Aedan: She's really brilliant, is the thing. I mean, not that the rest of the watchpoint isn't... sparkling company---

Rajeev: You watched me eat a raw scoop of protein powder on a dare yesterday.

Aedan: It's just, for all her experiences, for all her humility in the face of that, she has this incredible intelligence and will. I doubt she would have survived that time without it, but I really wish she was more aware of it. I really wish she could see it like the rest of us do.

Rajeev: I mean, I think Rei's the same way. She's always trying to do more, it's like she doesn't even know how much she does for everyone already, you know? And it's always 'no big deal' with her even though she's going well out of her way for it. And she knows what she's about, too. It's not like a 'please like me' thing, it's like... 'this is home, this is how home works.'

Aedan: *pause* ...Do you ever worry about how things would be if everything was suddenly normal?

Rajeev: What do you mean?

Aedan: If we weren't scared for our lives all the time, running off on missions all the time, scared we're going to lose each other all the time.... that sort of thing.

Rajeev: Hm... I would've liked to play college basketball.

Aedan: College basketball.

Rajeev: Don't really know how that would work but there are exchange programs. And I'm tall.

Aedan: That's it? You don't worry if your kindness comes from a core of trauma? Or fear? Or guilt?

Rajeev: ...I think we should just count ourselves lucky that we're around people who care that much. Who make us care.

Rei: I'm glad things eased up between you and Aedan.

Akasha: Me too. I missed our cooking lessons.

Rei: He's giving you cooking lessons?

Akasha: Everything I ate with Vishkar was... this really bland hypoallergenic stuff. Everything perfectly plotted out for macronutrients and efficient digestion, but nothing too spicy or sweet or acidic because everyone was eating the same thing. I didn't really realize how boring it all was it until I was adrift in time, but even then, the food during that time was... very hit or miss. It mostly started out because I needed to work in the kitchen like everyone else, but he noticed I would keep... nibbling at things...and he's been giving me lessons since.

Rei: How's that going?

Akasha: I'm learning a lot! He's really patient, but he gets so excited. It's sweet. I feel like he really could have been a really good teacher if it weren't for... all this. I also think it's good to give Rajeev a break from always worrying about me, too.

Rei: Rajeev cares about everyone. That's... part of his deal. *snort* It is sweet to see him running around the watchpoint checking in with everyone and trying to help out, though.

Akasha: Did he check in with you?

Rei: He helped me clean out my room. I'd been putting it off a while because I was so worried about having to choose between all of my stuff in boxes from LA and all my childhood sentimental stuff, but he was happy to spend all day helping me sort through all that stuff, and run boxes down to storage, or toss them in the truck to be donated...And he was asking all these questions about LA... it was nice to catch up. I think it's so easy to be caught up in, y'know, getting things done around here, that it's easy to just... brush over that kind of stuff. But he really cares.

Akasha: *smile*

Rei: and, heads up, he did take some of my old shoujo manga off my hands. *pause* And some clothes for you. If you want them. They might be a little long on you, but we can hem them.

I hate that I have to give nerdy little headcanons to custom characters no matter what.

Thanks to the full impact of a Plasma Mortar, Mark VII is more suit and prosthesis than person. She makes up for it with endless bounds of optimism. Like her armor, she's busy and sunny. Her armor emblem is a bee.

Rakasha kept most of her face at the hands of a Banished energy sword, but lost her hand, right forearm and eyes in the process. While she is blind, all her other senses are filed to a point. Her armor is outfitted with special aids for sight and sound.

a thought occurred to me while i was taking a shit on the toilet. so in noi during the final battle aru essentially kills a rakasha without hesitation just as kara did with the sleeper. they both took a life yet kara was punished. i know at the end the sleeper wanted to change sides but still?????? someone lmk what they think

My Dm just gifted me the 5e Monster manual for when I started running campaigns again, and it made me think.

What do you think are some common non-pc race crushes that most human adventurers would have?

My bet is on something charismatic like a Rakshasa

Okay, so the most common would probably be the "human" looking ones with cool features, aka angels like devas and solars. In a world of dnd, i feel like they'd be the most socially acceptable ones.

The most common but considered problematic to admit it in public would be the same but with fiends like cambions or succubus/incubus demons. Some small sub-group likes the less humaniod fiends, but people never count them.

Also I had a tiger plushie as a child that was twice my size, I would always bring it with me and sleep besides it. If kid me ever saw a rakasha in the streets, I would've ran up to them and hugged their leg.

I think all animal based races would be loved by humans but maybe in a condcending way. Look at ancient fables and furries, humans always had a thing for humaniod animals.

They'd make bank at children birthday parties tho if they ever looked over the human condescension. I know I would've screamed my parents' ears off to invite a rakasha to my birthday party if I had known this was a possibility.

There is also a group of non-playable characters that humans would fawn and obsess over but in a platonic way? Like just adore their beauty. Examples are pixies, unicorns, pegsuses, satyr, will-o-wisp, androsphinx and gynosphinx, faerie dragons, and dryads.

You'd definitely see a post or two about these races trending on social media every other week. Like twitter's "white boy of the month," except it's the blandest pixie you've ever seen with an aftershave shadow and in boxers, still the humans are obsessing over them.

Peguses and unicorns would have like ultra hardcore horsegirls fans.

Now, me personally? I would make it my life mission to meet a centaur. You know why, we all know why. I'm willing to risk it all. I'd suck up to an elf who would introduce me to the centaur tribe their city trades with and then my plan will be set into motion.

And I am doing humanity a favour! We will finally find out what a half centaur looks like.

Mimicks would be a niche interest with cult followings for some, doppelgangers and changelings too.

I think kobolds would end up being loved by humans more than actual dragons, which would piss off the said dragons when a kobold wins a scales beauty contest.

I think no matter the charisma of a race is, humans will sadly only judge them based on their looks. As a society we tend to be vain, even with pets. We only keep the cute or cool looking ones.

People who keep rats or mice still get hate comments under pictures of their pets. A lot of exotic pets we keep will kill us if given the chance, but we still keep them because of how cool they look.

But I think there will be humans who will see beyond looks, I mean, look at you. You have clear love for the gith race even when most of dnd players don't care about them or just see them as ugly. You saw beyond the exterior and found something beautiful, even then you still considered the exterior as beautiful.

For me, I actually hate pointy ears. I don't think i will ever be able to look at an elf irl without feeling nauseous. They're pretty, but god, the pointy ears really make me feel so off. And so many races have them too. Still I keep writing about them because they are a part of them that should be celebrated despite my personal opinions.

For gith, they feel different because they're not human skin coloured, you know? Like the ears don't feel off. But with elves, i can see the flesh and the blood veins, and oh my god, get away from me.

And I hope you have fun with the campaign you'll eventually start! Tell me any funny stories or moments that happen.

My new years went well. I made a flower crown and watched the fireworks. I baked cakes in the morning and made creme caramel with fruit toppings and chocolate covered strawberries. Mostly spent it home watching movies with my family. I hope yours went well, too <3

I really hope in the future paizo does a book or two focused on the asura, rakasha and other outsiders that don’t get as much attention.

Same! I know getting them for 1e is a pipe dream, but seeing Asura Rana or Rakshasa Immortals get statted out in 2e would at least give me an idea of how they COULD work in 1e! And Asura in general would make excellent bad guys for religious campaigns...

Ya know, I never asked about the Jungle Book timeline in Spawn but I wanna know about the relationship between Mythri and Shere Khan's Cubs. Is their relationship similar to their own Fathers' Hate Relationship?

If so, then I bet that Shiva must be his Father (Shere Khan) to Mythri's Father (Mowgli) in which The Cubs of Shere Khan hate Humans just like their own Father, right?

Mythri ventured into the jungle after saving little Rakasha’s pup Bhoot. (Yes he’s narrowed from the Andy Serkis version— but this time HE GETS to LIVE). She bumps into Baloo’s cubs who are eager to give her the home tour so to speak cuz Mowgli is considered a hero. Bageera’s cub Rajani thinks having her here will only bring trouble. But no one listens.

Shere Khan’s cubs get complicated. Since he escaped the lava pit by the help of his mate Kali, the pair retreated to the jungle. So deep even the animals think he died. But that wasn’t true. Cuz not long they had three cubs. Shiva was a quiet tiger and had a future mate he’d spend time with. But then she got hunted and stuffed by humans. Upon finding her stuffed body he flew into a rage and ate all the humans at the camp. He swore to kill any human that came into the jungle again. Shere Khan approved. Kali too, and she wasn’t afraid of fire like her husband.

Durga was the more level headed one. Kept he two brothers from getting into trouble. Much like Rajani, she only wishes to keep the status quo. It’s worked for this long and there’s no need to turn the jungle upside down. But she can be a killer tigress when she wants to be. She has more mercy than her mother. But very few have ever escaped her.

And Krishna is the joker of the group. He likes playing practical jokes for his own amusement. He has no respect for rules and finds they get in the way of his “fun”. He’ll roam close to human camps just to spy on them. He’ll stray too close to wolf territory just to make them nervous.

By the time word gets back to them about a new human in the jungle. Shiva is all about hunting this girl. Krishna is wanting to play a trick on her. And Durga wants her gone before she loses more of her family.

And second I DO have plans for helob!! He will be an old freind of Sozo! The responseable freind out of the bunch I still have to interact with helob more in game to get a feel for his character though before I do! as for rakasha, no plans for him unfortunately not sure where I would put him...

Rei: It's weird. I mean, I get why having her chronal accelerator damaged would.. put her back, like that, but it's weird that she seems about the same with everyone else.

Rei: Well, that's when it started, as far as I can tell. But it's not really the same caginess she had when she first came here. It's almost like... she's flustered.
