immediately lmao XD 💖
💖My favorite performance was Yelper Special because I loved watching him do his little dance. I probably had my hands clasped over my chest embarrassingly, like ‘aww :’)’
I was worried about the voices, but tbh they pulled them off so well in my opinion. I think the mics really worked and they both did an amazing job being the boys. Robot Friend and the Theme Song where he and Matt are side by side doing their boys was so cute
I’m now officially a Primus fan too, they’ve actually become one of my top artists on Spotify, because damn, Les ate that shit up!!! Everyone was perfect!!
All the hat changing, and when Trey would turn to make faces, and when he’d be like “let’s fucking try that again”.
When Matt and Trey had their little asides, and when they would smile at each other, and the surprise, and their I love yous!! When they would reminisce about where they grew up, and when they met, and how far they’ve come?? I love them and their friendship 💖💖💖
((My poor boyfriend, I was really fangirling hard. I won’t repeat the joke he’d made, but it involved ruining some articles of clothing...TMIIII XD XD)) I’ll use this part to make my saucy comments, which is that he looked fucking hot!! Haha I was mesmerized by him. Most of the time I was alternating between gaping at him and taking blurry pics. My lust for this man, for real...He looked so good, I think the outfit was very flattering. Beautiful 💕
Obviously, I loved that appearance. You’ve seen my recreation of his outfit. I have I think 600 pictures from that trip... I made a photo album. I love Trey. I love his singing (that’s actually the first thing I liked about him, before I even watched South Park). He’s so wildly talented and skilled. It was truly a magical evening 😉
This had to be number 1.

There are so many moments in the raffles tv series where I have to ask ‘why would they do this if not to imply that bunny and raffles are gay?’

@ashes-and-ashes you are such a dote - Thank you so much 🥺❤️!

I would completely adore a TV adaptation of my canon marauders fic We Can Be Heroes, I could see it so clearly because when I write I see the scene in my mind as though it’s on screen? Imagine being able to have a canon marauders series with:
No interference from JKR
Confirming Wolfstar and Dorlene are canon
Giving them all the happy ending they deserved
No redemption arc for Snape
Pure Heaven!!!
I’d also love a film version of my medical marauders fic because that was so fun to write and I love a good medical drama with some action movie scenes? Can you imagine? (I’m laughing because there’s no smut and I cackled when someone who writes it said NO WAY to this ask 🤣🤣!!)
17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?
I actually don’t know, but I did like this short exchange between Sirius and James:
Sirius clenched his jaw. He would not cry, Merlin, damn it.
“You’re not my brother, Potter,” he said. Dismissively, coldly.
He watched a flicker of hurt cross James’ face, replaced by something else.
“I know that,” James said. “But you’re mine.”
Tumblr media
I’m Not that inventive when it comes to weirdness, but… possibly the fic where Minerva transfigures James into a turkey… the embarrassment and the cackling of his friends as Evans comes up to buy raffle tickets off him …?? It was the reference to turkeys strutting that had me:
“Well, did you know that when a male turkey struts, the snood engorges with blood and extends to hang down over its beak?” said Remus lightly, scratching the back of his neck.
“What?” said Sirius, whirling around and gawking at James. “Merlin, fuuuuuck!” … etc
91. how has your writing style changed over the years?
That’s a lovely question but hard to answer. I think it might be that when I’m writing angsty stuff I find myself using fewer words and it feels like (hopefully) there’s more emotion?
“You’ll find me,” he whispers, bringing his hand up to his lips and kissing it.
Remus smiles. And he is gone.
He is gone
He is gone
He is gone.
Sirius bows his head.
The other thing is I find myself writing angst and fluff side by side in the same chapter/fic, because real life is like that, and who can survive sadness without a sense of humour and still some joy in memory? That idea reminds me of the Japanese setsunai : the ability to carry sorrow and joy at once. Feeling it all together, allowing sorrow to co-mingle with fond remembrance? I think I used to separate these more in writing.

Post by @beadyeyes: "if i had a lame ass boyfriend i would hype him so much i would make him wait out side so i could go in first and be like get ready here comes the most specialest boy ever if you dont cheer and clap for him ill fucking blow this whole building up".
